My Name Is Dusky Sky

And, Surprise is giving me a dirty look. She's the one writing this, as, even though I can write just as well as she can (she's being modest, she's much better than me.) I have a tendency to be a teeny tiny bit critical of everything I do, and I would probably end up just scrapping it. But, in my defense, Rarity told me once that titles are very important.
Okay, let me start over. My name is Dusky Sky. I am the youngest daughter of Princess Twilight Sparkle and Flash Sentry, who used to be the second in command for the royal guard but is now my mom's personal adviser. I am twenty four by the time this has been written, but I was roughly fifteen then.
My older sister is named Starry Night- my parents liked the whole atmosphere thing. She's an alicorn, and is training to become a princess. She's great. She's a great flyer, and is really good at magic. She loves reading about theoretical magic. Mom and her get into these really long discussions, that dad and I have learned to not interrupt. Ever.
I'm not an alicorn. Or a princess. Or even a unicorn. I'm a pegasus, which I get from my dad, as well as my orange coat and blue eyes. Maybe that's why I connected with him better. I know parents say that they love their children all equally, but me ad Surprise both agree that that's stupid. You will always have a favorite. I was my dads. He took me to battle meetings when I was younger when mom was too busy, and my nanny was out.
I loved it, and, as long as I didn't get underhoof I could stay. The things I learned would help me in later years, but I'm getting ahead of myself once more, so back on topic.
You know how I mentioned favorites? Starry was clearly moms. Not that she hated me. Say what you want about Twilight Sparkle, calling her a bad mother is a total and complete lie, but the fact that Starry could use magic and practically absorbed all books on theoretical magic meant they could talk about things that to me and dad just sounded like gibberish.
When I was five years old, and Starry was ten, Starry gained her cutie mark. My dearest Surprise, who's an unbelievable artist, especially since she draws things with her mouth, attached it here.
Her destiny is to rule. Me? I'm not even a hundred percent sure what my one is, well, not then. Yes- well Surprise, I can't just tell them, we have to build up intrigue. I don't care if that's the stupidest thing you've ever heard, it's how it works! I'm sorry, last I checked who punched a dragon in the eye? That's right.
Though, I wasn't a slacker either. Our politics teacher, Miss Cardbary, has more than once noted that I seem to have a way with words and have a amazing grasp of politics in general. But that's not what my cutie mark is, though, like battle tactics and fighting, it helped me in the future.
Anyways, this is my cutie mark. I'll tell the backstory behind it much later, but now introductions are done, I better get into the story of how I, being a fifteen year old, left home and almost singlehoofedly started a revolution then led an entire army of batponies to help them get their freedom, then helped them set up their own government.
You know, the usual. Yes, Surprise, I know that this is short, it's the prologue, now shut up .
