for those who don't want to look for them, i'll do that every now and then, if i think about it.

The Duel in ponyville.

It was a beautiful day in the plain surrounding ponyville, the sky was clear, the daughtresses were patrolling and the whole city had gathered in front of the government diffusion screen to observe the two newest model of MS pounding at each other in the name of their developers. While the appearance of the princess and the elements on the screens had drawn a lot of attention, mine was another level, while a good deal of equestrian -mostly the hangar employees- had seen me at least once, most equestrian only heard of the black giant with venomous green eye from outer space.

I stood with confidence and regal zeal beside the wing gundam, rainbow was inside and making the final check. In front of us was the daughtress neo, it was looking the same but a quick furtive scan had revealed a few gimmick in it, most were actually very smart but old, some hidden blade in the limbs, a flashlight on the head and off course the thing they intended to cheat with, a small one time use beam saber, it was running on magic so useless against equestrian enemies and so purely made to win this one and only duel.

'are they seriously willing to risk the life of an element to prove a point? I thought the elements were pretty damn important for equestria?'

-they are, the best explanation is that they don't think they'll need it but still kept it as last resort.

'last resort my ass, it won't do anything to the wing, this gundam could fight with a 50% compromised frame, it can fight with two leg an arm and the head destroyed for pits sake!'

"Is their a problem ksha?"rainbow had noticed my silence. I turned to her her and sighted. I connected to her radio so no one could heard us.

"Nothing much, they have a forbidden weapon but it was expected so nothing surprising, just a bit disappointed they'd actually do it, now they are cliche villain in all right."

"We'll just have to make up for it by being awesomely original! No biggie."

"Mmm...the cliche thing would be to stomp them while taunting them, why not go for silent and efficient, with a overwhelming finishing move?"

She laughed, "alright the last one you already gave me and it will be so awesome, but the two other...I'm not really known to be the silent kind, and I want the public to enjoy the show."

"An efficient warrior in battle is a sight to behold and by saying little each word you pronounce become valuable."

"Fine fine jeez, no need to be all master hoofway on me. I'll try but no promise, and before the end I'll have taken this baby for a fly."

'wait hoofway? Does she mean oogway? This look alike historical or mythical figures or places are more and more random, I mean learning of a town named canterlot was bad enough but people too?'

I shook my head,"sure knock yourself out if you want but an advice, shut down the outside speaker when you do."

She turned at me and I could see her raise an eyebrow through the camera inside her cockpit.

I looked at celestia and luna walking up the stage, it was actually made specially for today and stood higher than the MS even mine,

'or should i say my body? My body is a MS that i control through the computer in my chest so does it make it my MS?'

-in the past was your brain the only part considered as kshatriya?

'of course not.'

-then this body as a whole is kshatriya, not only the computer inside the chest where your mind reside.

I mulled over hacks way of thought,

'fair enough, it make sense to me.' i said finally before refocusing on celestia and luna.

Luna started the speech,"fair citizens, today we have reunited to observe a revolution into the military forces of equestria."

Celestia continued, "a friendly duel will be held between two new model, each representing a conceptor and a new path and way for us to fight. Depending of the winner the way our country will act and dispense its resources differently."

"Indeed, for security reason only the conceptor they represent will be made public while the change in military comportement are classified." luna finished.

After the princesses speech, it was a white skinned woman with blue hair and some cool shade that barged into the arena at the command of a brightly neon blue painted Torohachi.

"Alright everyone, your favorite DJ is here to explain the rules, give the name of the mad scientist who developed those sweet killing machine and to declare the start of the carnage! But first, the anthem, hit it derpy!"(music name is land of equestria.)

I heard rainbow snickers,"this vinyl, always the same crazy girls even after everything that happened."

"What happened?"

"She lost someone, her sister gleaming shield was in the guard when the war started, it's called the day of cruelty by most now, the others country fell on us so suddenly, no warning or anything, they started killing equestrians on sight all those who were out of equestria were slaughtered in a week and we back home were not spared, ponyville was hit just the same but we fended off the assault at a steep prices, big mac, bonbon, even this crazy spoiled milk and her husband rich made the ultimate sacrifice to protect us. Some only lost an arm, other more. Vinyl's girlfriend was hurt a bit but she was lucky and made it out with a lost leg, she discovered her sister death when the princesses and what was left of canterlot arrived to find shelter with us, it was sad how little of canterlot population was left."

"Who attacked canterlot?"

Her face turned sour,"changeling, they attacked a few years back during twilight's brother wedding but failed. They tried again with a more lethal approach and it did the trick, now they own the city."

