My Only Chance

A/N I am so sorry it took so long for this chapter to come out but I went through about 13 different drafts for this chapter alone but I wasn't sure in which direction I wanted to take the story, but now I finally give you all chapter 7 enjoy!

Chapter 7

Ok I will admit I was wrong about there not being a white light at the end of the tunnel in death but it really wasn’t at the end of a tunnel, it was all around me. Everywhere I looked it surrounded me, just a blinding white light. It felt like the white light was pulling me, not just in one direction but in every direction that it could. While it was doing that I was expecting there to be pain but there was nothing but warmness that consumed my body. After I was done getting pulled by the warm blinding light I felt a sudden shock course through my body.

Now all I felt was a body numbing pain that surged through every nerve I had, but I had no idea how it happened so I said what I thought was appropriate.  “OW….Dafuq.” I said after taking in a huge amount of air. Then I looked around and noticed a couple of things, one I was laying on a pile of my stuff, two I was underneath two princesses, and three everyone… I mean everypony else had their mouths agape, while I was just trying to take in massive amounts of air.

I was trying to stand up but failed, well I didn’t quite fail but I was defeated. As soon as I stood up and my breathing was back to normal, I was back on my pile of stuff as well as trying to catch my breath yet again. All I saw before this happened was an orange blur, and some pressure on my chest. After I was done heaving more air into my lungs I opened up my eyes to see Scootaloos head buried in my chest sobbing uncontrollably and taking in ragged shallow breaths. I figured it best to stay there and let her finish, while she was crying I just stroked her mane and told her everything was going to be alright.

Finally after what felt like weeks of having her on my chest crying she calmed down. “Do you feel better now?” I asked looking down into her eyes. She just nodded her head and wiped away a few tears. “Ok now that everything is all good… I want to know how this happened from the beginning?” I asked looking around the room. “Well all that really happened is the Princesses brought you back to life.” Scootaloo answered. “Ok but I want to know how this started. Twilight what did you hit me with because I will admit it hurt…BAD?” I said laughing a little. Once I said that she gave a sheepish smile and backed away a little, trying not to answer my question.

“Going to have to break the ice aren’t I?” I said griping my temple with my thumb and index finger. “Well I know how to get Twilight out of her shell, Umm… alright, what celestial body is more important the sun or the moon?” Once I asked this everyones…SON OF A BITCH I DID IT AGAIN… everyponies ears perked up. “Well duh, the sun of course. What kind of question is that?” Twilight answered pointing a hoof at me. Upon her answer I just smirked. “Are you sure that is the correct Answer?” I asked laughing a little. Upon my retaliation her ears flopped down onto her head. “Of course I am right; I am studying under Princess Celestia herself.” She said pointing to her.

“Okay then how about a little experiment to prove you are wrong?” I asked crossing my arms. “Okay tell me what I need to do and I will do it.” She said picking up a piece of parchment. “Okay I want you to set up two pots with seeds in them then I want one to have nothing but moon light on it while the other one has nothing but the sun’s rays, then I want you to speed them up till I tell you to stop.”I said as she gave me a ‘what are you stupid’ look.

She finished setting everything up and everypony… NAILED IT… gathered around to watch. Once it started the pot with the sun’s rays started to grow rapidly till at one week of continuous sunlight the plant died. Twilight starred at it with her mouth agape. “Look over here.” I said pointing to the pot with constant moonlight. Luna was already staring at it instead of the one with the sun, then everypony turned around to look and they about feel over. There in the pot at now two weeks was the plant that was larger than the one in the sun. “How?” Twilight questioned looking at it.

“That is simple Twilight let me explain. A plant doesn’t need too much heat to grow all it needs is light and a food source, and it will grow happy and healthy. From the looks of it Luna can create quite the beautiful night with just enough light to sustain life on this planet on its own.” I said walking over to Luna and standing beside her. Luna was still in shock as well as everypony else, eventually Twilight shook it off and looked at me with her eyes sparkling. “How did you know?” Twilight asked. “Simple Biology my dear.” I responded. “Ha if you think that is good you should see me in chemistry.” I said laughing.

