Chapter 1 The Home Life
“I’m Rui Fucking Caster! Don’t you dare forget it!”
Long ago in the magical Land of Equestria... Ponykind was attacked by foreign aggressors our homes were burned and lives were taken in the war. The only saving grace we had was the light of the princesses by our side it was because of them we were able to escape deep underground kept safe by the very earth we stood on protected by the knowledge held within the mind of our Overmare. Trust the Overmare; obey the Overmare.
Boring, Life in Stable 42 never changed so it was rather boring or at least that's how it is for the Doctors. The most I have to look forward to is reading some old pre-war books which we are in limited supply, Check our supply of medical equipment to make sure they still work because our stuff is rather dated, And maybe give somepony a little something for the sniffles we can’t let the Stable full of 500 ponies die out because one little foal had a runny nose.
That’s been my day for the last eleven years when I got my Cutie Mark a triangular science beaker with water inside and three bubbles floating above which made me the happiest little filly with a cream coat and neon red mane with a purple stripe on my tail and light green eyed Gingercorn in the Stable how ignorant I was, Once I got my Cutie Mark I was put to work for my Dad Alos Caster the best Medical Scientist in the whole Stable so I guess I was bound to follow in his hoofsteps, I’m twenty one years old and yet he still acts like I’m eleven.
Well at least I can look forward to seeing my fifteen year old baby brother Myu Caster a cyan coated and Brown maned unicorn the cute little guy doesn't even have his Cutie Mark yet. The only thing that bugs me is that he keeps staring at me with this puzzling look on his face and he won't tell me why!
“Hey Rui stop daydreaming and get back to work!”
My focus was snapped back to reality when a Blue maned and and white coated unicorn who looked at me with those piercing light green eyes which is a family trait for us.
“Huh what!? Oh sorry Dad…”
I say in a dowry tone with big puppy eyes trying to earn some sympathy points, He was not amused.
“Look Rui I know this job isn’t the most exciting job in the Stable but at least it beats the panic inducing work of the core engineers right? One mistake from them and we could all die from unfiltered air so at least boring means safe.”
Boring is safe? I know boring is safe I’m tired of safe! I want more to life then to just sit here and call out foals that pretend to be sick and that's the highlight of my day!
“I know but it’s the same everyday doing the same thing with the same ponies I’m just tired…”
“Hmm I guess I can hold down the fort for a few hours why don’t you take a break and do something fun?” He said with a caring smile.
Awe I can’t say no to that smile I simply nod my head and smile back as I trot down the halls of Stable 42.

I can’t say how long I have been walking but it barely matters my dad said go do something fun. The problem with that is there isn’t any fun to be had when you have nothing to do during work hours and playing with the Stable 42 Pip-Buck doesn't provide much entertainment ether. That would be the case if you didn't have a friend named Daisy who loves to gamble, That long blond mane and bright pink coat with a daisy cutie mark tend to be… distracting especially when she looks at me with those pretty blue eyes~
“And that's twenty one wow you really suck at blackjack~”
Damn… and that was the last of my bits for the week. If I don't call it now she will take my Stable barding, Maybe that was her plan all along!
“Heh heh Yeah I just can’t call a bluff, please don’t take my clothes next!”
“Only if you have nothing left to bet~” She said with a wink.
I can’t tell if that was her idea of a joke of if she was hitting on me regardless i’m blushing like a tomato. Just as I was about to respond the fillies and foals she was ‘suppose’ to teach surrounded us like a pack of wild Timberwolves with hunger in their eyes!
“Miss Daisy! We finished our tests!” a small yellow and red colt asks.
“My that was fast I'm impressed! Guess I should start story time.”
She gets up giving me the I'm sorry look and is dragged off by the most evil of children to interrupt such a moment! Knowing I won't get another chance with her today I return home in hopes of rubbing a quick one out before I go back to work. But sadly I just wasn’t allowed as the stable speakers sounded off.
“Attention all ponies are to report to the atrium hall for a very important announcement from our wonderful Overmare.”
What the hell? The Overmare wants to speak with everypony in the stable? This is something new and exciting I am not missing this!

