The Infamous Life Of Blitz

~Chapter 7~

One week after his interview and his suspension was over. That meant one true thing to the pegasus. He got to play football. Now all he had to do was get the bits he needed to get that certificate, buy a train ticket to Ponyville, fly to Cloudsdale, Take the test, employ,  and our white friend would be living the good life. What sucked about being able to play football again was that he came back on the same exact day they were facing Trottingham.

He had no time to warm up considering all Blitz did while he was suspended was: A: Practice his flying so he could maneuver around faster. B: Go to that interview and made him the happiest colt in Equestria. C: Sit on his ass the entire time. Blitz couldn't go to practice now considering that coach said he was suspended for exactly two weeks. Tomorrow was the big game and he got a call from Renegade saying that he needed to be there at six at night. He couldn't train knowing that he didn't really have any equipment that would make him any better, or at least get him back to hitting as well as he did on Magicka. There was nothing he could do to help him get ready for the game.

Our friend was now on his bed tossing and turning trying to figure out what the hell was going to happen to him. He never did play in one full game. So why would coach put him in? Or maybe he was gonna go in. Impossible. He hasn't been at practice for Celestia's sake. He just groaned at the thought that he was screwed no matter what happened. The pegasus sighed as his mind went blank. Nothing nor anything was on his mind. He closed his eyes. Moments passed until Blitz's imagination took over.

He was in a building. A very similar building. He took a look around. He was in a hallway that had several doors on both sides. He looked at the plaque of the closest door to him. It read 001. Blitz trotted down the hall further. The next door read 002. "Wait." Blitz said as he got a thought in his head. He continued further. The number was plus one on the next door. The next 004. The next 005. Blitz stopped as he looked down the hall.

He seen a little colt backing away from the door. He looked scared as he looked left and right. "Is that..." Blitz said as he moved closer to the child. The colt went away in the opposite direction. "Hey!" Blitz called out. The colt didn't answer as he kept on trotting down the hall and took a right. There was something very similar about that colt that gave our pegasus the chills. Blitz stood in the place the colt was just recently. Blitz whispered to himself. "That couldn't of been me." He looked at the door the colt was just in front of.

Room 006.

Blitz's eyes lit up as he backed up against the wall behind him. He was starting to hyperventilate. The doorway seemed to get larger and bigger. Blitz had to close his eyes and look away, for it was too much for the stallion to take.

Then Blitz screamed in horror as he opened his eyes and shot up from his bed. He looked around his room from left to right in a fast motion. He was still breathing hard as if he got done running a mile. Blitz clenched his chest for the feeling of a heart attack was imminent. He leaned forward as he buried his head in his blanket and sheets. Blitz never before thought about his youth. EVER. He just didn't want to. For all about thinking about the past only brought him depression. And on the day that his dad died? Did it really have to go that far back? Blitz shook his head in the sheets. For the pain of that memory made Blitz start to tear up.

For it reminded him of his father. What made it worst was seeing himself right when he wasn't allowed in that room as the news about his sickness was announced to his dad. Blitz took a deep breath in, for he was starting to sob. The blast from the past wasn't at all what Blitz wanted that night. All he wanted to do was go to sleep and wake up tomorrow to go play football. Football. A depressing thought came to him. He never told his father about his dream. The thought hit Blitz's heart like an arrow. And not an arrow of love. But...Pain. Blitz fell over his bed as he was now on the bedroom floor rolling in utter sadness.

"I..I'm...S...So...Sorry Da...Daad." he wept to himself as if he was in the room with him. "I w..wish y..you were h.he..here." he whispered to himself as he curled up in a ball and cried. The poor pegasus was truly heart broken. He never wanted to see his past. Not like that.

Out of nowhere the doorbell rang. Blitz looked at his doorway. He didn't want to answer, for he didn't want to let anypony to see what kind of condition he was in. He just laid on the floor and continued to weep. The bell rang again. Blitz this time knew that whoever was at the door wasn't going to leave. He got up and whipped his eyes so when he answered it would look like he wasn't crying. He flew into the bathroom to see if he was a wreck. He looked into the mirror. His eyes were bloodshot a little and under his eyes his coat was messy due to the tears. He whipped his eyes and fixed the screw up in his coat. The doorbell rang again.

"Coming!" Blitz said as he made one final touch to his face. He flew to the door so who ever was at the door wouldn't wait any longer. He opened it and was greeted to thee one and only drunk of Las Pegasus as he remembered him.

"Hey Blitz." said the brown pegasus as he gave him a friendly smile. "Oh. Hey Ironsides." Blitz said as he sniffed and whipped his eyes with his forehoof.

"Uh, you alright, dude?" he asked as he stepped forward a little and rose a hoof halfway up. "Yeah." he responded as he was beginning to get the thoughts of his father back in his head. He inhaled as he tried to contain his sadness. "You don't sound alright. What's going on?" he said as he demanded to know. Blitz's face crunched up with tears and he turned and walked toward his couch. He was about to ball again and he didn't want Ironsides to see. The brown colt followed him, closing the door as he entered. Blitz flew on his couch and planted his head in a pillow. Ironsides sat on the couch next to Blitz. Blitz couldn't help it. The thoughts were too much for him to bear, as he cried into his couch pillow.

