As help approached the scene, the ponies began to take note of the scene before them.

Derpy was cradling her daughter, while staring at her home. They could hear their sobs as they stood there, taking pity for the family of two.

A firepony walked up to Derpy and put his hoof around Derpy.

“It’s going to be ok, miss. Now can you tell us what happened?”, he said calmly.

She sniffled, but answered anyway,

“I put her to bed, and I went downstairs. I plugged in a lamp and just sat. Then suddenly it just crackled and caught on fire. I tried to put it out, but just couldn’t. I got Dinky and flew out her bedroom window”, she said solemnly.

“You saved her life, Miss. I applaud you”, he said before trotting away.

Derpy just held Dinky closer, listening to her sobs.

“Is Everypony ok?”, a new voice said.

They all turned around to find Twilight Sparkle, Princess Of Friendship. They bowed, they didn’t expect their princess to show up.

“You don’t have to do that, I just came here for information”, she said.

They stopped and the Cheif walked to Twilight,

“Well, your highness, that mare over there”, he said while pointing to Derpy,”Plugged in a lamp and whole place lit up. She managed to get her daughter out, but couldn’t save anything else”, he said.

Twilight nodded, thanked him, and trotted over to Derpy and Dinky.

Twilight sat beside the pair and spoke,

“Derpy?”, she spoke calmly.

Upon hearing the voice, she turned her head, only to find the Princess Of Friendship beside her.

“Princess Twilight!”, she said loudly.

She was about to bow, but Twilight stopped her.

“It’s fine, you don’t have to do that. Are you ok?”, she asked in a concerned tone.

”I don’t know, Princess. I lost my home and all the valuables in it, as well as the bits I kept. I can’t buy a new home now, so I don’t know”, she said sadly.

Twilight bit her lip, she hated seeing ponies in pain. She thought about it, and found a solution.

“I think I have a solution, Derpy”, she said with a calm smile.

“You do?! What is it?”, Derpy asked excitedly.

“You can stay with me until you get back on your hooves”, Twilight said in a sweet voice.

Derpy’s was almost to the ground. Had she heard that right? Princess Twilight Sparkle had offered her a home in her castle. It was surreal.

“R-Really!?! You’d do that!?”, Derpy said, tears of joy forming in her eyes.

Twilight nodded and was immediately caught up in an embrace from the grateful mailmare.

“Wuh-What’s going on?”, said a little voice.

“Oh honey! Twilight Sparkle, the princess, has offered us a home!”, Derpy excitedly.

Dinky’s eyes lit up,

“Really? Where!”, she said with a smile.

Twilight chuckled and answered,

“With me silly, where else do think?”, she answered warm heartedly.

Dinky just sat there, until she wrapped her hooves around the Princess Of Friendship.

“Thank you Princess! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”, the filly said happily.

“Your welcome, little one”, she said with a huge smile.

Derpy smiled, she may have lost a lot, but she gained a whole lot more.
