Chapters "Thats the second large sigh you've let out today, Twi and you only started 20 minutes ago," Timber spoke as he sprayed some cleaning product on the marble counter top and started wiping it down.
Twilight glanced over at him while she leant on her hand, slouching behind the counter.
"I hate people,"
"No? Really? I never would have guessed," Timber responded sarcastically, shooting a large smile in Twilight's direction, who in return shot him a very bored look.
"Die."
"Would if I could, be better than working here,"
"Then you understand my large sighs," Twilight grumbled. Her eyes wanered round the room and they just narrowed a little over time. It was dead today and the two tables that had people that she served were a hassle.
The first one consisted of a middle aged woman with her 3 kids who decided something was wrong almost as soon as she sat down and even after Twilight tried to give her an answer to her complaint, she demanded to speak to a manager who, suprise suprise, told her the exact same thing Twilight told her. Twilight has avoided that table ever since and made Timber deal with it.
The second table was a group of, very obvious, fuck boys who, judging by their varsity jackets, went to the same university that she studyed at. As soon as she even stepped within the the radius of the table, they immediately set off about how they would show her a 'good time' or 'rock her world'. She didn't even say anything, it was like they had a radar. She didn't even bother taking their order and gave it to Flash, who was currently out back taking his break. He was very chilled out about it which Twilight was thankful for.
Twilight kept minding her own business until she felt a tap on her shoulder, turning her head to see Timber giving her a weird look. Oh she knew exactly where this was going.
"So-" Timber started but Twilight raised her hand in front of him and shook her head.
"We are not having this conversation, Timber. Not again. I've made my feeling's clear about us," Twilight motioned between herself and Timber "I've also said I'm happy to remain friends, which you agreed to by the way, but you're making it so awkward and difficult to do that when you constantly bring the break up, up,"
Timber opened his mouth to say something but closed it as he saw Twilight was not done.
"I want this friendship to work, Timber, I really really do. But I'm just..so tired of you trying to make it 'work' again, so just stop making this weird," Twilight spoke before pausing and adding on "-more weird. Please just stop trying, I'm begging you, you're making my job even more tedious by still trying this,"
Timber didn't speak for a moment, only to nod and smile softly.
"I understand, Twi, I'm sorry,"
Twilight just smiled in response and turned her head when she heard shuffling behind her, Flash coming out from the back.
"He tried again?"
"Hey!" Timber protested.
"Uh huh,"
"Timber, dude, really?"
"I thought I'd give it a whirl!"
"A whirl?" Flash laughed
"This is abuse in the workplace," Timber grumbled but couldn't stop the smile rising. There was a moment of silence before they all shared a laugh.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
It was an hour before closing time and Twilight couldn't be happier, constantly checking the clock as if that would make it go faster. Timber and Flash stood next to her, Timber wiping down the counter so they all weren't caught off by the manager saying 'this isn't clean' at closing time and Flash was cashing up the till.
Twilight kept to herself and doodled on a piece of paper in her notebook that she used to take orders, humming as she did so. She heard the bell of the door go off but ignored it as she usually waited a couple of minutes so that whoever came in had time to sit down and actually take a look at the menu.
"Holy shit..." Timber spoke in awe which got Twilight's attention, looking up at Timber with a raised eyebrow and saw both himself and Flash gawking, she went as far as thinking their jaws had, physically, dropped. Twilight ended up more confused than before and looked in the direction of the boys and thats when it all made sense as her jaw, had also, dropped to the floor.
All three of them were burning their eyes into what could only be described as some kind of biker godess. Her hair was red with yellow strips (or yellow with red strips, Twilight didn't really care at this point), she wore a black leather jacket with a dark red tank top underneath, black ripped jeans and knee high boots. She still hadn't seen them staring as she was staring down at her phone, sliding into a booth and smirking at her phone, holy fuck that smirk.
"Fucking hell, I'm so gay right now," Twilight said without hesitation.
"I'd say same but that doesn't really work, so, fucking hell, I'm so straight right now," Flash responded, only taking her eyes off the girl to blink, although that didn't really count.
"So.." Timber started, getting the attention of the other two "who gets to talk to her first?"
"Not Twilight," Flash chimned in.
"Um? Excuse me, what? Why not?" Twilight asked in shock and annoyance, crossing her arms over her chest. Flash shot her a bored look.
"Cause you've unloaded the only two tables you had today onto Timber and I, even when you could of easily found a way around the problems,"
"You said you didn't mind!"
"I didn't, but now I have an excuse to talk to this hot chick first because of it," Flash smirked which Twilight responded to with a low snarl. Timber cleared his throat and tapped on Flash's shoulder, Flash turning around with a raised eyebrow.
"You'll go second, I saw her first so I get to go first,"
"Oh what planet did you see her first?"
"On this planet, now move aside," Timber said, pushing past Flash before he could argue.
"Wow..he got over you quickly huh, Twilight?" Flash joked.
"Hah, funny. I'm gonna laugh in both of your faces til the day you die if she ends up gay," Twilight hissed, Flash inhaling sharply.
Timber breathed in and let out a deep breath, waltzing up to the table with a smug smile on his face. He assured himself it showed 'confidence'
"Hey there,"
The girl looked up slowly, Timber taking note of her beautiful cyan eyes that he hadn't noticed before. She stared for what seemed like forever in Timber's world and he felt himself start to sweat slightly. She looked him up and down before chuckling lightly.
"It's not working," She finally spoke, her voice deep and raspy by womens standards and Timber honestly thought it was the hottest thing ever but the statment she issued confused him.
"Excuse me?"
"This confidence act you got going on? It's not working but you did it for a reason so what is it?" She asked, leaning forward slightly while her eyes narrowed.
Timber's mouth kept opening and closing, only short spurts of utter noncence left past his lips. The girl sighed in annoyance, leaning back in her seat.
"You wanted my number, is that it?" She asked and Timber, who now stood in fear nodded ever so slightly which was earnt with a pissed look by the girl.
"You actually thought you'd have a chance at that? No offence, but I'd rather shove a cactus up there than your dick. Nice try," She waved her hand in a shooing motion to get him to go away, which he did quickly.
Timber came back round the counter and didn't say a word or even look the two in the eye. Flash gulped but shook it off quickly and smirked.
"Well good try, buddy," Flash said, slapping Timber on the shoulder before making his way from behind the counter "But its clear that you're not her type so let the master handle this!"
Flash rolled his shoulders back and struted up to the table, slicking his hair back.
"Hey there, gorgeo-"
"-don't you dare finish that sentence unless you want gender reassignment surgery right here in the middle of this diner," The girl spat at Flash, who had since tensed up and forgotton how to breathe.
"Not one of you two boys has even bothered to take my order, you have come over with completely different motives than what I want to eat or drink but god forbid I do that in a fucking diner!" She shouted, slamming her hands on the table.
"Now do me a favor and fuck off! But tell that purple haired girl to come over, I want to have a word with her,"
"E-excuse me?" Flash stuttered.
"You heard me!" The girl yelled, causing Flash to scury off. She let out a heavy sigh and slumped back in her chair.
"She...she was to speak to you, Twilight," Flash spoke, his voice weary and shakey, like he'd seen a ghost or something. Twilight could feel herself sweating bullets but she slowly made her way from behind the counter as Flash moved back in. Every step Twilight took towards this girl felt like the ground was going to swallow her up. By the time she had made it to the table she felt her whole body shaking as the girl looked up at her, her cheeks red due to her yelling.
"P-please don't yell at me...a-anything you want to o-order I'll get you!" Twilight stumbled over her words, shuting her eyes closed tight and waiting for the verbal abuse. When it never came, she became less scared and more confused. She opened her eyes to see the girl smiling warmly at her which caused even more confusion and her mouth became an o shape.
"I'm not gonna yell at you,"
Twilight had to wait for her brain to buffer before she could respond.
"I'm...so lost right now," Twilight managed out.
"I was nasty to those two because right from the get go I could see they had an ulterior motive, they were dumb enough to not hide the notion either. It happens with both boys and girls, I assure you its not a gender thing," The girl explained, smiling apologeticly " I apologise if I came across rude or unfair,"
"Oh...n-no not at all," Twilight lied slightly but laughed awkwardly. The girl sighed.
"I really am sorry, I just wanted something to drink and you actually bothered to hide your flirty notions well enough,"
Twilight stood to attention, as if she was in the army, and looked anywhere else but at the beauty sat in front of her.
"I..I didn't mean to come across that way..."
"Honestly? For you, I don't mind and well, you did ask for my order, unlike dumb and dumber over there," She flirted, leaning on her hand and smirking slightly at how she caused Twilight to go red.
"Let me introduce myself to make this a little less awkward. My name is Sunset Shimmer. And you are?"
Twilight took a deep breath and paused before smiling widley at the girl.
"My name is Twilight Sparkle. And I shall be your server today,"
"Is that how you greet all people you wanna flirt with?"
"No. Just you," Twilight flirted with a slight smirk, feeling more confident.
"Awh. I feel so special," Sunset flirted back, biting her lip. Twilight could feel a blush rising again as she glanced at the girls lips so she quickly thought of something to say.
"S-So what would you like today, Miss Shimmer?"
Sunset let out a laugh and Twilight, had then, decided that it was now one of her favourite sounds of all time.
"Miss Shimmer huh? There will be none of that, just Sunset is fine," Sunset responed with a smile.
"Gotcha," Twilight started, having to physically restrain herself from doing finger guns "So, Sunset, what would you like?"
"Just a Strawberry milkshake, thank you," Sunset spoke before Twilight nodded and wrote down order on her note pad. She didn't have to as it was just a milkshake but she was doing everything she could to stay around Sunset longer.
"I'll be right back with that," Twilight smiled, walking off. She didn't noticed Sunset staring as she did so, a grin spread acorss her lips as she did.
Twilight held the order out towards Flash, who just stared at her with slack jaw.
"How did you...when did you...I don't..."
"Go make the milkshake, Flash and then maybe during that time you'll find the ends to those sentences!" Twilight smiled sarcasticlly.
Flash took the piece of paper and looked at her with worry.
"I'm never going to hear the end of this, am I?"
"Not on your life,"
Flash groaned, glancing over at Timber, who just shrugged in responce.
"Don't look at me, I doubt I'm in the clear either," Timber spoke
"You really aren't!" Twilight called from the back before staring up the blender for the milkshake. She decided to do it herself instead of making Flash do it. Once done, she poured it into a large glass, placed a strawberry ontop and placed the straw inside. She took a deep breath and picked up the glass, carrying out front and towards Sunset.
Sunset looked up from her phone and smiled.
"That looks amazing,"
"Then I hope it tastes as good as it looks," Twilight winked as she placed the glass on the table and, she swore to god, she saw Sunset go red ever so slightly. Sunset sipped the milkshake and bit her lip.
"Its good. Very good, sweet," Sunset started before looking up with a mischievous grin "Nearly as sweet as you,"
"That's all you got? That was corny as hell," Twilight giggled and Sunset let out a short laugh, rubbing the back of her neck.
