My Brave Pony: Starfleet Magic: The New Member (Rewrite)

One day Jewel was at New Cantrlot sickbay for her monthly check-up by Dr.Penny.

"Okay Jewel, now open wide." she said.

Jewel opened her mouth and Dr. Penny examined her mouth. "Looks good. Now I just wanna ask you a few questions."

"Okay Dr. Penny." Meanwhile, her friends and their majesties were in the waiting room. "Oh. I hope Jewel's okay." Fluttershy said, worried.

"I'm sure she's fine, Fluttershy." Lightning reassured. Just after he said that, Dr. Penny and Jewel came in. "She's as fit as a fittle, everybody." she announced, "You're free to go Jewel." With that, Jewel happily exited the sickbay while Penny talked to the ponies.

"Is something wrong?" Lightning asked.

"Well... yes and no. There's nothing wrong with Jewel but when I asked her about her background..... well just take a look."

Penny handed Grand Ruler Jewel's medical files and the ponies circled around him. So far they saw nothing wrong.. until...

"How come there's no birth date for Jewel or her parents names?" Pinkie asked.

"That's the thing. When I asked Jewel about them she said that she didn't know her birthday or her birthparents because she doesn't have one."

All the ponies gasped in shock and horror. "No birthparents... but that can't be true!" Rainbow exclaimed.

"She must have birthparents, if she's alive!" Fluttershy added.

"We need to ask Jewel why,
The reason may be clear as the sky." Rhymey suggested. Everybody agreed and went off to find Jewel.

They found her walking down the hallway singing a song...

Hush little one
And close your eyes
Dream of our hearts side by side
The moon and stars will be your guide tonight

Two stars shine as one tonight

And may your wish come true

The ponies approached her. "Hey Jewel. Can we talk to you?" Lightning called. Jewel heard them and walked up to them. "What is it?"

"Well after you left the sickbay, Dr. Penny told us that you didn't have a birth date or birth parents listed in your medical records." Grand Ruler started. Jewel's face changed from happy to depressed, "Do you want to tell us why?" Celestia asked.

Jewel sighed, "Yeah..... the reason I don't have birth parents or a birthday is because.... I kinda.... wasn't... raised by ponies." Jewel replied slowly.

The ponies looked at her confused, "If you weren't raised by ponies, then who were you raised by?" Starla asked.

"I was kinda.... raised by..... wolves."

Everyone’s mouths hung open and their eyes widened in shock. "Raised by wolves!?" Spike repeated.

Jewel nodded. "B-But how can you be raised by wolves? You're a pony!" Lightning added.

"Well...." With that Jewel began to explain everything. "It all started seventeen years ago....

Baby Jewel, only a few months old was crying in a basket covered up to her neck by a pink blanket. She was in a deep, dark forest, with no sign of her parents around.

The bushes near her began to rustle and out came two wolves; One was silver while the other was black. The wolves were followed by six other wolves. All of them looked curiously at the creature in the basket.

The alpha female approached the basket and looked at baby Jewel, who babbled and attempted to grab her muzzle. The female smiled and nuzzled her, causing her to giggle.

My wolf mom said to my wolf dad 'We can't leave her here, she needs us.' My wolf daddy knew better than to argue with my mom so he allowed her to adopt me.

The alpha female took the blanket, baby Jewel and all, into her mouth and carried her back to the den. She placed baby Jewel down and cuddled up against her, placing baby Jewel against her stomach.

Soon baby Jewel’s stomach gurgled and she started to whimper. The alpha female used her muzzle and nudged baby Jewel to one of her nipples, where she started suckling. The alpha female only watched for a few minutes until baby Jewel stopped suckling and burped, with milk around her lips.

The alpha female licked the milk off of her, making baby Jewel giggle. She babbled and grabbed her wolf mom’s muzzle. The alpha female tickled baby Jewel with her tail, causing her to laugh. The alpha male came into the den and baby Jewel stared at him. Getting out of the blanket, she crawled over to him and looked up at him.

They were like that for a moment until baby Jewel reached out her little arms towards him. The alpha male smiled and lowered his head towards her, letting her grab it and babble. The alpha female came over and picked up baby Jewel and took her back to the corner of the den, placing her against her stomach once more.

The alpha male came and laid next to her, just in time for him to hear baby Jewel yawn and say “Mama….. Dada.”

Both wolves nuzzled baby Jewel.

From that day on, my wolf parents raised me, until I was seventeen. Then it was time for me strike out on my own. So I went from planet to planet until I came here and that’s it.”

When Jewel finished her story, Dyno, Myte and Pinkie were close to tears, "Ay’ Ay’ Ay’ That's so beautiful!” Dyno sobbed. “Si, I never heard anything so sweet.” Myte added.

