MLP: The Purge

After two years of watching the Purge from the widescreen broadcast at Ponyville, Twilight could not help but feel sorry when seeing all those poor little fillies and colts get slaughtered during those horrible nights. To make matters worse, every pony in Ponyville, including her friends, were all terrified to see those hateful crooks at Manehattan kill innocent civilians during the Purge Night. Pinkie didn't wish to hone any parties revolving around the annual purge. Some of the ponies in Ponyville were glaring at Twilight out of disgust and disappointment for letting the Purge occur at Manehattan, including Twilight's friends. Every time Twilight's friends and subjects were forced to see the Purge on broadcast on screen above the Ponyville's City Hall, they were all terrified in not doing anything to stop it from spreading at Manehattan. Instead, most of the fillies, mares, and colts were praying that their loved ones will survive the purge night. Twilight Sparkle, her friends, her family, and her brother Shinning Armor were feeling helpless and devastated about not being able to do anything to save the ponies from the Purge at Manehattan.

At the start of every Purge, the ponies were forced to watch the citizens and criminals butcher each other up in the most gruesome, violent ways possible. Some were plunged into various gang wars. Purgers were walking around the street hunting down innocent fillies left and right. Others were walking in groups, capturing and publicly executing ponies on sight. What's even more terrifying is that, many of the pony purgers were wearing all sorts of scary looking masks filled with bloodstains on the ponies that they have killed. Many of the purgers were armed with all sorts of brutal melee weapons and firearms. Purgers that were walking alone started hollering at the sidewalks. Buildings were caught on fire and squads of paramilitary soldiers, hitmen, and street gangs were storming through various areas in Manehattan, hunting down and kidnapping people for money. In some extravagant places, the rich ponies were making bets on those purgers who can kill the most out of kidnapped bunch. In Twilight's point of view, it was like she was watching a movie filled with real life horror and psychological thriller.

During the time Twilight went to get some sleep in her Castle, the purple alicorn started tossing and turning, while sweating underneath her bed covers.......

In the middle of the Purge night, Twilight slowly opens up her eyes only to find herself in the middle of the alleyways in Manehattan. As soon as she got up, Twilight hears some blood-curdling screams echoing throughout her surroundings. The moment Twilight turned around, she sees a terrified earth stallion trying to make a run for it. Before he could beg help from Princess Twilight, he was silenced by a loud bang that pierced his skull in the back of his head, with blood squirting out of it. In an instant, the stallion fell onto his stomach dead, with his hooves spread out wide. Upon seeing the stallion die in front of her, Twilight's eyes widened with fear that some pony else is lurking in the shadows behind its recently killed victim and is demanding blood. As Twilight narrowed her eyes and stared at the darkness behind the stallion corpse, she sees five purgers appeared before her. Four of them are wearing bloodstained, smiley masks and the 5th one was wearing a Grim Reaper Mask. Two of the smiley purgers are armed with hunting rifles, one Smiley pony is armed with a baseball bat wrapped around with sharp wires, and one is armed with a flail. The Grim Reaper Purger was armed with a Reaper's Scythe. Upon seeing the Purple Alicorn, the Grim Pony makes the call as he took out a bounty poster from his backpack.

"Hey! Look! It's that Purple Alicorn Princess. Let's see, any pony purger that hunts down an alicorn, dead or alive, will be rewarded a bounty of 20,000 bits by the NFFE. Let's see if she's worth it shall we, boys??"

Upon hearing what the Grim purger just said, his group came charging straight at Twilight Sparkle, readying their weapons and aiming their rifles directly at her. Not wanting to die, Twilight casted a shockwave spell that sent all five purgers flying back into the darkness from whence they came and made a run for it out of the alleyways and into the streets. As soon as Twilight arrived at the streets, several bullets came whizzing past her face from behind. The Purgers are opening fire at the purple alicorn with their rifles. However, Twilight casted a shield barrier to ward off enemy fire from below as she unfurled her wings and took to the skies. Before they could chase after Twilight, she teleported herself away from the murderous bunch and reappeared at Manehattan's Market Place. While Twilight was trying to take a breather, she hears another group of purgers coming out of a nearby grocery store that was already looted. The moment the purgers came out of the store, Twilight was hiding behind one of the food stands, several feet away from where they are while holding her breath with her hooves. After several minutes of hiding, the looters disappear and Twilight flew to her apartment complex near Rarity's Manehattan Boutique. The moment Twilight reached the Boutique, it was already dark inside. As soon as Twilight went inside Rarity's Boutique, she used her magic to shut the doors behind her and closed all the drapes, making sure that no purger will see her from the outside. Unfortunately, after Twilight secured the main entrance of the Boutique, the moment she flipped on the switch on her left, to turn on the lights, her eyes widened with horror, leaving behind a terrified gasp.