"Heh. I guess it was. But hey, it got you to laugh, so I'm giving myself brownie points for that one!" Sunser resorted, smiling widely. Twilight only nodded and smiled back.
"A feat most impressive," Twilight said.
Sunset kept drinking her milkshake before taking a pen and grabbing the napkin next to her, Twilight watching on in confusion until the napkin was handed to her. Twilight took it and opened it slowly, her eyes widening when she realised it was Sunset's number. Twilight was about to say something but was intruppted by Sunset standing up and fishing through her wallet for the money to pay.
Twilight shook her head and held up her hand to stop her.
"It's on the house,"
Sunset look on in shock.
"Are you sure? I wouldn't want you to get in trouble,"
"I won't don't worry, the manager happens to love me,"
"That's handy. Well I guess that means I owe you now," Sunset spoke lowly, looking down at Twilight with a breathtaking smile, at least according to Twilight's point of view.
"I guess it does. I'll text you and we can, maybe, arrange something?" Twilight responded a little too breathlessly, biting her lip as she looked up into Sunset's deep cyan eyes. Sunset nodded.
"Sounds like a plan. Thanks, Twilight Sparkle, this has been fun," Sunset blew her a kiss before walking away, her ass swaying as she did so.
Twilight stood as if she was froze in time before finally, she let out a huge breath she didn't realise she was holding.
"Holy fuck,"
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Twilight slipped on her jacket as she punched in her clock in number in the machine to clock out. She threw her bag over her shoulder and took her phone out of her pocket before walking out front.
"See you guys later!" Twilight waved although not looking up from her phone, walking out the door before she could see or hear the responce. She had saved Sunset's number as soon as she got it ealier but hadn't had a chance to text the girl as she was busy closing the resturant with Flash and Timber.
'Hey, its Twilight,' She texted and was about to put her phone away only to have her phone go off. She assumed it was someone else but to her suprise, it was Sunset. She opened the text to see that Sunset had sent a gif of Obi Wan Kenobi going 'hello there'
"Is she a nerd too? " Twilight thought, deciding to send back the only responce to that gif she deemed acceptable. General Grievous going 'General Kenobi'.
Twilight saw that Sunset had seen it and saw the three dots to show she was responding.
'You got my reference? You're a keeper,' Sunset responded and Twilight couldn't help the large smile that began curling onto her lips.
'Who doesn't get that reference? Its one of the most iconic moments in the film franchise. Not to mention a massive meme,'
'Excatly! I'm shocked and dissapointed by the amount of people who don't get it'
'So,Miss Shimmer, may I ask. Do you have a job of your own?'
'I do'
Twilight waited for her to eleborate for her to not do so.
'...what kind of job?'
'Ah see now, if I told you that I'd have to kill you'
When she didn't respond for a moment after that Twilight genuinly began to worry.
'I'm joking of course, I work at a bike shop'
Twilight breathed a sigh of relief. She should of kind of guessed that Sunset did something to do with motorcyles due to how she was dressed.
'That sounds awesome! Do you fix them or sell them or modify them?'
'Yes' Sunset responded bluntly causing Twilight to chuckle, looking up momentarily to see she had arrived at her dorm building door. She pulled her keycard out of her bag and scanned it, the door opening automatically. Twilight walked up to the third floor and down to her room, 11.
Throwing her bag on her bed, she finally responded to Sunet.
'Is it full time?'
Twilight did wonder if she was out of uni or didn't even go as she did look a little older than herself.
'No part time while I study Engineering at University,'
'Oh you are at Uni? What one?'
'Canterlot University'
Twilight froze there and then, her jaw dropping. She stayed like that for a few moments before regaining the composure to respond.
'No way do we go to the same uni,'
'You go CU too?! That's insane!' Sunset text back with a shocked face emoji
'Right? How have we never see each other around? I take Physics and the science building is right next to the Engineering building'
'It's really weird, yeah. I definitely would of remebered you if I did see you,' Sunset put a winking emoji at the end of her message and Twilight rolled her eyes.
'Oo such a tease. Be careful or, at this rate, that dinner will happen sooner than you'd like'
Twilight sent the message but almsot instantly regreted it out of fear that Sunset would be digusted by the idea of this, potential, date. She looked back down at her phone to see Sunset had replyed.
'It's cute that you think of that as a threat. The sooner the better <3'
Twilight felt her heart quicken and she became giddy.
'I'll hold you to that,'
'I'd be upset if you didn't'
Twilight decided to change the topic before she said something stupid about the entire situation.
'So what are you up to right now?'
'Well before we started talking, I was playing guitar, as for now, I'm just listening to music,'
Twilight frowned slightly at the first part of that text.
'Oh, I'm sorry, did I intruppt you? Would you like me to leave you be so you can get back to it?'
Sunset reread her messaged and slapped her forehead as she noticed how the message came across.
'No, no, god no! I'm sorry it seemed like like I was having a go, I assure you I wasn't. I was just trying to learn the chords for a new song I created and I'm planning to play it with the band I'm in, The Rainbooms, on Friday. I had been playing for a while so I was happy for the break and I get to talk to beautiful girl too so I see it was a win win'
Twilight went red ever so slightly as the compliment but decided to focus more on the band aspect of the conversion.
"Of course she'd be in a band. Smart, drop dead gorgeous, talented, seems kind and caring too. Just the full package, " Twilight thought, sighing in a dreamy manner.
'You're in a band? Thats pretty cool'
'Yeah, the way to a ladies heart according to every cheesy romatic comedy ever'
Twilight giggled at the quip before reading the second message.
'For real though, you should come watch us play. Can use that as an excuse to take you out afterwards too,'
'Why? Are you guys that bad that you're gonna have to make it up to me somehow?'
'Oh 100%. We are the absolute worse. Truly dreadful'
Twilight sent some laughing emojis before responding.
'Funny, but I'd love to come along. Where abouts?'
'The Amphitheater on 3rd. You familar with the place?'
'Yeah been a couple of times, big venue. What kind of music do you guys play?'
'We are pop-punk and rock,'
'So..like PVRIS and Our Last Night?'
Sunset nearly dropped her phone when she saw that message, in complete shock that Twilight knew two of her favourite pop punk bands.
'Yes, excatly like PVRIS and Our Last Night! I'm suprised you know them,'
'I'm a pop punk fan myself, although I may not look it,'
'I'm actually more into metal myself but pop punk and rock are my tied second favourite genre and it seemed like more of a fitting genre for everyone else in the band than heavy metal,'
'This is true. Not many people appeciate the metal genre. I do love Parkway Drive and Architchs however,' Twilight typed back. She wait for a moment before looking back at her phone and her face almost flushing red at the message.
'Oh my god, marry me please,' Sunset's responce read, a little heart emoji at the end of the message.
'Well we'll see how this dinner after your 'absolute worse' band preformance goes,'
'Oh, I do like my odds,' Sunset messaged back. The entire converstion she had a stupid grin on her face, her face flushing sometimes.
"Who the hell are you talking to make you smile like that?" A voice spoke. Sunset glanced over to where the voice came from and saw her roomate, Rainbow Dash, staring at her with slightly wide eyes and raised eyebrows. Sunset's stare lingered for a moment before she turned her attention back to her phone.
"You know the girl I told you about who worked at the local diner?"
"Briefly,"
"Her,"
"So if this gonna be a fuck and chuck situation then?" Rainbow asked bluntly. Sunset stopped for a moment before her face screwed up and she sighed.
"It's nice that my ex likes to spread such positive things about me," Sunset groaned, throwing her legs over the side of her bed. She put her head in her hands and dragged them down, pulling her skin along with it.
"She was a real witch, that one,"
"You're telling me. I dated her," Sunset mumbled "Ah sorry, 'dated' as according to her I didn't want a realtionship and just wanted a friend's with benifits type of ordeal,"
"She used your looks against you. You look like the type of girl to have constant one night stands and no time for commitment," Rainbow started.
"Whereas, its quite the opposite," Sunset finished, looking at Rainbow with almost pleading eyes.
"I like this girl man, she's nothing like Adagio and she's pretty much the whole package that I look for in a woman,"
Rainbow stayed silent for a moment before a small smile curled onto her lips.
"Reminds me alot of how it started off with Flutters and I,"
"You were both as bad at the whole fliritng thing as each other," Sunset chimed in, chuckling lightly. Rainbow pushed herself off her bed and went to sit next to Sunset on hers, placing a hand on the red head's shoulder.
Sunset looked over and Rainbow kept her smile.
"Don't worry, Sun Shim. Adagio was a massive bitch and this girl seems nothing like her at all, not to mention she sounds like a dream so I only have high hopes for you. Besides who really listens to Adagio anymore after everything that's happened,"
Sunset turned to her friend and envolped her in a hug.
"You're right. Thanks, Rainbow,"
"Ah don't mention it. Seriously. Don't need people to think I'm a sap,"
"I second that, got this badass biker chick reputation to uphold," Sunset smirked, bumping fists with Rainbow.
"Preach, Sister!"
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Sunset and Twilight talked non-stop for about 3 more hours until Twilight mentioned she had a paper to write and had to sign off for a while. Sunset took this opportunity to listen to some music through her headphones and sketch in her artbook, the sketch being that of Twilight in her uniform. Sunset ripped it out once she was done and hid it in her drawer by her bed, knowing if Twilight saw this at this point in their friendship she'd be weirded out, no doubt.
"Shim, did you memorise the lyrics for our gig Friday?" Rainbow asked as she climbed into her bed, streching her arms above her head.
Sunset put her headphones around her neck and closed her sketchbook, putting everything away while she talked to Rainbow.
"Yeah, memorised the chords and the lyrics in full. Got wow that crowd y'know?"
"And impress the girl, well, more than you probably already have with your none-stop flirting," Rainbow rolled her eyes but smiled at her friend none the less. Sunset stuck her tounge out at Rainbow before putting her headphones on the bedside table and her phone to charge, slipping into bed.
"Well I was going to put on a rockin' preformance anyway but now I have another reason to do so,"
Rainbow let out a short chuckle before swtiching off the lights.
"Alright, lover girl, cool ya jets,"
"You'd love that wouldn't you,"
"Damn right. Night Sunset,"
"Night Rainbow,"
Rainbow rolled over to face the wall and fell asleep almost instantly. Sunset stared at her ceiling for a few more moments before finally drifitng off to sleep with a smile on her lips.

Do I have other stories to finish and/or add to? Yes. Do I think of a new idea and have no self control so I write it anyway? Also yes.
Hope you enjoy this collage au!
Everything was being set up for the preformance tonight and Sunset had never been nervous about show before in her life. She knew why she was nervous but she knew she had no right to be.
Or did she? What if Twilight thought she was shit? What if this scared her off?
"Ugh!" Sunset cried out causing the stage hands to all look over at her with rasied eyebrows. Sunset slowly turned to them and smiled awkwardly. They stared for a moment more before getting on with what they were doing.
"I have never known, Sunset Shimmer, to be so worried about a preformance," A voice spoke from behind a costume chest. Sunset, her fingers tangeled in her hair, shifted her gaze over to the chest only for a flash of purple locks to pop out from behind it.
