My Brave Pony: Starfleet Magic: The New Member (Rewrite)

It was a bright beautiful afternoon and Lightning and all twelve of us friends, including Mykan and Midnight were at Rarity’s boutique. She was making dresses and tuxedos for Lightning, Starla, Jewel and Mykan and Midnight for tonight all of them were invited to a ballet performance.

“I can’t wait for the ballet!” Pinkie cried.

“Me either.” Starla added.

The boys on the other hand, weren’t that excited. “It sounds a little boring.” Mykan said.

“I agree.” Spike said.

“Oh boys, you simply must give ballet a try.” Rarity suggested. “But for right now, I’m pleased to say I’ve completed the dresses.”

As soon as she said that, Jewel and in to the boutique. “Hey Jewel.” Rainbow greeted.

Jewel sniffled and replied, “Hey Rainbow… cough… cough.”

“Are you feeling okay Jewel?” Mykan asked, seeing how she looked a little frazzled. “I’m okay.” she replied. “Are you sure?” Midnight asked. Jewel nodded again. “I’m good.. really. I’ll see you guys tonight. See ya.”

With that Jewel left while her friends were all confused. “Was it just me or did Jewel seem a little-“ Lightning started.

“Tired?” Fluttershy said.

“Dizzy?” Pinkie added.

“Messy.” Rairty said and she got strange looks from her friends. “Well… did you see her mane?”

“She seemed fine to me.” Pinkie Pie added but Mykan and Midnight were still suspicious.

That night, the gang was at the boutique again, getting dressed. “These dresses are perfect!” Starla commented.

“Why thank you darling.” Rarity said.

Mykan and Midnight were wearing the tuxedoes while Lightning and Starla tapped their insignias twice and changed into their formal wear.

But they all noticed one dress untouched and someone missing. “Where’s Jewel?” Midnight asked.

“She should have been here by now.” Starla added.

“We should probably got check on her.” Spike suggested.

“Good idea.” Artie agreed. Everybody soon arrived at the Golden Oak Library. Lightning opened the door and everybody came in. “Jewel! Are you in here?” Pinkie called.

Everyone then heard some coughing and sneezing. “Where did that come from?” Mykan asked.

“Sounds like it came from upstairs.” Starla replied. The gang headed upstairs to Jewel’s room. Wheat they saw made them gasped in shock. Mareep and Rockruff and her dinosaur friends were all by Jewel’s side nuzzling her with worried expressions in their faces. The gang could immediately tell why.

Jewel was lying in her bed, the covers pulled up to her neck. Her eyes were bloodshot and watery, her cheeks were flushed, and her snout, especially around her nose, was bright red. She sniffled, blinking bleary-eyed at her friends.

“Hey buys don’d gobe doo glose I thigue I god a… a…. achoo!”

“Oh dear.” Fluttershy whispered.

“Jewel what happens to you?!” Lightning asked.

“I don’d feel doo dood. By thwoad's sore...by head is boudigue...ad by dose is blogued.” Jewel croaked.

“Sounds like you’ve caught a nasty cold and flu.” Fluttershy diagnosed. “You’ll need lots of rest and liquids.”

“Aww.” Pinkie whined. “Then she can’t go to the ballet.”

“I’ll ge bine buys.” Jewel replied. Her friends weren’t going to take that lying down. “Someone should at least stay with you.” Lightning said.

“I’ll do it.” Mykan volunteered.

“Me too.” Midnight added.

“Dut vhen you will biss the ballet.” Jewel said.

“Thanks okay. We’re not leaving you alone and sick.” Mykan said. Jewel smiled at the boys. “Alright, we better get going. See you guys later.” Lightning said.

“Feel better sugarcube.” Applejack added. Mykan, Midnight and Jewel waved goodbye as their friends left for the ballet.

Sombra and Chrysalis saw everything. “This is perfect. Now we prefect our little friend and destory those ponies.” Sombra said.

Chrysalis nodded and the two got back to work.

Meanwhile, upon arriving at the ballet, many of the other creatures attending gazed in awe as the royal party arrived. Lightning and Starla told their majesties about Jewel and the boys. Though they were sad that Jewel couldn’t attend they were proud that Mykan and Midnight stayed with her.

Grand Ruler wore a white tuxedo, with golden royal epaulets, a blue sash, but he still wore his cape, and he also carried a walking stick with a blue sapphire at the brim.

