Book 1: Foundation of Equestria
Saga 1, To be a Princess: Least Favoured
Previous ChapterNext Chapter"You stupid selfish inconsiderate stubborn foal of a nag!" Noche shouted, stamping his hoof so hard on the floor it splintered and cracked. His wings were spread wide, making him even more intimidating. The eldest of the two sisters shrunk down, forcing herself from crying "Thanks to your stupidity, my son nearly got killed! He'll be lucky to just have a few scars and a permanent twitch! I would eat you alive out of rage, but you'd leave a bitter taste in my mouth... Just as bitter as your heart." every word felt like a physical stab. But it was understandable. If this happened to Luna, she'd be just as angry. But she had nearly killed her sister... All she did was hurt others.
"Noche!" shouted the voice of a mare. Celestia looked up to see the mare that Luna called Ma, Armadura De Estrella. Her wings were spread wide, and was determined to protect this grief stricken filly who didn't know much better. Her whole life had just been burnt to cinders, it needed to be reborn like a phoenix, not destroyed even further "This is a filly, one that is barley old enough to understand what's going on. All her life she has been with that dead hearted mare, she doesn't know any better, she doesn't know we are better! THIS, is making us look as evil as she is making herself believe we are."
"Father..." La Sombra Del Sol said as he walked up next to his sister in law "This isn't the way. I'm scared for Medianoche, but taking your rage out on Celestia isn't the right thing to do. She's part of our family now, and so, we must deal with this like you would do your own." he didn't want to be here, but they were here as support for Medianoche. Starswirl left to care for the ponies while everyone came to care for and wait for his recovery. Lightning was powerful and dangerous, no mortal is purely immune to it. Even lightning spirits can be harmed by it.
Celestia looked up at the stallion. He was a little like Skiadrum, but sounded far kinder. He was still scary, no denying that, but he wasn't AS scary was the rainbow and emotionless stallion. La Sombra Del Sol sighed, looking down at the scared Celestia. His brother risked a lot for thus young one, so he would do the same. She had great potential, something deep inside her that was crawling out of a cage locked away. The potential to be a good leader, a good mare that her subjects would love. Armadura saw it as well, not that Noche cared right now. All he could see was a stupid filly that almost killed her own sister and nearly killed his son.
"Don't you try Sol, this bitch is as evil as her mother! The very one who murdered her own husband out of boredom, and thanks to that selfishness, our world is going to Tartarus! These storms are getting worse and worse, more frequent as well!" she flinched at the elders words, his voice like a storm that was threatening to throw her into oblivion "She has inherited her mothers evilness, just look at her baby sister!"
"I've seen it," Armadura sighed, her ears down, but she refused to not stop him from crushing her heart any further "If we keep this up we'll attract the Wendigo!" the fact was harsh but true. Wendigo were a sub-species of Umbrum, and thankfully were willing to leave the Umbrum alone, but Armadura was fearing the sake of the ponies. And the other living beings were short life spans. They were so young... She'd blinked and wanted the whole life time of a rabbit fly by once. It was hard, but thanks to her husband, they were starting to live like the ponies. Twenty four hours in a day, and they got to feel every day of the pony year. They still aged extremely slow, but they now had more time to do things as well as the short naps.
Luna frowned at the sleeping stallion, looking at all of him, the parts that weren't under the white sheets. It was the royal infirmary, a room that was white, clean and had the sense of healing about it. There was a nurse in here too, a mare Luna had yet to speak with. she was a very dark blue, her mane being a dark purple and her eyes were a bright yellow. she had a horn, slightly curved. it seemed to be a common birth defect in Umbrum.
she had a bed of her own, but preferred to be with the King. Medianoche nearly killed himself for them, flying in an insane out of control storm just to keep them from being cooked alive inside of his other way of protecting them, a shield. she was snuggled beneath his unbandaged wing, feeling the beat of his hearts against his chest. a fact she found oddly sootthing. Umbrum having two hearts. he had a strong body, powerful magic, and was extremely kind. he'd done a lot for them, changing the body clock of his whole species for them and was even becoming in tune with pony song magic for them. Celestia was just hurting, she'll calm down soon.
he was warm, and comfortable. so much so that she was starting to fall asleep by his side. Cosmo was gone, a very sad truth, but for now, Medianoche Brilliante will there for her. daddy was gone, but he was here to stay. his long life span meant he'd always be there for her, for them. he would help her sister, she just knew it. his heart was big enough to save a thousand souls, she just knew it. ma taught her a lot while her sister moped. Armadura was so much nicer than her old mommy, and while he would never be as good as daddy, he'll be good enough to fill that void.
Toque Dulce smiled as she watched the little filly go to sleep next to their mighty King. he had such a kind heart that he risked his life. all of Shadowlogia were praying he had a quick recovery, and while many are angry it was because of some silly filly, they were all not surprised he risked himself for another. Cosmo Skies was his best friend, and these were his friend's foals, it was unsurprising he wanted to care for them. Toque sighed, her horn glowing with black as she wrote his progress on a clipboard.
Toque Dulce peeked at Luna again, the smile on her face growing. the Queen had bonded very well to the filly, the fact being something to be proud of "i hope you treat him well, Princess Luna." she was young, she was silly, but Luna was a good Princess. her older sister was too deep in grief to understand they were trying to help her, and her snobbishness was making her the least favoured of the sisters. she hadn't earned the title yet, but if the king thought she could become a great ruler, who were they to say otherwise "Oh our mighty King, i hope you never change, even if it means you end up in the infirmary..."