"I take it Rainbow told you? Probably the rest of the girls as well?" Sunset asked flatly to which Rarity pursed her lips and looked anywhere else but at Sunset.
"Perhaps...I think it's cute,"
"I don't do cute, Rarity,"
"And yet, here we are," Rarity grinned, motioning to the rest of the room as well as Sunset herself. Sunset shot a really bored look towards Rarity, who ignored it completly.
"You'll be fine, Darling. Once you start singing, your nerves will wash away,"
Sunset breathed out through her nose and nodded slightly, rubbing the back of her neck.
"Yeah...yeah I guess your right,"
"Speaking of singing, I believe we should do a soundcheck quickly. There will be nothing worse than the sound being off during our show tonight,"
"Good idea. Yo, Pinkie!" Sunset called out.
"Hi Sunset!" Pinkie responded loudly, springing out from behind the drum kit causing Sunset to jump slightly and hold her hand over her chest to still her rapidly beating heart.
"God I still need to get used to that.."
"Yep! Anyways what do you need!" Pinkie asked with wide eyes and huge grin. Sunset blinked for a moment.
"Uh, we need to do a soundcheck. Thinking I should sing Talking to Myself, do you think you can soundcheck the drums?"
"Okiedokieloki!"
Sunset always wondered how that girl had so much energy. She shrugged and stepped up to the microphone, guitar in hand with the strap around her neck. Adjusting the chords, she gave a thumbs up to the sound guy and listened as the backing track began. Pinkie's part kicked in and, thank god, the drums sounded good. Sunset breathed in before she began.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Twilight double checked where the venue was as she had only been once or twice as she walked along the road leading up to the venue. The show didn't start for at least a few more hours but Twilight decided to show up a little early to see if they needed any help setting up.
That, and she had absolutely nothing else to do.
She looked up to see she had arrived, poking her head around the corner.
"Hello?"
Sunset leant to the left slightly, smiling widely but also going ever so slightly red.
"Twilight? Hey!"
Twilight let out a sigh of relief when she saw Sunset here.
"Hi, Sunset, may I come around?"
"Oh, of course!" Sunset jumped down from the stage.
"I wasn't doing anything as I had no classes so I thought I'd offer a hand to help set up tonight," Twilight spoke, looking around at all the instruments, sound equipment and cables.
"And that is very thoughtful of you, darling," Rarity spoke up, extending her hand out towards Twilight "Rarity, one of Sunset's best friends, a pleasure to meet you!"
Twilight couldn't help but smile at the warmth that radiated from Rarity, shaking her hand.
"Twilight Sparkle, the pleasure is all mine,"
"I like her," Rarity smirked as she turned to look at Sunset over her shoulder, who just glared at her.
"I like her too, Rarity. Hence why I invited her," Sunset smiled sarcasticly at her friend who just chuckled, releasing Twilight's hand and going round the back of the stage.
"She seems nice," Twilight commented, looking up at Sunset. Sunset looked down and nodded ever so slightly.
"Yeah, Rarity is one of my dearest friends. She's a fashion designer too and always insists on creating clothes for our friendship group,"
"So she created what you are wearing right now?"
Sunset looked down at her outfit, similar to the outfit she wore when they first met minus the leather jacket and wore a long black sleeved top instead.
"Not this one and not the one I'm wearing tonight, no, as I'll be wearing name brand clothing but everything else you'll see me in would of been made by Rarity,"
"Thats amazing! And very generous of her," Twilight smiled.
"Yep! Now, she was just here but I want you to meet-"
"Hi there!" a pink floof appeared from seemingly nowhere.
"-Pinkie Pie," Sunset sighed, shaking her head.
"You must be Sunset's new friend! I'm Pinkie Pie!" Pinkie spoke loudly, frantically shaking Twilight's hand. So much so that her hair tie came undone and her glasses fell off her face, Sunset moving quickly to catch them before they landed on the ground and broke.
"It's..lovely to meet you. My name is Twilight Sparkle," Twilight smiled awkwardly, squinting slightly to try and see the girl properly.
"Hi new friend Twilight Sparkle!" Pinkie almost yelled. Sunset placed a hand on Pinkie's shoulder and pursed her lips.
"Don't scare the girl, Pinks. Why don't you go and help Rarity backstage?"
"Okidoki!" Pinkie jumped off towards the back of the stage.
Sunset ran a hand through her hair, cleaning Twilight's glasses on her shirt.
"I aplogise for her. She's very full on,"
"No? Really? I couldn't tell," Twilight responded with sarcasm, putting her hair back up.
Sunset chuckled, placing a hand on Twilight's cheek. Twilight froze as Sunset moved her face to look her before she removed her hand and lined up Twilight's glasses with her face.
"Here," Sunset said softly, slipping the frame back onto Twilight's face gently before letting go when she knew it was safe to do so.
Twilight blinked a couple of times before looking at Sunset, who wore a bright smile. Twilight could feel herself starting to go red so she looked down slightly, twirling part of her hair around her finger.
"Thank you,"
Sunset bit her lip, putting a hand over her cheek to try and calm the rising blush.
"No problem,"
The two remained there in silence for a few more seconds before Twilight cleared her throat.
"So, what can I do to help?"
Sunset perked up, pointing to a box with lights spilling out of it.
"Do you think you could help Pinkie with decorating?"
"She won't tear we apart if I do something she doesn't like, will she?"
Sunset couldn't help but laugh at that.
"Oh god no. She'll love anything. She's not nearly as crazy as she comes across,"
"Who'd of thought," Twilight giggled, covering her mouth with her hand to hide her rising smile. Sunset noticed this and frowned ever so slightly.
"You shouldn't hide your smile,"
"Hm?"
"Don't hide your smile. It's cute," Sunset commented, trying to find her confidence again. Twilight couldn't help but start to go red again at that comment, removing her hand slowly as her smile remained.
"Atta girl," Sunset winked, picking up her guitar case "I gotta shoot and get ready for our preformance tonight. Hope to see you at the front bar,"
Sunset waltzed away and Twilight was just left staring at where Sunset had just stood. Twilight sighed and ran her hands through her hair.
"Crushing on our friend, are ya?" A voice came from behind Twilight. She spun on her heel to see a girl who was a tad taller than herself and vibrent Rainbow hair, her arms crossed across her chest and a smug smirk on her lips.
"I..I don't..um.." Twilight stammered.
"Rainbow, don't bully Sun's guest. Ya'll are gonna give her ah good ol' scare with 'hat attitude of yers," Twilight looked over her shoulder to the other new voice and let her head and eyes follow a girl who looked like a cowgirl from a western film.
"I'm not bullying! Just asking a question!" Rainbow protested, glancing at the cowgirl before looking back at Twilight "I get it if you do though, she's smoking hot right?"
Twilight's mouth opened and closed, trying to find the words to respond to that statement.
"Rainbow!" The cowgirl snarled, slapping Rainbow upside the head. Rainbow grabbed her head and glared at the taller girl.
The girl ignored her and smiled warmly at Twilight.
"Howdy, sugarcube, ma names Applejack. 'hat parasite over there is Rainbow Dash,"
"Parasite?!" Rainbow yelled, giving Applejack a death glare. Twilight couldn't help but let out a small chuckle at the two girl's banter.
"Will you two behave?!" Rarity spat at the two other girls, both standing to attention as if they were told off my a commanding officer in the army.
"Sorry, Rarity.." Both of them mumbled. Rarity shook her head and rubbed her temples.
"Honestly. Why must you feel the need to embarrass yourself in front of our new friend?" Rarity grumbled, looking at the girls with a very fed up expression.
"...friend?" Twilight squeaked. Rarity looked over and smiled brightly at her.
"Of course, darling! If Sunset considers you a friend, then you are our friend too,"
"Darn tootin'!"
"Hell yeah!"
"But for real though, do you have a thing for Sunset?" Rainbow asked, Rarity and Applejack ready to kill her but Twilight just let out a happy sigh, causing all three girls to look at her.
"...a little bit. She's just...unlike any girl I've ever met,"
"What makes you say that, darling?" Rarity asked in genuine curosity.
"Well first of all, she actually talks to me, not down to me. Secondly, shes just...so incredible from the little time I've known her,"
"Wait until you see her preform," Rainbow grinned, throwing finger guns Twilight's way.
"Is she that good?" Twilight wondered outloud.
"Well if Rainbow 'ere is givin' her praise despite her huge ego, ya know shes pretty darn good,"
"It's true," Rainbow nodded before the gears in her head turned and she finally clocked what Applejack said "Hey!"
Twilight had gone to help with the lights, watching all the three other girls chat and laugh among theirselves. It made Twilight smile softly as she worked. These girls refered to her as their friend. They also said Sunset said she thought of herself as friend and Sunset's friends seem perfectly normal with herself being super gay towards their friend.
"I could get used to this.." Twilight whispered to herself and she got back to work setting up.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Twilight stood at the front bar, drink in hand as she waited for The Rainbooms to come on stage. She had just watched and listened to the support band called Trixie and the Illusions. They weren't bad but Twilight didn't think she'd listen to any of their stuff by choice in the future. Besides, she was here for one reason and one reason only. To see Sunset preform. Flash and Timber wanted to kill her when they found out.
Twilight had made small talk with a couple of people here and there but not too much, crowds never really were her type of scene anyways. She was also sporting a tshirt for The Rainbooms as she liked the look of it and she wanted to support the band. She watched as the lights went down and the crowd started cheering. First on stage was Pinkie Pie, starting off the song with the drum beat. Next was Rainbow Dash who ran on stage, striking chords as if her life depended on it. Next was Applejack, plunking at her bass and Rarity, on what appeared to be a keytar although she was stood in front of a microphone and not touching her keytar so Twilight assumed she was on backing vocals for this song. Another girl with light pink hair hopped onto stage with a tambourine, Twilight assumed she was friends with the rest of the other girls and she was amazed at how she worked her tambourine to the tone and tune of the song itself. And then, the one person Twilight was here for.
Sunset Shimmer ran onto stage, mic in hand and a huge grin on her lips and her eyes bright as the light shone on her. Twilight watched as she interacted with the other girls on stage, headbanging with Rainbow while she played air guitar back to back with the shorter girl, mimiking Pinkie's drumming which got Pinkie hyped before turning back to the crowd and thats when Twilight felt time come to a stand still around her.
"I've been waiting for the sun to come up and to let you know
There's a reason that I up and left about a week ago ,"
Sunset's voice was so unlike anything she'd heard from a female. It was raspy and deep but not so much that it made her sound manly just..
Sexy.
Twilight's world started spinning again as she watched Sunset move around stage as she sang, the crowd bouncing around with her which caused Twilight to bop her head along as well. Twilight and Sunset's eyes caught in the moment and Sunset winked at her, smirking before she poured her heart into the chorus.
"I wanna start over, where do we begin?
I thought I was stronger than to let you in ,"
Twilight listened to each word carefully and pondered who this was about. Maybe an ex she still has feelings for?
"Had, Twilight. Don't give up hope just yet, " Twilight thought as she listened to the next part of the chorus.
