The Sirens

(Sorry for the short chapter, I've been busy, expect a better chapter next time.)

Pinkie Pie dragged me into the store, Sugarcube Corner. Once we were inside, her smile melted. "What are you doing here, Percy?"

"WHAT?" I asked, suddenly alarmed, "how do you know who I am?"

"I know everything, silly," she laughed, "but that's not the point. Are you here because of... the end?"

"I think so..." I replied, "Ares said something about it, I think."

"Good," She smiled in relief, "come with me."

She lifted a cake and pushed a button underneath it. The fridge swung open without a sound, revealing a dark spiral staircase. She motioned for me to come with her.

As we were descending she asked, "Do you know about the Dwarf Pegasi?"

"Can't say that I do."

"Well, they're a secret race of pegasi that took to digging and drilling with their wings rather than flying. It's a rather interesting tale, but we'll get to that later. For now, let me introduce you to my splits."

I had no idea what she meant by that, but I followed anyway.

We came to a small circular room. On the other end was a rusty door, and on either side were two earth ponies chained to the walls that looked disturbingly like Pinkie. The only difference was their facial expressions and cutie marks.

The one on the left was smiling, but it was a cold smile. She studied me as a student studies a frog before dissecting it. Her cutie mark was baloons that looked a bit like a stomach.

The one on the right was a bit different. She looked at me with a sultry look, as if I were the only thing in the world she could possibly desire. It made me uncomfortable, but I will admit she was a bit alluring. Her cutie mark was simply black baloons.

"Don't look at them too long," Pinkie warned, "they'll alter your mind. They came from me, but they are Thought Sirens. If you focus on them, you become like them. The one on the left is Pinkamena, and the one on the right is Kinkie Pie."

"L-let's just keep moving."

Pinkamena looked at me, "You know, I can see you wanting to run from your fears. The only problem is, we're already inside of you. We represent your instincts."

Kinkie smiled in that strange way, "You know you'll never escape us. Might as well just... give yourself over."

They were starting to make sense... No, wait. They're getting to me. "Come on," I said.

We crossed the rusty door and went down another staircase. This time, we were both silent. When we reached bottom, it smelled of earth and fire. It was quite hot, but I felt cold. The Thought Sirens had gotten in my head. I didn't want them to, but they managed to tear my mind.

"Hello," spoke a voice from behind us.

I turned around, and there was a dark purple pegasus with razor-sharp wings. He was obviously almost blind, because his green eyes looked dead. He had dark hair like Luna's with a crimson stripe down the middle.

"My name is Diggy. Are you a friend or are you dead?"

Pinkie spoke up, "it's me, Pinkie."

Diggy's face lit up, "Splendid. I shall take you to the black castle so that you may converse with the Dwarven King."

"Why does he talk funny?" I asked Pinkie.

She stopped me there, "Show some respect. Diggy is a highly skilled expert in mining operations here, and he's the King's son."

"Well, whatever happens, I'm sure it will be interesting..."