I frowned internally,"when i was in space i noticed aries there, does it mean the griffon are allied with the changeling?"

She shook her head,"no, changling MS never appeared on the field, only princess Celestia even saw one and it was century back. They usually steal other races units and do...something to them, there specs increase like crazy but they are...off. They almost look afraid to get hurt."

'interesting...'

""Glory and honour, the Land of Equestria!""

'shit missed the anthem!'

-i recorded it kshatriya, you may listen to it at any time.

'*phew* thanks hacks, an anthem can tell a lot about a country and i need any cultural input i can get if i want to work with equestria.'

"Now partygoers, the rule are simple, no blows at the cockpit for obvious reason, all weapon allowed but please take the surrounding into account since the princess shield as limits, if the MS are flight capable sorry but not allowed above arm reach this thing as to end at some point."

"Oh come on!" dash screamed.

"Well so much for poking fun at her today..."

"The victory condition are surrender of the opponent, loss of consequential mobility, or complete shutdown of the MS. Got it pilots?"

"Got it one hundred percent vinyl!" dash was a lot more determined now, seemed she was eager to end this and take the wing for a flight.

"Understood, ready to pummel the rooky to the ground."

"This voice, Wind Rider?!"

I connected into the private line,"someone important?"

She narrowed her eyes, "you kidding! He was one of the best wonderbolt, he retired before the war and refused the recall order of the princesses, he is the reason i don't tolerate overconfidence and bragging on the field, after the battle and before you gloat all you want but on the field you shut up and put your best game to stay and keep others alive! This bastard, he just leech off its fame and past glory."

"Now that i can agree with you, why did he refuse the recall?"

She huffed, "fear, but mostly he is a lazy cunt, he don't even want to train the new recruit."

I nodded, and focused on vinyl again, "this duel will be between the MS daughtress neo developed by golden age the leader of the MS development team, and the MS/gundam wing developed by equestria newest alien ally from beyond space kshatriya."

Dash and ryder advanced into the field while me and golden age were led to the stage and stood near the princesses.

Luna grinned at me, "so, how fast will she win?"

Celestia rolled her eyes with a smile, "sister, please at least wait for the battle to start, you never know how thing could turn out." she clearly didn't believe into the neo but was trying to stay polite as she drank some tea.

Golden age was no fool and picked on it but glazed over it, "the daughtress neo is by far the best MS developed, he is the culmination of our ancestor accomplishment but modernized and upgraded, he will not be undone by some upstart unit made by a pseudo AI claiming sentience."

My eye twitched, "i am not an AI miss golden, i am a living breathing being whose mind was downloaded into a more useful body, and i am sentient, which is how i can tell with a hundred percent certainty that in the social world you are to be referred as a cunt."

Luna erupted in laughter while celestia spited her tea and choked a bit, golden age was just frozen in place, she slowly turned to me with a rage beyond mortal comprehension.

"How dare you! You freak of a commoner!"

"Your a cunt, just like that, see? Easy."

Luna was barely breathing and celestia decided to cut in. "kshatriya! Do not antagonize lady golden age! And lady golden age, do not use commoner as an insult, all in equestria be them noble or not have the same right, only their responsibility differ."

Me and golden age kept glaring at each other until celestia foot slammed onto the ground and a horn and wings popped on her, "is it clear,?!"

golden age snorted, "verily princess."she bowed and turned to the contestant who had stopped and looked at us in worry.

i shrugged and turned to the duel, "sure, the duel will speak for us anyway."

luna took in a deep breath, "*sigh* indeed, for having tried my modified bertigo, i smell the sweet scent of victory sister, you do remember our bet do you?"

this seemed to calm celestia and actually make her step back a bit, "o-of course i do! how could i forget with you reminding me every day..."

dahs butted in a bit hesitant, "sooo do we start or what?"

rider joined in, "indeed, i have a bottle of wine with my name on it inside my lounge."

i rolled my eyes as vinyl torohachi stepped between them with arms raised, "alright, ready set go!"

i connected to rainbow dash radio, my voice was commanding and overbearing,"crush.him..."

she nodded and dashed forward, the neo unsheathed two blade from its arms and stabbed in a quick one two, dash crouched under it and slammed her shield into its side her thruster helping her movement and sending the neo flying in a screech of metal. to be fair the neo landed on its feet and took stance as dash rapidly closed on him, he throw his arms up and the blades came flying toward the wing, dash simply raised her shield and blocked them, the neo took the opportunity to jump at her and actually double air kick on her shield, that's where the gundam true power showed, the neo had tried to throw dash down using this blow but instead, the wing zero held, the neo was literally standing on the shield as the wing zero legs and arms pistons pushed him back where he came, the neo crashed on its back drawing a groan from ryder.