It was well known that not everypony likes the Overmare for one reason or another but when I saw her the only words I could think of was, What a little bitch! How come she gets a nice red dress when everypony else has to wear the same jumpsuit! This was added to her pink coat and her short light pink mane and long flowing tail which made her look so damn good in it! How dare she look attractive like that!
“Ahem, My little ponies, I am so proud of you for all you have done to keep this stable up and running for the last two hundred years. Many of you have come and gone leaving your work to your children and your children's children and so on. Many Overmares have taken the mantle throughout our time to eventually lead to me your best Overmare! Why would I say that I'm the best? Well the reason is because unlike the others I have been able to come in contact with Stable-Tech from the outside! Yes I have discovered that the surface is indeed habitable now! Stable-Tech will be arriving to Stable 42 within the next day so I expect my little ponies to present us in a glorious light for them so they know Stable-Tech made the right choice with entrusting us with the good of ponykind! Thank you all and prepare for life outside!”
And with that she trotted back to her office with elegant steps of course but enough of that we can finally go outside! No more of the walking death of boredom will loom over me ever again! I need to find my Dad and Brother ASAP!
I struggled through the herd of ponies congested in the tight halls to get back home lucky me they were both waiting for me when I flailed my way back inside.
“Dad Myu We can go outside! We can see the Celestia damn sun like the ponies before the war enjoyed everyday!”
I was excited as I could ever be but Alos wasn’t as happy like the others.
“Yes I agree this sounds like the best thing ever but I feel like it’s too good to be true.”
Myu suddenly speaks up.
“I’m scared what if the Overmare was tricked I don't want our friends to get hurt because of her…”
I was shocked at how open he was about his mistrust of our Overmare I didn’t even know what to say to comfort him my poor baby brother, I look at Dad for his help.
“Myu listen if you don’t trust our Overmare then trust your sister she is a very capable pony and she will keep you safe no matter what.”
Thanks for that Dad… If I wasn’t expected to do much before well now I have to always look my best in front of him…
“Well let’s all pack just in case” He says in a cheerful voice

Everypony was waiting as close as they could get to the stable door in anticipation, Me and my family are stuck on the second floor railing but at least we can still see. Since stables don't have much supplies beyond essentials so most ponies are all taking a saddlebag per pony except for the Overmare of course, She has a few suitcases and some poor saps forced to drag them around then she decides to start talking again.
“My fellow ponies we are just moments away from returning to the surface and rejoining the world that shines in our Princess Celestia’s radiant sun and Princess Luna’s beautiful moon! I your illustrious Overmare shale guide you all to our prosperous new future!”
With those final words she pressed the big red button and the stable door screeched and slid out of position greeting five hundred ponies to the glow of the outside well almost that glow was not Celestia’s grand sun but something else something bad. The ponies we were told were Stable-Tech did not look the part, They were dirty un-groomed and clothing made of whatever they could find and that stench… I’m on the second floor and I can still tell they haven't bathed in months! And then what looked like their leader came forth right up to the Overmare. He looked cleaner than the others though not by much he had metal barding around his body he looked like he was made of metal and it was stained along with those bright orange glowing eyes that lit up the cave that lead outside…
“You must be Stable-Tech I am the Overmare it’s uh a pleasure to meet you…”
The normally self centered mare lost her composure when near the metal stallion probably because of the smell.
“Why hello Overmare I am called 56A well that’s my recent name. Now you seem all well prepared for life outside the stable and we will get you out just… Not the way you expected~”
I was not prepared for what happened next no pony born in our stable was prepared. The metal stallion touched the overmare with a metal hoof and sparks came out she was zapped! The whole stable went silent not one sound could be heard not a step a scream not even a breath… If things weren't bad enough some of the dirty ponies started shooting up the place making the halls filled with screams cries and panic as everypony tried to run away.