When the lights turned on, Twilight made a muffled scream while covering up her mouth with her hooves. All around her, she sees fresh bloodstains all over the floor and the walls of the Boutique. On the ceilings, Twilight sees fresh corpses of her friends hanging above several feet off the floor. On the Purple Alicorn's right, she sees the corpses of Rainbow Dash and Applejack showing their loose entrails, gutted out from their bodies and a bit of their bony ribs showing. On Twilight's left, she sees Flutteshy corpse dangling upside down with her throat slit and her eyes glazed over her. As for Rarity, Twilight sees the poor unicorn fashionista skinned alive and her mane and tail completely cut off from her body. In the middle, Twilight sees Pinkie dangling from above like a puppet, with nails lodged into the pink pony's body and strings attached to it. Before Twilight could come any closer, she sees the pink pony's corpse moving around like a rag doll. As Twilight looked up above Pinkie's corpse, she lights up her horn only to see an earth pony purger wearing a Jigsaw Mask lifting the puppet strings up and down with his hooves from the balcony. The moment the purger sees the purple alicorn down below the balcony, he started laughing and mocking at her in a manical tone. Twilight screamed in terror as she fired a magic beam at the Purger our of anger in the face. Upon impact, the purger fell on his back, letting go of Pinkie's corpse as it fell on the ground floor.

"HOW DARE YOU DO THAT TO MY FRIENDS, YOU PSYCHOTIC MONSTER!!!!" Twilight roared in a Canterlot voice.

As Twilight unfurled her wings and flew up to the balcony to confront the Jigsaw Purger, she landed on all four hooves only to find that the purger is no where in sight. Instead, Twilight could hear the evil cackling from within the shadows at the second floor of Rarity's Boutique.

"SHOW YOURSELF, YOU COWARDLY FIEND!!!" Twilight snarled as she lit up her horn with her magic, while making her way through the hallway from the balcony of the 2nd floor.

During her trek down the hallway, Twilight sees broken ceiling lamps flashing on and off, shattered windows, more bloodstains on the walls, and severed, bloodied pony limbs lying on the floor. After seeing the demise of her friends, Twilight couldn't even think about what would happen if her parents and her brother get involved in the annual purge. In her mind, Twilight finds the Purge too horrible to bear and that she wished that they hadn't forced her to enact this cruel decree upon her fellow ponykind. As Twilight made her way towards the room at her right in the end of the hallway, she turns around only to see her parents and her brother tied up and gagged, making muffled screams while being strapped to their chairs. Before Twilight could enter the room to free them, her mother and father were both freaking out even more as they see something bad right behind their purple alicorn daughter. In an instant, Twilight was met with a hoof reaching out from the shadows behind her, grabbing her by the mouth with her hoof. The next thing that happened is when the stalker pulled out a knife and slit Twilight's throat with ease. As Twilight made a deathly gurgle, with blood coming out of her throat, she collapsed onto the floor on her stomach. Upon seeing their daughter get killed by the stalker, Twilight's parents and brother started screaming even louder while being gagged.

"EEEEEEEEEYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" Twilight screamed as she got up out of bed, covered up in sweat.

As Twilight turned around, she realizes that it was all just another bad dream about the purge that she was forced to carry out by the order of the NFFE. After taking a few deep breaths, Twilight came out of her bed and landed on all fours before making her way to the fillies restroom.

"Damn, those nightmares are driving me crazy," Twilight muttered to herself in a scared tone. "I just wish there was another way to resolve the political unrest and the economy without making such violent decrees like the purge."

Inside the restroom, Twilight went up to the sink and used her magic to turn on the faucets. As she used her hooves to collect the running water, Twilight washed her face several times before looking at her reflection in the mirror. Just when she lifted her head to face the mirror in front of her, Twilight sees another pony from behind wearing a Scream Mask on her head. Upon seeing this, Twilight started screaming again in total fright as she turned white. The next thing that happened is when Twilight fell on the restroom floor on her back, completely paralyzed in fear. After a few seconds, the pony wearing the Scream Mask came up to check on Twilight before taking her mask off with her hoof. The pony reveals herself to be none other than Pinkie Pie, staring at Twilight with a huge, happy grin.

"Tee Hee!! You should see the look on your face, Twilight!!" Pinkie cackled in a sheepish tone. "How'd you sleep last night?!"