"I'm finally learning how the tables are turning
So let's start this over, but where do we begin? ,"
Twilight let out a soft sigh. She could tell this crush would come with a few issues more than she was hoping.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
The preformance was coming to a close and Twilight could honestly say she hadn't had this much fun in...she actually doesn't remember having this much fun! She was also going to be sure to download the bands album when she got back to her room. Paying for it of course.
"Alright guys, this is our last song for tonight," Sunset spoke and the crowd let out an 'awh' in responce. Sunset chuckled and waved her hand dismissingly.
"C'mon guys, you make it seem like we are going away forever! We'll be back soon and, hopefully, with new stuff! But for now, to close the show, here's Frozen," Sunset smiled, putting her mic on the stand and grabbing her guitar. She tuned it before starting to play the first chords.
Twilight smiled as she watched the golden haired girl play, letting out a dream sigh that couldn't be heard over the music but she knew what she did.
Sunset sang her heart out for this last song, bouncing side or side as she sang and played the guitar.
"With everything that's burning up inside of me
Here's something for your diary
You had the opportunity
To find out just what we could be but all was frozen after all ,"
Twilight quickly took out her phone and took some photos while Sunset had her eyes closed as she sang, making sure to take some pictures of the other girls as well so it didn't look really creepy. She managed to get one final picture of Sunset when she had her eyes open, making sure to quickly put her phone away before Sunset noticed. She bit her lip as she made eye contact with Sunset again, giving her a little wave to which Sunset responded with a nod of the head and a bright smile.
Twilight groaned internally.
"I'm so smitten... "
"So, what did you think?" A voice asked from behind Twilight, she turned around and saw Sunset looking at her with hope, her smile wide. Most of the corwd have left by now so the venue was pretty much empty. Twilight tucked a piece of hair behind her ear and smiled softly up at her crush.
"I thought you were fantastic! I never knew you were so talented,"
Sunset went bright red at the compliment, putting her hands on her cheeks to try and cool them down.
"Awh stop, I'm blushing! But I'm glad you enjoyed it!"
"That I did, and you weren't awful so I guess you aren't entilted to buy me dinner," Twilight could of physically kicked herself right there and then.
"Good job, Sparkle. Now she won't take me dinner cause I had to open my big fucking mouth! " Twilight mentally scoled herself.
Sunset's face twisted and shook her head in response to the statement.
"Oh no you don't, you're not getting out of dinner that easily, Sparky!"
"S-Sparky?" Twilight managed to squeak out, her eyes wide.
"Yeah, calling you Twilight all the time takes too long. Plus it sounds so formal, might as well call you Miss Sparkle-" Sunset paused for a moment and did a mock bow to which Twilight giggled at "-so I've decided that giving you a nickname makes our lives easier. Why? Not a fan?"
"No! I mean no I'm not not a fan of the nickname! Just never really been given a nickname by someone that wasn't my older brother,"
"And that was?"
"Twily,"
"I'll be sure to not use that one as it will probably make things very awkward," Sunset snorted, crossing her arms over her chest.
Twilight shook her head and cleared her throat.
"So..dinner?"
Sunset's head snapped up and nodded.
"Yes, right, I know a little resturant not too far from here. You like Japanese food?"
"Very much so," Twilight responded, following Sunset but not before waving goodbye to the rest of the girls and expressing her thanks for the night.
"That's handy then!" Sunset beamed, walking over to a motorcycle and handing Twilight a helmet. Twilight held the helmet and gave Sunset a confused look.
"I thought you said it wasn't too far,"
Sunset looked over her shoulder and smiled warmly.
"Yeah, by motorcycle. Sorry, did I not mention that?"
"It didn't come up.." Twilight mumbled nervously. Sunset lifted her head to look her in the eyes.
"Hey..it'll be okay. Trust me,"
Twilight looked into the girls eyes and didn't see a trace of a lie anywhere. She took a deep breath and nodded, giving Sunset a small smile.
"Alright, I trust you,"
"Good! Now hop on," Sunset spoke, putting her helmet on and placing each leg either side of the motorcycle. Twilight followed what Sunset did soon after.
"Although if I die, I'm 100% coming back to haunt you,"
"Understandable, you have my blessing on that front," Sunset laughed before noticing Twilight kinda just sat awkwardly on the back of her bike. "Put you arms around me,"
"Excuse me?" Twilight asked a little too urgently.
"You'll fall off if you sit like that while we are on the move. Put your arms around my waist," Sunset said in a firm tone, clearly worried about the wellbeing of the book worm. Twilight hesitated for a moment before doing as she was told, slipping her arms around Sunset's waist. She relaxed a little when she inhaled, subtly, Sunset's scent.
Rose's and smoke. An odd combination to say the least but Twilight found it somewhat comforting.
"Ready?" Sunset asked, turning her head slightly.
"As I'll ever be," Twilight responded, tightening her grip around Sunset's waist a little.
Sunset revved the engine and began to make her way out of the carpark. Once out, she double checked on Twilight before making her way down the road. Sunset started off slow at first but began to speed up a little as they hit the main road.
Twilight had been taking deep breaths while they were on the move, trying to calm her nerves to no anvil. That was, until, she saw the the view. The city skyline in the distance was illumanted by neon lights, coming from building signs and advertising, and it took her breath away. She sighed and relaxed into Sunset, resting her head against Sunset's back.
Although Twilight couldn't see, Sunset's lip curved into a smile as she felt the book worm relax into her. She pondered for a moment while at a stop light and sighed internally. She was falling for Twilight and she was falling hard and fast with no sign of her feelings slowing down or going away. She knew she wanted to be with Twilight but she also knew one thing, or person for this matter, would try and stand in the way of her happiness. Her face screwed up at the thought of her ex, shaking her head lightly as she noticed the light was green and set off down the road again.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Sunset parked her motorcycle in front of the lovely looking Japanese resturant, tapping Twilight's hand.
"You can let go now," Sunset spoke softly.
"Huh...Oh! S-sorry," Twilight stuttered, removing her hands a little too quickly. Sunset climbed off the motorcycle and removed her helmet, shaking her head and letting her hair flow. She then offered her hand to Twilight to help her off.
"Aren't you chivalrous, Miss Shimmer?" Twilight teased, taking the older girls hand and climbing off the vehicle before removing her own helmet.
"Not towards most people but for you, Miss Sparkle, I've made an exception," Sunset winked but instead of Twilight blushing and going giddy like she normally would, Twilight smirked and slid her arm around Sunset's own.
"Oh then I must be speical. If this goes well, then I'll show you just how special I think you are,"
Sunset, in that moment, became the human equivalent of the sun as her body temperature shot up and her face went a bright red.
"I..I uh..can't..words," Sunset attempted, looking away from Twilight. Twilight started laughing, rubbing Sunset's arm.
"I'm just teasing! It's good to know how to get to you thought," Twilight spoke smungly, to which Sunset just glared at her.
"You are an evil, evil woman,"
"You're not wrong," Twilight grinned. Sunset couldn't help but smile at the shorter girl attached to her arm, opening the door for her.
"Why thank you," Twilight mock bowed.
"You are most welcome," Sunset joined in the mock bow, the both of them laughing as they entered the resturant.
"Hello, how may I-Sunset?" The girl at the podium stared in shock before a huge smile spread across her lips.
"Hey, Wallflower," Sunset grinned, letting go of Twilight for a moment to give the girl a hug. Twilight swore she felt her eye twitch as a pang of jealousy shot through her body like a lightning bolt.
"I'll get you and your friend here the best table!" Wallflower smiled as led the two girls to their table. The two girls sat down; Wallflower handed them their menus and walked off so they could decide.
"So..how do you two know each other?" Twilight asked, trying not to let her jealousy show in her tone. Sunset glanced up from her menu, noticing her change of tone but not showing that she knew.
"I used to work here back in High school as a means to earn extra cash. Wallflower and I didn't start off on the right foot but we soon became good friends and when I found out she needed a job, I got her one here and by the looks of it she's made the most of it," Sunset responded with a smile. Twilight's features softened as she glanced over at Wallflower, who was talking to some guests.
"She looks like shes a manager of some sort,"
"I think she is, good for her," Sunset nodded, putting her menu down "Have you decided what you want?"
"Not yet..I'm trying to find the cheapest thing they have..." Twilight replied, scanning over the menu and biting her lip at the prices. Sunset placed her finger at the top of Twilight's menu and pushed it down slightly so she could look Twilight in the eye, her eyebrow raised and a frown on her face.
"There will be none of that. You are not putting me out of pocket by ordering what you want. So order what you want and however much you want because this is a date and as the one who initaited the date, I am paying for everything,"
Twilight tried to respond but Sunset put a finger up and shook her head.
"Nope, no excuses. I'm being dead serious here,"
Twilight closed her mouth but smiled at the girl across from her.
"That is very sweet of you, Sunset. Thank you,"
"Don't mention it, Sparky," Sunset grinned, closing her menu "Let me know when you are ready to order,"
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
About an half an hour passed and they had finally got all the food they ordered. Twilight found out that Sunset could eat enough to feed a small village which she found wonderfully attractive for some reason.
"So tell me a little more about yourself, Sunset," Twilight asked. Sunset's head snapped up with her eyes wide as her cheeks her puffed out, full of food. Twilight snorted and let out a laugh at the sight. Sunset narrowed her eyes and swallowed her food.
"Aha, very funny, Sparkle. Next time you have an embarrassing moment, I'm going to take a photo of it,"
"Yeah, good luck with that one," Twilight smiled with a way that said 'try me bitch' "But seriously, spill,"
Sunset leant back into her chair and went to open her mouth but closed it instantly as she continued to think.
Twilight saw her struggling and decided to help.
"How about you tell me why you never take off your jacket or why you always wear long sleeved tops?"
Sunset paused for a moment and looked down, fiddeling with the sleeve of her jacket before mumbling something.
"What was that?" Twilight asked softly.
"I don't want to scare you off," Sunset replied, a little louder.
Twilight thought for a moment before it clicked as to what Sunset might mean.
"Oh I'm so sorry I didn't mean to offend you! But do you have-"
"-scars? Yes but thats not why since they are barely noticeable anyway,"
"So what are you hiding that you are certain will scare me off? I can almost guarantee that it won't,"
"Almost?"
"Hush," Twilight giggled slightly which caused Sunset to force a small smile, taking a deep breath.
"You promise you won't leg it?" Sunset asked.
"Cross my heart,"
Sunset nodded and went to remove her jacket. Twilight gasped when it was fully removed while Sunset avoided eye contact until Twilight said something.
Sunset's arms were covered in tattoos and Twilight had to stop herself from fanning herself off because boy howdy was she sweating over the sight. As if Twilight thought Sunset couldn't get any hotter, she pulls out tattoos.
Goddamn it.
"I knew this was a mistake," Sunset grumbled, going to put her jacket back on.
"No!" Twilight exclaimed quickly, putting her hand on the hand that Sunset was using to reach for her jacket. Sunset looked on at Twilight with suprise to which Twilight could only shoot an awkward smile.