Celestia wore her fancy formal queen’s garbs. Only it had been refitted to accommodate her humanoid body. The sleeves were long. The dress was whole and went all the way around her, and she wore a red and white, royal robe.

While walking into the theater, Lightning even noticed two familiar faces in the crowd. “It’s Rhymey and Fluttershy.”

They stopped for a minute to say hi. “Why are you guys here?” asked Lightning.

“I had lots of spare time, so Rhymey thought he’d take me out tonight.” said Fluttershy.

Rhymey nodded and said…

“The ballet is such a poetic place,
It brings a smile right to my face.
The music plays, and dancers go on
It’s poetry in motion, and ever so on.”

They were all glad to see each other and thought they would all have dinner together after the show, but for now they all took their seats. Rhymey and Fluttershy sat down below on the main floor, while the royal party had a special balcony box reserved. They could see everything, except Spike, if he wasn’t sitting on Starla’s head. “Just don’t mess up my mane.” she said.

The show began…

It was a ballet story about a weary young stallion who dreamed of being someone special and well known and respected, but he was so ridiculed and mocked by others that he began to lose confidence. Along the way he met a young mare who seemed troubled, and it turned out she was a princess who was on the run to escape the boredom and traditions of palace life. The two appeared to be falling in love.

Celestia and Grand Ruler took an immediate shine to the story. It was almost exactly identical to their past lives. Celestia had tears in her eyes at some of the sad parts. Her husband passed her a hankie.

Starla squeezed Lightning’s hand softly, and he gripped tight in response, both they were bedazzled not just by the story, but the graceful and skillful movements the dancers showed.

The only one who didn’t seem interested was Spike. He had finally fallen asleep after trying his best to keep awake.

Rhymey and Fluttershy were enjoying the show too. “They’re so graceful.” Fluttershy whispered. Rhymey nodded in agreement; by this time he had enough inspiration to write a whole book of poetry, and maybe a few songs.

Soon, the first half of the show was over and an intermission happened to give the dancers a small rest period, and the audience a chance to stretch their legs a bit. Spike woke up startled by all the hustling. “Huh? What’s going on?” he asked. “Have a nice nap?” Starla teased. The others all snickered softly, and Spike felt very embarrassed. “It’s all right, Spike. You’re still young.” said Celestia.

The intermission was soon over and everyone began to take their seats for the next act to open, but as the dancers took their places to begin, all the lights went out. Everyone gasped and stuttered and stammered in the dark. Then suddenly the stage lit up again and something was there that wasn’t before on the stage. “What’s that?” asked Spike.

The creature was green and yellow with pink mane on its head. It’s had sharp claws and teeth.

“Is it part of the set?” wondered Lightning. They all soon got their answer as the creature roared at the dancers, frightening them.

Fluttershy screamed and held on tightly to Rhymey, and it soon became clear that thing was no dancer. “Everyone out!” shouted Grand Ruler. Everyone, except the gang ran out of the theater “Let’s go down there!” said Lightning as he, Starla, Fluttershy and Rhymey leapt down below to join the others.

Meanwhile, Mykan and Midnight were feeding Jewel some chicken soup. “Thanks for taking care of me, guys.”

“No problem, Jewel.” Mykan said.

“Yeah. We never leave a friend alone and sick.” Midnight added. Jewel couldn’t help but smile at her friends.

Suddenly, the front door burst open!

“What the heck was that?” Midnight cried.

Then, a familiar item came up into Jewel’s bedroom and right to her bedside. “What’s your Animal Staff doing here, Jewel?” Mykan asked.

“I don’t.. cough.. know.” Jewel replied.

The staff’s orb began to glow and showed an image of the ballet. “What’s a Megaraptor doing in the middle of the theater?” Midnight asked.

They saw their majesties using the of magic and they created a barrier around the ponies and dinosaur so the theater doesn’t get damaged. Lightning and the others trying to attack it but it was too fast, causing them to accidentally hit each other. “That dino’s too fast!” Mykan cried.

Jewel tried to get out of bed. “I’ve got to... cough... cough.. get to that theater... achoo.”

Mykan and Midnight gently pushed her back into bed. “You can’t Jewel. You’re still sick.” Mykan cautioned.

“But whose going to catch the dinosaur?” Jewel asked.

“I’ll go.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yeah. I’ve seen how you use your dinosaurs.”

Jewel sighed an reluctantly said. “Alright. The Megaraptor is a wind element so it beat you’ll need to use Blitz since he is a lightning element.”

“Got it. Come on Blitz.” Just as Mykan was about to get out the door. “Mykan Wait! Take Blossom with you.”

