Once Dead: Back For Vengeance
Chapter 2: Repercussions
Previous ChapterNext ChapterLuna’s POV
‘Two years, two years ago, my alien friend had shocked the nation at the Grand Galloping Gala.’
After the screams and panic I could only watch in horror as his opened eyes, stared back. No sign of movement… and he blamed the Elements for this. As the guards and servants tried to clean as much blood they could, they would puke themselves from the sight, making a bigger mess. I went up to Twilight who still stared on.
“Twilight please tell us. How was he treated in Ponyville?”
“I…I… I don’t know.”
“Was he staying with you?!”
She then broke down as she explained she thought she was supposed to learn from him. She didn’t even see him as a friend, only a scientific breakthrough. The rest were the same Rarity thought he was a beast, Applejack and Rainbow Dash didn’t trust the stranger and tried to scare him out of town and got the town riled up for it. Fluttershy only hid when he practically went up and begged for some help only to be turned away. And Pinkie… she threw him a party… but no one came and decided they weren’t meant to be friends.
I was enraged at them as I forced them from the castle and the city. They caused him so much pain, he barely had anything left go on. I collapsed by him as I cried for him, everything he was told about ponies, he took to heart as any good thought about our race tore him apart. Celestia could only look away as tears stained her face.

He was later buried in Ponyville Cemetery. The residents were shocked to see it. They hated him… but this was too far for them. They eventually joined as they tried everything to apologize for their actions. The Mane Six tried to enter but I told them to never come here again. They didn’t deserve to be the Elements, and Deities above should their souls be judged. After that I made a proclamation. The accounts of the event will be sent to every publisher known across the Kingdom. Names would be given and printed by the ones she visited in their dreams. Ponyville’s reputation would be tarnished as would anyone there… but this Kingdom was built on Friendship, and we let one who needed it most down.

Even after that ponies came by every day to leave flowers and cards. And yet, it only made things worse for the ponies. Eventually after the first year, they dwindled down to nothing and the visits became rare, until it was just me. His tombstone covered with dead flowers and old cards that have long lost their writing. A lot of ponies only came to see the grave of “The Creature with No Friends.”
“Hello Desmond. It’s been awhile. A lot has happened this month. My niece is to be wed to the Captain of our guard. I guess I owe you those 10 bits.” She chuckled.
“Sigh. I’m sorry this land took so much form you. The ponies have regretted every action, even the young ones that had no idea what was going on. The Six Ponies are in therapy after half were traumatized by your death. Pinkie Pie keeps a smile up, but she loses it when she sleeps. Rarity keeps making clothes for you, and even undoes the fabric and starts over. Fluttershy barely even leaves her home anymore. And Twilight has been searching day and night for a spell to reverse the damage. Applejack and Rainbow have been overworking themselves to exhaustion.”
A lone tear falls to the ground.
“They need each other more than ever. Twilight has even destroyed all the reports on you. She wished she knew more about you than just a piece of parchment.”
She lays down a bouquet of purple roses.
“See you around crocodile.” She dryly laughs as said a line Desmond always said to her when she went to bed.

??? POV
I held the pony’s neck as he tried to break free. Next to him was a body, a mare to be precise.
“So you like being powerful huh?”
He only spat in my face.
“Oooh tough stallion?”
I then glowed as I drained his magic. His color drained as I dropped him to the ground. Barely even able to lift himself up from the ground.
“W-w-w-what did you do?!” He tried to yell.
“I have taken your magic away. And to leave a message…” I said as I tested my abilities as he stood up involuntarily. His wings outstretched as I began to move my hands apart. He screamed to the high heavens as his wings were ripped off like paper. The guards would no doubt hear this, and I dropped him. I then walked up to him his tears freely falling as he held the back of his wing joints.
“Here’s a little something to tell the guards… tell them and ask if they think Celestia believes in ghosts. Unless you die.”
“Wha...” My foot came down on his head, knocking him out and leaving him to bleed.
“Time to retreat…”

