Unexpected Desires

An Awkward Breakfast

Once everypony was downstairs and had sat down for breakfast, things seemed a bit odd. Twilight, who was normally fairly talkative and held her head up, was eating in silence and had her head down. Starlight was the first to notice this and asked, "Twilight, are you ok? You're never this quiet and you never sit there with your head down."

Twilight held her head up a bit and replied, "I'm doing ok, I just have some things on my mind."

This brought out a look of curiosity from Starlight. She asked, "Things on your mind? What sorts of things?"

Starlight's question only increased Twilight's desire to reveal her feelings but knew that the right situation would have to come along and for that to happen, someone would have to be absent. She cast her gaze at Spike and asked, "Spike, do you think you could go out for a while today? Starlight and I have some studying to do and we need to be alone."

This brought out more curiosity from Starlight and a gasp of shock from Spike. He asked, "What? Why in Equestria do you two need to be alone?"

Starlight added, "What's wrong with him being here Twilight? I don't know what could be going on that he couldn't be around."

Twilight replied, "Oh I just want to talk about some things, I just want us to have a mare to mare talk."

Starlight couldn't help but wonder what she meant by that but her paranoid side was telling her that whatever it was, that it wasn't good. She nervously replied, "Alright."

Spike sighed, "Alright Twilight, once breakfast is over I'll go out and find something to do."

Twilight replied, "Good, very good."

Further Studying

After they finished breakfast and Spike headed out, Starlight wanted to find out what was going on. She asked, "Twilight, what is going on? What is this mare to mare talk you want to talk about and why did you send Spike out while we have this talk?"

Twilight again lowered her head a bit, blushed and replied, "Oh you'll find out but first I think we should do some studying."

This caused Starlight's concerns to ease a bit as she asked, "So what are we going to be studying anyway?" She lowered her voice and continued, "Please be magic, please be magic, please be magic."

Twilight grabbed the same book on pony relationships that she had yesterday and replied, "I'm sorry Starlight but it won't be magic. We have more information in this book that we have to study."

Starlight did a facehoof and sighed, "Really? We studied so much pony relationship material yesterday. What else could there possibly be to study in there?"

Twilight held her head down, blushed deeply and replied, "Oh, there is plenty more."

Starlight was starting to become suspicious of Twilight's constant blushing and her inability to look her directly in the eyes. She asked, "Twilight, why are you blushing so much and why can't you look me straight in the eyes?"

Twilight replied, "I'll tell you after we do some more studying, alright?"

This seemed to be a rather vague and odd response coming from a pony who is usually so rational thinking. She sighed, "Alright."

Twilight laid the book down on a table, sat right next to her and they began to study further. The topic seemed kind of odd to Starlight. She asked, "Physical touch and strengthening relationships? How would physical touch strengthen a friendship?"

Twilight scooted closer to Starlight, put her wing around her and replied, "Just keep reading Starlight and you'll find out."

They continued to read onward and it wasn't just Starlight that was learning new things, but so was Twilight as she had never read much of anything in the book they were studying. Twilight began to tighten her grip on Starlight and started massaging her shoulder, sending shivers up and down her spine.

Starlight asked, "I'm not complaining any as you massaging my shoulder feels really good but why are you doing it? All of this is so unlike you."

Twilight was in a state of shock. She couldn't believe how Starlight couldn't tell that she had feelings for her. She had been giving subtle hints, blushing, and been unable to look her in the eyes, she had been sitting close to her and then she had been rubbing her shoulder. She couldn't help but wonder if Starlight was so much more rational thinking than her that she would ever be able to tell. She tightened her grip on her student further and said, "Just keep on reading."

Starlight finally had enough of Twilight's mysterious answers and beating around the bush. She asked, "Twilight, I know something is running through your mind and I'm really curious. What is it?"

Twilight flipped ahead a few pages in the book to the section involving showing affection towards those a pony who has a crush on. She pulled Starlight close, blushed deeply, pointed to the book and replied, "Just read it and you will find out."

Starlight began to read and her jaw dropped open. She read that everything Twilight had been doing were the signs of a crush. She asked, "A crush, you have a crush on me?"

Twilight blushed deeply, "Well it is a bit more than a crush Starlight. I have feelings for you, very deep feelings."

Starlight sat there with a stunned look on her face. She never imagined that anypony, especially a pony that she had such a turbulent past with, would have any kind of feelings for her beyond that of friendship. She asked, "You have deep feelings for me, such as feelings of lo......"

Before she could finish her sentence, she found herself in a tight lip lock with Twilight. She wasn't exactly sure how to react but did what she thought would be right. She pulled Twilight into an embrace and deepened the kiss. As she pulled Twilight closer to her, she felt hooves moving down her sides towards her flank.

As those hooves continued to move down and eventually reached her flank, they went straight to where her cutie marks were and began to massage them. This sent shivers up and down her spine and she knew exactly what to do, she did the same to Twilight. The two began to moan as they were massaging one another. At that moment Starlight felt a sense of pure bliss. Just earlier that day, she was panicking a bit over her nightmare and suddenly she felt like everything was perfect. Twilight finally pulled out of the kiss and asked, "Now do you know what that mare to mare talk was about? Now do you know why I wanted Spike to be gone?"

Twilight still had her hooves on Starlight's cutie marks as she dreamily replied, "Yes Twilight, yes I do."

Twilight stood up, pulled Starlight up with her and asked, "Starlight, what do you say we go more in depth with that mare to mare talk in my bedroom?"

Starlight had a huge smile on her face as she replied, "I think that sounds great, lets go!"

Everything that had developed was something that Starlight had never imagined. Dating back to shortly after she was reformed, she had found Twilight attractive but did her best to hide that. For so long she had kept an overly rational mindset to hide things but now that was no longer necessary, she no longer had to hide her secret feelings since Twilight had revealed hers.
