The Prophecy

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

After a few hours, I managed to convey to Twi pretty much everything that had happened. I figured that if I could tell anyone, it could be her. She took it pretty well. "So... you're from another dimension, your name isn't actually Trident, and you have seven friends who were brought here with you."

"Yeah," I said, "that pretty much sums it up."

"Well, what is your real name?"

"I can't tell you. It's against the rules."

If anyone could have the look of disapproval, she could. I felt bad, but I didn't want to break Ares's rules. "Can you take me back to the library? I want to learn a bit about equestrian monsters. That way I can know what I'm up against."

"Sure," She exclaimed, obviously happy to get home, "just sit tight, and we'll teleport together!"

And for the second time so far, the world went black.

When we got back, I got to reading. It was rather confusing, but my dyslexia didn't effect me in this world.

As I'm reading, Twi brings me coffee and lemonade frequently. Each time, she gives me a slight smile and then goes back to what she was doing. I'm just about to give up on this when I read something peculiar.

----Prophecies and Predictions----

In equestrian history, there has only been one prophecy to not be fulfilled. This prophecy is as follows:

The seven shall breach the temporal veil,

And save many things, in end just to fail

The seventh will hide from the first one's seek

But only to find they're more than just meek.

It didn't sound like the prophecies from my world. In my world, they were vague, yet not vague at the same time. This one just doesn't make sense at all. It's poorly written, and sounds like something out of a children's show. However, it's painfully clear that it's written for me. And what was this about failing?

I walk around to clear my head. I'd read about way too many monsters, and then broke my head on that prophecy. Was this why Twi was anxious?

I see her at her desk in her study. "Did you know about this?" I say, holding up the book.

She paled, "Yes..."

"Is this why you were skeptical about my story?"

"Yes."

"Can you help me find my friends or not?" I snapped. I shouldn't be mean, but Twi had been keeping information from me!

"That's the thing... I feel like I'm connected to this somehow. As if your story pulls to me specifically."

WAIT. What if... No. No way.

"Annabeth? Are you in there?"

As soon as I say it, Twilight starts to glow grey, as if storm clouds had flowed into her body. She split in two, but not in a physical sense. Two Twilights stood before me, but the second changed even further. Her coat became pale, like Fluttershy's, but more vibrant, somehow. Her hair changed to blonde and curly, but it blended into her coat. Her eyes were now stormy gray, and her cutie mark was a book.

"P-Percy..."

She passed out.

When she came to, Twi was taking care of her. She tried to speak, but Twi smiled and shushed her. She turned to me, "She'll be fine. Just give her a while. I've seen magical merges before, and they do alter the mind quite a bit."

"Well, in the mean time, is there anypony who knows pretty much everypony ever?"

She laughed, "You HAVE to be talking about Pinkie Pie. I'm still a tad mad at her for giving me that joke cookbook, so you'll have to go yourself."

I have no idea what she's talking about, but you know how ADHD goes. I walk out the door and look around. I see three young fillies playing in the trees, a light gray mail pony shoving letters in a mailbox while eating a muffin, and a blue box over near the park. I decide to head into town.

As I approach town, something runs into me from the side, and I fall over.

"OHMYGOSHIAMSOSORRYLETMEGETTHATFORYOUOHWAITYOUWERENOTCARRYINGANYTHINGAREYOUOKAY" I hear.

"What?" I said, thoroughly confused.

"I said," She says, "Are you okay?"

My vision clears, and I see a worried pink blob standing over me... Oh wait... that's another pony. I shake myself off and offer my hand, "I'm Trident."

"Hi! My name's Pinkie Pie! WAITAMINUTEYOU'RENEWOMG."

"Uhhh, what?"

She stared at me for a moment. "You're getting a party."

"What," I mutter, "are you even talking about?"

She grabs me by the hoof and starts dragging me across the street to a store. "SUGARCUBE CORNER," the sign says.

"We're going to have SO much fun together," she says with a strange smile, "I can't wait to introduce you to everypony at the party."

What have I gotten myself into?