I couldn't believe it one moment I was excited to leave the stable and another moment and I'm running for my life with my brother on my back and my dad close behind us now I'm grateful we were on the second floor less ponies to get through! Oh goddesses I'm glad that my friends are dying as long as I can live this day can officially kiss my ass! If I live through this I really will put up a sign and have ponies take a number!
“Sis I'm so scared! Please make it stop!”
The worst part is my baby brother is being exposed to such horrors and my Eyes Forward Sparkle or E.F.S showed that there were about thirty or so red dots behind us each red dot was a pony who wanted to kill us! Just keep running, Just keep running, Just keep running!
“Sis go to engineering no ponies are there! Just go there so I don’t have to watch!”
That is actually a good idea we can hide there! I made my way to engineering it’s quiet but we can still hear the ponies above us which gave us a bit of calm at least the best calm we could manage…
“Kids we can’t stay down here forever so catch your breath and get ready to move again our only chance to live is to go outside if they could survive life out there I'm sure we can as well.”
What!? He plans to have us go outside where more of those crazy ponies are!?
“But Dad! What about the others!? Our friends are in danger! We can’t leave them to die even if we managed to escape what then!? Da-”
He pressed his hoof on my muzzle to shut me up and to stop me from panicking.
“I know this is asking a lot but we can’t save them If we tried we would just end up dead and I'm not letting my children die here... I’m sorry but we have no choice now stand tall and show your brother that he can lean on you for support.”
He is surprisingly calm and those piercing eyes compel me to be brave so I do what he says I stand tall and walk over to Myu with my hoof reached out.
“Alright Myu… Let's be brave together so we can see the sun”
He took my hoof and I helped him stand up and I used my magic to pull a few pipes off the wall it doesn't need them anymore. Now that we are all armed I feel better slightly but I will take what I can get I then turn on my neglected state of the art Stable 42 Pip-Buck and we slowly sneak back upstairs.

Okay making sure I don’t panic up these long stairs I decided to take mental notes. First is that we are all unicorns so we have at least one spell we can all do well Myu is good at levitation Alos can make a small burst of fire it was mostly used to boil medicine so not super helpful and then me I can teleport across a room at least once so if we have to fight we can at least defend ourselves… Wait why is it still so quiet?
“Sis… our friends… they aren't moving... “
Oh goddesses… The stench of decay stabs our nostrils like being tackled by a very big mare! Oh look at that I was tackled by a very big mare! Before I could react she bit me or at least tried but she missed and bit the Pip-Buck which lets me activate my Stable Assisted Targeting System also known as SATS making everything around me slowdown to a crawl allowing me time to bash her head in with the sharp pipe I levitated through her skull I got her off me but she was still alive and I didn’t stop, I just kept bashing her and wouldn’t stop until her head was paste leaving me there crying. I just killed a pony… I JUST KILLED A PONY!!!
“Rui get ahold of yourself!”
Suddenly I was slapped by my dad leaving me shocked silent.
“You can survive this Just keep it together!”
He was right I can’t freak out now I can save that for when we get out of here. He owes me a lot of cuddles for doing this. Cuddles and ear rubbing!
“Alright I'm good now let’s move…”
As we snuck our way through the halls I start to wonder how will the others deal with killing a pony I just bawled my eyes out and if they try... I think Dad can do it but not Myu so I need to keep my eye on him I won’t let him just to be safe.
I turned the corner to the atrium and saw a horrific sight our friends were being enslaved forced in cages the ones out of the cages were being used by the crazy ponies! Lots of our friends were beaten and most if not all the mares were being raped by them and they did not clean off all that gunk and grime covering their bodies. I wanted to vomit then one mare caught my eyes it was the Overmare! I couldn’t move my eyes were locked on her and her most disgusting partners shoving pint after pint of their seed down her cunt and throat she wanted to vomit as well but fear alone kept her from doing so she was a bitch of a mare but she didn’t deserve this.
Before I could act Myu held onto me just shaking his head if he knew what needed to be done at a time like this I would be a fool not to listen even if he is young. So we were about to sneak out but I saw that metal pony again and he was on top of Daisy! Guess this makes me the biggest fool in the stable because the next thing I knew I teleported to the metal pony with SATS turned on and stabbed him in the chest with the broken pipe I didn’t even dent him, I was just standing there with a very awkward please don't hurt me smile as he stared at me with those blinding headlight eyes.
“Stupid little stable mare doesn’t even know when she is looking at an augmented stallion.”
He suddenly pinned me down next to Daisy and oh wow I can see one part that isn’t augmented and I think he plans to put that in me!
The next thing that happened was that the metal pony was lit on fire as my dad dragged me and Daisy away from him!
“Damn it Rui take her and Myu out now I will deal with 56A myself!”
“Make it back alive Dad! Luna as my witness you better get out alive or else I will fucking kill you myself!”
With that I ran with Myu and Daisy out the stable door I hated that I was leaving him but I trust him to make it out alive-
I heard the stable door closing behind us and I saw Dad on the wrong side!
“Daddy get out of there!“
He just looks at me with that caring smile and his horn lights up and the inside of the Stable explodes just as the door seals itself he must have opened a gas pipe.
“D-Daddy...“
I wanted to scream...