Three months later…
Twilight’s POV
Howling winds could be heard from outside the train. The train shaking slightly from it, but held strong as it kept going to our destination.
“So where are we going again?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“I told you before the Crystal Empire. It has returned and we need to get up there fast.”
The train whistled as they came to a stop. They all exited the car as we saw my brother wearing his armor.
“Shinning?!”
“No time to talk, we gotta move!”
No sooner had he said that a dark swirling mist was coming right behind us.
~~~~~~
“C’mon Spike! You have to put the Heart on the pedestal!”
“RAARRRGH! You shall not stop me!” Sombra shouts a he dives for the Heart only for another dark blur to ram into him and the castle. Hi magic holding us dissipated after he lost focus. The smoke cleared as we saw another being fighting against him. His was covered with a metal helmet that appeared to look melted before hardening. The only thig seen was… those yellow eyes…
It held Sombra by the neck as he bashed him to the ground countless times, as he fired off spells, the crystals grew on its body but still kept bashing him like a rock. He then started to spin him around as he crashed into pillars and other debris. Sombra was sprawled out in defeat as he tried to crawl away only for a shadow to overtake him. And then the screams as his magic seemed to leave him. His power fading as he became weaker and weaker as the crystals shrunk from the creature’s body, but it didn’t stop until he was withered out like a raisin.
He looked at me, and I could feel the hate radiating from his glare. He then picked up Sombra.
“Enough! He’s already taken enough! He can’t harm anypony again!”
He then stared back as Sombra weakly moved his head to the side.
“Two years too late…” It spoke as a whisper before cracking the former King’s neck and letting him drop to the ground. He then walked up to Spike and grabbed the heart before placing it on the pedestal. It glowed to life before a giant wave emanated from the Heart as ponies were glowing again, even ourselves.
“Twilight!” Shining shouts.
I look over to see them running towards me.
“You did it!” He says hugging her.
“Actually it was him.” Spike said pointing to me. They only stared as I did the same. Cadence walked up and extended her hand.
“Thank you. You have saved this Empire form a terrible fa…”
“I didn’t do it to save you ponies.”
The group was shocked at my remark as I then ignited a flame and hurled it at the corpse of Sombra.
“I only did it for his magic.”
“But Dark magic…”
“I know, but it keeps me alive.”
I then pull off my mask as it hisses. It falls to the ground with a thud. I then look over as umbral mist left the hole in head as my eyes changed different colors form the magic fluctuation. I gasp along with my friends we recognized him… it was Desmond.
“Desmond?!” I shout.
“So the bitch remembers.” He replied with a grin.
“It’s been a long time, hasn’t it? How have you been? I’ve been reeaally busy being dead… you know after you MURDERED ME.” He added after his eyes glowed brighter.
They could only shun away after hearing those words Shining didn’t like what he said though.
“How dare you? These are the Elements of Harmony!”
“I have no respect for those that don’t deserve it.”
He then glowed as he charged his horn.
“Shining wait!”
A light purple flash erupted from his horn and went to its destination, but Desmond only deflected it as it took off a section of the castle wall before bursting in the air. His arms glowed a dark purple.
“Hmmm his magic was better, but I’ve yet to reach my potential.”
“Desmond please we regret our actions. Ponyville has suffered, we have been wanting to make amends for so long!” Twilight shouts as she tries to grab my hands.
I only stare back before hurling her into a wall. I then place my mask back on my new magic intake changed it around.
The mask became more horrifying as the jaw seemed to split and strange marks grew over his body.
‘Where did he get such power?’
“Ahhhhh, that’s better.” I said cracking my joints around. “Well… adieu”
He then walked off only to be held back. He looked over to find the Pink Menace trying to hug me.
“Please Desmond! I want to be your friend.”
She was only pushed off.
“You had your chance Party Pony.”
I then toss a piece of crumbled paper before glowing and disappearing.
The Guards came running in as they got Twilight and Shining up. Pinkie’s mane deflated as she started to wail.
“Sugarcube?” Applejak asked.
Pinkie threw the crumbled paper as she zipped off. The rest looked at it until Applejack picked it up and unrevieled it before her eyes misted.
It was… the invitation for his surprise party.