"Hey now, buddy," he said as he patted the white pegasus on the back, "What's with the water works?" he said now knowing something was definitely wrong with his friend. Blitz got up and looked at Blitz. He knew he looked like a complete mess, but he could care less. "Its my father." he said as he looked at his coffee table. Iron looked at his depressed friend with a sad face. "What about your father?" he asked leaning in to get an answer for the broken stallion. "I thought about him just five seconds ago." Blitz said as he whipped his eyes again. "Oh." Iron said realizing why he was crying. "You miss him, don't you?" Blitz nodded as he looked at the iron pegasus. "Yeah." said the iron horse. "I miss mine too..."

Blitz looked at him in confusion. He whipped his eyes and faced him. "What happened to him?" Ironsides sighed. "He's still alive. My mom is too. But I can never see them again." he said as he looked at Blitz's TV. Blitz tilted his head. "Why not?" he said as he sniffed. "They think I'm dead." he said as he now looked at the ground. Blitz's eyes went wide. His parents thought he was dead? "Why?" asked the clueless stallion. "Remember when I explained how I got these?" he said as he leaned forward to show Blitz his Iron wings. Blitz nodded. "Well." he sighed. "I got vengeful..." he said as he leaned back. Blitz was now forgetting about his father and was more interested in the story his iron friend was telling him. "How?" Blitz asked as he leaned on his couch. Ironsides sighed.

"It was by complete accident, at first. I dragged myself into the Everfree Forest and tried to find shelter. They sent out a search party to look for me. Turns out I left a blood trails leading into the forest. They must've thought my body was grabbed by some creature." Blitz put a hoof over his mouth as he was shocked. "But that's not the worst part..." he said. Blitz was even more shocked. "That's not the worst part?" he said as he gave him a surprised look. Iron shook his head. "Well, what happened?" Iron turned away. "I shouldn't say it. You'd hate me for all of eternity." Blitz wanted to know what happened. He didn't wanna end the story with him clueless. "Please say it." Blitz asked politely. The brown pegasus sighed. "Alright." he said as he looked at Blitz. "I felt faking my death would cause the ponies who made fun of me to feel unbelievably guilty when they saw my family's reaction."

He looked away. "But when the procession flew past, I saw the faces of my friends and family, and..." He paused. Blitz looked at him with a sad look. "I just couldn't bear it. So I never went back." He looked at Blitz. "If I ever did go back, they'd never forgive me for doing that to them. So I felt the best thing was to just leave things the way they were." Blitz never in his life heard a story as dark as his friends. "You ran away from your problems didn't you?" Blitz asked. Ironsides looked at Blitz. "Yes, and I was foolish to do so." Blitz didn't know what to say.

"Wow." he said as Blitz just looked at the ground and shook his head. "I really don't know what to say Ironsides." The colt pushed his glasses up and looked at the white pegasus. "There really isn't much to say." He shook his head and rose from his seat. "I need something to drink now. I'm gonna stop by the bar again. Wanna come with? Get to know each other more?" The iron asked as he stretched and started slowly trotting toward the front door. Blitz did indeed want to get to know the colt more, after all he was one of his only friends. But Blitz had to rest for his game tomorrow. He looked at Ironsides and shook his head. "No. I have a football game tomorrow." Blitz answered as he too got out of his seat. the brown pegasus looked at Blitz in a surprised manner. "Oh. You play football?" he asked. Blitz smiled. "Yeah. We got to face a good team tomorrow. You should come watch us play."  Ironsides hook his head in agreement. "I'll come. Just make sure you win. I don't wanna come waste twenty bits just to watch your team get creamed." Blitz laughed. "They will try. But we shall prevail."

The two friends trotted toward the front door. "Listen. I hope you get better. I don't wanna keep seeing you all down all the time. If your feeling down, I'm feeling down." Ironsides said as he embraced Blitz in a hug. Blitz hugged him back. "You get better now. Take care Matt." he said as he trotted out the door. "You too Alex." Blitz responded as he shut his door. Blitz trotted to his room.

As he did Blitz thought he had it rough. Listening to Ironsides story was beyond recognition. Never has he heard of anypony leaving his childhood to avoid further suffering from the amounts of name calling and punishment he received. Even his parents think that pony is dead. Blitz had it backwards. His parents died, he is stuck with his problems, and he had an even worse story. To Blitz, his story was the worst anyway. The white pony climbed into his bed and he got some well deserved rest.

TIME: 6:30 PM

LOCATION: LAS PEGASUS MEMORIAL FIELD

It was silent in the locker room. All the ponies were dressed in their gameday jerseys and were ready to lay it all on the line. Blitz was leaning against a locker, as he had his helmet at his hooves and had his red and black jersey on, and the white colt was listening to the crowd outside the locker room that were waiting for a football game to start. The coach entered and all attention was on him.

