Son of a Wolf

Colt's POV
After the Pegasus petted us she went and spoke to our mother and after they had a little chat mother quickly issued some commands for us and I knew that it meant to follow her and I soon noticed that she was not leading the way but she was following the Pegasus so this got me thinking as to what we were doing. Were we escorting the Pegasus out of our pack's territory? When I could no longer smell the scent of our territory I started to get a little nervous and Iet out a whimper as this was not ojr usual hunting spot so we had never explored this section of the forest, after I let this whimper out Zeus looked at me and let out a low non threatening growl this was to calm me down and i5 worked as I remembered that we had were walking as a whole pack so nothing could stop us so I removed any negative thoughts from my mind and went back to following the Pegasus.

We walked in a rows of 2 with Mother and the Pegasus up at the front with Darkness and Serenity at the back and I have started to notice that they are getting closer and closer with each day as Serenity is nothing like what she used to be because she is so friendly but if something tries to hurt her pack she will not stop until it has left or is dead.

After 10 mins we all hear a noise and when we look in a direction we notice it is a Manticore and we all stand in front of the Pegasus which felt weird at first as that is how we protect helpless members of the pack and I realise we are starting to treat the Pegasus who was shocked as she probably knew what this behaviour meant but she jumped in front of us and spread her wings and began to speak with the Manticore and after a while the Manticore looks at us as wwe all have our ears laid back and have all of our fangs bared and it slowly begins to walk away with the Pegasus stopping is from hunting it down and Mother looks at her and turns her head to the side and the Pegasus says something which puts Mother at ease and when I move up and loom at her she licks my neck to tell me it is safe so I lick her back as a show of affection and the Pegasus watches this and squees I walk up to her and lick her muzzle to show her some affection like she deserves as she is the newest member of the pack and Mother quickly makes me get back in position and we continue to follow the Pegasus.

We continued walking until we approached a small building it was like our den but not hidden and there was a nice little stream with some rock going over it I smelled a lot of new scents from birds and fish to bears and more scents like the Pegasus who I might as well give her a name if she is like a member of the pack, after a little thinking I decided I will call her Butterfly.

She looked at Mother and proceeded to ask her something in that language, we will have to get her to speak like us if she is a member of the pack. After the small talk between Butterfly and Mother she points to her house and leads behind it towards a hollowed out tree and she points at that and then at us as if to tell us that is ours.

It clicked that she was moving our pack towards this cottage so she can remain near us a lot more which is good as a pack has to stick together.

Our life continued like this for a while and was very repetitive apart from Butterfly having to leave and never joining us on hunts she must be hunting elsewhere as to allow us to get more from our hunts which is kind of her.

By the time I was 6 I was really growing up and Butterfly was out one day and me and my pack had just come back from a hunt to the sound to the creatures and Serenity immediately rushes to play with the small animals who seem to like her as they had stopped running away and let her chase them except for this little white bunny who was not very ice to Serenity as he would always kick her in the snout when she would get one of the squirrels or other rabbits and this would cause Darkness to come up and growl at him and he would sprint away back into the little house and after the rabbit had left Serenity would lick Darkness's muzzle and playfully nibble on his ear, this was because they had become mates and seemed to be getting closer and closer together and I was hopeful that they would have pups because I would love to have new members in the pack.

It is official Darkness and Serenity are mates and Serenity must be carrying a litter in her so I hope this goes all right but because of this Darkness seemed to take over as the alpha male of the pack as only the alpha male is allowed to breed with the other females in the pack, after they officially became mates Darkness would only ever spend time with Serenity and he became really protective of Serenity just like Mother was when we were all pups but he would allow us to see our packmate but he would stand up behind her while we were there just in case we decided to do something which we wouldn't do because packs run on loyalty and if a wolf betrays the trust that is between they are exiled and if they are found on their previous pack's territory they are deemed an enemy.

One month had passed since Darkness and Serenity mated and we had started to notice the bulge on Serenity's belly and one day Butterfly had come to check on us as she hadn't seen Serenity in a while and with me and Darkness we walked into the den and found Serenity with her large belly which must have been holding at least 5 pups which would make our pack a big and busy pack. Butterfly looked at her belly and gasped she then looked at Serenity and then at Darkness and be nodded to her and she placed her ear on the belly and she gasped and I saw her start to tear up so Serenity licked her tears away and she proceeded to nuzzle Serenity until she heard a loud k coming on her door so she quickly ran to see who it was and I followed as I was curious what would make a loud noise that would have needed to be addressed immediately.

Fluttershy's POV
I had come to see why Serenity had not been seen for a month and I saw the colt and the darkest of the wolves who had started to pace outside of the tree I had moved them into nearby my house, I looked at the wolf and then to the tree to ask him if Serenity was I it and we all walked into the Den and there I saw her.

