Chapter 14, Ze Plan

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

"Hello, Frizzlepop," greeted my dad to the former rogue.

"Sir," said former rogue bowed in respect, then lifted her head with a solemn expression, "we have to attend... (i)the(/i) meeting."

My dad sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose, while I simply rolled my eyes and propped my feet comfortably on his desk, checking my nails as if uninterested. He looked at me momentarily, but then tore off his gaze knowing that he can't stop me.

"It's still held at the townhall, right?"

"Yes, sir."

"Tell them we'll be there. At what time, exactly?"

"2:30, sir."

"2:30 it is."

"Duly noted, sir."

I decided to take matters in my own hands. Politely asking her never works, pleading never works, and somehow she wouldn't come out with violence... But I haven't tried so I wouldn't know, but that's too much to bargain for. So my only option is to spy on her, and I don't mean to be creepy and all, but I want to find out the truth. Why this feeling is stirring in me, why sparks fly when I look into her eyes, or why she tried to seduce me at the party, and pretty much all of what confusing things she does to me.

I set up my plan immediately as I stepped into my bedroom and estimated the time I needed to find out my desired answers.

Two-three hours tops.

I would need a place to hide if I wanted to be able to do this. I can wear something that fits the color of the walls of her house, but that would bust me when I'm trying to hide in the shadows, if for some reason there are any, given that everything is shining with either the chandeliers or their own bling.

I relented on the thought of black suit. It wouldn't hide me well in the light. I can't wear white either, it would do the same thing in the dark. So I need something in-between, maybe grey. Yes, that would work.

Only, I'd have to buy one.

But finding a suit like that is very rare... Rare...

Rarity!

"Let me get this straightened out. You, want (i)me(/i), to make (i)you(/i) a suit, fit for a burglar on a jailbreak? Twilight, darling, have you hit your hard these couple of days?" Rarity sat neatly on her couch, poised and refined-looking, as per usual, with her hands tucked neatly on her lap.

"Yes," I answered, "I mean, no, I didn't hit my head, and yes I want the grey suit tailored as soon as possible." The last sentence was rushed and too fidgetty for comfort.

"Darling, hate to be a nuisance for asking the same question over again, but whatever do you need it for?"

(i)Should I tell her the truth?(/i)

I've thought long enough to say, "same answer, I can't, Rarity. It's... Kind of personal."

"Hmm... Very well, if I can't get you to " come out of the hay," I'll just sew the outfit for you. Come back maybe a little late in the night? At least, six o'clock," she said as she took a glance at her watch, which read 3:27 pm.

That was convenient. That would mean I'd have to pick up the suit an hour before my backups would arrive.

"Sure, that would do," I said and stood up, but was stopped by Rarity holding up her palm.

"If you can't tell me what the suit is for, could you at least tell me how it came to this?" She gestured for me to sit down once more, and I didn't want to be rude, so I did.

"Well... It was all because of that party," I looked to the side, but at least it wasn't a lie. It (i)was(/i) about the party, it's what started it, but it was about Sunset Shimmer as well.

"Very well then, but just know, Twilight. If you have a secret to keep, don't keep it from those close to you," Rarity smiled gently and stood up, lending her hand at me, and so I took it and followed her suite to the door.

"Thanks, Rarity. Sorry I couldn't tell you, it's too personal to share."

"Oh, think nothing of it. Now, off you go, dear, I'll be getting your outfit ready by the time you get here," she said with a hint of determination and excitement.

"Thanks again, Rares!" I waved at her and turned to walk off towards my own house, which was just a few blocks away.

"Anytime, dear!"

And now, I only have to wait and evaluate some more of my plan. That way, I can make Plan A-Plan Z like a cakewalk.

OH CRAP I FORGOT TO MAKE ONE FOR SPIKE AND PINKIE!

I immediately dialed Pinkie's number, then conference called it with Spike's.

"Hello?" The familiar voice of Pinkie sounded from the device, sounding like she repeated the word.

"Hey, who's there, Pinkie?" Asked a bewildered male voice.

"Hey, Spike! Hey, Pinkie! Listen, do you happen to have..."

The wind was rather cool as I stepped off my premises, having already eaten breakfast. As I made my way towards Rarity's, I started recounting my plans.

