Your Human and You: Adventures of the Griffon Girl
Fun with Mr.Murderous Feather Brain
Previous ChapterNext ChapterI sat with my thoughts slowly drowning my less intelligent urges out of my brain. I was currently stuck in the corner of the dining, because Celectia didn't allow me to come to eat at the dinner table with them because I was human. Other humans tentatively stood and sat with me, chirping. Some were extremely young, a little younger than 5 years old in human years. I looked them over and stood tall over the little ones. I was their alpha, I thought. Regardless of who their master was, I was their alpha.
This thought frightened me, that it was this easy. Fylakas had rarely left my side, but that was not the same for Slasher, who had seemed to in fact, forget my intelligence. I could barely feel my heart beating as I ate the annoying same meal as yesterday. My meals had switched from 3 meals a day, to two meals a day consisting of a scrap of meat and an apple. This had led to me waking up in the middle of the night crying in painful hunger. The princess, herself, doesn't understand that they treat me differently. Talon had began to sneak me extra food during the night, and I took to it with an intense liking. After, he would turn to leave, and I would hug him as tightly as I could.
Talon had openly protested to the small twice a day feeding that I was receiving. Celectia assured him I was fine, but he insisted that I be fed more. Claw silently agreed, and Rue as well, but Slasher remained blissfully unaware. This began to annoy me beyond thoughts.
But... It was showing talon cared. He nuzzled me, and openly trotted up to me with a bowl of mashed potatoes and carrot stew. It smelled divine... It was enveloped in a golden aura before I could take a bite. I let out an audible whine of frustration. She trotted over and whopped me in the back of a head with a scroll gently.
"What have I told you about feeding her? Griffon and Pony foods are bad for humans without the proper preparations!" She glanced at Talon with a small look of disappointment. He was shaking as he snatched the stew back from her, and handed it to me.
Talon had finally had enough, and he blew up on the princess. He blew off his frustrations on her, and I shook slightly behind them. I felt a whimper from beside me and I looked to my left, seeing a little kid look at me with pleading puppy dog eyes and a quivering lip. I blocked out the fight, and started portioning out small bites to all the little ones who eagerly ate and waited next to me. They had their fill soon enough, and I took one of their faces and pressed my forehead to theirs. I closed my eyes, and offered the rest of my meal to Fylakas. He took it, also finding it hard to resist the food. Claw was astonished from across the room, and the children were gasping and chirping as they scampered off to their handlers and mothers. I remained, closing my eyes. Fylakas chirped to me, and I listened.
=Baladia? why'd you give up your meal like that?= I shook my head and noticed that Talons screeching had turned to quiet argumentative speech with the princess.
=Well... Because I know the other Alpha never would have done that. I want respect.= He nodded in understanding as I tuned back into the argument.
"How could you possibly know more about MY human than ME?!" Talon was snarling.
"If I recall correctly, your younger sister claimed the human as her own, Talon!" She looked like she was slightly offended.
"That doesn't matter! She's been FINE with the diet that my family provided her! Do you have any idea how loud she howls at night when she wakes up SCREAMING for FOOD?!" His tears threw me through a loop.
His words through Celectia through a loop. She had never heard me howl in the night, and neither has Luna I presume. Everything was mostly silent for a few minutes, and then he nudged me back onto his back. "I didn't think so... I'm going." He lifted up and trotted out of the room, slowly trotting away from the dining room. Fylakas followed, but Rue clicked for him to stay.
He looked at me unsure, but did as Rue requested. I was left alone with the murderous Griffon that dragged me into this mess at the very beginning. I couldn't say I wasn't a bit scared. My heart pounded for a second, but then I remembered all those times he brought me food in the middle of the night. I leaned upon him and relaxed. He looked at me, and gave a dry, hollow coo. He stopped in front of the door to the gardens, and I gave a small sigh. This was going to possibly be relaxing.
He trotted out into a more secluded part of the gardens, laying with a book in his front claws, and me sitting in between his front claws as he read aloud. He was rather slow, making me be believe I knew what he was doing. He was using me as a wind down tool. He had never done this before, but I'm guessing he did it to the egg before we arrived here in Canterlot. He read slowly, stumbling over big words like "extraterrestrial" and "environment". It was understandable.
I became bored though, and began to fidget with his feathers. His crest fluffed and he purred, slowly leaning down and just laying his head on my body, trapping me. I was unable to move now, and I was forced to pet him. I rolled my eyes, and continued to pet and try and smooth out his feathers. They had a pinkish undertone, while Slasher and Claw had orange. Wench had a greenish undertint to her white patches of feathers too.
I began to feel the urgent need to squirm. I began to silently cackle, the purring had began to tingle for a moment. He nuzzled me, making the feeling worse. I was glad his eye's were closed, and he wasn't paying attention. He slowly began to slip into a sleep, a peaceful light purr was heard from him. I let out an audible groan before letting her go. I readjusted myself to a more comfortable position and began to doze. I liked finally being able to sleep with a griffon who wouldn't treat me like a baby.
I found myself in a white void in front of a golden griffon statue. It was engraved with some sort of inscription. Something that felt familiar. Soon, I began to find myself falling from the golden statue, and falling towards a more gray void, where I passed a pair of red and yellow eyes, and I fell straight through the ring of fire, the battle arena as I labeled it was impressive. It really was. I fell, calmly, through the grey and straight into the black abyss below me. It was pitch dark here, and I could barely make out a form in the darkness, strange and twisting, like a river. It felt like I was being watched, and my fall slowed to a hover. I could squinted, watching the approaching figure. A gasp erupted from me as I saw the equine form of Luna with ponies with vampiric fangs, red eye's and bat wings behind her. It was all I could see for a while. A white unicorn appeared with strange electric blue, unruly hair glared from the darkness, and with one word, they began to attack and feed on my blood.
I awoke with a start and clung to Talon, and Talon jolted awake and nuzzled and nudged me, trying to help me calm down. I held on to his feathers, sobbing like a baby as I looked around with fear. There was a glimpse of something darting behind the tree, and I screeched, cowering behind Talon. Talon lifted me up, and trotted back to his room as quickly as he could, and I looked back to see things darting into shadows. I whimpered and shook, feeling only safe when the door was locked with the magic password that Talon had set. He crawled into bed, and only fell back to sleep with me after I had been calmed to the point of just shaking.
Long nights are to come.