Chapter 2 A Shut-in basking in the Sun
Help I'm blind! The sun it burrrrrns!
I was stuck not because my hoof got caught on something its because I just saw my father's last moments as the cold twelve inch thick steal door closed separating us from ever being in close proximity of each other ever again. Who cares if I'm almost outside I wanted everypony to enjoy it with me! To think yesterday I said I was tired of safe goddesses please if your going to fuck me with your horns at least lube me up first going in dry is just painful!
"Come on Rui we can't stay in this cave all day we don't know if there are more of those crazy ponies around here so get up and let's go we can morn once were safe."
Daisy was right I have to make sure we live through this I still have Myu to look after! So we set off and finally leave the cave and oh fuck what's that blinding light!?
"Sis no pony said the sun was going to hurt my eyes!"
"You guys know you will be fine if you stop starring at the sun right?"
"well standing here wont solve anything so lets go to that village over there maybe we can find a nice pony who will help us"
After about twenty minutes of complaining about the heat from all of us well except for Daisy we finally made it to the village and just eww... This place was like a garbage dump and smelled like one too. Looking around I saw this building called a Gas... Station... The hell is a Gas Station well regardless its where I went first and I instantly regret it because I just stepped on a button a big red button on a small silver platform that read Explosive Minefield. oh that really didn't sound good.
A pony came around the corner he was old with a brown coat and gray mane with a cowpony hat holding a very nice sawed off double barrel shotgun to my face.
"I uh well we were just exploring and huh. if this explodes why are you standing so close to us?" I say now a little cocky even if there is still a big scary gun in my face.
"Ah ponyfeathers!"
"We are three very lost ponies and just wanted some help so could you please oh please not shoot us!?"
"Guess I could be a bit more neighborly." He says scratching the back of his neck "It's not often that ponies are nice out here in Las Pegasus so your a sight for sore eyes."
"so if your going to be nice can we have a gun like yours we did you know Not kill you and all we have are two metal pipes so we could use a gun one like you have Rui seemed to like it"
"Well I guess I should but your asking a lot for just not taken it but that's it I ant helpen no more! You want more go bother Mareapony at the bar!"

