Dino Saurian Rex
Chapter 19: The Tyrant Lizard King
Previous ChapterNext ChapterWe’re now in the forests in the river valley, and on the other side of the river valley, there was a large structure made entirely out of unknown material with blue lanterns.
“Is that it?” Applejack asks,
“Well, this has to be the place.” I say, “Let’s go.”
Before we’re about to head for the structure, we hear strange unearthly noises that sound like this...

“What’s that sound?” Applejack asks,
Then I see two large figures coming from the stream down the valley. They do look like large theropod dinosaurs with two fingers on each small arms. I think we’re right close to the T-Rex territory. “Bad news: the only way to get to the structure on the other side is to get pass the T-Rex territory.”
“T-T-T-Rexes!” Fluttershy faints in fear.
Pinkie shrugs and she turns back. “Oh well. We tried.”
I grab Pinkie’s hair trying to stop her. “No one is going anywhere.”
“Well why not just go around it?” Rainbow asks as Nick helps Fluttershy up,
“The valley’s too big, and all we need to do is stick together, and head through.”
“He’s right.” Twilight says, “There’s no turning back.”
“Follow me.”
We quietly walk down the river valley in order to get to the structure from the other side.
“Everybody, keep your mouths shut.” I whisper, “They have excellent hearing.”
“Right.” Kelly whispers,
As we carefully trek through the woods while sticking together with extreme caution, everything is quiet expect the birds chirping.
Within about five minutes later, we’re almost to the stream, but we’re not out of the woods yet. Just then, we hear branches snapping from the right.
“Hide.” I whisper quietly,
We quietly run into one of the bushes, and hide down inside it.
A young female Tyrannosaurus Rex shows up from the right, and it walks towards the stream. But from the stream are four more T-Rexes. Two male sub-adults, one adult male and one adult female. Male T-Rexes have brightly colored feathers for mating rituals, and have mane while females have dull color, and their mane is shorter than males.
“Stay here.” I whisper, “Twilight come with me.”
Twilight and I quietly emerges out of the bushes, and we hide inside the other bushes near the outside world.
“What’re we doing?” Twilight asks quietly,
“I just wanted to show you something about T-Rex.” I reply, “These predators live in family groups, plus they hunt in packs.” I point at these two male sub-adult T-Rexes playing fighting. “And these two youngsters can lure their prey into a death trap using their speed and agility due to their long legs.”
In 1942, paleontologists found fossil bones of a small tyrannosaur name Nanotyrannus; however, in 2001, paleontologists suggested that the Nanotyrannus was actually a juvenile T-Rex, and now the dinosaur Nanotyrannus had never existed again just like the Brontosaurus who is mistaken by Apatosaurus in 1975, but now we discovered that the Brontosaurus as a second species of Apatosaurus.
“And these banana-sized teeth are serrated for bone crushing thanks to their incredibly powerful jaws that could break a bone in half. And if the prey escapes from their bite, they can slowly die of infection from the T-Rex’s septic bite like modern day Komodo Dragons.” I say, “These arms are so small, and they’re the size of ours, but their arms are way stronger than an average person, and can be use to hold on their prey or use for... you don’t want to know.”
“Can they see or hear us?” Twilight asks quietly,
“Yes unless we’re hiding, but their binocular vision is thirteen times greater than an average human.”
“That’s more than a hawk.”
“Exactly. It would make this dinosaur the sharpest eyesight of all time. And their hearing organs are highly sensitive which is use to detect small sounds to see if their prey is nearby, and listen to this.”
The adult male and female T-Rexes make sounds that vibrate the air as they communicate with each other.
“They don’t roar, but they use sound vibrations. That’s how they can communicate with each other.”
“That gives me the chills.” Twilight says,
“And also, their brain is larger than an average human, but their thinking part of the brain is smaller than ours, but they’re not stupid, but they have special senses like they can smell prey up to three miles away thanks to their long nasal cavity.”
“We sure we don’t want to bring these here in Equestria.”
“You have creatures more dangerous than T-Rex.”
“Right, how’d you know?”
“You told me about them.”
“Oh yeah.”
Just then, something big walk right pass us without noticing us, and then out of the opening causing the T-Rex family to startle. It was another adult male T-Rex.
As the male T-Rex guards his young, the female stands for a fight. The T-Rex screeches trying to scare away the rival male, but he wasn’t scared.
