The Infamous Story Of Blitz

~Chapter 2~

It was a peaceful day in the town of Las Pegasus. The town was the same everyday. It was hot, ponies came to gamble, and it always had the smell of dream being crushed. But for one Pegasus, it was where he lived. It's been ten years after the little colt lost his father and his one best friend. But our friend has dealt with alot of things after the death of this father.

At the age of seven, Blitz went to school for the first time. He wasn't really the outspoken one of the school and wasn't the popular colt in the school. But it was nothing Blitz couldn't handle. As he finished school at the age of twelve, believe it or not, Blitz found his first lover. Her name was Sunflower, and she meant the world to Blitz. They met when Blitz crashed right onto her when he was attempting to pull off one of his tricks he had been practicing. It was love at first sight for the two of them. They spent most of their time together. If it was going out to eat dinner, or just simply laying on the hills and watching the clouds go by. Blitz finally found happiness in his life. They are still going out to this day as a matter of fact.

By the age of thirteen Blitz made it on his town's football team. He played as middle line backer after a transition from running back. But Blitz was finally doing what he wanted to do ever since he was young. He played football. Every day he tackles colts twice the size of him and he reads plays like a charm. He knew this is where he wanted to be. But the strange part was, he didn't have a cutie mark yet. It was no helmet, no football, not even a yard line mark. Just a plain white flank. He didn't know what his special talent was, but he would find it someday. But when thing were starting to look up to the colt. Things seemed to go straight down hill for the poor Pegasus.

Just last year his aunt had a heart attack and passed away. Blitz couldn't believe that just nine years ago his father died, and now his final guardian died. It was heart wrecking for the young Pegasus. Soon after her funeral, Blitz's sister, Pom-Pom, announced that she was getting married and she would be moving out of Equestria. Blitz couldn't go to his sister wedding. He was afraid if he would show up, more ponies would die. He thought maybe his special talent was death, and a scythe would appear on his flank at any given moment. Soon after his sister moved away and Blitz was all alone in Las Pegasus, in his aunts will she stated that her home and furniture would be given to Blitz as a gift. Now, at the young age of fifteen, Blitz had a home and that it was all to himself, Sunflower would be able to stay with Blitz longer. The two were happy together, and it seemed that they would stay together for the rest of their lives. Until that one day. The present day. The day where it seemed it was the second worse day of his life.

It all started out at his football practice. Our Pegasus was already late to his practice and he got an earful from his coach. So Blitz had to get his pads on and he had to get on the field to start his practice. As soon as he was done he ran out on the side line to get a drink of water. Blitz was dressed up in his football pads and had his helmet on the ground next to him. The white Pegasus took one final drink of water before putting on his helmet and started to practice. Today Blitz was working on 7 on 7. Which was where there were seven colt on offense, and seven colts on defense. It was mostly a passing drill which Blitz defiantly needed to work on was pass coverage.

As Blitz got into his huddle he seen what he was working with. The colts he talked to the most on defense was a mere two stallions. One was Renegade. He was a corner who was both fast and was good at covering a receiver, but he could never seem to catch a ball. Then their was a colt named Shinning Armor. Now he was the stud of our defense. Sure Blitz could tackle stallions twice his size, but SA was bigger, taller, and stronger that Blitz could ever be. If he caught the ball on defense, he could take on five stallions at once before bringing him down. But Instead of fun times, Blitz needed to focus on the practice and not remember any names. He got the call from coach. 4-3, Cover 4. Blitz made the call to his defense. And in unison the broke the huddle. "Ready to kick some offensive ass, Blitz?" Renegade said with pads covering up his blue coat. Blitz looked over at him and starred at his brown eyes. "Ready to catch an interception, Ren?" Blitz said teasing him and his stone hoofs. They smiled and got to their position.

The offense broke and the quarterback walked up to the line of scrimmage. Now Blitz has seen alot of quarterbacks in his past years playing, but none were better for Las Pegasus than Magicka. The star quarterback of the team. That green unicorn was probably the one colt Blitz actually despised the most out of all the players on the team. He hated his stupid smile after he shows off the defense. Even if he scores against us in practice he just gives me that smile. That wide, stupid smile. He got down to start the play. "Down! Set!" he said as he sent a colt in motion. Blitz watched the colt in motion and followed him.

"Blue 50, Blue 50. Hike!"

He dropped back with the ball levitating next to him. Blitz followed the receiver he kept his eyes on and stuck to him like glue. But when Magicka threw to the guy Blitz was covering, Blitz seen his chance to intercept the ball for his defense. The white Pegasus dove to seek his catch, but he missed it. The ball was just inches to his grasp and his receiver caught the ball. Blitz fell on his facemask as he skid five yards toward the sideline. As he got up he seen Shinning Armor cream him. Blitz looked at Magicka and he gave him the disgusted smile. As he seen that smile Blitz seen he got some grass in his facemask, and he had to pick it out as he walked to the huddle.

"What the hell was that all about, Blitz? That should of been yours." Shinning Armor said as he cracked his neck to get loose after his hit. "I don't know what happened their guys. But it wont happen again." Blitz said as he was getting the next call from his coach. "Same call." he said to his defense. They broke the huddle at the same time the offense did. Magicka looked at our formation. He checked. "Check 76, Check 76!" he yelled and his offense responded by changing their formation. No colt was over Blitz so all he had to do was watch the QB's eyes and protect the middle of his field. "Down! Set!" Magicka got down in his stance.

"Green 18, Green 18. Hike!"

