WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

A solitary crack appeared in the Crystal Heart. The crack multiplied and radiated throughout the ancient relic. Then it shattered into a hundred pieces!

Everypony gasped and stared in shock at the remains.

Applejack walked over to the shards littering the floor. "Ah'm guessing that's gonna make it hard to do the Crystalling."

Pulling aside the curtain and glancing outside, Twilight explained, "It's worse than that. Without the heart, the Crystal Empire is about to be buried under a mountain of ice and snow!"

Rarity wailed, "So... not only can we not take part in a fabulous ancient ceremony, but we're also about to be frozen solid!"

Twilight Sparkle continued, "Without the Crystal Heart's magical protection, the entire city's about to become a winter wasteland!"

All of a sudden, Pinkie Pie began bouncing around: "♫ Winter Wasteland! Winter Wasteland! All of us are going to die! Winter Wasteland! Winter Wasteland! That's enough to make you cry! 'Cause we're all going to die! ♪"
