Rarity watched in amazement as Mirage got up, broken leg, bruised ribs, a knife in his shoulder, even his kneecaps were blown out, but he was still walking towards her with a big toothy grin on his face, showing his tongue was bleeding.

“Are you… okay?” Rarity asked stupidly, holding the tiny foal

“Does it…” Mirage swallowed some blood, “Does it look like I’m okay?” he asked, sarcastically

“Somepony help him!” Applejack shouted, running to his side

The other 4 ponies helped him inside and laid him down on a bed close to where Vinyl was, Rainbow Dash remained outside, staring at the helpless murderer Soarin, who was now begging for his life.

“Mirage?” Vinyl asked, looking towards him

“Can you heal those wounds Twilight?” Applejack asked, trying to see what all happened

“Maybe, let me see if it’s severe” Twilight said, her horn starting to glow,

“Oh my” she said, turning away,

“What is it? A party?” Pinkie Pie asked, not knowing anything of what had happened,

“No, it’s three broken ribs, a broken leg, all of his kneecaps are blown out, a knife is in his shoulder which cut an artery, his skull has a small crack in it, his heart is barely beating, his jaw is almost broken, and I’m not certified for this!” Twilight yelled,

The four ponies stood in shock of all the damage done, and Twilight’s sudden outburst

“Fuck certification! I got this” Fluttershy said, pushing the ponies aside

“What?” Rarity asked in shock, Fluttershy had never cursed before, let alone raise her voice.

“Fluttershy!” Twilight yelped, almost as shocked as Rarity

“Shut up and stand back” Fluttershy said, going to work on Mirage.

“Told you Mirage” Mirage’s father said, in Mirage’s unconscious mind,

“Where am I?” Mirage asked, seeing only darkness

“Your back Home” his father said, almost cooing

Mirage was suddenly in an old room; he looked around, seeing foal toys and empty cups,

The door to the room opened, and he saw a Purple and Black colt walk in, sobbing

“It’s just a sprain, grow up!” A Red and Black stallion said, as he swung opened the door and grabbed the colt,

“Ow! Dad that hurts! Stop!” The colt said, flailing his good legs around

“You wanna feel pain Mirage? Here you go!” the father said, twisting the colts good leg,

Mirage’s vision slowed, he could see inside of the colt’s leg, he watched the bone snap in half, and felt pain in his own leg,

Mirage knew what he was witnessing, it was him and his father, but, his father had died when he was born, hadn’t he?

Just as the colt shrieked, the stallion threw him up against a wall, Mirage’s vision could now see a little crack form on the colt’s skull, and next his father picked him up and punched him in the ribs, again, Mirage could see three of them break, he raised his hoof again and punched him in the face, almost breaking his jaw,

Mirage could feel all the pain coming from his past self, he charged at his father, only to go right through him, you can’t touch a memory.

The little colt, screamed for help, only to be stabbed in the shoulder, silencing him.

“Your mother’s gone, and no pony can here you” His father said with a smile,

He grabbed the colt again, and flew into the air, breaking through the roof, and then dropping him at a high altitude; the little colt flapped his tiny wings and tried to stop the fall, but was only greeted by the ground, blowing out his kneecaps.

The stallion walked over to Mirage and faded into a mist, entering Mirage’s body.

Mirage was jolted from his dream, waking up screaming, the surgery was over, and it was nighttime, he woke up Vinyl, who was asleep next to him

“Mirage! Calm down!” she said, putting her hoof in his mouth,

Tears streamed from his eyes, he couldn’t help it, Vinyl noticed this and took her hoof out.

“Did I kick you in my sleep?” she asked in a panicked voice, “Are you okay?” she asked, pulling up the blankets and checking him over,

Mirage just closed his eyes, gripped his head and screamed, cringing at the pain from the pressure on the broken one.

“Did you have a nightmare?” Vinyl asked,

Mirage nodded quickly, opening his eyes to look at her,

“Oh sweetie” she said, holding him in her embrace, “What happened?”

“It… It was my dad… he tried to… kill… kill me” he said between sobs,

“Your dad wasn’t around when you were a filly” Vinyl said, trying to calm him down,

“Lies, the books are lies” Mirage said, panicking

“It’s just a night-“

“No! No it’s not, it was real!” Mirage said, cutting her off,

“Mirage… How can you know?” She asked, stroking his mane,

"I- I just know..." He said, slowing his breathing,

"Mirage, are you okay darling?" Rarity asked, snapping Mirage's mind away from the previous night.

"Oh, Yeah I'm fine" He said, looking towards her "How's Rain Whisper?"

"Oh she is just marvelous, do you want me to bring her to you?" She asked, her eyes lightening up

"Yes Please." Mirage said, trying to get up

"Mirage, don't get up!" she yelped, almost pushing him back down

Mirage got to his feet easily and managed to walk around.

"How are you-?"

"Vampony" He said, cutting her off, "Only three things can kill me, Silver, Sharp Wood and Garlic" he explained,

"Really?" Rarity asked, "Does it still hurt when you break bones?"

"Oh yeah, it still hurts, I just heal a lot faster than anypony" He said, showing the now minor bruises on his ribcage.

"Mirage?" Rainbow Dash said from the entrance to the room, holding Rain Whisper

"Oh... Hi Rainbow..." He said, still feeling bad for her,

"How are you sweetie?" Rarity asked,

"I- I'm fine" Rainbow said, bowing her head to fight back tears "I brought Whisper"

"Thank you" Mirage said, holding out his hooves for the foal,

"Can I talk to you in private Mirage?" she said, giving Rain Whisper to him,

"Sure... Rarity can you step out for a second?" He asked,

"Sure" she said, narrowing her eyes at Rainbow Dash

Rarity walked out of the room, leaving Mirage, Rainbow Dash and Rain Whisper alone.

"What do you want to talk about?" Mirage asked, cradling the foal

"Princess Celestia" Rainbow Dash said,

"What about her?" Mirage asked,

"Something about her changed" She said, looking serious

"Yeah, and?" Mirage asked, meeting her gaze

"It makes me wonder if she was ever the right one to fight with in the first place"

"Me too" Mirage said, looking at the foal, her bright red eyes stared up at him, she smiled, showing off two tiny fangs

Her being a Vampony didn't surprise him, just confused him, they had intercourse before he was bit, not after

"Do you think we should go to Luna's side?" she asked,

"What?" Mirage asked, looking up with a shocked look on his face

"I got in contact with an Alicorn after the fight; we flew to their hideout-"

"What? How did you escape?" Mirage asked,

"I was let go, I brought them back here-"

"You WHAT?!" Mirage shrieked,

"C'mon were all getting ready to leave to there" She said

Was Mirage dreaming? Did Rainbow Dash just invite him to go to an enemy side?

"You’re going to have to kill me first" he said, defensively

"I knew this wouldn't work" Rainbow said raising her hoof,

Mirage's world blacked out. He fell to the floor, knocked smooth out.

An Alicorn and Pegasus were positioned behind him, the Alicorn had the foal wrapped in Magic, keeping her from falling.

"Don't worry, He'll be fine" Aero said, rubbing his hoof.