Pinkie blew her nose into a hankie, “That's the sweetest story I ever heard.” she sobbed. The rest of the friends were amazed, even their majesties. “So why don’t you have a birthday, Jewel?” Lightning asked.

“Hmmm… I can't remember the exact day my wolf parents found me.” Jewel replied. “I’m gonna go to the library to read.”

The ponies felt bad for her. Jewel walked away from the ponies towards the library for some reading.

“Poor thing.” Starla stated.

“There must be something we can do to cheer her up.” Rainbow added.

Suddenly, Rarity had an idea, "Maybe we could throw a birthday party for her?"

Hearing that, Pinkie’s mood instantly change from sad to excited, “That’s perfect! We’ll all plan Jewel a birthday party. Yeah!” Pinkie cried.

“If she even knows what that is.” Rainbow grumbled.

“Rainbow that's low,
It's not Jewel fault that she doesn't know" Rhymey said.

“Anyway, it looks like we have a first birthday party, to set up.” Lightning said.

All his friends smiled and agreed.

That night, Jewel went home while the ponies were allowed to stay at the palace, with their majesties permission to start planning Jewel's birthday party.

"So when can we do it?" Artie asked.

"Well a week from today will be the same day Jewel met us. So that will be the day." Lightning stated. Everybody agreed with that. "How can we keep Jewel away long enough to get everything ready?" Buddy asked. Pinkie began hopping up and down, "I know, I know, I know!" she declared.

"Easy Pinkie, just tell us." Lightning said.

"A scavenger hunt! We can send Jewel on a scavenger hunt for her presents!" Pinkie said. Everybody liked that idea.

Rhymey and Fluttershy were put in charge of the scavenger hunt.

Starla and Lightning's friends were in charge of decorations.

The girls were in charge of the food and etc.

The next morning, Jewel woke up and stretched. The sun was shining bright and the sky was clear. Jewel got out of bed and put her clothes on. She went into the living room, but to her surprise, she didn't see Lightning nor Starla.

"Huh? Weird. Where are they?" Jewel thought. She went into town and to each of her friends house.... only to find them empty. Jewel was really confused. "Where is everybody?"

Suddenly a small, folded piece of paper appeared in front of her. "What's this?" Jewel asked herself.

She grabbed the paper and unfolded it. There was a message inside the paper;

Hi Jewel,

If you are reading this then you've started your birthday scavenger hunt for four presents left by your friends.

To find them all you must follow these clues.

Here's the first one:

To find the first gift will be a treat. To to the place where stuff smells sweet.

"Stuff that smells sweet." Jewel repeated to herself. "Hmmmm.... The Cake's Café!"

Jewel walked to the Cake's Café and saw her first present in front of the door. Using her magic, she picked it up and saw another note on the box. It read:

Good job! You are doing great.
Now go to the place where measured is your weight

"Where you get your weight measured. The hospital!" Jewel said.

Jewel went to New Ponyville Hospital and saw her second present up on the roof leaning over the edge. Jewel took the box in her magic and found a third note.

Now go to the place where their majesties live.

"New Canterlot? But why would I go there?" Jewel asked herself. She shrugged and used her magic to teleport to New Canterlot. She walked to the royal palace gate where layed her fourth present; this one was bigger than the other three.

She picked it up and held it in her arms. She found the last note, which ready;

Now go to the throne room for your special surprise

Jewel went to the throne room and opened the door to find the room completely dark. "Hello! Anybody here?"

Suddenly, the room lit up and all of Jewel's friends even the royal ones and Abra leapt out yelling SUPRISE..!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEWEL...!!!

Jewel could hardly believe her eyes. Several tables with plenty refreshments were set up and all her friends hugged Jewel.

"Solo did you like your presents didyoudidyoudidyou?" Pinkie asked quickly.

"Pinkie, I haven't even open them yet." Jewel replied.

"Well that can wait! LET'S PARTY!" Pinkie cried. The party began, there were songs and cake and games, especially one of everyone’s favorite game, Ship-Battle; a magical game that was played with illusions consisting of ships at sea. They split into two teams, males vs. females; Captain Celesto VS Celestia of the Seas

Celestia’s team seemed to be on the verge of a comeback. Starla gazed through her telescope. “Enemy sighted, Captain.” she said playfully. Celestia nodded. “B5 and H7” and her ship sailed into position. “…Artillery, fire!” and the magical beam was fired at Grand Ruler’s ship, hitting it full force. “A direct hit!” cried Lightning “One more hit and we’re sunk.”

“Surrender, Captain Celesto.” Celestia playfully called over. “Surrender!!” hollered the girls.