While I was standing there laughing I quickly had to support myself since I was laughing so hard, but with my luck there was nothing there to support me so I fell over with pain shooting through my sides. After I got back up from my laughing fit Celestia Stepped forward. “Well Nick I still have my doubts about you, but I will trust you for now, but you will be coming back to the palace with me for at least a month then you may go where ever you want afterwards.” She said in a stern tone. I nodded in agreement since there wasn’t much I could against a goddess. “I do have two questions before we go to the palace. One, is my stuff going to be coming with me? And two, are the elements coming as well?” I asked looking her in the eye.

“Yes your stuff and the elements will be coming with us the entire time you are there.” Celestia responded. “One more question before we go, will Scootaloo be coming along as well?” I asked. “It is only fitting that she does.” Celestia said with a glint in her eyes. Which kind of lost me, then it hit me link a ton of bricks. Celestia was charging her horn, I’m guessing to teleport us all. The next thing I know I am in a huge chamber of the palace I was guessing, on one side hung light blue banners with the sun on them, while on the other side hung dark blue banners with the moon on them. I looked down at the end of the chamber and saw two thrones each the same size and the same silver color, which caught me off guard. I figured each one would have the same color scheme as each of the Princesses.

While I had my back turned I heard what sounded like hooves clopping on the marble floor at a very fast pace and getting louder as the owner of the hooves closed in. I turned to see a very angry looking unicorn charging right at me his eyes filled with the lust for blood. I knew I was in trouble at this points as he was gaining even more speed. As he got within feet of me I reacted on instinct and training alone. Everything almost seemed to slow down as the adrenaline in me started to surge through my veins speeding up my reaction time greatly. As he got close enough I stepped to the side and tipped him with my leg that I stuck out, as his leg hit mine he tripped sending me spinning around. In the process I raised my elbow ready to bring it down on him, as I saw him falling forward his head bent down some to try and catch himself, but it was too late for him as I saw my opening. I brought down my elbow as hard as I could on the amour that protected his head, this sent pain rocketing through my arm but putting him on the ground, HARD, in the process. Now I know a lot of you are like ‘bullshit that would have done nothing to him’. That is where you are wrong, the kind of amour he was wearing was for swords and hacking and slashing, but not for blunt force trauma.

As the speed of the world started to come back to normal I realized what I just did. “SHIT!” I yelled looking at who was laying on the ground before me out cold with a dent in his helmet; it was Twilights brother Shining Amour. I turned around to see ten faces looking at me with their mouths agape at what I had just done, and I knew it looked bad right now. “Before you all say anything, it was self-defense, I decided that my life was in danger so I protected myself. And no he isn’t dead he is just asleep, I doubt he will even have a headache when he wakes up in a few minutes.” I said trying to clear the tension in the air which seemed to work. “But you do know who you just knocked out, right?” Twilight asked. “Yep, I know exactly who I knocked out, Shining Amour, Your older brother, Parents are Midnight Sparkle father and Dawn Sparkle mother, currently married to Princess Cadance, also Captain of the Royal Guard. Also will soon be departing with Cadance to the Crystal Kingdom, then something will come up and then you and your friends will have to help save the Crystal ponies. Ooooh and I also believe you fail a test just before going but I am not sure.” I said looking at them.

But this seemed kind of off that should have happened just after the wedding, yet at least a few years must have passed by for Scootaloo and her friends to have grown a good bit older. “When did the wedding happen between him and Cadance?” I asked curiously. “Just two weeks ago.” Twilight answered me. Then sudden realization hit me, but before I could say anything I heard a snort behind me. “Shiny is standing right behind me isn’t he?” I asked and Twilight nodded. “Fuck.” I sighed. I turned just in time to see him running at me, I moved to the side again quick but his time I grabbed his neck as he ran by and jumped over his back switching the arm I had around his neck then my feet landed hard on the ground. Then I used his own body weight and momentum against him and rolled him across my back and threw him to the floor, he slid a couple of feet before standing back up and charging at me again. At this point I was trying to figure out why he wasn’t using his magic to stop me. Then he slowly trotted up to me in a defensive manor, he stopped and shed his gear on the floor. He came up to me then slowly rose to his hind hooves and stood a little bit smaller than me, but he was as stocky as an ox.

