Pinkie’s eyes twitched as she stared at Rarity. Her wounds had begun to heal but she had not regained consciousnesses, it had been over a week. Pinkie had barely kept her emotion under control over the last few days as Rarity hadn’t recovered and one of her lings was in the Canterlot dungeons. She then looked at the Rainbow Dash who was sleeping on a chair, her damage wing bound to her side.

A changeling stallion barged in. Pinkie asked in an unnervingly calm voice “What is it? I have had enough trouble two of my friends are injured, one of my daughters is in a cell. Do you want to see me explode in anger because I’m just about too?”

The stallion said trying to keep the fear from his voice “This is important, really important. We have an unwanted guest out the front of our hive, her name is Lightning Star.”

Pinkie snarled “Just my bloody Celestia forsaken luck. As if I didn’t have enough to deal with.” Pinkie stormed out to the Hive’s entrance, a mare with a lightning blue mane and a yellow coat stood out the front, her cutie mark was a simple lightning bolt. Pinkie roared “Mother, what in Celestia’s ******* name are you doing here?! I have so much trouble lately. You know what I have no time for your ****, mother.”

Pinkie grabbed Chrysalis and teleported the both of them into the Canterlot throne room. She then cast a spell removing Chrysalis’s disguise and said smiling to Celestia “She’s your problem now, I have to finish the preparations for the arrival of the other hives as well as finish the airships in the dock.”

Chrysalis smiled as she nervously waved a hoof “Um, hi princess.” Celestia just stared at her with a fire in her eyes for several minutes. Chrysalis turned away from Celestia’s fiery glare.

Celestia snarled “Why are you here?”

Chrysalis said looking away “Um, I seeking asylum, everyling wants me dead. I ran away from the hives, I hope you will protect me or at least lock me up.”

Celestia sighed “I’ll have to make a decision with the help of my trusted advisors. We will have a verdict on what to do with you tomorrow.”

Chrysalis asked “What am I to do in the meantime?”

Celestia frowned “I’m going to keep you by my side all day, I still don’t trust you.”

Chrysalis sighed “I wouldn’t have come had I any other options, I was hoping my daughter would protect me.”

Celestia said calmly as they trotted along “After what you’ve done she is not going to forgive you so easily. I mean the council is coming here soon and you are going to be on the agenda. She put you in Equestria’s hooves so she doesn't have to make the choice between you and her hive. That choice would destroy her.”

Chrysalis cried “Why do I destroy everything for everyling I care about?”

Celestia said “Because you don’t learn, you always want more than you have. You need to stop seeking power.”

Chrysalis whimpered “But that’s all I know, that wad how my mother did it and her mother before that.”

Celestia asked “Have you ever heard the phrase the old way isn’t always the best way.”

Chrysalis replied drying her tears “No, I haven’t.”

Celestia smiled warmly “My mother always told me that, she was older than you or I easily 1 million years old.”

Chrysalis asked “I thought you were only 2000 to 3000 years old.”

Celestia sighed “I am, she adopted me and Luna when our birth parents were killed.”

Chrysalis asked “What was her name?”

Celestia said “Pale Shield, head of the Alicorn Royal Guard and the oldest living Alicorn alive.”

Chrysalis asked “What happened to her?”

Celestia said “I do not know, she could be hiding in Canterlot for all I know, another Alicorn would cause more trouble the it’s worth right now.”

Chrysalis said “I’m glad I didn’t meet her, she would have killed all of us.”

Celestia said “I have a feeling she was at my school, I felt a surge of magic around there shielding the building.”

Chrysalis nodded “Keeping my Changelings out.” Celestia frowned and nodded. They had arrived in Celestia’s room. Chrysalis gasped “Wow Starswirl’s book on levitation.”

Celestia asked “You know of him?”

Chrysalis asked “Are you kidding, I read all his books and based several of my spells based on his?”

Celestia blinked “Really, he never told me that during me that during his time teaching me.”

Chrysalis eyes widened in shock “I can’t believe it, I’m speaking with one of Starswirl’s students.”

Celestia said “Yes I was before his disappearance.”

