The Olympian Chronicles (Crossover)
The Princess
Previous ChapterNext ChapterCelestia demanded that we would speak, but she needed to rest overnight. So I got the next best thing, a warm royalty bed. The room was magic, and it could look like anything my heart desired. I was feeling a tad homesick, so I asked the room to look like my room from my mom's apartment.
Everything was exact, the fire escape on the left hand side, the ketchup stain on the bed. I just wasn't satisfied. I tried asking for the Poseidon cabin. Again, I was shocked by the detail: the bronze hippocampi, the slight ocean breeze that always wafted through the room, even my old chocolate wrappers under the bed were there.
"I trust everything is to your liking?"
I turn around and see another alicorn, this one midnight blue with billowing hair that looked like the stars. "Yeah," I say, "have we met?"
She did look familiar, "No," she answered uncertainly, "I am princess Luna of the Night. While my sister rests, she asked me to answer any questions you may have."
I smile, I'm finally going to get some answers, "Well, my name's Trident. First question: what was that monster doing in such a grand city?"
"Trident..." she wondered aloud, then cleared her throat, "The monster you saw was an automaton, created by one of the lead blacksmiths in Fillydelphia. It was a prototype defense mechanism, created to eliminate the need for magical shields around the Tartarus area. As per usual with prototypes, something had to go wrong. Its processing unit overheated, and its logic center shut down. It rampaged through a good part of equestria, but we managed to seal it inside of the walls of Canterlot."
She took a look around the room, and her gaze settled on the hippocampi, "Trident, will you please explain to me something. How do you know of the sea ponies?"
"The hippocampi?" I'm taken aback at this, "a long time ago, I met a bunch of them with my half-brother Tyson..."
She looked really surprised, "Oh... OH... He plays a dangerous game..." she thought to herself, "Well, just go get some sleep, young colt."
"Wait!" I said, "I have more questions!"
But she had already left.
My audience with Luna was over.
As usual, demigod dreams haunted my sleep.
I saw Annabeth, Clarisse, and Nico this time. They were in the process of changing into ponies.
Annabeth became a unicorn. Her coat was pale, like Fluttershy's, but more vibrant, somehow. Her hair was still blonde and curly, but it blended into her coat. Her eyes were the same stormy gray, and her cutie mark was a book.
Nico became a strange sort of pegasus. I had seen a couple in town, but this one had sharp, bladed wings, obviously built for cutting through rock and earth. His coat was black, like his sword, which hung on his side where others would have a saddlebag. His eyes were a crystallized form of olive green. His cutie mark was a bone.
Clarrise was a little different. She was more of a war horse, earth pony style with broad features and strong muscles. Her hair was its usual stringy brown, her coat red as a tomato. A spear was on her flank.
The next part was very strange. The ponies dissapeared, and Apollo and Artemis appeared in their place. "Percy, everything will be all right soon. It will all make sense tomorrow." They said in perfect harmony.
WAIT! I wanted to call, but they were gone. The dream faded to black.
"Wake up, Trident."
I half expected to see Annabeth again. No such luck, this time it was Twi.
"Ah, the sleepy hero wakes," she smirks, and pushes me out of bed, "Come on, the princess is waiting."
I don't know what I expected of the throne room, but it was amazing. White marble pillars across the room, shiny curtains on each of the many windows, and an amazing glass flooring with various colorful stones underneath that gave the room a vibrant feel to it.
"Trident, how great it is for you to join us," Celestia spoke from her throne, "Twilight, please leave us."
"Yes, ma'am."
When she was gone, Celestia turned to me and smiled, "Do you know who I am, Percy?"
I stood there, open-mouthed. She knows my name. That means she must be a...
A brilliant light engulfed her. I looked away, and when I turned back, a muscular twenty-year old with blond hair and gold eyes was smiling at me.
I kneeled, "Lord Apollo."
He laughed, "Took you long enough. I was about to start writing a poem about how slow you were."
I shuddered, I've heard his poetry before, "What do you need to tell me?"
"A great war is coming between the Big Three for our throne. In this world, the sun and moon are rulers. Which means there must be two monarchs. Zeus wants to be in charge here, too. This world won't last much longer, as it was created as a test, but none of the gods who weren't involved know that. You must find your friends. I can't tell you all of them, but my vision that I sent last night showed you three to start with."
I smiled. I have somewhere to start!
He changed back to Celestia, "Go back to Ponyville! Find the three you need to start with, and they will each know another that was changed. The seventh will be your greatest challenge. Good luck, Percy. I must go raise the sun."
With that she disappeared, and I went back to see Twi. "Did you learn anything?" she asked.
"Yes," I answered, "We need to go back to Ponyville to find my friends."