The bar we went to was to sum it up a big half bubble of sheet metal and not very well put together I feel like once I open the door the whole thing will fall apart. Oh well with my new shotgun strapped to my side we walk in and the place actually held when I opened the door.
When we entered I was greeted by a rather pleasant sight of clean metal walls sure some of it was rusted and had holes but I found it comforting due to my life now having a lack of walls around me though the ponies inside were not to be desired they reminded me of the crazy ponies from before but cleaner and calmer though they all gave me the death glare my stable barding probably said we weren't from around here.
"Hello welcome to Dirt the home of cheep booze for cheep prices try another bar if you want but this is the best one around for miles"
"Hi I'm Rui Caster I just came out from a stable all my friends are dead and I got blinded by the sun for the first time took a shotgun from an elderly stallion and I'm wondering What the hell are you!?"
"Wow... You really did just get out of a stable guess I should give you the gist of Las Pegasus so sit down and have a drink just give me those bits your blond friend is holding they don't worth much out here"
"Well to answer your first question I'm a Gryphon you wont see many of us but if you do just know that there not as nice as me so be on guard. Next bits aren't money out here bottle caps are more valuable then any of those bits you have I just wanted to melt them down for a new sign for my bar."
"Next on the list welcome to Las Pegasus land of sins, During the zebra attack on Canterlot they utterly destroyed Equestria with the mega spell bombings and that means this land is filthy with radioactive nuclear waste not from the mega spells but because during the war magical and nuclear machinery was in high demand, You should have seen hoofinton as of late because wow that place is just the biggest danger zone ever!"
"last thing because I know this is getting boring never and I mean ever get close to the city on the clouds the magical waste there has melted the city with the clouds itself and just trying to walk on it would be like stepping in hot tar!"

I woke up in a very moldy and blood stained bed as if I didn't feel gross before I do now just thinking about all that happened on this bed. But first things first where am I?
Myu was sleeping on the corner of the bed he stayed with me while I slept so sweet!
"Daisy is helping Mareapony clean up the bar apparently you vomited from drinking way to fast and you passed out so were at Mareapony's house so you owe her and Daisy."
I slowly made my way back to uh Dirt and looks like there was now a new sign above the metal bubble of a bar that said Dirt! best bar around! in bright gold letters hope she enjoys those hard earned bits I use to have. So I put on my I'm sorry face and walk in and hot damn Daisy looks cute in that apron!
"Hilow? well guess I look good if you messed up you words like that along with the tail wagging~"
"Gingercorn you owe me for that mess from earlier and sense I know you don't have any caps you are coming with me to help keep the gizzards off my back while I go fix the water tank and I ant taken no for an answer!"
We walked out in the barely tolerable heat in silence for about ten minutes and all that was running in my mind was why is her water tank so far away and what was a gizzard but at least the second question was answered when suddenly she shot a giant reptile thing with a neck that could expand like an umbrella and was standing on only two legs and she wanted me to shoot those things!? She acts like its not even a big deal!
"Huh oh the from yesterday well my bar is like a rest stop in the dessert and when people are trying to cross it I hear many things when they get drunk but none of them puked on my table from only one bottle!"
As we eventually made our way back I saw some ponies in leather jackets harassing Daisy and well I don't like ponies messing with the mare I reeeaaallllly want in my bed.
The three young stallions surrounded me making me feel rather tiny compared to them.
They all started laughing that just made them look well like not the sharpest tool the shed. The second I tried to use my magic to reach my new gun I was suddenly very tired then everything went black.

Chapter 3 Life in Las Pegasus
Oh come on stop cheating you know I would have won that game!
I was home it looks like my room but its in the middle of the atrium all my walls are gone and the floor is melting a red gunky metallic liquid the only safe place was my bed in the distance I see me as a filly hopping across the bodies of my dead friends in stable 42 as she makes her way up on my bed with me.
"why is it lava?" I ask with concern.
"the heat melted most of the ponies don't touch it they are very upset"