"Not good, Pinkie Pie. And don't ever scare me like that," Twilight hissed as she got back up on her hooves again. "It's bad enough that I was forced to sign in the contract to enact the purge at Manehattan by the New Founding Fathers of Equestria two years ago."

"Oh, I get it. You had another bad dream about the purge, didn't you?!" Pinkie said as she guessed Twilight's theory. "I see now, you're not proud of yourself when doing this, are you?!"

"DAMN RIGHT I'M NOT!!!!" Twilight shouted as she glared at the pink pony before taking a few more deep breaths. "Sorry Pinkie, but seriously, I'm still not convinced that the purge will do any good in keeping the overcrowding under control. As a matter of fact, I'm still starting to suspect that Caleb and the NFFE are up to something that's even more grim than just carrying out the purge in Equestria."

Before Twilight or Pinkie could say anymore, Spike appeared outside of the fillies restroom.

"Good morning, ladies," Spike said, followed by a yawn coming out of his mouth. "Twilight, are you feeling okay?"

"I don't know, Spike," Twilight said anxiously. "I'm still thinking that the Purge will be our undoing."

"I know where you're getting at, Twilight. If only we were able to do something about it," Spike told the purple alicorn.

"Enough of all that, I made pancakes for breakfast down at the dinning hall," Pinkie said trying to enlighten a dismayed Twilight Sparkle. "Let's go before all of the pancakes are gone."

As the two ponies and the little dragon made their way downstairs and to the dinning hall, they were met by the rest of the Element Bearers of Harmony, Applejack the orange farm earth pony, Rainbow Dash the light-blue pegasus, Rarity the white unicorn fashionista, and Fluttershy the soft-spoken yellow pegasus. They all turned their attention towards a half-asleep Twilight Sparkle, with Pinkie Pie and Spike following her from behind.

"Hey der, sleeping beauty. How are ya feelin' today, ah?" Applejack asked in a happy tone.

"I'm a little shaken from my recent sleep earlier," Twilight said, while feeling groggy as she went up to the table to eat some pancakes. "I had another bad dream about the purge last night. This time, when I went to the Boutique to check up on you guys, you were all dead and your bodies were hanging off the ground. Just when I was about to go after the pony that killed you all, I saw my parents and my brother tied up and gagged. They were all scared shitless and the next thing that happened is when that killer slit my throat in cold-blood."

Upon hearing Twilight's recent nightmare, the entire Mane 5 gasped in horror, almost losing their appetite. After several seconds of utter silence, Rarity stepped in and comforted Twilight after she finished with her pancake breakfast.

"Now look darling, we don't really know how we're going to deal with that terrifying turn of events." Rarity said while trying to make a point towards the purple alicorn. "Even though it's better than stressing ourselves in dealing with all those murderous ruffians, I don't know if we can do anything about it."

"But Rarity, we need to find a way to get to Manehattan and save our loved ones there before it gets worse," Twilight protested after leaving a half-eaten pancake on top of her plate. "I just end up killing all those poor fillies at Manehattan over those two years."

"I'm with Twilight on this one, guys," Fluttershy said in a nervous tone. "I couldn't imagine what would happen if any of our friends at Manehattan get involved in the purge. There's a strong chance that if we start purging too, we will not be any different from them. In fact, judging from what Twilight is trying to say, I think the NFFE is just using her to achieve their political dreams."

"Or maybe they're trying to set us up for a really grim reason," Twilight added in.

Before any pony could say anymore, they heard knocking coming from the main entrance of the Twilight's Castle. As Twilight got out of her seat, she makes her way to the door before opening it with her magic. As soon as the doors were wide open, Twilight sees Caleb Warren, the leader of the NFFE, appear before her.

"What do you want, Caleb?" Twilight said as she sneered at the NFFE learned, narrowing her eyes at him.

"Hello Princess, how's it going with your break, ah?!" Caleb asked as he gave Twilight as sly smirk on his face.

"Not bad, I've seen worse," Twilight grunted in dismay.

"I'm sure you were pretty bored in not doing anything to help your people, right?!" Caleb said as he made a small grin. "Over the past two years, our reports were showing that the Purge is still not dealing with the overcrowded populace at Manehattan yet. Everytime we moved two steps forward, they push us three steps back. So, after our recent meeting, we made another decision. Ever since you and the Element Bearers of Harmony became the number one heroes of your own hometown and all of Equestria, I'd say it's time for you and your friends to get off your couch and take some more real action; it'll be as if you're all movie actors shown on TV."