I knew if somepony else or I didn’t end this I was going to be in trouble. He stepped towards me and started to throw hooves one after the other, but I kept dodging till one connected to my nose. It felt like I just got hit by a truck, by the time I recovered he was closing the distance again this time I got low and ready for his next attack. As he stepped and throw his left hoof I stepped to the right pulling my left fist back as I put my right hand on his back, and then I drove my left fist as hard as I could into his gut as far as it would go, I heard a sudden blast of air escape his mouth as I winded him. But he quickly recovered and landed an elbow on my nose, I knew I didn’t have much longer before I would either pass out or die…again. He attacked again swinging his hooves at me, as he swung with his left I stepped to the right and got behind him, I wrapped my arm around his neck and tripped him to the side taking us both to the ground, before we hit the ground I got both of my legs around him and locked them in place. After we hit the ground I locked my arms in place. I knew this move was looked down upon unless in a dire situation which this was, all I had to do was contract my back muscles and stretch my arms up while I stretched my legs down, which would either break his neck or break his back. “Somepony stop him please I don’t want to do this?” I screamed, but got no reply. I felt every muscle in my body tense up getting ready to most likely end his life, but then it hit me that I couldn’t do this if I wanted to.

I released him and stood back up as I watched him gasping for air, I slowly stumbled back over too where everypony was standing and fell to one knee just to stand back up again. “Why did no one stop him?” I asked a wave of venom in my voice. “Because it was a test.” Said a voice off to my left. I looked over and about dropped over, it was Shining Amour standing there in his gear. I looked off to the right where I left him, he was still there then he faded. An illusion, it was just an illusion. “What didn’t you want to do?” he asked drawing my attention back to him. “You really want to know? I tell you what I am going to be honest with you. I was going to paralyze you...” I stopped since I knew he was going to say something to that. “Oh that wouldn’t have been so bad, ha just a little temporary paralysis.” He said chuckling. “… well I’m sorry to dampen your laughter but it would not have been temporary what so ever, oh no it would have been permanent. That is only if I decided to break your back with my legs, if I would have used my arms I would have broken your neck and you would have easily died by my hand in my arms, but there are two reasons I didn’t do it. One I am in a peaceful world with little to no violence, so it would have made me look really bad, two, I am pretty sure when you have a foal with Cadance that you would like to play with it and run with it, but who would I be to take something so special away from you and your little foal.” I said in a voice that dripped venom but became normal near the end. He was staring at me in total shock as well as everypony else.

“Now if you all don’t mind I would like to be left alone for the rest of the day in a nice soft bed, There are only two exceptions on who I would be alright with visiting me, One Scootaloo can come in anytime she wants, and two, Royalty other then Shining Amour, now would someone… uugh, somepony lead me to my room, I prefer it be a maid.” I said to everypony. Celestia quickly clopped her hooves together and I saw a maid appear out of the corner of my eye, she was a light brown earth pony with a dark brown mane and she was wearing a maid’s outfit. “Miss Bright would you please take him to his room?” Celestia asked. “Of course Princess Celestia.” She said with a bow. She motioned me to follow her. As I walked over to her I stopped and looked back to Celestia. “Celestia do you believe that even is even and fair is fair?” I asked with a little smile on my face. “Well yes it seems fair to me.” She said with a hint of confusion on her face. I turned to my other side; there stood Shining Amour like he could defeat the world. “Amour you heard her right even is even and fair is fair correct?” I asked him, he nodded with a smile on his face not knowing what I was about to do. I nodded and smiled to as I pulled back and punched him in the nose as hard as I could, which put him on the ground.