"Sorry. I was just admiring them all. I don't get why you though they would scare me off,"
"I just assumed you'd think they were tacky and gross,"
"I think tattoos are a form of art. They suit you well and I would never think they were tacky,"
Sunset put her jacket down and smiled brightly, putting her hand on the table; Twilight's hand still over the top of hers. Twilight looked at Sunset with a dreamy gaze, smiling back at the girl.
"Ahem," A voice coughed in front of the table. Sunset and Twilight looked up to Wallflower standing over the table with a huge smirk on her face. Sunset raised an eyebrow, Twilight gave an equally confused look until they both looked down at their hands. They both removed their hands at the same time and rubbed her back of their hands while their faces lit up red.
"Sorry to interrupt, but I was going to ask if you wanted the dessert menu to browse over while you finished you meals,"
"Y-Yes please. Thanks, Wallflower..." Sunset spoke quietly, extending her hand out to take the menu. Once the menu was in hand, Sunset retracted her hand and glared at Wallflower out of the corner of her eye. Wallflower just smiled and placed the other menu on the table for Twilight before waltzing off.
"So..more about yourself?" Twilight spoke up, trying to fill the awkward void that was just created.
Sunset looked up and breathed out her nose.
"Alright. Um, next to rock and metal and pop-punk, my favourite genre of music is EDM. Specifically House,"
"You're kidding,"
"God no. Give me anything with a good beat drop and I'm in love,"
"Not at all what I pictured you listening to in your spare time," Twilight leant on her right hand, her head tilted ever so slightly as she looked at Sunset. Sunset just shrugged and put her arm on the back of her chair.
"Yeah I get that alot. Unfortunatly the style I originally went for was looking like I'd body someone in a mosh pit,"
"Have you ever been to a rave?"
"Plently. They aren't nearly as nasty as people make them out to be,"
"Is that right?"
"That's right indeed," Sunset replied with a toothy smile. Twilight stared on for a moment before nodding, happy with the answer. Both girls took a moment to order deseart before Twilight started up again.
"What else?"
"I'm also heavily into scores for TV, Film and Games,"
"Really?"
"Yep! My ringtone is the Avengers theme,"
"Huh. And uh..who did the score for that?" Twilight challenged, leaning forward on the table with a smirk across her lips and a glem in her eyes. Sunset looked at the girl with a raised eyebrow before scoffing at her; leaning forward as well to look Twilight dead in the eye.
"Alan Silvestri. Who, also, did the scores for Ready Player One and Back to the Future,"
Twilight sat there dumbfound.
"Oh my good lord she's actually perfect, " Twilight thought to herself, swallowing.
"Don't test my trivia, Sparky. I'm better than I look,"
They stayed silent for a moment while Sunset took a sip of her drink.
"I'm also a massive fan of Ariana Grande," Sunset spoke into glass, having to put it down to stop herself from dropping it after laughing at Twilight choking on her food at what she said.
Twilight put a hand to her chest to calm her breathing and actually swallow her food properly. Once settled, Twilight glanced at Sunset over the rim of her glasses only to see the girl with an innocent smile.
"Better?" Sunset asked as if she hadn't just caused the book worm to almost choke to death.
"You? You like Ariana Grande? You, miss badass biker babe, like Ariana Grande," Twilight just spoke in utter disbelief.
"Miss badass biker babe huh? I like that one~" Sunset purred at Twilight while shooting her a wink causing Twilight's breath to hitch. Happy with the reaction, Sunset continued.
"Yes, I like Ariana Grande. I think she's a wonderful person and she's incredibly talented. Not to mention super pretty,"
"I wholeheartedly agree with you," Twilight nodded in agreement, smiling softly at Sunset. Sunset smiled back before getting up.
"Where are you going?"
"Just to the bathroom, don't panic," Sunset replied with a chuckle, streching slightly before walking in the direction of the bathroom. Twilight didn't think Sunset would just bail from her date but Sunset leaving all her belongs at the table did help ease her constantly unsteady conscience.
"I've only seen her look at one other person like that," A voice spoke from beside Twilight, causing the girl to jump slightly. Twilight looked up to see Wallflower standing next to her but she was looking dead ahead to where the bathroom door was.
"I'm sorry?" Twilight asked in pure confusion.
Wallflower's eye shifted to look at Twilight very briefly before going back to the door. She breathed through her nose.
"Sunset has only looked at one other girl the way she's been looking at you tonight and...it did not end well,"
Twilight stared at Wallflower a little longer but sensed she wasn't done so she averted her gaze to the table, folding her hands.
"Sunset's ex is..a devil woman. She abused her emotionally and physically but nobody saw it until Sunset was broken in more ways than one. It took her so long to get back to being herself,"
"I think you have the wrong end of the stick. I don't like-"
"-cut the crap. I've seen the way you look at her too," Wallflower practically snapped which caused Twilight to flinch. She noticed this and sighed heavily.
"I'm sorry, Twilight. I'm just scared. I don't want to see Sunset hurt like that ever again,"
"I would never do anything to hurt Sunset," Twilight spoke softly, now understanding the standoffish nature of Wallflower.
"Thats what here ex said too..."
Twilight pursed her lips, twiddeling her thumbs before turning her head slightly to look at Wallflower.
"What's her name?"
"Twilight-"
"-if everything you said about how she had been looking at me and how I have been looking at her then don't I have the right to at least know this 'devil woman's name?"
Wallflower stared at Twilight, who stared back. Both girl were glaring at each other until Wallflowers eyes narrowed and she sighed heavily, giving up this fight.
"...Adagio,"
Twilight felt the colour drain from her face and her hands go clammy.
"A-Adagio. As in Adagio Dazzle of The Dazzlings? That Adagio?"
"The very same."
"I'm competing with a superstar..." Twilight said breathlessly, sinking into her chair and running a hand through her hair.
Wallflower glanced at her and raised an eyebrow.
"Former superstar,"
"Huh?"
"When was the last time you heard anything about The Dazzlings?"
Twilight pondered for a moment before tilting her head to look up at Wallflower.
"Not since their second album. When I finished high school my music taste changed rather dramatically,"
Wallflower turned to look at her, still keep an eye on the bathroom door.
"Then you are really far behind on news,"
"What could I of possibly missed?"
"Remember when I said Adagio abused Sunset?"
"Yes.." Twilight tensed a little, not liking where this conversation was going.
"Well Sunset was going to report it to the cops cause she'd finally had enough and it's domestic abuse but what Adagio did was hurt herself and pass it off as Sunset's doing. She posted pictures on all her social media and word quickly spread that Sunset was an abusive partner and not only blamed her, but The Rainbooms. Their fanbased plummented and they almost disbanned,"
Twilight listened with her mouth agap in shock and disgust.
"How could someone do that to the person they are supposed to love? "
Wallflower gritted her teeth and took a deep breath before continuing.
"Sunset got into trouble for something that wasn't her fault and she had never felt worse. She was trapped in that realtionship. Everytime she tried to leave, Adagio would hurt herself again and threaten to go to the cops and have her arrested. The only people who believed her were her boss at the shop, myself and the girls and it wasn't until Sonata came forward with evidence that things finally began to clear up,"
"Sonata? Adagio's back up singer?"
Wallflower nodded.
"Adagio was always horrid to that girl and Sunset was always there for her to help pick up the pieces. She treated Sonata like a little sister and Sonata adored Sunset so when she found out about the allegations surronding Sunset, she immediately found it suspious. So what she did was find as much evidence as she could to prove Sunset's innocence,"
"And did it work?" Twilight asked hopefully. Wallflower smiled softly.
"Yes. What really helped was that Sonata managed to get a video on her phone of Adagio grabbing Sunset by the neck and yelling at her and saying 'just try and leave! I'll just hurt myself more and cry wolf and everyone will eat it up because they see you as the fucking monster! I'm free as a bird and theres nothing you can do about it!',"
"Jesus chirst..."
"Yep. Sonata took it too the cops, along with all the other evidence, and they took matter into their own hands. They said to Sunset that if Adagio caused anymore trouble to herself or her friends that she let them know right away and they'll sort it out. They also apologised for accusing her so blindly at first,"
"And Sunset forgave them? I would of been livid at them!"
"Sunset was upset, sure, but she understood how it all looked so she was quick to forgive and forget. Word quickly spread about the true as well, across all social media platforms and not only did Sunset get her reputation back, she got more fans than ever as well as everyone aplogising for assuming it was all her and The Rainbooms skyrocketed in view and streaming numbers and fans so I guess it all worked out,"
"Yeah..I guess so,"
"So-"
"Hey guys, what are we talking about?" Sunset asked as she poked her head between Wallflower and Twilight causing both girls to jump back.
Wallflower's eyes darted everywhere until she finally took a moment to regain her composure.
"Nothing. I was just talking to Twilight about how I also like A Day to Remeber. What took you so long?"
Sunset's eyes drifted up to the celing and she licked her lips.
"Uh nothing important. Let's go back to the A Day To Remeber conversation,"
Wallflower, although shorter than her, stared Sunset down as a evil smile spread across her lips.
"..you were on your phone and your legs fell asleep, didn't they?"
Sunset could feel her face heat up, her head drooping as she crossed her arms in a strop.
"Shut up..."
Both Twilight and Wallflower laughed at this, Sunset glancing over to Twilight and smiling gently as she saw Twilight happy.
"We should probably get going anyway, there's one last thing I want to show Twilight before we head back so could I grab the bill?," Sunset asked, straightening up again. Wallflower nodded and waltzed off to get it.
"Are you sure about paying for it?" Twilight asked once again. Sunset sighed.
"Yes, Twi. I don't actually ever go out very often and when I do, it doesn't ever really require heaps of money, so I have a lot of money thats stored in my account and I can't think of anything else that I'd rather spend it on than dinner with a beautiful girl,"
Twilight just looked at Sunset with her mouth in a 'o' shape and she could feel the butterflies in her stomach go insane. Twilight's lips finally formed a smile, twirling her hair around her finger.
"You flatter me, Sunset Shimmer,"
"I'm glad. It means I get to see that award winning smile of yours!" Sunset winked, her attention turning to Wallflower as she came back with the bill. As Sunset paid for it, Wallflower gave Twilight a subtle thumbs up, to which Twilight returned.
"All done! Let's jet," Sunset spoke as she grabbed her jacket and turned to Twilight, holding her hand out to the girl. Twilight mock bowed and took Sunset's hand, both girls bidding Wallflower farewell.
"So. Where are you taking me?"
"You shall see,"
"Yeah, cause that doesn't sound creepy at all," Twilight snorted. Sunset gave her a bored look.
"Oh ha ha, that's real funny,"
"Thanks, I'm here all week,"
Sunset chuckled as she bopped Twilight on top of the head before handing her, her helmet.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Sunset pulled up her bike next to a nearby tree and helped Twilight off, both girls removing their helmets and placing them on the bike.
"So why did you bring me up onto a hill?" Twilight asked as she looked around. Twilight stared at the sky for a moment, the sky painted with stars and a moon that lit up the sky. She came back to earth when she noticed Sunset placing her jacket down on the grass, sitting down on it. Sunset twisted her head to look at Twilight over her shoulder and smile warmly.