The two opponents charge each other, and they clash while the father watches them fight.
“Oh gosh! This is brutal.” Twilight says,
“Sometimes T-Rexes are cannibalistic.” I say, “Let’s go while they’re distracted.”
As we round up the others, the defending female bites the rival male in the snout.
“Let’s get out of here.” I say,
We run to the right to get around these dangerous predators, and as we’re a couple of yards away from the T-Rexes, we run across the outside world without the T-Rexes noticing.
The rival T-Rex shakes it off, and then takes a bite onto the female, but the defender takes a bite behind the neck causing the rival male to let go. As the rival male shakes it off, he takes a bite out of the defending female in the neck. As we run across the river, one young female T-Rex spots us, and then it starts to follow as the father groans trying to stop his daughter.
“It looks like the youngster has a little snack.” Applejack says,
“Oh Celestia!” I say,
The mother T-Rex turns to attention to her youngster, but the rival male pushes the distracting opponent, but before he was about to finish her off, he turns to attention to us, and then it heads for us or for the teenage female T-Rex.
“RUN!” I shout,
We run down stream as fast as we can as the young female turns to the rival male as he run after her. The father T-Rex runs after her daughter. The worst case scenario, is that the rival male T-Rex is now following us.
“He’s gaining on us!” James shouts,
“And he looks like he’s hungry.” I say,
We’re almost to the trees as we made it out of the river, but the rival male draws closer.
Fluttershy trips over a rock, and fall forward.
“Fluttershy!” Nick runs back over her.
“Nick, wait.” I run after Nick.
As Fluttershy tries to get up, the rival male T-Rex stops over her, and looks down at her. She’s paralyzed in fear believing the T-Rex was about to eat her alive.
“Hey, no one messes with Fluttershy!” Nick grabs a rock, and throws it at the male’s snout.
The rival male turns to attention to Nick.
“Oh boy.” Nick says,
“Now we’re next.” I say,
But before the rival male T-Rex is about to move forwards to eat us, he suddenly shirek, and then he looks at his left leg seeing a young female T-Rex. As the female lets go of his leg, and runs off, the rival T-Rex follows her leaving Fluttershy behind.
We run over Fluttershy, and we help her up. “Don’t scare me like that, Fluttershy.” Nick says,
Fluttershy cries in fear as she hugs Nick.
“Let’s get out of here.” I say,
As we regroup with the others, the mother T-Rex finally catches up with her rival as she chases down the young female T-Rex.
Without the rival noticing, the female T-Rex shoves the rival trying to save her daughter, and then it falls against the water. The rival T-Rex is still alive, but he can’t move so the defending female takes a bite onto the neck, and crushes it with its powerful jaws killing the intruder T-Rex.
The father along with two other sons walks over his mate, and they rub each others’ snouts in a thank you emotion. The father T-Rex looks down at her surviving daughter, and she rubs her snout.
I watch the T-Rex family thanking each other for saving their territory, and then they feast on the rival male’s corpse. But not before the young female T-Rex looks at me in a thank you look, and then she feasts with her family.
I walk back to the group. “That was scary.”
“For a second there, I thought Fluttershy was a goner.” Rebecca says, “But at least the baby saved the day.”
“Let’s just get out of here before more T-Rexes show up.”
We walk uphill towards the structure.
“Brandon, you’re amazing.” Lauren says, “Without your dinosaur knowledge, we won’t be alive.”
I scratch my head. “I’m just doing my best to make everyone safe.”
“At least we’re together.” Twilight says,
“And that T-Rex moment was awesome.” Pinkie says,
“I’m with you Pinkie Pie.” Rainbow says,
“You know something?” I say, “Tyrannosaurus Rex was my all time favorite dinosaur.”
“That was my favorite too.” Lauren says,
That surprises me. “Really?”
“Yeah. Because this dinosaur is awesome thanks to its special senses like smell, vision and hearing.”
I blush. “Yeah.”
Author's Note
It looks like they survived the ultimate dinosaur adventure even they survived a T-Rex attack, but what will happen if they made it to Celestia’s mother’s location? Find out on the next chapter tomorrow.
UPDATE: I edited this chapter to replace the defending male with a female because I’d been doing some research that female T-Rexes leave her mate guarding their young to find food for their offspring. I’m guessing that female T-Rexes can protect their territory or hunt alone to feed their young while males protect their offspring.