Plan A-simply climb her window, find her, spy on her

Plan B-if someone caught you, run for your life and hide, if you can

Plan C-IF Sunset was the one who saw you, quickly pray and make a dash for the nearest window.

And so on and so forth. Finally, I arrived. The lights were on in Rarity's boutique, and so I knocked and waited anxiously.

"Come in," sang a muffled voice.

I complied quickly and spotted Rarity in front of her sewing machine, stitching away one of her creations as she focused on pulling the needle in and out of the fabric.

"Welcome to Rarity's boutique, where everything is shique, unique, and magnifique." She made a move to stand up, "what can I-" and upon seeing me, she stopped mid sentence and beamed, "-Twilight, well aren't you the early bird."

"Sorry," I smiled sheepishly, still fidgeting, "I couldn't wait."

"No problem, dear. Lucky for you, I finished your order not a few minutes ago." She went straight to the corner where she kept the clothes she make for clients, and pulled out the exact outfit that I had requested.

I ran over to her and hugged her, to which startled her at first, but then giggle and returned the friendly gesture.

"Thank you (i)so(/i) much, Rares! I don't know what I'd do without you!"

"Think nothing of it," she said as per usual.

"Wait, I think I have a few dollars here." I reached down to the purse that I seldomly carry.

"Oh, no, keep it! The outfit is yours for free!"

"Wow... Rarity, I don't know what to say... I appreciate this."

"Oh, anything I'd do for a friend. Now take this... Dreadful clothing and fix whatever you're trying to fix," she grinned like there's no tomorrow and ushered me outside. I laughed and nodded, running down the streets and to my house to try on my new outfit.

I stood at the entryway of the Shimmer household, a.k.a. the humongous gate.

"This will tell me everything," I said dramatically and put on my mask.

"No, it won't, silly, it's a house, it can't talk," interrupted Pinkie Pie, who's at my side with her own black suit, that she said she had ever since grade school, that was only halfway on her, "or does it?"

"Pinkie, keep quiet!"-I quickly covered her mouth, preventing further words from coming out of it-"There could be a guard out here!"

"Twilight, Twilight, you never learn," Pinkie said with a chuckle after removing my hand with incredible strength, "there won't be any guards out here because it's not the castle that pony me and pony you and dragon Spike that went to before."

I blinked deliriously. "Say what now?"

"Duh, coast is clear," Pinkie sang.

"Dragon me," asked a baffled Spike, who stood at my other side, zippering up half of his suit that was similar to mine. Oh, little brother of mine. I had asked where he got it, he just said, and I quote, "just went to a Power Pony convention, I got this suit from one of the sellers. It's the burglar from the comics."

"Shhh, we gotta keep quiet! We're supposed to be sneaky, remember," I huffed at them in annoyance.

"Whoops, sorry-dopey," Pinkie pouted and put on her suit properly.

"I should have gotten a size L," Spike grumbled as he tried to squeeze into the suit, but it successfully covered all of him in the end.

"You all ready?"

"Yepperonni!" "Bring it!"

"Alright, let's go inside," after I said that, I pulled up my mask over my mouth and threw up a grappling hook over the large gate.

I've checked if there are any sorts of surveillance system, but there were none by the gate so far, so I deemed it safe.

"Coast is clear guys, move it," I whispered to them harshly and climbed up the grappling hook's attachment.

"Okie dokie lokie," Pinkie sang and hopped onto the rope, making it wiggle and loosen a bit.

"Pinkie," I gasped involuntarily and tried to steady the rope again.

"Whoopsy, sorry-dizzy-pizzy," she smiled sheepishly and climbed more calmly now.

"This suit is too tight," Spike complained, "how come I never noticed this before?"

"Shhh!" And I resumed climbing up.

Once we got up the gate, I threw the rope down to the other side, the hook still intact. I can tell it's gonna be a long walk. I jumped off the rope and landed softly on the ground, grinning triumphantly as my vision cleared from the bars of the gate.

"Weeeeee!"

Before I could even look up, I was then forced onto the ground by an unbelievable weight crushing my bones.

"P-Pin-kie," I wheezed and tried to claw my way out.

"Oopsies!"

And the weight was off. I breathed more deeply and sat up, but then a cry sounded and I was once again on the ground.

"Sorry, I couldn't get a good hold on the rope," Spike quickly scrambled to his feet and held a hand for me.

I grumbled.