Grand Ruler simply smirked “The war is not over until it is over, Celestia of the Seas.” he said. “G6 and H7-- Fire!” Their shots missed and the girls teased the guys, but Celesto smirk widened and motioned above them “Have you forgotten about the aerial search?” The girls gasped and looked above and saw three of the guys soaring over them. “BOMBS AWAY!!” and they dropped the bombs but before they could hit the girls ship.

"Ooh Jewel~" Celestia sang. Jewel sprang up in her wolf form and batted the bombs away with her tail, sensing them back to the boys ship.

"INCOMING..!!" Grand Ruler cried. The bombs exploded on the guys ship, sinking it and winning the girls the game.

Everybody shared a laugh and had cake. Jewel cut it into equal pieces and shared it with her friends. Suddenly cake was splattered onto Fluttershy and Rhymey's faces.

Jewel was shocked until she saw Rainbow with a cake-covered hand, pointing and laughing at them. The girls surrounded Rainbow smirking at her. Rainbow smilied nervously. The girls threw the cake at each other covering each ither in cake. The girls laughed.

The girl's started a conga line with Jewel in the front and Lightning and his friends joined in.

Abra Kadabra had been especially invited to do a magic show at Celestia’s request. Everyone was glad he could come, especially Goldwin. We’re it not for his magic, he wouldn’t have his enchanted mask and he would still be just a statue.

Abra even invited Jewel to perform in an act with him, in which she stepped into a clear box and could still be seen by everyone, and a magic manacle over her horn preventing her from using her own powers. “Ready…” Abra shouted “Three… two… one…!” he clapped his hands, and the box exploded; both it and Jewel were gone, much to everyone shock. Rarity fainted, completely overwhelmed, and Fluttershy hid behind Rhymey.

“What happened to her?” asked Lightning.

Abra turned and smiled smugly to everyone “Why, there’s no reason to be alarmed…” he took off his hat, held it in midair and Jewel popped right out and landed on her feet, safe, unharmed, and still with the manacle attached to her horn. “That was incredible, Abra.” she said. Abra bowed to her and the cheering audience.

Finally, it was present opening time, "Open mine first!" Pinkie suggested.

Jewel opened Pinkie's gift; it was her one little cookbook. "Woah.... Thanks Pinkie." Jewel said. Jewel opened the test of her friends presents; Rarity and Starla gave Jewel a necklace and a dress with pink stripes and white stars in it. Buddy gave Jewel a bouquet of pink flowers. Artie have her a painting of two wolves, one gray and the other black. They looked just like her parents.

Finally, their majesties gave Jewel the larger box she found outside the palace. “Here you go. This one is very special." Celestia stated.

Jewel opened it and pulled out the gifts and everybody gasped in awe at what they were; an incubator with an egg in it. The egg was yellow with black stripe, “An egg?! Where did you find this?!" Lightning asked. Grand Ruler and his wife smirked, "We know some ponies."

Suddenly the egg began to glow brightly. Jewel set it down gently on the floor and the egg began to take the shape of a creature.

It is primarily light brown with a darker brown muzzle, paws, and ear tips. It has large blue eyes, button ears, a short muzzle with a triangular pink nose, and a short tuft of fur on each cheek. Around its neck is a ruff of grayish-white fur stubbed with dark brown pebbles. The dark brown markings on its paws extend to a thin point on each wrist and ankle. It has a grayish-white tail that curls tightly over its back and is covered in fluffy fur.

It yawned and looked at the first thing they saw.... Jewel. "Hi there, little one." Jewel greeted. The creature cried happily and leaped into Jewel's arms knocking her over and nuzzling her face.

"STOP IT! HAHAHAHA! THAT TICKLES! HAHAHAHA..!!!" Jewel cried.

"It is so cute. But what is it?" Rarity asked. "It’s a Rockruff." A voice replied. Everybody turned and saw Mykan at the doorway. "Sorry I'm late for the party."

"There a what and a what, Mykan?" Lightning asked. "A Rockruff is an rock-type pokemon."

"Poke-what?" Rainbow asked.

"Pokemon or pocket monsters and creatures that come in all shaped, sizes and types."

"So when you say Rockruff is a rock-type. You mean?" Starla asked.

“Rockruff can use rock type attacks." Mykan replied.

The ponies were amazed. Rockruff looked at their majesties and walked up to them. It pawed Celestia's grown. "Awww, I think she likes you, your majesty.”

Celestial giggled, “It think you’re right.”

Jewel smiled at all her friends, “Thanks you guys. This is the best birthday ever...!!!” Jewel cried.

All the friends smiled and laughed. They continued partying into the night.