Chrysalis sighed “We all knew of his disappearance, he taught our race magic and gave us his books. He told us it was his dream that all species could use magic with proper teaching.”

Celestia said “Yes he did.” She then smiled “How about we read through some of his notes together, I have a copy of all his books?”

Chrysalis smiled “I’ll love that.”

A voice said “Um Prince Blueblood wants you.”

Celestia said “Tell Prince Blueblood I’m having a day off and he’s in charge. I’m sure he’ll understand after 1000 years of solo rule, 1 day off isn’t much.” Chrysalis and Celestia spent the rest of the day delving into Starswirl’s books.

Chrysalis woke up the next morning totally confused as to where she was. She tried to move only to see a large white leg over her. She blinked in confusion as she saw Celestia sleeping beside and on top of her, she then sighed as remembered what happened the previous day. She realised it was still dark as Celestia hadn’t raised the sun yet.

She then frowned as she saw the sun rising despite Celestia sleeping. She then noticed the pink aura around it and her eyes widened. In the next moment she heard Pinkie scream “Celestia!”

Chrysalis sighed as Celestia jumped in response causing her to fall of the bed. Celestia yawned “Why is Pinkie screaming?”

Chrysalis frowned “Because she had to raise the sun.” Celestia froze for a moment and then slowly turned to the door only for it to fly off it’s hinges.

Pinkie roared “How dare you, I am tired and stressed enough without having to fill in for you? First you had a day off yesterday which I had to fill in for and then I even have to raise the sun.” Pinkie stormed out leaving 1 shocked Princess and another shocked ex-Queen.

After Celestia regained her wits, she said “We better get to the council, we need to make an official decision on your fate.” Chrysalis shuddered that the thought of her punishment. Celestia asked “Why did you invade Canterlot during Cadence’s wedding?”

Chrysalis sighed “Because I thought having another 4 Royal eggs was wise and my hive suffered once Pinkie was no longer providing love for us.”

Celestia said “That explain why the attack was so ill prepared, if you failed to take me down you all would have been in trouble.”

Chrysalis said “Yes, I only has 6 months to work with. The lack of love from Pinkie’s partying really got to us. I was pretty starved before encountering Shining Armour.” The pair arrived in the council room, 3 unicorns were sitting at a large round table beside Luna. Celestia took a seat next to Luna while Chrysalis sat at the other end.

Pinkie said “Anypony have an complaints before we start.

A blue unicorn with a white mane and a beaker for a cutie mark said “This is unnecessary, she is an enemy of the state. She should be executed.”

Pinkie frowned “Equestria doesn’t execute anymore Head Alchemist Zephyr, it’s under paragraph 20, line 31 of the peace accords that have been around since the bloody years when thousand of innocent Ponies, Gryphons, Zebra, Minotaurs, Dragons and even a few Changelings were executed for crimes they didn’t commit.”

Prince Blueblood said “That is correct. I’m glad someone other than me and the Princesses knows the laws of Equestria.”

The other unicorn who had a red coat and black mane said “She does need to be punished but that isn’t the Equestrian way, we should lock her in a cell.”

Celestia said “Lord Flame Force, there is the option to put as a refuge and give her a chance to redeem herself.”

Alchemist Zephyr snarled “That is too light a sentence.”

Prince Blueblood sighed “I am with Auntie on this, after why I did at the Gala I shouldn’t be here.”

Lord Flame Force said “Well you’ve been overruled Blueblood, we say no.”

Luna said “I believe she should have a second chance, she deserves the same second chance I got, a chance to prove herself.”

Prince Blueblood sighed “Celestia you have the deciding vote.”

Lord Flame Force argued “We are the council, we have right to power overrule the Princesses Decisions.”

Pinkie said “No, you have the power to overrule one of the Princesses, not both.” You are there to keep the peace between them so there isn’t a repeat of the Nightmare Moon incident.”

Celestia said “Me and Luna are in agreement, this meeting is adjourned.”

Pinkie said with a smirk “Just one more thing, I believe due to her actions she shouldn’t leave the castle without a royal escort.’

Celestia winked at Chrysalis “I agree.” Chrysalis blinked confused at what just happened.