Waking up I felt a pain in the back of my head I was bashed by something though I'm still burning what the hell! I was apparently shackled in a room full of steaming pipes if it wasn't hot enough outside those leather jacket ponies decided to leave me in a boiler room.
As I took in my surroundings I wasn't alone Daisy was here too her cuffs were burning her front hooves and our weapons are gone I need to get us out of here but all I can do is levita- I'm not smart at times but this is a new low the time I have a real use for a teleportation spell is the exact time I forget about it! Promising to throw my pity party later I teleport myself out of the cuffs and try to get a sleeping Daisy free. I never tried teleporting anything besides myself so I better not mess this up! My horn glowed its signature green but trying really hard it had sparks of purple and I was able to warp Daisy a few inches to the left and free of the cuffs!
"uggghhhhhh Rui? what happened to my cuffs?"
"I apparently can teleport more then myself so sorry but you happened to be my adorable little test subject" *I say in a joking manner to keep our spirits up as I examine the rusty door.
"you skipped the basics of teleportation and just did it on yourself are you mad!?" She says with both concern and humor.
"I uh nooooo..."
"yaaaay you learned how to open doors I wonder what else you can open?"
"hey Lizzalfos what's the plan with the mares we took?" Said the tall looking stallion.
"Well Bel is always looking for ponies to test his experiments on so we are going to sell them to him he will be fair with the caps so don't haggle against him unless you want to join them I learned that the hard way."
"So how does he turn you into well you?" The big stallion said with a bit of fear.
"All I remember is being strapped to a table and then he put something on my head and then nothing he does something with your mind I thought I died because I was in total darkness for what felt like an eternity... If I had to guess and this is just a guess but it might have been a memory orb or something I just know not to mess with him anymore..."
"Alright Daisy stay here and keep quiet I'm going to get my gun back."
"So the unicorn escaped and dared to try to sneak up on us stupid stable mare didn't even realize why we had all that crap in such a big room?" Apparently being a monster means bad breath and very sharp teeth.
"Well you had my shotgun and I really like it so can I please have it back? I'm begging for my gun so please give it to the nicest mare in the room."
"get out here so I can shoot you!" The big stallion says in a very angry tone.
"Fuck you! You foalnapped me!"
"huh you killed my buddies oh well guess I can't sell them to Bel then"
"Hey Lizzasomething or other! what happens when a pony is subjected to wheat larger then themselvese!"
"It's Lizzalfos! oh crap!" He looks up and sees that I teleported a main support beam holding the decaying roof making it crash on top of him I checked out the rubble and it was melting the monster had acid coming out of his mouth in a last ditch attempt I tried teleporting him but I was tapped out my gun was empty and he was face to face with me drooling acid...
"Leave my sexually confused friend alone you monster!"
"D-Daisy? How did you do that and sexually confused?"
"Mareapony said to always be prepared so I had an incendiary bullet in my mane hunting riffles are most common around Las Pegasus apparently so yeah... I feel sick can we go back now?"

As we get back to the junk town I start feeling like this is a second home now with a warm belly filled with this new food called 'meat' I go for a walk outside the edge of town partly because the last few days have made me rather jumpy and the other reason is because I had nothing to do while Daisy comes to grips with her first kill. Now I'm scared because I feel normal about this situation...
Searching through the scrap around me I found some revolver ammo now all I need is a revolver if I could ever get that lucky maybe I can buy one with the caps I found. Probably not I don't have much also where is that music coming from? Looking around I found what looked like a floating metal bug I wanted to shoot it as it floated next to me but then the music stopped and it started talking in a metallic voice.
"Your Rui Caster I presume? I have been watching you since you left your stable."
"Who are you and why have you been stalking me?"
"...Watcher you can call me that."
"Well being a heroine does sound fun whats her name and where can I find her?"
"Her name is Derpy Hooves she is a pegasus mail mare with gold crossed eyes and she is stuck in the school a mile down the road"
"Hey what's the other reason you're asking me?"
"...For one your close to her two your a friendly stable mare who has a normal sized horn and can use magic without much practice lastly you have a sense of optimism that's rather refreshing."
"wait what's there that you would say that? hello?"