I looked back over to the group and gave a small nod with a smile on my face. “He had it coming it only seems fair to me that he share in the pain he put me through, first he broke my nose then he elbowed me in it. So fair is fair is it not?” I asked. Celestia only smiled and nodded trying to hold back a laugh. I turned back around and followed Bright out of the room. As I walked down the hall behind Bright I took notice just how big the palace was, it was like freaking unending. After what felt like an hour of walking Bright stopped in front of a room and opened the door waving me in, I followed close behind and was surprised how big the room really was, not that I should have been.

As I walked into the room I walked past a mirror and caught a look at myself, I looked horrible. From my nose down to my chest was covered in blood, I also noticed that my nose was slightly angled. I sighed, “Bright could you help me do something please?” I asked looking over to her as she set a few pillows on the bed. “Of course mister…?” she said trailing off. “Please just call me Nick.” I said turning to her. “Of course Nick.” She said happily. “Ok I am going to need some gauze if you have them?” I asked. “Oh just give me one second.” She said disappearing into the bathroom only to appear a few seconds later with some gauze on her back. “Ok well I need to realign my nose after what happened earlier, once I do it is going to start bleeding badly again, all I need you to do is hold some gauze up to my nose for me if you could do that?” I asked lying on the floor, with her coming up to my side. “No Problem.” She replied.

I took a deep breath getting ready for the pain that was going to follow after I fixed my nose, I brought my hands up to the side of my nose placing my palms on each side. “Are you ready?” I asked looking up to bright. “Yes, I’m ready.” She replied. I took one last deep breath before I squeezed my palms together on my side and jerked to the side real quick. After I put it back in place and a grunt of pain I felt Bright softly bring a hoof to my nose, I looked down as the piece of cloth absorbed the blood from my nose. I sighed as it already started to feel better. “Bright, thank you for assisting me. I was wondering, what is your first name since I can tell that Bright seems to be your last name?” I asked sitting up while she still held the cloth to my nose.

“I am Shine Bright, top maid in the palace. I will be assisting you while you are here.” She smiled. “I must say that name fits you Shine, I like it.” I said smiling at her. I watched as she blushed a bit but I just laugh as she does. “Could you do me another favor, I need you to get Twilight, Scootaloo and both of the Princesses, and could you tell them that this is urgent, please?” I ask. “No problem, I will be back with them soon.” She says as she walks out of the door. I know what I am going to tell them is not going to be good for them to hear but they will just have to get over it like already did.

Five minutes later Twilight, Scootaloo, and both of the princesses walk in and up to me while I sit on the bed. Once they got close I got off of the bed and motioned them to lay or take a seat on it. At first I could tell they were about to protest, “Please just sit on the bed because what I am about to say will not be easy for me, ok?” I said. They all nodded in agreement and lay down on the bed. I stood there for a bit while they got comfortable. “Ok, do you all remember back when I had Twilight run that experiment?” I asked. They all just nodded. “Well while I was standing there I ran some numbers in my head, when you came to get Scootaloo you said she was only gone for about fifteen minutes. Well on my world I had been about three days, so I did some quick math and figured out for every month that I am here it will be twenty-one years on earth.” I said causing them all to gasp. “No don’t say anything I have already came to terms, but there is something back there that is very precious to me that I want to go and get and that is where I need your alls help. The only problem is that I don’t know what the biggest thing you all can teleport is.” I say as I look to them for answers.

“Oh don’t worry about how much we can teleport, but what is it that you want to get?” Asks Celestia. “*sigh* I want to get the 1980 Chevy C10 Pickup I help my grandfather rebuild, before he died he willed me that truck. So I want to go back and get it, but I am going to need you all to come with me to get. Because I believe I am going to have some explaining to do to my mother, so I am going to need proof.” I say turning and looking out the window.