"Are you trying to get us involved in the Purge, Caleb?" Twilight Sparkle said, feeling a bit offended by what Caleb is getting at. "The last thing I would ever wanted right now is to put my friends in danger of themselves when dealing with such grim events as this."

"Twilight, it's just how we do our business," Caleb said summarizing their nature. "We do believe that we made need the best warriors to cleanse Manehattan of all of its sins. You do want to save your people from the other purgers, right? In fact, if you and your friends do this, you will still be able to live up to your name preserving our beloved nation, as well as earning making money to support the rest of your family. And for that, we'll keep the death count contained in only one area. What do you say, huh?"

Upon hearing what Caleb is offering, Twilight still feels a bit distrustful in accepting all of this. Before she knew it, Twilight was pacing left and right not knowing if Caleb's offer is a good thing or a bad thing. Just when Twilight was about to say "no," Rainbow Dash intervened.

"Come on Twi, this maybe our chance to prove ourselves that we can save Manehattan from the purge," Rainbow Dash said trying to push the purple alicorn into acceptance. "Please, just this once?"

"Rainbow, we have may been able to save Equestria more than once," Twilight said as she dragged the light-blue pegasus into a private conversation, along with the rest of the Mane 6. "But I still don't trust that guy. He might be just using us in order to maintain their political campaign in the NFFE."

"Well, it maybe the time where we Element Bearers of Harmony will try to take a stand against the purgers," Rainbow said in a excited, hushed tone. "It'll be just like surviving on the battlefield and saving lives, just like what you're brother did when he was in the Equestrian Army."

"Yes, but we're not going to be in a battlefield; we're going to be inside a slaughter house!!!" Twilight exclaimed in a serious tone.

"Now that ya mention it, I'm still worried about ma cousin Babs Seeds and ma relatives at Manehattan," Applejack said in the group. "Apple Bloom is worried sick about her as well. If we find Babs Seed, y'all, we may need to escort her to safety out of the city during the annual purge."

"I do want to see if Coco Pommel is doing okay at Manehattan too," Rarity added. "It's been two years since I heard from her and ever since the Purge was enacted, she hasn't spoke to me for a very long time. I'm also worried about my Fashion Boutique at Manehattan."

"Well, we're going to have to write down a list of all the ponies that we need to find and make sure that we can find a safe place for them to stay at until the Purge is over," Twilight suggested to the group. "I already ordered some of the citizens who didn't want to purge to stay inside their homes and make no physical contact with the purgers. However, I can't say for sure if any pony was able to survive the purge over the past two years."

"Then, we y'all might as well take our chances then," Applejack told Twilight. "It's better than just sitting around not doing anything at least."

"Pinkie! Fluttershy! What do you guys think?" Twilight asked the two other ponies in the group.

"Um, I'm still a bit anxious for where this is heading," Fluttershy said nervously. "But if we're to save those poor fillies at Manehattan, I might as well pray for our success and our survival."

"Me?? Well, I'd do anything to save Cheese Sandwich," Pinkie Pie chirped in eagerness. "Speaking of Cheese, I haven't heard from him ever since that Purgy-urgy came into play."

After disengaging from their private conversation, Twilight Sparkle leaves the group and approaches Caleb before making her decision. As soon as Twilight takes a deep breath, putting her hoof to her chest, and stretch it towards her front, she makes her verdict in front of the leader of the NFFE.

"Okay sir, we accept your challenge at the annual Purge in Manehattan," Twilight said in a calm tone of voice.

"Very well, your highness," Caleb said as he gave an sinister smile towards Twilight Sparkle. "Just remember all the guidelines during the Annual Purge. Once you reach Manehattan, you will not be granted immunity from the purge, even as a government official. You and your friends are to start at the Manehattan Police Station where they'll be dishing out some weapons for you to use at the start of the Purge. As soon as the horns blare out, you and your friends do whatever it takes to survive during the purge night. You all have four days to rendezvous at the Manehattan Police Station before 7pm at the 4th night, in which the Commencement of the Annual Purge will begin. Are we clear?!"

"Yes sir, whatever you say," Twilight said acknowledging Caleb's offer.

"Good. Blessed be our New Founding Fathers and Equestria. A Nation Reborn. May Faust be with you all," Caleb spoke as he waved his hoof goodbye before disappearing into the crowd.

"Ya feeling okay in doing this, ah?" Applejack asked the nervous purple alicorn.

"Maybe, Applejack," Twilight said as she turned to face her friends, while sweating in fear. "Though, I still don't trust those guys. I just hope we can find our friends in Manehattan before they do."
