The Olympian Chronicles

By Derpymuffin24

NOTE: This story takes place between the end of The Last Olympian and the beginning of The Lost Hero. I don't own any of these characters or ideas, mainly because you can't own ideas. This is my first story, so it probably won't be the best, but please be nice.

"Wake up, Seaweed Brain."

I groggily opened my eyes and looked around. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. The broken fountain was still there, Tyson was snoring in the next bunk. "Who's there," I asked, "and what do you want?"

Someone grabbed my shoulder. I spun around, and there's Annabeth, holding her magical Yankees cap and grinning. "Ready to go?"

"Go where?"

She rolled her eyes, "the disturbance in Jersey, remember? A manticore was sighted, and Grover said it looked like Thorn."

I shuddered. Some of the monsters from the battle with Kronos had already been reborn, and we were given the job of tracking them down. Not exactly what you wanted to do after only a few weeks break. "I guess," I muttered, "let's get going."

When Blackjack dropped us off, I told him to stay alert, just in case something happened. Ya sure, boss? he asked. "This is Thorn we're talking about," I said uneasily, "anything could happen."

Annabeth motioned for me to shut up, and we started sneaking through the streets. "Where are we," I asked, "and why would Thorn be here? He hates cities."

"This city has no name. It's a place hidden by the Mist," she said, "and therefore, the perfect place for a rogue monster to hide. Be ready. We might find more than we bargained for."

We walked for a while until we could see a dark shack in the distance, one that when you looked straight at it, it was invisible, but you could see it out of the corner of your eye. "So I'm guessing he's in there," I spoke first.

"Yeah," Annabeth said, "but something feels... I don't know... wrong. Grover would never go in there! Why would we get a letter saying he did?"

"Not sure," I replied, "but it looks like a heavy protection charm is on it."

We walked toward the shack, but my mind was elsewhere. I'd been having dreams lately, which is never good for a demigod. The world would flicker, sometimes normal, sometimes colorful and cartoony. For some reason, in the cartoony flicker, people would appear as colorful horses with tattoos on their flanks. I haven't told anyone, not even my mother or Annabeth. I do NOT need to look crazy yet.

When we got to the shack, the door blew open. "Stay here," I told Annabeth, and crept inside to get a better look.

The door immediately slammed behind me. A gust picked up in the room, and I fell to the floor. When I looked up, Ares was standing over me.

"So I guess you would want to know why I've summoned you here, eh punk?" he asked cruelly.

I remained silent and just stared at the floor. He grabbed my hair and pulled me to look at him, "Answer the question, runt."

And still I did not speak.

He laughed and threw me to the side. "I'll just tell you anyway," he sneered, "Zeus wants me to test you. The next few weeks will either be the best time of your life, or the worst, depending on the choices you will make. I've been given the authority to change this world drastically. To a world where Zeus is not yet king. I tell you now, boy. You will have to choose a side in a three way war, and your sense of self loyalty will finally be put to the test. The dreams I've been giving you are simply the truth in the world I have prepared. Find your friends, and you may prevail. Fail, and you will die, and no one will remember you."

And he disappeared in a puff of smoke. The world began to rumble, and Annabeth finally broke into the room. When she saw me, she started screaming. I looked at my hands, and they were turning sea green, just like my eyes. She was turning grey before my eyes, and I blacked out.

I woke in a field of grass. My whole body hurt. Standing above me was... a pony? Obviously female, she was yellow with pink hair and soft eyes. She had the same color eyes as me, sea green, and she spoke softly, "Are you alright?"

I looked at her, "you... you're a pony?"

"Yes?" she answered blushing a bit, "Does that bother you? If it bothers you I can leave, but does it bother you? Wait a minute... you are too, why would you ask that? Am I weird looking?"

"Uhhh..." I stared blankly for a moment before passing out.

When I woke up, my vision was blurry, as if I were looking through a bubble. When my vision sharpened, I could see the yellow pony from before. She was talking to someone. "No, Angel," she whispered, "we have to take him to Twilight. She would understand this better than we ever could. We can't just keep him locked up!"

I sat up, my senses returning. I was sitting in some rough straw. I could see now I was in some sort of cottage. It smelled like vegetables and little animals. The yellow pony turned to me and smiled, "So the sleepyhead finally wakes up?"

"Uh, yeah," I said sleepily, "how long have I been out?"

"Only a couple of hours."

Phew. That could have been bad. Ares had warned me not to waste any time. If this world was a mirror of my world, that could mean that some things I had defeated could just as easily be still at large in this world. "So... what's this about taking me to someone?" I asked.

"Oh, just my friend," she smiled, "she's an expert on pretty much everything. In fact, we should probably get over there pretty quickly, she might have errands, well, if it's okay with you..." she turned away, blushing.

"Of course it's okay!" I said, "Why wouldn't it be? I need to find my friends quickly, or something terrible is going to happen."

"What?" she stared at me blankly.

Oh gods, why did I open my mouth? "Well, before I explain, can I know your name?"

She smiled gently, "of course. I'm Fluttershy, who are you?"

"My name is..."

Everything froze. The wind stopped, the animals stopped moving. Suddenly, another pony stood in Fluttershy's place. Obviously male, he had blazing red eyes, black fur like leather, and a flowing mane the color of dark meat. "Percy, there are rules to this game."

"Ares," I said, "What are you doing here?"

"I'm simply here to explain dimensional balance," he said with a wolfish grin, "Rule number one. You can't use your human name here. You are Trident in this world. Rule two: Seven of your friends are in this world. You have seven days before the war starts. By the way, just a hint, in this dimension, one of them is dead. Rule three: In order to find your friends, you must befriend the pony they represent. When they trust you, their form will flicker, and your friend will be released from their body."

"Why would you tell me this?" I asked, "Why not just guaruntee I fail by not telling me rules?"

"Because I'm here to test you." With that, he left.

Time unfroze. I realized I had moved to the other side of the room. "How'd you get over there?" Fluttershy looked confused.

"My name is Trident. I need to find my friends, Fluttershy. My friends have been sealed inside other ponies in this world. Can you help me?"

She looked kind of scared now, "w-what? I'm sorry... I can't help you there. Maybe Pinkie Pie can help, she knows everypony... If you need a place to stay, you're welcome to stay here, but please don't ask me to talk to ponies... I'm very shy..."

"No problem, can we get to your friends house?"

"S-sure."

When we arrived, there was a purple pony with a streak in her hair running around looking at books. "Spike! Where is that dragon? SPIIIIIKE?"

She looked at us and smiled in relief, "Hello! You must be Fluttershy's friend. How can I help you?" She blew a loose strand of hair off her face and frowned, "What is your cutie mark supposed to be?"

I looked behind me and realized there was a tattoo of a trident on my flank, "Um, I'm good at controlling water?"

She gasped, everything her magic was holding fell, "You mean... you're one of the only ponies in Equestria who still know how to use aquamency?

"Erm, sure."

"Oh my gosh!" She squealed, "You have GOT to show me!"

It's going to be a long day, I thought.