"Ok stallions. Lets make sure you all know where your going. If your on offense raise your hoof." Eleven ponies had their hooves up. "Ok, offensive second string." Seven ponies raised their hooves. "Good. Starting defense." Eleven hooves up in the air. "Nice. Second string." Blitz raised his hoof and so did five others. "Ok. And special teams." Numerous stallions raised their hooves. The coach nodded in excitement. "Ok colts. Listen closely. The Trottingham Bears are one of the best teams in our division. If we beat them, there is no way any other team in our division can beat up. All you have to do is do your job out there. If one colt fails to do his job, we all fail. So, lets bring it in and lets go win us a game!" The team came in the center and held their helmets in the middle of the group. Magicka spoke. "Lets go get them boys! Gambles on three! One! Two! Three!" "Gambles!" shouted the entire team and they walked out toward the field.

Blitz trotted in the middle of the pack of football players as he made his way to the gaping hole which was the exit to the field where five thousand ponies were eager to see them play. Blitz's heart started pumping. He felt his adrenaline coming in as he was pumped to play some football. The team started galloping out now as they heard their introduction out onto the field. "And now ladies and gentlecolts. On your hooves for your, Las Pegasus Gambles!" The crowd cheered as their team ran out of the hall and onto the field.

Blitz smiled as he heard all the fans of his team all cheer as they all ran out. He loved the game of football. But he hated the fact that he never played. The entire first quarter Blitz watched from the sidelines as he watched Magicka throw pass after pass, and he watched as there defense was being dominated by Trottingham's offense. The same happened in the second quarter as he watched the same routine over and over again. Come halftime the Gambles were down 24-21. As the team filed in Blitz just leaned against the same old locker and sighed. He knew he wasn't going to go in. For he missed practice for two weeks because of his suspension.

"Ok colt. We are not doing bad out there." the coach said as he once again made his usual halftime speech. It was just the simple block down and follow your colt and more of the talk Blitz didn't need to get on about. As halftime passed and they went back out the team seemed dead. We were slacking, was what came to Blitz's mind. Throughout the third quarter the team surprising held on to a lead but they were up by three. The teams went back and forth as the clock was running out of time. But and unfortunate event happened.

The starting middle line backer got injured. In this late in the game too. Blitz felt a smile grow across his face. "Blitz!" the coach yelled as he looked down the sidelines for the white pegasus. Blitz wasted no time to run out on the field. As he ran he felt butterflies in his stomach. The feeling of being on a football field for the first time in a game was such an awesome feeling for the colt. The Bears had the ball on their own twenty-eight yard line. They needed to get to the Gamble's thirty for a field goal in less than a minute and fifty seconds. The main thing the defense had to do was just stop the offense from getting to the thirty, don't give up a touchdown, and try to intercept the ball. Blitz got into the huddle for the first time.

"Hey. Look who it is. Its Blitz the bitch." Shinning Armor said as he looked at Blitz and smiled. Blitz gave a sarcastic laugh and looked at the coach for the play. "Ok guys lets stop these assholes. 4-3 Cover 4." The defense broke. The offense broke at the same time and got into formation. The quarterback was in shotgun. He motioned a man. Blitz followed him as the colt snapped the ball. Blitz covered his man, but he did a short route. The quarterback seen his receiver and passed it. Blitz flew up smoked the receiver as he caught the ball and the play clock was still rolling.

The offense ran a hurry up and Blitz called the same defensive play. The ball was hiked and he dropped back. Blitz covered the middle of the field as he watched the quarterbacks eyes. He seen the quarterback look left and Blitz flew over to where he looking, but he quarterback fooled him and threw it to the other side and hooked up with a man in the middle of the field. Blitz couldn't catch him since he was way too far from getting the tackle. Renegade made the tackle out of bounds as the clock stopped at fifty eight seconds and the ball was on the Bears forty one yard line. Blitz got into the huddle.

"Those sons of bitches are cheating man. The damn receiver is fucking pushing me off as he goes to catch the damn ball." Renegade complained as he was buttoning his helmet. Blitz looked at him and smiled. "Just a few more seconds and it will all be over with man." he said as an encouragement. Blitz looked at the coach for the next play. "MLB Blitz Cover 3" he said as the defense broke their huddle. The offense broke theirs and came up to the line.

The quarterback was in shotgun again. He hiked the ball. Blitz galloped as fast as he could through the line. He was blocked from getting to the quarterback but he maneuvered through the blockers and crushed the quarterback. Blitz got up and jumped up and down as he got his first sack ever. But the hurry up was ran again and Blitz and his defense had to line up. Blitz knew that a pass deep was coming so he checked. "Hey! Check, 4-4 Cover 3! 4-4 Cover 3!" Blitz lined up in his spot. He knew deep in his soul that this could be the last play of the game. Blitz smiled and the quarterback hiked the ball. But that was all Blitz could remember after that.