"Come sit,"
Twilight blinked for a moment before joining Sunset.
"You didn't answer my question before,"
"Just wait alright? I promise it'll be worth it,"
Just as soon as she said that, Twilight heard a loud whistle and a bang. Her head snapped to the sky just in time to see where the noise came from, her eyes going wide.
Twilight watched as the second firework shot up into the sky and burst out into different colours and patterns, in awe of the sight.
Sunset turned her head slightly to see Twilight in a trance and let out a short laugh, leaning back on her hands. She continued to watch until she noticed Twilight shiver ever so slightly, wrapping her arms around herself. Sunset took it upon herself to shuffle closer and wrap a arm around the bookworms shoulders, rubbing her arm slightly.
Twilight looked over, Sunset meeting her eyes. Twilight smiled in thanks and turned her attention back to the sky to both, watch the fireworks and to hide her rising blush.
Sunset tried too keep her attention on the display but kept glancing to Twilight, biting her lip.
"Hey Sparky?"
"Yeah?" Twilight responded just loud enough for Sunset to hear, turning to look at Sunset only to meet her eyes again. Her..deep, beautiful cyan eyes. Twilight's breath hitched as she found herself in a trance.
"I...I just..." Sunset tried but found herself lost for words as she stared at the girl in front of her. Her breath quickened and she felt her throat go dry; her heard racing.
"..Fuck it, " Sunset thought as she threw caution to the wind and leant in, capturing Twilight's lips in a soft kiss. Twilight's eyes went wide as she fell out of her trance and came back to reality. Sunset was kissing her. Sunset was kissing her!
Sunset was kissing her. Twilight's thoughts finally caught up with her as she felt Sunset pull away, her face red hot and her lips curled downwards into a frown as a moment of silence was brought on as the fireworks stopped.
"I shouldn't of done that. I-I'm so sorry, Twilight," Sunset whispered, looking down at her hands.
"Don't be,"
"Huh?" Sunset responded as she looked up in suprise. Twilight sat there, her breathing heavy as she leant forward ever so slightly.
"Kiss me."
"A-are you sure? I don't-" Sunset was stopped as Twilight placed a finger to her lips, a bright smile erupting from her face.
"I'm sure. I've never been so sure about anything in my life," Twilight spoke with a voice like honey. Sunset licked her lips and nodded, smiling back.
She didn't need to be told twice.
Sunset pulled Twilight closer and kissed her again as she was told, closing her eyes as she eased into it. Twilight smiled against her lips and kissed the flame haired girl back, also closing her eyes. Just as they kissed, the fireworks started up again for the grand finale.
Lips moved together in rhythm as the two girls remained there in that perfect moment, just them. Sunset was the first to pull away as she didn't want to push her luck. She smiled as she rested her forehead against Twilight's, only just opening her eyes. Twilight opened hers after Sunset and looked at the girl with love and admiration as the fireworks had reached its pinnacle and ended.
"That could of gone so badly wrong..." Sunset spoke quietly, her hand cupping Twilight's cheek gently. Twilight leant into her hand and place her hand on Susnet's outstreched arm.
"But it didn't and..I'm glad it didn't,"
"As am I," Sunset replied, stroking Twilight's cheek with her thumb "So..would you like to..maybe...I dunno..be..my girlfriend?"
Twilight shook her head in dissapointment as the girls cluelessness and captured the taller girls lips in another, short, sweet kiss. Sunset's eyes went wide as she just sat there and before she could kiss back, Twilight pulled away again before kissing the biker girls nose and giggling at Sunset's reaction.
"As if it wasn't obvious before, yes, Sunset Shimmer, I'd love to be you girlfriend,"
Sunset smiled so widely, Twilight thought her jaw unhinged. Twilight moved to sit in between her new girlfriends legs, leaning back into Sunset. She lifted her head up to look at Sunset only for Sunset to look down and nuzzle her nose against Twilight's.
"Let's just stay here a bit longer," Twilight suggested. She assumed Sunset had already agreed with her as she wrapped her arms around her waist in a warm embrace but she also voiced her confirmation.
"I don't think there's anywhere I'd rather be right now than right here with you,"

Songs are Breaking Ground and Frozen by State Champs.
Light poured in through the blinds, leaving shadowed lines on the carpet. Unfortunately one individual caught the light instead of the shadows and began to stir.
Twilight closed her eyes tighter in an effort to try and ignore the light and go back to sleep but had no luck. She groaned and began to open her eyes, rubbing the tiredness out of them as she did so. She took a moment to survey her surrondings when she realised something.
This was not her dorm room.
It was still early, by Twilight's standards, so her brain was currently rebooting. Giving herself a moment she remebered that Sunset had, sweetly, offered to let her spend the night in her dorm room as her own dorm room was all the way across the other side of the campus. Sunset had let Twilight borrow a pair of her PJ's, which was really just a tshirt and a pair of baggy flannel bottoms, and they had slept together. Literally just slept, no funny business as both girls thought it was way way too soon for any of that. Also they had only gone on one date and Twilight knew putting out was for the third date at least. While lost in her thoughts, she felt movement underneath her.
Twilight looked down at the hand that lay on her stomach and followed the arm the hand belonged to all the way up and around only for her eyes to land on a sleeping Sunset. Her breathing was soft and she looked so peaceful, like she didn't have a care in the world. Twilight couldn't help but smile when she remembered how she ended up cuddled up with Sunset.
*Flashback*
"Sunset seriously, I can take Rainbow's bed! I texted her and she said she didn't mind as she was staying in Fluttershy's room tonight,"
"Nu uh, you shouldn't have to feel like you can't share a bed with me! I don't bite!" Sunset argued until pulled Twilight in by her waist and leant down next to her ear, practically purring "Unless you ask nicely~"
Twilight laughed and smacked Sunset's arm, looking at the girl with amusment.
"God, you are the absolute worse!"
"Oh I know," Sunset replied, blowing a raspberry into Twilight's neck which caused the girl to erupt into more laughter.
"Sunset, stop!" Twilight laughed as Sunset continued, beginning to tickle Twilight's sides to add to the torture.
Twilight tried to push Sunset away as she began to walk backwards only to stumbled and fall onto the bed, dragging Sunset with her as both girls let out a cry of suprise. Twilight shook her head and laid there on the bed; looking up at Sunset, who had both hands either side of Twilight's head to keep herself up and a worried look on her face.
"Twilight, I'm so sorry! Are you hurt? Did I hurt you?" Sunset asked frantically as her eyes scanned the shorter girl for any sign of injury. Twilight couldn't help but smile softly at the sight. It was cute how much Sunset cared for her, even before they developed proper feelings for each other.
Twilight reached up a hand and cupped Sunset's cheek, Sunset looking into her new girlfriends eyes with traces of worry still in her own.
"I'm okay, Sunset. I promise," Twilight spoke gently. Sunset kept staring for a moment before nodding, leaning down to plant a kiss upon Twilight's lips.
Before Twilight could react, Sunset pulled away and kissed her cheek, then her jaw and then planted soft kisses on her neck.
Twilight let out a hum of pleasure, her head tilting back slightly and closing her eyes as Sunset worked her way back up her neck and nibbled on her ear. As if Sunset could tell Twilight was enjoying it, she pulled away which caused Twilight to pout in annoyance. Sunset shot her an apologetic smile.
"Sorry, babe. I think it's way to early to go into any of that right now," Sunset replied as if reading Twilight's thoughts, pushing herself up so she was now stood.
"No, I agree with you. But must you tease me so?"
"I must, dear. So it'll be that much sweeter when we do get around to it," Sunset spoke in a low voice, running her tounge over her upper lip as she stared directly into Twilight's eyes. Twilight narrowed her eyes and huffed.
"That's fine. I'll just masterbate to the thought of you then," Twilight spoke proudly, thinking that would gross Sunset out enough to retract her statement but when Sunset just said nothing, Twilight got confused.
"That's hot," Was all Sunset spoke before a pillow hit her square in the face. Sunset laughed loudly as she caught the pillow on the way down to the floor and at Twilights reaction.
"You're so gross!"
"Hey, you're the one who basically said they were gonna finger themselves to the thought of me. But I'm the gross one, sure!"
"It was a threat of sorts to make you retract your statement!"
"Well that went poorly then, didn't it?"
"Why are you this way?" Twilight asked flatly. Sunset shrugged and gave Twilight a wide, grin.
Twilight shook her head before looking between Rainbow's bed and Sunset's. She chewed on her lip before finally giving in.
"Alright, I'll share your bed with you,"
"Huh. Nagging does work after all,"
"Apprently so," Twilight scoffed. Sunset walked over to her cupboard and rummaged around for a short moment before pulling out a plain white tshirt and flannel bottoms and then a black shirt and flannel bottoms but in a different colour, handing the first pair to Twilight.
"These might be a bit big for you but I don't think it matters too much since its just for sleeping. You can use the bathroom to get changed," Sunset smiled. Twilight nodded and walked to the bathroom. When going to close the door, Twilight did a double take on Sunset, who was now standing in her topless in her jeans as she looked down at the shirt in her hands. Twilight took a good look at Sunset's upper body, taking in her toned stomach with traces of faint but noticable abs. She spent too long staring becuase she noticed that Sunset was beginning to take off her jeans, unbuckling her belt. Twilight quickly but quietly, closed the door and finally let herself breath again.
"I'm dating a goddamn model " Twilight thought to herself, sighing as she felt her self-eestem lowering, not that it was that high to begin with. As Twilight got changed, her mind began to wonder.
"What could she possibly see in me? Is this all just a massive prank? " Twilight pondered, a frown making its way onto her lips. She stuck with those thoughts for a few moments before shaking her head "No, Twilight don't think like that. Sunset wouldn't do that, she's not like that...she can't be.. "
Twilight finally finished getting changed, trying to push her doubtful thoughts away but some still remained in the back of her mind. She walked up to the closed door and pressed against it slightly.
"Are you decent?"
"Always," Was the responce that Twilight got, causing her to let out a small giggle. Although she didn't get a straight answer to her question, she opened the door and walked out of the bathroom anyway. Sunset was, thankfully, fully dressed into her PJ's.
Sunset looked up and opened her arms to Twilight, to which the boom worm walked into and wrapped her arms around the taller girls waist. Sunset returned the hug and burried her face into Twilight's hair, smiling sadly.
"Are you okay?" Twilight asked softly, curious as to the sudden display of affection. Of course she'd been affectionate all night, with the kiss and cuddling under the stars and all that, but the hug they were sharing here felt..different.
"I'm good I..." Sunset stopped, taking a deep breath and releasing Twilight from the hug. She looked the shorter girl in the eye before sitting down on the bed, looking down at the floor while her leg bounced up and down "I'm scared,"
"Of?"
"This. Us. I don't want to fuck this up..." Sunset spoke sadly, avoiding eye contact at all costs. Twilight felt a pang of hurt for Sunset shoot through her body as she put the pieces together. She walked a couple of steps and sat down next to Sunset on the bed, placing a gentle hand on her restless leg.
