Twilight was still looking for her friends. She walked through the forest, looking through the trees. She put the scope back up to her eyes, looking around. Then she saw something. Zooming in, she saw a mech, covered in vines and moss. She put the scope away and walked toward it. The mech was propped up on a large tree, cock pit opened and it looked abandoned. She kneeled down and walked out of her mech and towards the dead robot. She grabbed her machete out of the sheath and started to cut away the vines. She cut way some moss to reveal a cloud and rainbow thunder. it was Rainbow Dash's mech! Twilight gasped and immediately trotted towards the hatch. She peered inside to reveal an empty chair. The monitors were broken and there was dry blood stains on the chair. She stepped out and looked at the robot again. She saw bullet holes that she hadn't noticed before.
Twilight climbed back into her mech and started to walk off. KA-POW. A bullet hit her mech, causing her to duck for cover. The shot had come up from the trees. She pulled her scope again and looked around she saw a blue blur go by.

Sunblane had picked up an assault rifle and her the sounds of mortar shells going off near them.

"What the hell is going on?!" Cloud Sweeper yelled, the transport shaking like crazy. The transport took a sharp right and avoided the enemy fire.

"YA'LL BETTER GET READY!" The driver yelled. All of them grabbed the weapons on the wall. Midnight's horn glowed, grabbing two LMGs off the wall.

"Shit, THEY'VE DUG TRENCHES! WERE HEADING FOR THE FOREST!" The transport swerved again. All the ponies inside were knocked against a wall. The rumbling of the bombs continued.

"WE ARE ALMOST TO THE FOREST! HANG O-" BOOM.

Sunblane woke up to see the front of the transport stuck in the ground. He got up, examining the area. The back of the transport was opened as well. He grabbed his rifle off the floor with his wing and walked out.

"*Cough* *cough* Sun..blane." Sunblane turned to see Star Facade under the rubble, clinging to life. He walked toward him.

"W-what should I do?" Not having any experience outside his office, he was panicking.

"Move aside." Midnight walked up to Star Facade, her horn glowing. She started to lift up the wreckage of the transport, grunting.

"Hurry! get him!" Sunblane dove down and pulled out Star Facade. Midnight let go of the metal and gasped for air. Cloud Sweeper came out of the wreckage, hearing the calamity outside. He saw Star and ran straight back in. He came out with the medical supplies. He crouched down, focusing on Star Facade. Sunblane looked up into the sky. He spread his wings to fly but his wing hurt. He looked back to see that a part of his wing was burnt. Now that he noticed, it hurt like hell. He grimaced in pain while Midnight looked around.

"With the communication relay destroyed, we can't contact HQ. We'll have to continue without the princess knowing our whereabouts." Sunblane looked around.

"Wait, where s Nimble Tail?" The pegasus had disappeared after the crash. They seemed to have been flung by the explosion into a deep part of the forest. The sound of large steps and gunfire were in the distance. Sunblane went back into the wreck to find the survival kit. He looked for a while until he saw the flare gun. He took it in his mouth and walked out.
Midnight walked into the forest, leaving behind the wreckage.

"We better leave here soon, they could be coming any minute." She said, looking back at the group of ponies. She saw Sunblane come out of the transport and point his head into the sky, the flare gun in his mouth. She trotted over to him and knocked it out of his mouth. The gun fired into the ground.

"What the hell do you think your doing?!" She yelled in his face.

"Why did you do that?" Sunblane replied.

"Its almost sundown and we are in enemy territory. What do you think I was doing?"

"Well-"

"I was stopping you from firing that flare! You know what that would have done?"

"Umm-"

"That would have given away our position! Do you think that those bastards back at base would have seen the flare?!" She was fuming. Sunblane backed down, stepping back. Midnight sighed.

"Look, I know this is your first mission out, but you need to think from time to time. Analyze the situation." She walked off.

"Well, Star Facade's condition is stable, but we wont get far without some kind of way of fast transport." Cloud Sweeper stood up, putting the contents of the med-kit away. Sunblane gazed into the forest. They may die out here.

Twilight tried to chase the blue blur with her eyes. She opened her hatch, stepping out.

"Kill me if you must! If you are a friendly, come down!" Twilight yelled, closing her eyes. Silence. She waited and waited.

"Twilight?" She opened her eyes to a familiar sight, yet pleasing to the eyes. Rainbow Dash was hovering right in front of her. She started to tear up.

"Twilight! Dammit your making me cry.." Rainbow hugged her. A stray tear rolled down Twilight's face. They let go of each other. Twilight got back into her mech. Rainbow got on top of it. They both walked through the forest.

"Twilight wait..." Rainbow pulled out her binoculars."There's smoke to the east!" Twilight turned, looking that direction. There was indeed a plume of smoke rising. She started to head towards it. Rainbow flew off into the trees. The mech crashed through the trees, closing in on the smoke.

Sunblane looked around. Birds flew up from the trees. He could hear the crashing of trees and the thumping of feet.

"EVERYPONY, GET DOWN!" They all dove into the the wreck, Cloud Sweeper dragging Star Facade into it. The crashing stopped. It was silent. A blue pegasus appeared.

"Celestia friendlies?" She pointed a 9mm at them, sniper rifle on her back. Midnight nodded.

"Twilight, they're friendlies!"

"Wait, Twilight Sparkle?"

"Yeah." Sunblane's eyes lit up. They finally found them!

"We were the search party looking for you guys!" He said, walking out. They had finally found them. But what lay in front of them?
