My Brave Pony: Starfleet Magic: The New Member (Rewrite)
Episode 13: Jewel’s New Home
Previous ChapterNext ChapterJewel was walking in New Ponyville with a beautiful sun shining and the clear blue sky. Birds chirping happily and ponies just living their lives.
Jewel was blissfully walking when she came to a large oak tree that had a door and a small balcony on the side. It looked like it was condemned, by the yellow tape.
”Wonder what this could be?”
Jewel slowly walked to the tree, moving underneath the tape she entered the house. There were shelves of books all around. A staircase led up to a small bedroom with a bed and a small basket with a blanket in it.
Heading back downstairs, Jewel went to one of the bookshelves and grabbed a book. She sat down at the nearby table and began reading.
Meanwhile, Lightning and friends were walking in the street.
“It’s a wonderful day.” Fluttershy said.
“All is quiet,
That’s okay.” Rhymey added.
“Umm, guys where’d Jewel go?” Spike asked.
“Guys!” the friends looked and saw Rainbow coming towards them. “Hey Rainbow, what’s up?” Lightning asked.
“I just saw Jewel go into Twilight’s old home.” Rainbow replied.
“Huh?” Everybody replied.
“Why would Jewel go there?” Dyno asked.
“Si, it doesn’t make any sense. That place is condemned.” Myte added.
“We better go and get her.” Lightning suggested. Soon all the friends made it to Twilight’s old home. “Hey! The door is open!” Spike pointed out.
“Let’s go in.” Lightning said. The friends entered the tree. All of them felt memories of Twilight coming back at the sight of her home, making them feel down. But they had other things to do.
Entering the tree, they found Jewel with her face down, fast asleep with three tall stacks of books surrounding her. “Looks like somebody has been reading.” Artie said.
Lightning went up to one of the book stacks and grabbed one of the books.
“Advanced spells for unicorns.”
“Sounds like she’s been reading about magic.” Buddy said. “Just like Twilight.” Suddenly, Jewel stirred and woke up, meeting the eyes of her friends.
“Oh, hey guys, didn’t here you come in.” she said.
“Looks like you’ve been reading a lot.” Starla replied.
“Yeah.” Jewel stated. “I like this place, lots of books, a small bedroom.”
“Well, you can come back tomorrow. Okay?” Lightning asked.
“Hehe. Okay.” The gang led Jewel out of the Golden Oak Library and back to Lightning and Starla’s house, where Jewel took another short nap. The gang went to Cake’s Café for some milkshakes in the meantime. All of the friends were chattering about, save for Lightning. “Lightning, honey, what’s the matter?”
“Oh, it’s just that I’ve been thinking about Jewel and Twilight’s old home.”
“Yeah she did seem pretty into it.” Buddy added.
“Reading all those book in no time,
She like Twilight on the dime.” Rhymey added.
“So what do we do?” Rainbow asked.
“Yeah. She’s just going to keep going back there to read all those books.” Applejack said. “Huh. She’s is just like Twilight.”
Suddenly, Pinkie cried, “Ooh, I know, I know, it’s prefect, so prefect!” Buddy placed a hand on her shoulder to calm her down. “Easy Pinkie, just tell us.”
“We can have Jewel move into the Golden Oak Library!”
The friends thought about what she just said and thought it was a good idea. “Well, she does like reading.” Fluttershy stated. “And that place is full of books.”
“And the darling will need her own home. She can’t live with Starla and Lightning forever.” Rarity added. Everybody agreed with that statement and decided to go for it.
It first they needed permission from their majesties first. Lightning sent them a letter and he and his friends got a letter back each telling them to meet at the palace.
Krysta teleported them all there and they were soon called to the throne room. The guards saluted to Lightning and the meeting began.
Lightning and his friends explained everything to their majesties. “Sounds like Jewel has a great interest in the Golden Oak Library.” Luna said.
“Indeed.” Celestia replied.
“So we wanted to move Jewel into the Library but we wanted to ask your persmission first.” Lightning asked.
After some brief thinking, their majesties approved Jewel moving into the Golden Oak Library. The friends were relieved and excited.
“Now, we’ll have to keep Jewel away while we get the Library ready for her to live in.” Artie said.
“Si, but how?” Dyno asked.
“Can’t we just put her in the royal library?” Myte asked.
“Why?” Rainbow added.
“Well she does like reading and the New Canterlot Library has tons of books.” Myte stated.
“That would keep her busy for quite a while.” Dyno added. Everybody thought about that plan and agreed to it.
Soon, Starla was asking with Jewel to the library. “So Starla what do you want me to read?” Jewel asked.
“When we get to the library, I want you to read the stacks of books Lightning and I placed near the seat and we’ll come and get your for something special afterwards.” Starla explained.
Jewel like the sounds of ‘surprise’. “What is it?”
“No spoilers.”
Starla opened the door and they both entered the library. Jewel went to the seat with two large piles of books near it.
“I’ll be back in a couple of hours.” Starla called.
“Okay.” Jewel said and she sat down and started reading one of the book piles, one book at a time.
Starla flew back to New Ponyville and went to the Golden Oak Library. Entering the room, she saw all her friends setting up for the party. “Hey Starla, how’s Jewel?” Rainbow asked.
“She’s one hundred percent distracted. I have her reading two large piles of books until I come back.” Starla said.
“Perfect.” Lightning said.
“Come on y’all. Let’s finish decorating.” Applejack called. All the friends pitched in with the decorating and soon it was early evening when everything was finished.
“There. Now I’ll go get Jewel.” Starla said. She left the library and flew to New Canterlot and went to the library. She found Jewel fast asleep with all the books scattered around her.
Starla chuckled softly and walked up to Jewel and shook her awake. “Jewel, wake up~” she sang.
Jewel awoke and rubbed the sleep out of her eyes. “Hey Starla.” she greeted. “Is my surprise ready?”
“Yeah. Come on let’s go.” Starla said.
Starla teleported them back to the Golden Oak Library. “Starla, why is the library dark?” Jewel asked.
“You’ll see.”
The two girls entered the library and were met with darkness. “So what’s going on?” Jewel asked.
Suddenly the lights flashed on and all her friends shouted “SURPRISE! WELCOME HOME JEWEL!”
Jewel saw the entire library decorated with streamers and balloons. A table had all kinds of refreshments on it and there with a few present in the corner.
“Wh-What’s this?” Jewel asked, surprised.
“This is your house warming party.” Lightning stated.
“House warming?”
“That’s right, sugarcube.” Applejack said. “This is your new home.”
Jewel was so amazed and surprised that she was shedding tears of joy. “Thanks you guys.”
Everybody smiled at their friend. “LET’S PARTY!” Pinkie cried.
The party began and everybody had a great time. Jewel loved her presents as well.
Lightning gave her a fedora that matches her mane and Rarity gave Jewel beautiful dress. It was pink with aquamarine stars on it with small purple shading sleeves.
“Thank you everyone. This is the best day ever!” Jewel declared. All her friends smiled and they all partied into the night.
In our next episode; The ponies are excited for a ballet performance at the theaters. However, they discover that Jewel came down with a nasty cold. Mykan and Midnight volunteer to stay with Jewel and take care of her.