Twilight looked at Sunset and spoke, even though Sunset didn't look back.
"You won't. Whatever you think you'll do to screw this up, I can guarantee it won't bother me or make me think any less of you. And it certainly won't make me want to just up and leave you, not by a long shot. I've made a commitment to this relationship and to you and I'm not going to bail under any circumstances,"
Sunset finally looked up at Twilight, looking into her eyes to find the answer she was looking for.
"You know then,"
"If we are talking about your ex girlfriend, then yes, Wallflower told me everything. I'm so sorry you had to go through all that,"
"Don't be. It's all just a memory now. But I guess you understand why my fear is warranted,"
"Yes. I do,"
Sunset shifted slightly, crossing her legs over each other and now facing Twilight, who remained in the same sitting position but kept her head down.
"I had never felt about anyone the way I felt for Adagio. I fell hard, I fell fast. I thought that she was the one . So when she treated me like shit and did all the things she did, I just took it because I was so in love with her. I just kept saying to myself 'she's having a bad day, its not your fault'. But those days turned into weeks which turned into months until one day I finally snapped. I finally realised that I didn't deserve to be treated this way but she didn't like that, nor did she like the fact that I tried to leave her. She made my life an absolute misery."
Sunset lifted her head to look at Twilight, tears brimming and beginning to fall.
"That's why I'm scared. I'm falling for you, Twilight, just like I did with Adagio and I'm so so scared."
Twilight waited for Sunset to finish, tears threatening to spill.
"I don't want to get hurt again..."
Twilight gave up trying to hold back her tears and just let them run. She mimicked the sitting position Sunset was sat in and took the girls hands causing Sunset's eyes to go wide.
"Sunset. I know you're scared. If I was you right now, I'd be absolutely terrified. But I will never, ever, hurt you and I know that's what Adagio said to you but I mean this from the bottom of my heart. You mean so much to me. Even in the short time we've know each other, I've felt a deeper connection to you in this past week than I have in any of my previous relationships. I don't want to hurt you, I could never hurt you. You are so special to me, Sunset Shimmer,"
Sunset hung onto every word that Twilight said and couldn't stop the smile that broke out onto her face, even through the tears. She rested her forehead against Twilight's and let out a shakey breath.
"I won't let you down. I won't ever hurt you, Twilight. I can promise you that. And I can promise that from this day on, my heart belongs to you and to you alone. I may still be a bit sore, but if you can be patient with me, I assure you that I will do my very best to be the best girlfriend I can be for you,"
"And that's all I ask. I'll help you through your hurt every step of the way,"
"Thank you," Sunset sniffled. Twilight, still hold Sunset's hands, stroked the back of them with her thumbs.
"Let's get some sleep, you must be tired after all that,"
"Yeah, being an emotional wreck is exhausting," Sunset joked, letting out a laugh that Twilight joined in.
Sunset crawled under the covers; Twilight following soon after. Sunset lifted her arm up into the air and motioned her head to Twilight to basically say 'come here'. Twilight moved over and rested her head on Sunset's chest, placing her hands on Sunset's stomach.
Sunset snaked her arm around Twilight and squeezed her tight, kissing her head.
"I'm so glad I met you,"
"I'm glad I met you too," Twilight spoke tiredly, letting out a yawn. She wanted to say more but she was tired and in a very comfortable position so she fell asleep almost instantly, a small smile of her lips as she slept.
Sunset noticed that Twilight was asleep already and sighed softly, closing her eyes.
"Goodnight, Sparky,"
*Flashback End*
Twilight had seen a side to Sunset that she didn't even think she had. Under that tough girl exterior, Sunset was a sensitive soul that just wanted to be loved. Twilight cuddled up to Sunset more, nuzzling her face into the taller girls neck. She assumed Sunset felt that as the arm around her tightened. She looked up to see that Sunset had a smile on her lips; assuming that Sunset was just pretending to be asleep at this point. Twilight grinned mischievously, blowing a raspberry into Sunset's neck.
Sunset tried to stifle her laugh but couldn't hold it for long, bursting out into laughter as she tried to push Twilight off her.
"Okay, okay you got me, I'm up, I'm up!"
"I could tell. You are awful at fake sleeping,"
"Yeah, apprently so," Sunset chuckled as she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes. She began to push herself up, Twilight taking that as a hint to remove herself from Sunset.
"Did you sleep well?"
"Better than I have in a while," Twilight replied with happy sigh, crossing her legs as she watch Sunset yawn and strech. Twilight raised an eyebrow at the noises Sunset made as she woke herself up and snorted, Sunset glanced over at her and narrowed her eyes slightly.
"What?"
"It's like watching a zombie come to life,"
"Ha ha, fuck you,"
"You wish,"
"Oh you're not wrong there~" Sunset purred, letting a growl erupt from inside her throat. Twilight let out a breath that was a little too breathless causing Sunset to smirk.
"What's the matter, Sparky? Cat got your tounge?"
"I actually hate you," Twilight grumbled, crossing her arms over her chest in a huff and looking away from Sunset. Sunset crawled over to her and tilted her head downwards to try and look at Twilight.
"C'mon babe, you know you could never hate me,"
Twilight pursed her lips and shifted her eyes to look at Sunset briefly before looking away again. She tried her best to 'ignore' her girlfriend but out of the corner of her eye she could see Sunset doing puppy eyes. Goddamn puppy eyes! Twilight looked at Sunset fully and saw the puppy eyes get wider.
She gave up and kissed Sunset on the nose, shaking her head as she smiled.
"How on earth you managed to get me to cave with puppy eyes, I'll never wrap my head around,"
"It's because I'm just so darn cute,"
"No...no it can't be that," Twilight pondered, tapping a finger to her chin. Twilight glanced to Sunset and saw her with a really bored look on her face. Twilight just grinned and lifted up her hand, which was balled into a fist. She made a winding motion and slowly, her middle finger started to lift up.
"Twilight, don't you-" Sunset stopped as she saw that Twilight's 'machine' had finished and the book worm was currently flipping the bird at her.
Twilight looked at her finger and let out a mock gasp, holding her spare hand to her chest in fake suprise.
"Oh my goodness, I had no idea it would do that!"
"Woooow," Sunset shook her head, rubbing her temples "You're worse than me,"
"Perhaps," Twilight just smiled innocently. Sunset glanced at her clock and started to push herself out of bed, scratching her bed.
"How tolerant are you of heavy music this early in the morning?" Sunset asked, looking at Twilight over her shoulder. Twilight smirked and leaned back on her hands.
"Do your worst,"
"God I knew liked you for a reason," Sunset said happily before turning to her smart speaker "Play Kerrang! Radio,"
"Playing Kerrang! Radio," The speaker responded, a song, that was about midway, began and Sunset and Twilight just turned to each as if they just knew they both knew the song. Both girls waited for the right moment before yelling the same thing.
"Of Reckoning!"
Sunset began to headbang along to the song, Twilight leaping to her feet and joining in as well as both of them sang along while getting themselves ready. The Speaker was loud so when Twilight went to get changed in the bathroom she could still hear the music.
"Sparky, are you almost done? I need to shower," Sunset asked, knocking on the bathroom door lightly.
"Yeah, coming out now," Twilight responded, unlocking the door and coming out in the same clothes she wore last night.
Sunset took a step closer to the girl and placed her hands on Twilight's hips before leaning down to place a kiss on her cheek.
"Thanks,baby,"
"You know, I really like the pet names," Twilight whispered into Sunset's ear, nipping at it and smirking when she saw Sunset visably shiver.
"Don't make our first time be in the shower, Sparky,"
"I know you wouldn't do something so crude though, would you babe?"
Sunset looked at her girlfriend and bit her lip before shaking her head and smiling gently.
"Of course I wouldn't,"
"Go shower, you smell like a horses ass,"
"First of all, that's a lie and second, that's just fucking rude, wait to ruin a tender moment," Sunset snorted, walking into the bathroom but not before bopping Twilight on the head. Sunset closed the door to the bathroom before Twilight flopped on Sunset's bed with a smile, hearing the shower begin to run.
She had been on cloud nine since last night; it all felt like a dream. She knew Sunset cared about her dearly and vise versa. She was everything Twilight wanted in a partner..but it scared her how fast she was falling. She didn't want to stop it, not by a long shot, but she knew this feeling and how quickly it was happening meant she was 10x more likely to get hurt if everything, somehow, goes to shit.
She shook her head and tried to not think about it, turning her head towards Sunset's phone and the speaker. Thinking hard about it for a moment, she got up and grabbed Sunset's phone before walking over to the bathroom door. She breathed deep and knocked on the door lightly.
"Sunset?"
"Hello!" Sunset responded over the sound of water.
"Um..I was wondering if I could just pick some music to play on your phone, from Spotify or something, whats your phone passcode,"
"0508" Sunset replied without hesitation. Twilight's eyes became the size of tennis balls. Sunset just..blindly gave her the passcode to her phone.
"You're just giving me your passcode? Just like that?" Twilight asked, her head against the door. She heard the water stop running.
"I have nothing to hide, Sparky," Sunset said, drying her hair as best she could without a hairdryer before wrapping a towel around her body and walking over to the door; opening it. Twilight stumbled forward slightly due to the door opening suddenly and looked at at Sunset, still in shock over the passcode to even notice that she was just in a towel.
"Timber never gave me his and we dated for almost a year,"
"Then maybe he was hiding something," Sunset shurgged, walking over to her cupboard and rummaging around for something to wear.
"Really? Does not sharing a passcode to your phone mean you're hiding something?"
"Not always. People are entilted to their privacy. I wish I had that with Adagio but I still gave her my passcode because I trusted her. Look how that worked out," Sunset grumbled the last part, shoving the clothes she wanted to wear on the floor "Could you turn around for a moment while I get changed,"
Twilight raised an eyebrow before she finally realised that Sunset was just in a towel. Her blush reached her ears and she quickly spun around, putting her head into her hands and mumbling to herself.
"You've only just clocked I'm basically naked?"
"Shut up, I was still baffled that you gave me your passcode without second thought,"
"Like I said, nothing to hide. Well I'm currently hiding my very very naked body to you right now but we don't count that,"
"Why did I agree to go out with you again?" Twilight groaned, shaking her head and dragging her face in her hands.
Sunset snorted as she tightened her belt around her pants, thus finishing her outfit off.
"Who knows, babe. I'm a nightmare but you agreed to date me so this whole thing sounds like a you problem,"
"I've made a dreadful mistake,"
"That you have," Sunset laughed as she adjusted the rest of her outfit "You can turn around now,"
Twilight ignored her and walked over to the blinds, pulling on the string to open them and gasping.
"What? What is it?! Whats happened?!" Sunset paniced, running over to the window and looking out it franiclly. It took a moment for her to realise why Twilight gasped, her lips curling into a huge smile.
"It's snowing!" Sunset cried happily, skipping back over to her cupboard. Twilight's eyes followed her and she let out a short laugh.
"Did you actually just skip?"
