(Unedited)Chapter 15, Odd Miss Pie

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

After several minutes of bouncing and sneaking around, we're finally at the door. I checked for any cameras, but so far, found none. Funny, and I thought houses like this have some form of security.

"Let's get in," I whispered and went to the nearest unlocked window.

We, I mean I, tiptoed through the large structure, with Spike walking casually and Pinkie hopping around. I tried to keep my annoyance in as these two don't seem to be helping me at all.

But who am I to say that?

"So, we're supposed to look for Sunset's room. I already know where it is, so all we have to do is sneak in and try not to get caught by absolutely anyone!"

When I heard no reply, I pivoted my head towards the two trailing behind me to see that they were both engaged in a conversation with each other.

"So you've been to Australia fifteen times already? Just to check on your bakery branch?!"

"Eeyup!"

"No way!"

"Yes way!"

"Would you two get your heads in the situation?! We are in someone else's mansion and trying to snoop, yet you talk about bakeries?!" My glare was the best I could do to contain myself.

"Yep!" "Yepperoni."

My eye twitched as I halted, making them both stop and look at me. I must've been in one heck of a facial expression because the next thing I know, Pinkie shivered and trotted beside me.

"You know, Twilight, you shouldn't stress things like this too much, you'll get old faster."

"So breaking into someone's house is not a big deal," I deadpanned with a "sue you" face.

"Well, not exactly. I mean, if you want it to, probably. But I mean, look around! Do you see a single soul around here?"

And that, I did, but to both my relief and dismay, Pinkie was right. There wasn't anyone.

I sighed, then smiled at her gently.

"Fine. But I still need you two to focus, we might get spotted unaware."

"Okie dokie lokie!" "Phew."

I rolled my eyes and continued to lead them both through a series of hallways, corridors, and doors, trying to look for the staircase leading upstairs. Taking the elevator is way too risky, so it wasn't even an option to try it.

"I can't seem to find it," I muttered as I glanced sideways, looking for any doors.

"Maybe we should ask Sunset! She's probably in her room," Pinkie pointed at my front, so I turned and did a double take as I saw the very door Sunset trapped me in.

"Huh. How'd I miss that?"

I took the initiative and stepped forward, turning the knob, and slowly, I pushed it open enough to see inside. No-one seemed to be here. I pushed it all the way open upon confirming the coast is clear and immediately, as if guided by instinct, I breathed in the smell of my m-frenemy... Mortal nemesis, I mean.

It's getting hard to think in here.

"Hey, lookey what I found," Pinkie giggled and held up a... Toy.

"Pinkie! Not that kind of snooping," I whispered to her hushly as a flustered blush swept across my cheeks.

"Awe, it's all in good fun," she disappointedly put the thing back where she found it and

A few minutes of digging through stuff, we got nothing but disarrayed clothes, cigarettes, even weed in several drawers, but nothing out of the ordinary for Sunset Shimmer. I at least kept some of the weed to myself, you know, for evidence to Principal Celestia if there will ever be a time when I would really report her. So far, I'm held back by conscience, curiosity, and something else entirely that I couldn't quite fathom at the moment.

"Uh... Guys? Might wanna take a look at this," Spike said nervously as he looked horrified at the mini refrigerator beside the closet.

"What is it, Spike," I instinctively asked and went closer to examine.

"Oooh, is it another one of those super fun toys she got," Pinkie laughed with a snort, "teehee, I even counted three vibrators, a dildo and a double-sided dildo!"

"What? Eww, Pinkie!"

"Oooh, and a butt plug!"

"Pinkie!!!"

"Whaaaat?"

"You have to stop saying things like that... So.... Free..." I trailed off as I saw what was in the fridge.

There, amongst all the expensive liquor, stood three medical bags filled with...

"Is that... Blood," I gasped, bewildered beyond my wits.

"Uh oh," I heard a faint whisper from Pinkie, but I ignored it and grabbed a bag and held it closer to my face. It had a tag stating, and I will leave out some things for simplicity;

Canterlot Medical Center
Blood donation
Patient: Sunset Shimmer

Those were the main things that caught my eyes, the others seemed gibberish and junk. Uncharacteristic for me, yes, but the only statements that matter in that tag are those three. So Sunset is secretly ill? If so, then what kind of desease? Is it possibly something as critical as Cancer or HIV? She seemed healthy to me! She couldn't possibly be sick. But then what of the blood bags?

I blinked several times to confirm reality, and it is.

"What do you think, fishy enough," I asked through my fixation on the bag I held.

"Pretty much. After all, who would keep something like this? It's not everyday!" Spike looked at the bag alongside me and poked it, watching as it wiggled a little.

"Uhmm... Hey, I know, why don't we all look for more evidence? Hehe," Pinkie nervously piped up between us, and proceeded to glide through the room.

Who could blame her for being nervous, huh? She probably never saw blood her entire life! And now here it is, a bag of them, still fresh it seemed and in the grasp of none other than me.

Why would Sunset keep something like this? There is still a lot more questions I needed answered, and so I followed Pinkie's advice and kept looking through absolutely (i)everything(/i). From small crevices to the top of the closet. No such luck. But then there was one place we didn't look into yet, and that's under the bed.

"Spike, have you any flashlight," I asked and held out my palm.

"Yeah, how could I forget? You called me 4 times for that emergency kit you always make me carry around." He rolled his eyes and handed me the flashlight, which he grabbed from his toolbelt.

"Well, it's not really a kit if it's a belt, right?" I crouched down and turned on the device I grasped.

"Yeah, yeah, logical as usual, (i)princess(/i)."

"Shh!"

So I kept rummaging. The underside looked worse than the whole room combined. If the room was all discarded clothing, weed, and smoke ashes, what's under is triple times that. Boxes, boxes, and even more boxes! Piled with dust, grime, and even a few laundry. I coughed and waved a hand to my face. It was as if this was already an ancient house from the Mediterranean years.

Unless I want to dig into every single box in there, then I'll turn out empty handed. Unless...

"Pinkie, can you Pinkie-guess what's in these boxes," I asked.

"Nummm..." When afterwards I only earned silence, I turned to face said party planner to see that she had her lips tucked in in a manner of when Applejack lies.

"Pinkie?"

She squeaked and desperately shut her mouth, closing her eyes as she clenched her fists at her sides.

"Pinkie, you know you could tell me. I mean, you just told us about those toys no problem, why is it so hard now?"

"..uh... I... Uh... I COULDN'T GUESS IT, BYE!" Before I could process what is going on, only a flash of pink and an open window told me that she was ran off.