He dropped back and Blitz watched his eyes. He looked left, Blitz moved left. He looked right, Blitz moved right. Magicka was still looking for a colt to throw it to. Blitz figured he would of been sacked already, but then again he did always get outta tough situations. Finally the green pegasus found a colt and threw it. Renegade was covering him but he slipped and his receiver caught it and he was running straight for the middle of the field. Blitz saw his opportunity and took it. When he came up to his prey he chopped his hoofs so if he would juke him he could tackle him. Of course the receiver took the bait and he got smoked by Blitz. The white pegasus got up shacking his head in victory. The reciever got up and gave Blitz a dirty look. Blitz looked at him and smiled as he was congratulated by the other players on defense for a nice tackle.

"All day, baby!" the white Pegasus said cocky "I'm here all day!" He turned around to call the next play for his defense. "MLB Blitz Right, Cover 4." They broke. Blitz wondered why his name was Blitz. Probably because he loved to blitz alot on defense. The offense broke and came up to the line.

Magicka lined up. "Down! Set!" Blitz wanted to hit Magicka so bad, but if he did he would get in a huge amount of trouble. Blitz had to simply run up to Magicka and tap his foreleg.

"Red 30, Red 30! Hike!"

Magicka dropped back. Blitz ran up to Magicka to tap his foreleg. But when Blitz got to him, Magicka put his helmet and shoulder pad right into our friend. The hit was pretty hard considering it made Blitz get swept off his hoofs and immediately hitting the ground with great force. Blitz got the wind knocked out of him, and he watched as Magicka was still up and he passed the ball. Blitz got up slowly and he headed to the sidelines to catch his breath. "Talk smack to my receiver again, I'll break your damn skull! Even with your damn helmet on!" the green unicorn said as he stood in his place and gave him a smile as Blitz limped off the field.

By the time Blitz got to the sideline the practice was announced over and the player got to go home for tomorrows practice. But most of the players stayed to take a shower in the locker room. Blitz wanted to just go home and relax with Sunflower waiting for him. But Blitz knew if he went home without taking a shower yet again, Sunflower would kill him. So the white pegasus walked in the locker room to put his pads in his locker.

"You alright man?" Renegade asked as he was taking his shoulder pads off. Blitz opened his locker. "Yeah. Im fine. Just got the wind knocked outta me is all."  Shinning Armor was next to Blitz as he was getting his towel to go take his shower. "You got your ass knocked down is what happened to you. Your lucky it was Magicka that trucked you. If that was me, you probably would be dead." he said as he threw his towel over his back. Blitz unbuckled his straps to his shoulder pads.

"Yes, Armor. I know if you were our quarterback and that happened I would be eating out of a tube in the hospital. I know, I get it. Ive heard it a thousand time from you." Armor shook his head, closed his locker, and headed for the showers. "Blitz, Armor was just kidding. Why do you always take things so seriously?" Renegade commented as he too was getting his towel to get in the shower. Blitz sighed and took his shoulder pads off. "Because it gets annoying after you hear same thing everyday over and over again." Blitz untied his strings to his practice pants. He quoted Armor but with a mocking voice. "Oh. Blitz. If that was you out there and I was quarterback, you would of been dead." Blitz groaned. "Give me a break. Like seriously. That joke is starting to get old. Lets grow up and mature some. Celestia damn it."

Renegade just closed his locker and sighed as he made his way to the showers. Blitz did indeed hate being always judged. There was nothing in the Known World that got on Blitz's nerves than ponies making fun of him. But Blitz just shook it off and proceeded to head do the showers to get washed up to get to his marefriend back at his house.

As he entered, he was lucky enough to get Magicka in the shower. "Perfect." Blitz whispered to himself. He entered the shower and started to bathe himself hoping not to have a conversation with the green unicorn. But right when Blitz thought about avoiding him, he heard a voice that sounded like claws on a chalkboard. "So how was the dirt, Blitz? I heard it was nice and hard." Magicka commented on his earlier domination over Blitz. The other colts in the shower laughed. Blitz kept quiet. "Hey!" Blitz got hit with a bar of soap. "Did you hear me!" the unicorn said in a more angry tone. "Yes." Blitz said in a light voice. "What!" the unicorn in a more hateful voice. Blitz turned around. "Yes, I heard you." Blitz answered in a much louder voice. Magicka smiled at Blitz.

"Why do you even play football, Blitz? You are better off on the bench. Oh. I actually stand corrected. You have yet to play in one full game!" Magicka laughed and was later joined in by the other football players. Blitz hated it, but it was true. For how good he played the coach just never gave Blitz a chance to show how he really can do out on the field. Blitz just turned around and resumed his wash up. "Plus, you don't even have your cutie mark yet. Can you even get more ridiculous?" Magicka said as he looked at his football on his flank and laughed. Everypony did the same, as Blitz was the only one without a cutie mark. It was good that Blitz was in the shower. Because if he wasn't the team would see that Blitz was crying.

"Just quit, Blitz. It would be better for you to just stay off the team than take up room on the bench." the green unicorn said as he got his towel to dry off. Blitz just looked at the wall in front of him and kept his mouth shut, as he tried to keep his sad inhales to himself.

As the green unicorn left, it seemed that the entire locker room was empty. Blitz just sat on the bench in his teams locker room. He just wanted to sit there and not move. The comment of him not being good enough for anything always stuck with him ever since he joined the team. But Blitz couldn't let that comment get to him. He just needed to show coach and the other players that he could play. But by todays performance, he may never reach that day. Blitz just sighed and walked out of the locker room. "Just another day on the grid iorn." Blitz said to himself. He took a deep breath and flew off toward his house to see his marefriend waiting for him. At least nothing can go wrong with him and Sunflower. Right?