"Fuck off. It's Christmas time, my favourite holiday, and it's finally decided to snow so forgive me for being a tad enthusiastic,"
"Oh my god, I've been baited,"
"What do you mean?" Sunset asked from inside cupboard, searching for her winter coat.
"When we first met I thought you were this hot biker chick but you're actually just a cute cinnemon roll with the body heat thats equivalent to the sun,"
"Pretty sure you just called me a radiator," Sunset mumbled, standing up finally while slipping on her winter trench coat.
"Do you have another coat? I have one in my dorm room but not here.."
"Oh! Yeah, one second," Sunset scanned her cupboard quickly and pulled out a winter trench coat similar to her own but in dark purple "Here you are, it might be a bit longer on you but should still fit all the same,"
Twilight put it on and instantly felt snug, hugging the coat around herself while subtly trying to inhale the scent. It smelt of Sunset; she felt comforted by that.
"I have class from 1 til 5, what time do you have class today?" Sunset asked, brushing herself off.
"3 to 6, you shall be rid of me for a good while today,"
"Don't remind me, my heart breaks even thinking about it," Sunset wrapped an arm around Twilight's shoulders and kissed the top of her head, giving her girlfriend a squeeze.
"Do you want to do something after we are both finished?"
Sunset pondered for a moment before turning her head to look down at Twilight.
"I've been dying to see the new Spiderman film. Into the Spiderverse? Would you be willing to see that with me?"
Twilight could only smile.
"It just so happens that I'm dying to see that film too. So I'd love to,"
"Awesome! Will you be staying the night again?" Sunset said, making sure she had everything. Her heart sank a little when Twilight shook her head.
"I wish I could but I have to finish off my essays before the holiday's. They are almost done but I just need to make sure it's all correct and up to scratch,"
"I understand," Sunset offered a understanding smile, letting Twilight out the door, of the dorm room, first before following her out "Can I atleast walk you to your dorm room so you can pick up your stuff before class?"
"I'd be honoured if you did," Twilight mock bowed, both girls laughing. They arrived at the front door of the dorm room building and saw the brisk weather outside, deciding to hold hands as Sunset didn't own a pair of gloves and Twilight did, but they were in her room.
Breathing in and out, they faced the weather together while wearing huge smiles of their lips.
Class can be fun, sometimes
Twilight sat in class, bored out of her mind, with her head on her hand as she looked on at the board at the front of the classroom. Most of what she was reading was infomation she already knew, hence why she started her essays ealier than normal. Her eyes shifted from the board to her phone as it lit up.
Picking it up, she smiled slightly when she saw it was a message from Sunset. She opened the message and saw it was a video that she had sent. Twilight grabbed her earphones from her, well Sunset's, jacket pocket and plugged them into her phone, putting them in and clicking on the video.
The book worm had to stiffle her giggle as she watched the video but it did make her smile grow larger.
The video showed Sunset lipsyncing to the chorus of the song Never Had A Dream Come True by British band, S Club 7 while she had her goggles on her head and oil marks on her face. Twilight shook her head lightly at her girlfriends antics. She was honestly a bigger nerd than her sometimes and it baffled her that someone that hot could also be the cutest person ever.
Twilight thought for a moment before typing her responce.
"You're honestly such a dork, "
She was about to put her phone back down until she saw that Sunset was typing.
"Yeah, but I'm your dork <3 "
"Unfortunatly, "
"Wow, rude. I pour my heart out to you through a dramatic lip sync and I get bullied for it, "
"You chose the cheesest song by the cheesest band of all time, "
"You're welcome, "
"Who are you talking to?" A voice next to her spoke up, Twilight turned to see a girl she didn't recognise.
"I'm sorry?" Twilight asked, a bit confused as to why this random girl thought it was any of her business who she was talking to.
The girl rubbed the back of her neck and looked down at the notebook on her desk.
"S-Sorry, I didn't mean to come across as nosey. I'm new here and making friends has never really been my strong point."
Twilight nodded slowly before putting her phone down.
"I see. I used to be the same..until recently actually. My name is Twilight Sparkle,"
"Moon Dancer. It's nice to meet you, Twilight Sparkle," Moon Dancer smiled widely, extending a hand out to Twilight. Twilight couldn't help but smile back, shaking the girls hand.
"Lovely to meet you too. And, to answer your question, I was talking to.." Twilight paused for a hot second. She didn't know this girls views on gay realtionships "..my friend,"
"Must be nice," Moon Dancer mumbled, flopping down on the desk and putting her head in her hands. Twilight looked on at the girl and frowned.
This girl reminded her a lot of herself. Isolated and alone with no easy way of making friends. She chewed on her lip for a moment before turning in her chair slightly to look fully at the other girl.
"Would you like to spend your break with me?"
Moondancer's eyes shifted to Twilight, narrowing slightly as she searched for a sign of pity. Her eyes moved back to look at the board.
"I don't need your pity, Miss Sparkle,"
"Who says it was out of pity?"
"I can see it in your eyes."
Twilight pursed her lips before shrugging.
"Okay then. Rejecting any form of friendship, even if it starts out as pity, isn't going to put you on the fast track for making friends. Trust me,"
Twilight looked out the window with a sigh. That may of come across harsher than she wanted it to but she learnt the hard way that making friends is no walk in the park, so she needed to give this girl some tough love so she could find out for herself too.
Her eyes lingered on her reflection for a moment before she noticed the reflection of Moondancer just staring at her. She held the gaze before looking at the girl over her shoulder.
"Had a change of heart?"
"Potentially,"
Twilight just smiled as she heard the bell go off.
"Let's go and get some lunch then,"
Moon Dancer struggled for a moment but managed a smile before standing up with Twilight and following her out of the lecture hall.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
"So you're dating Sunset Shimmer?" Moon Dancer asked before taking another bite out of her sandwich. Twilight nodded as she continued chewing, looking out over the football field while both girls sat on the bleachers.
"Yep. I said she was just a friend ealier because I..didn't know where you stood when it came to gay rights," Twilight responded after she had swallowed her mouthful of food.
Moon Dancer shook her head and let out a sigh.
"It's okay. It does amaze me that people, in this day and age, can still be so narrow minded,"
"Right?" Twilight said with a mouthful, taking a sip of water from her bottle before turning her head towards Moon Dancer with a smile "Great minds think alike,"
Moon Dancer looked into Twilight's eyes for a moment and saw no sign of pity anywhere. She offered a smile back before looking back over the football field.
"And, it doesn't bother you that she's practically a celebrity?"
"Not even remotely. When she first came into the diner, I had no idea who she was so I can confidently say I'm not with her for her image or her money," Twilight joked which cause Moon Dancer to giggle, putting her hand over her mouth to try and stifle more giggling.
When Moon Dancer recovered, she looked over to the other side of the field and tapped Twilight on the shoulder before pointing in the direction she was looking.
"Isn't that Sunset over there?"
Twilight looked over and, indeed, there Sunset was, with her earphones in and sketching in, what seemed to be, an art book.
"Let's go an introduce you to her," Twilight said, grabbing Moon Dancer's hand and dragging her over before she could protest.
When Twilight walked up to Sunset she called her name but Sunset didn't seem to realise, still nose deep into art book.
Twilight tried again. And once more before she finally yelled.
"Sunset!"
"Gah!" Sunset cried, losing her balance on the bench she was sat on and falling backwards onto her back.
"Oh god, Sunset I'm so sorry! Are you alright?" Twilight quickly went to Sunset's side, helping her sit back up.
"Huh? Oh yeah I'm fine, Sparky," Sunset smiled in a daze before it hit her who she was talking to, jolting up and trying to hide her art book in her bag quickly "Twilight! Uh, hi, hey, whats up?"
Twilight and Moon Dancer exchanged a quizzled look before looking back at Sunset with single raised eyebrows.
"What are you hiding?" Twilight asked curiously, her arms now folded over her chest.
"Hiding? I'm not hiding anything! Maybe you're hiding something!" Sunset tried to retaliate only to sigh and cave under Twilight, and her odd new friends, glare "I was, uh, drawing you and I didn't want to show you in case you though I was being super weird.."
Sunset dug into her backpack and fished out her art book, handing it to Twilight before streching her hand out to her new friend.
"Hello, since I've managed to screw up first introductions I might as well just introduce myself. I'm Sunset Shimmer,"
Moon Dancer chuckled and shook Sunset's hand with a smile.
"Lead singer of The Rainbooms, I know who you are, Sunset Shimmer. My name is Moon Dancer,"
Sunset went red slightly, removing her hand from Moon Dancer's and scratched the back of her head.
"Heh, yeah that's me. I often forget that people actually know I'm in a band, when I'm not preforming I often forget myself too,"
While Sunset and Moon Dancer chatted away, Twilight had her back to them while she flipped through Sunset's art book. She landed on a drawing of herself in her work uniform. She didn't see Sunset drawing when she was sat at the table which meant...
..She drew this from muscle memory.
Twilight ran a finger over the drawing and couldn't stop the smile that was making its way onto her lips. She took in every detail and how amazing and realistic the drawing was.
She turned around and walked up to Sunset, completely catching the red head off guard as she captured her lips in a passionate kiss.
Moon Dancer coughed awkwardly and averted her eyes before Sunset decided to kiss back, only to pull away and smirk down at her girlfriend.
"Now, what was that for, Sparky?" Sunset asked, her hands on Twilight's hips as she looked down into her girlfriend's eyes. Twilight just slipped a hand to Sunset's cheek and smiled lovingly up at her.
"For being such a sweetheart, and , for my drawing,"
"Your drawing? What do you-" Sunset asked before it hit her what Twilight meant, chuckling and kissing her nose "No problem,"
Both girls pulled away from each other's embrace and couldn't help but snort at how Moon Dancer was awkwardly looking up at the sky, bouncing back and forth on her heels.
"You're safe now, Moon Dancer," Sunset said with a smile, sitting back down on the bench. Moon Dancer looked over her shoulder first to see if the girl was just pulling on her leg, fully turning to face the two girls when she saw it was, in fact, safe.
She glanced at her watch and her face twisted. She coughed to get both girls attention before tapping the the glass on her watch.
"I hate to break up a tender moment, but we need to get back to class, Twilight,"
Twilight raised an eyebrow before looking at her phone and jumping in the spot.
"Oh shoot! We're going to be late!"
Twilight turned to Sunset and looked at her awkwardly to which the singer just waved her hand and smiled warmly at the book worm.
"Go, don't be late on my account,"
"Thank you. See you later still?" Twilight asked, preparing herself to run to the bleachers with Moon Dancer for her backpack that she left there.
"For sure. Now go!" Sunset said with urgency, waving her hands at both girls to get them to run.
Sunset couldn't help but let out a short laugh as she watched Twilight and Moon Dancer sprint to the bleachers, quickly grab their backpacks and, almost, fall off the bleachers before they were finally out of sight. Sunset sighed and realised she should probably start heading to her leature too, reaching for her backpack only to realise something, although it was too late.
"Ah damnit. She took my art book,"
Author's Note
While I'm writing this story, I am also writing new chapters for Shadow in the Dark although I start University again so I apologise for slow chapters for both stories!
