"Mommy, mommy, look what daddy and I made!"
It was a warm summer's afternoon, the sun just now beginning to lower over the Fillydelphia cityscape. In the calmer suburbs of the city, a trio of pegasi lived in a small cottage, living their lives like every other family around them.
The young colt, being around the age of 5, was scampering through his home's living room and into the kitchen, where his mother had been cooking dinner. His name was Astro Wolf, and at the moment, he was still a blank flank.
"What is it, darling?" the mother asked softly, looking down at her son.
Astro beamed. "Come look in the living room!" he then quickly darted away, prancing excitedly.
The mare nodded, following her foal into the other room. As she entered the room, the colt's father was laying on the floor, with building bricks littering the floor. But what truly stood out was the structure they had assembled in the center of the room. A nearly perfect model of the royal castle of Canterlot stood amidst all of the strewn about bricks.
"Oh my stars... It looks absolutely amazing, boys!" the mare clapped her hooves together in glee. "It looks just like the real thing!"
The father smiled and sat up, ruffling his son's mane. "Well, we were trying to decide what to make, but it was our little Wolf who wanted to make the castle in Canterlot."
The young Astro's face was practically a glowing orb of excitement. "Look, mommy! I even made a princess Luna!!" he trotted over to her, holding what was clearly a pony-shaped creation, made from the same dark blues and blacks that made up the real princess's appearance. Of course, being made by a four year old, it certainly wasn't perfect. It had enough detail to be recognizable, though.
"It looks wonderful, honey!" she exclaimed, picking her son up and nuzzling him gently on the side of his neck. Giggling, the colt began squirming in her grasp, attempting in vain to wiggle free from his torture.
After several seconds, she finally released him, giggling softly as he dropped to his stomach, panting heavily from a short of breath.
"M-mom! You know I don't like that!" he pouted, soon sitting up and rubbing his cheeks with his forehooves, his wings fluttering at his sides a bit.
The mare just smiled and winked at her husband before turning for the kitchen. "Come on boys, you'd better get cleaned up! I just about finished your favorite meal! We have to celebrate for your father's new job!"
"That's right! Tonight is my first shift as the new night guard at that pizzeria," the older stallion nodded, using his wings to push the miscellaneous bricks into a single pile. He then grabbed the container and began scooping up the pieces.
"Daddy, will you promise to protect the ani... Animal..." Astro started, clearly struggling with his words.
"The animatronics?"
"Yeah! You'll keep them safe, right??" the colt asked, helping his father clean up the last bit of bricks.
Once finished with the clean up, the older pegasus lifted Astro onto his back, nodding. "Of course I will! I will do everything possible in order to protect your robot friends!"
"Okay, come on, boys! Dinner's ready!" the mother called to them, setting three plates of her delicious lasagna onto the table.
With huge, dorky smiles on their muzzles, and anxious to eat, Astro and his father trotted over to the table.
Once the sun had been lowered by Princess Celestia, the moon was soon raised to take its place. The silver, glistening light shined over the home, illuminating the room with a soft light.
"Daddy, can you please tell me one of your stories before you leave?"
The father sadly shook his head. "Not tonight, buddy... I have to be at work early in order to get ready and learn the basics of my new job..."
"Aww..." Astro huffed, wrapping his forehooves around his Power Pony Zapp plush and squeezing gently.
"But I'll tell you what. Tomorrow afternoon, after I get home and rested, we'll go see a movie. Just me and you!" the stallion sad with a smirk on his muzzle.
That certainly got Astro's attention. His ears perked up as he sat up, wide-eyed. "Can we go see the new Power Ponies movie?!"
His father smiled, ruffling his son's mane once more. "You bet my wing feathers we can!"
"Yay!! I'm so excited and I can hardly wait!!" he then squeezed his plush even harder, bouncing up and down in excitement.
A gentle hoof on his shoulder, however, ended his actions. His ears were then met with his mother's soft, but stern voice. "Now, now... You gotta get plenty of sleep first, mister... And you can't do that if your super duper hyper!"
"I know, I know, but I wanna go right now!" Astro said, letting out a loud huff as he slowly got back under his covers.
"I know you do, buddy, but it's too late tonight, and I have work. I'll be home before you wake up, okay?"
Astro let out a yawn, his eyelids slowly getting heavier by the second. "Okay, daddy. What... Whatever you say..."
With a soft smile, both parents gave their son a quick hug and kiss. Silently, they both left the room, closing his door.
Little did Astro know, this night is gonna be the night that changes his life forever.
The next morning seemed just like every other morning for Astro. He woke up to the beautiful sound of birds chirping outside, the sun shining brightly into his room.
With a quick yawn, the young bolt sat up, looking over at his wonderbolt poster. Smiling, he stood up and made his bed, trotting into the sunlight to stretch. He started by stretching his forelegs, one at a time, until view felt loose and relaxed. He then repeated with his hindlegs, sighing in satisfaction when one of his joints made an audible popping noise. Once finished, a certain, muffled sound caused his ears to twitch.