She was laying on her side with her belly hanging very low and looked at the black wolf and he looked proud but also very, very protective so I looked at hi and then to the female and he nodded so I put my ear up to me belly and I heard very faint heartbeats and my heart grew 3 sizes that day as she was with pups and I will be hear to see her grow up and have her pups like a member of the pack and I released that is what the rest of the wolves saw me as a member of their tight knit pack, this thought brought a tear to my eye which the female was quick to lick away so i replied in a way I knew the wolves would understand so I nuzzled her congratulations and while I was doing this I heard a knock at my door and because these were still meant to be kept a secret I quickly ran out to answer it.

I quickly got to the door and composed myself and it just turned out to be Rainbow Dash. "Hey flutters where have you been, you have been spending a lot more time around your house then usual, and when you do you smell like meat and dogs did you get some new animals or something?" She asked with some confusion as she judged me trying to get out the answer before I even answered.

"Uh" I stammer not knowing what to answer back as she continues to stare at me and I quickly think of something "Yeah new Wol- I mean dogs yeah new delivered from Manehattan need training you know little puppies wanting to play and give kisses" I say hoping that she would fall for that. "Really" all of a sudden I hear a crash and a black speck run away and I hear another crash this one bigger and louder then the last a few seconds passed and I start to hear whimper and this kicks in the carer in me and I run and notice it is the batpony he must have followed but know he has ran into a bookshelf .

He didn't seem too bad but there was some blood on his front left hoof as he was licking at it to try and clean it up over my shoulder I hear rainbow dash in the other room call to me "hey fluttershy is everything alright was that just Angel being angel" a hear a clip clopping of hooves and she walks in next to me and her eyes narrow as she notices the batpony behind me half under a bookcase whimpering like a dog. "Fluttershy why is there one of those freaks in your house because if he has hurt you I swear to celestia" I quickly cut her off and stand in her path "he is not a freak he is only a child and right now he is in pain" I quickly turn around and try to lift the bookcase of off him "Yeah he might be a colt but him and his whole race are just a big batch of mistakes that Luna couldn't fix" Rainbow quickly spat out as looked like she was going to trample the poor colt.

After she said that I felt my blood boil and a lifted the bookcase of off him and went right up into rainbow dash's face "how dare you, he is a child who is not much different from you he is properly more life, then you would ever be because he doesn't judge ponies based on their appearance you racist" I spat as I almost went into stare mode I continued "I thought I would've been able to trust you with finding out about him but no you are just like the other ponies and you are just like the ponies who abandoned him."

Rainbow sat back in shock and tried to talk but nothing came up I just started to walk back to the colt under the bookcase and I eventually lift it off of him and I quickly pick him up and nuzzle him and he licks my muzzle and I take a look at his front hoof and see that it is sprained but one of his back hooves is cracked and needs medical attention which I can luckily provide, I look at rainbow dash and I quickly shake her back to reality "rainbow dash if you want to make it up to me listen to me now, he has cracked a hoof but I can heal it but I need you to grab something from my bedroom" I say putting on my animal carer mode. "O-o-oh yeah what do you need" she replies shaking her self back to normal "the bandages and medical hoof cream in the top draw of my bedside table quickly" as she flies of I go back to stroking the head of the colt and he starts to calm down and relax and the realisation hits me that I haven't given him a name, I mentally face hoof and think of what would suit him as I look at him "I know lets call you Howling Moon that is a fitting name for a batpony of your upbringing." Rainbow dash quickly comes back with what j asked as I sat there with Howling Moon calming him down as i could tell as he was panting just like a wolf but he would help when anything touched his hoof and rainbow quickly gives me the stuff and flies out quickly. As I try to apply the cream to his hoof he helps and starts to growl at me but I quickly nuzzle him and check if rainbow is around and I lick his muzzle like he does to the other members of his pack.

Howling Moon's POV
I followed Butterfly to the entrance of her den and I noticed it was another female by the noises it was making, I get curious and try to approach silently but I knock something over and hear a smash the new voice starts flying towards me and I run, I run as fast as my paws will carry me and I slip on the floor and crash into a tall thing made of wood and it slowly starts to fall and I manage to get my top half and it lands on my hind paws and it traps me, the new voice catches up to me and started to get into an aggressive posture which makes my ears go back as I am not in a position to answer her challenge, Butterfly get a in between us and she starts to lift up the thing that is on top of me and the other Pegasus stops her and Butterfly gets angry and she gets this thing off of me and send the other one upstairs and she starts to cuddle me which makes me feel safe as I lick the wound on my forepaw i keep feeling a pain in one of my hindpaws and I help and Butterfly notices and begins to stoke my head and this makes me pant in happiness but the pain in my hindpaw keeps making me whimper in pain. The other Pegasus gives Butterfly somethings and flies off and Butterfly tries to apply a cream which makes my hind paws sting so I bare my fangs at her and she quickly licks my muzzle which means that she is sorry but it will help me so I let her do it with only minor growling, she proceeds to rub this cream all over and then wraps it up in some sort of cover and let's me up but i am careful not to step on my hindpaw. I thank her by licking her muzzle and she squees and nuzzles me back. She is an amazing new member to our pack.
