Rainbow Dash and Prism arrived at the hive’s flying course. Prism said “This is our flying course?”

Rainbow Dash said “This is quite a course, it looks like something I’d see the Wonderbolts training with.”

Prism smirked “Come on then, Rainbow Crash I’ll show you how to really fly.”

Rainbow Dash roared angrily, “Oh, I’ll show you, let’s stop with the words, let’s race already.”

Rainbow Dash landed at the start of the track and Prism did too. Rainbow nodded at her opposition and they both raced off, Rainbow looked at Prism every now and then until she bumped into Rainbow’s side slamming her into the wall. Rainbow quickly recovered and caught up.

Rainbow Dash shouted “A cheater, well that will just make it even more impressive when I win.” She accelerated to nearly my top speeds without the rainboom and had managed to maintain a solid lead until the end.

She watched as Prism had managed to catch up in burst of speed, she in response pushed herself her limits and in the last few metres pushed into a rainboom passing the finish line first. She watched as Prism stormed up to me and shouted “What in Tartarus was that, how did you increase your speed so fast?”

Rainbow Dash said “That was the Sonic Rainboom, a technique that by moving faster than sound allows me to move much faster than normal for a short time.”

Prism huffed “I can’t believe I was beaten.”

She replied cockily “Look, you have only practised for less then 6 months, I have years of practise under my belt.”

Prism snarled “Don’t treat me like a child, we adults are all Pinkie’s first daughters, we all mature fast to keep the hive running.”

Rainbow Dash responded “I’m sorry about that, I didn’t mean to offend you.”

Prism said with a wicked smirk “Well maybe if you go and fly against me on my personal course.” I nodded even though her smirk put me on edge and we flew out of the back of the mountain.

Rainbow Dash asked “Are you sure this is safe?”

Prism insulted me “Come, on are you a coward?”

Rainbow Dash shouted “No, let’s go!” We both flew forward as fast as possible avoiding the stalactites and stalagmites. She then watched as Prism flew forwards and kicked one of them which almost hit me.

Rainbow Dash dodged it quickly and snarled “Are you crazy, are you trying to kill me?”

Prism said with an evil grin “No, just making sure I win this time.” Rainbow Dash flew after the arrogant changeling and managed to catch up again after that little incident, she flew forward quickly until she had to dodge another stalactite. Shortly afterwords a sharp pain filled her wing. She screamed as she fell out of the sky and hit the side of the mountain side, and all went black.

Rainbow Dash woke up in her bed after the Grand Galloping Gala, it was a terrible day, Rainbow Dash felt restless and decided to get some air time as she couldn't sleep. As she trotted out to the balcony, she saw Rarity sitting there. Rainbow Dash noticed she was just staring up at the stars. Rainbow Dash asked “What’s wrong?”

Rarity said “It’s nothing, darling.” I could tell she was lying, there tears dropping off her face.

She said “Don’t lie to me, let it out. You’re my friend alright, just tell me what’s wrong.”

Rarity wailed into my coat as tears started to flood out “The Gala was horrible, everything I wanted is gone. All my dreams have been shattered, I just wanted to marry a handsome and noble prince only to find he is disrespectful misogynistic pig. Why did this happen to me?”

Rainbow Dash had no words to comfort her but knew that tonight hurt her more than the rest of them, this was one of her big dreams and it had been crushed tonight. Rainbow Dash wrapped both her wings around Rarity as she cried,. Rainbow Dash wasn’t one for being mushy but she knew Rarity needed this. After what seemed to be an hour she stopped crying. She asked “Do you feel better?”

Rarity smiled “A little, thanks for being here Rainbow.”

Rainbow Dash said with a smile as she unwrapped one wing “Your welcome, just don’t tell anypony I have a reputation you know.”

Rarity smiled as she said “I know, I promise to keep it secret.” I smiled back and wrapped around her with a wing.

Rainbow Dash woke up in a strange gooey bed to due to some loud noise in the room. He vision blurry and she thought she saw a white marshmallow beating up a pink winged rock on the floor. As her vision cleared it was revealed that it was Rarity slamming Prism face with her forehooves as she shouted “How dare you hurt my precious Dashie, you stupid pink excuse for a changeling. What if she dies? I will never be able tell her how I feel.”

Rainbow Dash sat up and coughed, Rarity turned around, ran up to her and gave her a big hug. Rainbow grunted in pain as she felt a pain from her back wing. Rarity gasped “I’m sorry Dashie.”

Rainbow Dash said “That’s alright, you didn’t know. I haven’t seen you cry this much since the night of the Gala.” Rainbow turned bright red as Rarity kissed her on the lips and her good wing stuck out in response.

Rainbow Dash asked confused “Wow, um what does that make us?”

Rarity asked nervously “Um, would you like to be...?”

Rainbow Dash replied with a grin “I will go out with you and we will see how it goes?”

Rarity said solemnly as she noticed the damaged wing“That wing of your is badly damaged, you won’t be able to fly again for several weeks.”

Rainbow Dash said “At least I’ll have a lovely mare beside me.” Just as she was about to give her a hug, a knife tore through Rarity’s back.

I screamed “RARITY!”

Prism snarled “That’s what you get for attacking me.”

Rainbow watched as Pinkie walked over to him lividly and snarled “Do you really think I wouldn’t notice you trying to hurt my friends, you really shouldn’t underestimate my Pinkie sense.” He shuddered before her, she proceeded to knock him through the wall.

Pinkie said calmly “I have medical personnel on the way, Prism is going to be in the jail wing for a long time after this. I really hate that he turned out like this, I guess even my kids can go bad.”

Rainbow Dash asked crying “Why are you not upset or crying about this. Rarity’s your friend too, why are you not upset?”

Pinkie said in a authoritative tone “I can’t afford to get upset right now, I am a Queen, Rainbow Dash and that means keeping one emotions under control. You are being moved into the same room as Rarity so you two can be together.”