“Who?”

“My Fukisaurus.”

“Ooooh. Okay. Let’s go guys.” Mykan grabbed the AnimalStaff and Blitz and Blossom followed him out the door and to the He use day his teleportation belt to warp them to the theater.

The went and saw Queen Celestia. “Your majesty!” Mykan called. Celestia turned around and saw him and the dinosaurs.

“Mykan! What are you doing here?!” she asked.

“I’m here to catch the dinosaur. Can you get me in?”

“I’m afraid not.”

“Can I teleport inside?”

“You may be able to.” Mykan decided to go for it. He pressed his belt and he and the dinosaurs enter the dome. “Mykan! Blitz! Blossom! What are you guys doing here?” Lightning asked as he got bashed by the Megaraptor.

“We’re here to help.” Mykan rapped the grass and lightning stones and it turned Blitz and Blossom into cards.

He swiped the cards saying ”STARFLEET SLASH PENTACERATOPS ROAR! FUKISAURUS BLOOM!”

Blitz landed on the ground and so did Blossom in battle mode.

They both roared and the gang gazed at awe at them. “Alright you two have at it!” Mykan called. Blitz immediately charged the Megaraptor but it dodged him, however, Blitz smacked it with his tail sending him into the dome wall.

A grass move card appeared in front of Mykan.

“Blossom! NATURES BLESSING! Renergize my friends.” Mykan exclaimed.

Blossom rested up and leaves swirled all around her. She roared and launched the leaves at the ponies. They immediately felt their powers being restored.

“I feel totally pumped up!” Lightning said.

“Me too!” Starla added.

Blitz mananged to knock the Megaraptor onto the floor. A lightning move card appeared infront of Mykan this time.

”LIGHTNING SPEAR!” Mykan swiped the card across the stone and Blitz was covered in lightning energy. He charged the Megaraptor and leaped high into the air actually breaking the barrier and sending their majesties flying!

A bolt of lightning pierced through the Megaraptor. Blitz landed on the floor while the Megaraptor fell to the ground and turned back into a card.

“Alright Mykan!” Lightning cried.

“You did it!” Fluttershy added. All the other creatures and even the dancers came back in the theater, cheering and applauding. The spotlight shone on fighters on stage. Spike was cheering and flipping madly with joy. Grand Ruler and Celestia were proud of the fighters. “Take a bow.” Celestia said “You’ve earned it for such a stupendous performance!” added Grand Ruler.

The fighters shrugged and thought “What the heck.” and they all bowed most kindly to the cheering and wooing crowd. Even Fluttershy managed to bow in front of that big crowd without feeling too nervous.

Even though the battle was won, the ballet theater was still a little damaged, and needed repairs. Thus, the rest of the show was canceled, but their majesties decided to invite all the fighters for a lovely dinner at the palace.

“Hey guys!”

Everybody turned and saw Midnight walking towards them. “Hey Midnight. Where’s Jewel?” Mykan asked.

“She’s still in bed.” Midnight replied. Everybody felt bad for Jewel having missed the ballet and being ill. “Poor thing.” Fluttershy whimpered. “She must be so sad.”

“Well she’s just a little sad, that’s all.” Midnight objected.

“Maybe we can go and cheer her up?” Starla suggested. Everybody agreed with that.

Jewel was sleeping peacefully in her bed with a mountain of tissues in a trash can near her bed. Mareep and Rockruff whimpered at her.

“Cough... Cough... I’m okay guys.. a-achoo. Really.”

The door opened and her bedroom door opened up. Lightning, Starla, Fluttershy, Rhymey, Mykan and their majesties came in. “What are you guys doing here? Cough... cough.”

“We came to cheer you up.” Fluttershy replied.

“Sniffle... how?” Mykan softly swiped the Megaraptor card across the wind stone and a chibi version of the Megaraptor appeared: its upper body was yellow with the lower part was green as it had a little tuff of pink fur on its head. “That’s what this little guy is for.” Mykan said.

Jewel aww’d at the little guy. “And were going to stay with you the whole night.” Lightning said.

“But then you guys might get sick.” Jewel warned.

“Don’t worry we won’t.” Celestia stated. Jewel sighed and seeing that her friends weren’t going to leave her alone, she smiled at her friends and she met them take care for her all through the night.

In our next episode; Sombra and Chrysalis finish their project to destroy the ponies but it escaped to United Equestria where it meets Jewel who found herself in a dangerous situation.