"h-how?!"

"the gundam wing is stronger than he look, stronger than you can imagine that's how! but allow me a demonstration!" dash grineed.

the wing thruster powered and gundam jumped before diving at the neo, intent to stab it with its shield, the neo rolled to dodge and the gundam landed heavily it's shield buried two third in the ground, the neo grabbed two blade from behind him and and rushed at what he thought was a incapacitated dash, she simply pulled the control stick and the shield was extracted from the ground into a burst of dirt and dust, she blocked the right slash of the neo with her shield and stopped its left stab by grabbing the left hand of the neo, the neo pushed with all its might but the wing didn't budge.

"h-how strong can this thing be?!" ryder clearly was being serious, in all fairness he wasn't a bad pilot but seemed to expect thing to be easy all the time.

-theory, he probably relied purely on its talent and never needed to put in effort to succeed.

'the curse of the genius...'

dash grinned even bigger, almost matching the smile made by pinkie when we met for the first time, "i think i showed off for long enough, time to wrap up."

the wing crushed the neo left hand before kicking its right legs and bending it backward, she pushed its right hand aside while also throwing the shield, she hugged the neo, its cockpit just in front of the gundam face, and started to slowly crush it, ryder tried to reach the plasma blade but it was inside its left legs and the neo lacked said left hand. the sound of metal bending and rupturing pipe was a sweet musing resonating with the teeth of golden age grinding, soon the neo was thin enough for the wing to hug him with one arm, dash right arm was raised and she started to push the chest of the neo backward, effectively forcing it to fold in two, the sight of the wing gundam bending the neo like a napkin was just too much for the equestrian who simply gawked, even dash was just going through the motion with wide eye and a mad smile.

finally, she throwed the folded MS aside, she turned to me and made a double fist pump. "that was awesome!!!"

the whole place erupted into cheer, it seem equestrians were able to recognize when revolution was coming.

"soooo, did i win or did i win?" i asked the princesses and golden age, the latter simply leaving with a angry snarl, the princesses looked at me with wonder, celestia smiled,"you will have the crowns full support, we will build your elites forces, "her smile wasn't the motherly smile she wear all the time, it was the smile of a centuries old cunning ruler who saw an opportunity, it was the smile of a starved beast who found a prey, the prey being all the countries who had become fat from feasting on equestria.

"get ready enemy of equestria, the princesses are releasing the hounds of war..."I said in a joking tone.

luna grinned and whispered to me, "you may be closer to reality than you know, in twelve years, we had the time to train the elements, they were already outstanding individuals but now? they are an elites unit and at the command of the gundam they will be the ones to accomplish mission 'new rise' next week, with your help."

surprise must have flashed even on my static face because celestia looked straight at the wing gundam and rainbow who was talking to the 6 others of the special groups, "at ease kshatriya, we will discute the mission in more detail tomorrow, in the meantime." she turned to the direction golden age had left toward, "i have a weaklink to deal with, as i said 'the thing nobles have over the commoners is responsibilities' and one such noble seem to have lost its use for our country, time for her to retire and open the place to a more efficient element."

i audibly gulped.

luna just smiled, "don't worry kshatriya, my sister has played this game for a long time, and while the nobles do get a few hit on her from time to time she know how to keep them in check, she has ruled this country alone for a thousand years after all, she know how to make them dance." she shrugged and shook her head, "and while sister and i like all our citizens we are at war and cannot afford the courtesy of letting golden age her position until she retire of old age, if she cannot produce the MS we need for the war she has to step down for a more competent person to do so, she may not like it or even understand it but as i said, we are at war we can't afford the courtesy."

i nodded, "i agree but do you have someone in mind?"

celestia nodded, "we do, she has served for a long time into the construction and defense department and while she lack confidence she has idea and talent. i hope you are willing to help her in her project, your kind have years of advance on us in technology development and while i wont ask you to share them maybe you can guide her in the right direction?"

i made thumbs up, "sure, i'll teach her the basic and even help her brainstorm her idea, if she got the will to learn i'll provide the teaching."

while the princess smiled thankful i was doing an internal happy dance.

'follow mecha nerd ahah! follow mecha nerd ahah! how i missed the talk i had on the net about gundam tech and designs! and now it will all be real!'

i spent the evening preparing an data file with technologies on flashcards for my meeting with the future head of the development team.