As he stood in silence, he noticed it sounded like somepony was sobbing. Curiously, he trotted over to his window, only to find that nopony was out there. That's when he noticed that it was coming from downstairs.
"Mom?" he called out, trotting up to his door. There was no answer, so he decided to slowly go downstairs, being as silent as possible.
The right that came before him upon entering the living room caught him off guard. Astro's mother was, indeed, the one creating the sobbing noises. She was sprawled out on the rug, laying on her stomach. Her wings hung loosely from her sides, resting against the floor, twitching ever so slightly. She had her muzzle buried into the ground, sounding like she was crying her heart out.
Next to one me her forelegs was a copy me that morning's news papers. Curious, he walked over to pick it up, but his hoofsteps must have registered with his mom, because she quickly sat up and pulled her son into her lap. Wrapping her hooves around him, she held him close, resting her head against the top of his own.
"M-mommy? Why are you crying? And where's daddy?" Astro asked, nervous and worried about his mother. "Is daddy still asleep?"
This caused his mother to sob a bit more. After a couple seconds, her sobs turned into audible words. "H-he... He isn't coming home, h-honey... Th-there was an accident with one of the r-robots... It... C-came to life and it... Killed him!!" she suddenly bursts into loud and chokes from sobs. She pressed her muzzle into her son's mane, hugging him tighter.
Astro just sat in his mother's lap, speechless as his young brain took time to process the information of his father's fate. A knock on their door jostled him from his shock.
"C-come in!" his mom choked, tears streaked down her cheeks.
Several of Astro's parents' friends came through the door, a saddened look on all of their muzzles. They all came over, comforting Astro and his mother. They stayed for a few hours until Astro and his mother were calmed down. Once they all left, he got another hug from his mother. He had some of his own friends over as well, trying to comfort him. After a bit, he just shut them out, wanting to be left alone. Not sure what to do, he sat on the floor and watched his mom.
"Honey, why don't you go hang in you're room for a bit? Mommy has some phone calls to make." she patted his head softly before trotting to the phone.
Other than at dinner time, Astro pretty much stayed in his room. His mom tucked him in later that evening, telling him it was going to be okay. Of course, the only thing on young Astro's mind was the fact that he would never hear one of his father's stories again.
Earlier in the day, his mother had offered to take him to the movies after dinner, but Astro quickly declined. He was afraid that he wouldn't be able to focus on the movie after what happened. It just wouldn't have been the same without his dad.
Astro laid in bed for what felt like hours. He just couldn't fall asleep, still in udder shock about what happened. After all, his father was killed by robots he called his friends!
After several hours, the colt did finally fall asleep. He didn't have a single dream, just blackness the entire night. When he did finally wake up, the sun was shining brightly through his window. The birds were chipping cheerfully, and he sat up, yawning deeply as he did his routine stretching. Walking over to his window, he noticed his mother working in the small flower garden. She was humming a cheerful tune.
Slowly pushing his window open, Astro went to speak, only to stop when he noticed movement on the sidewalk just down the road. Squinting, he could barely make out the outline of a purple stallion. Not recognizing him, he watched with curiosity as he came closer to their home.
His mother also seemed to notice, because she stood up and looked at him. Astro was surprised when she spoke to him as if she knew exactly who he was.
"How dare you show yourself at my home after what you've done!!" she shouted, waving the mini garden rake she held in her hoof towards the stallion.
The stallion, in response, held up his hoof in defense. When he spoke, his voice was deep and gravelly, as if somepony had scratched up his vocal cords. "It's not my fucking fault your damn husband had to go snooping around my establishment! I gave him very specific instructions to stay in the office!!"
Astro's mother was standing tall, the furs on her back standing up. "You fucking killed him! Had one of your creations kill him on the spot!!"
This time, it was the stallion's turn to growl. "If his stupid ass had followed orders, he would've been able to come home to his bitch of a wife!!"
The stallion then looked up, staring directly into Astro's eyes. The colt shrinked back in fear. "Oh? And you have a son, yes? I'd hate for him to lose both of his parents."
His mother gasped, stepping back. "Are you threatening me?!? You'll go to prison before you could do anything! Once I win the lawsuit, you'll be done for, Mister A--"
Just as Astro came back to his window, the stallion jumped. A knife appeared in his hoof as he pushed his mother to the ground. His mother let out a blood curdling screech - right before the knife was plunged into her chest.
"This is what happens to ponies who get into business they have no right to be in!!" the stallion roared, twisting the knife before yanking it out and stepping back.
"MOMMY!!!" Astro screamed at the top of his lungs. He watched in udder silence as the stallion stared up at him once more, before running off down the road.
Astro lept out of his window and glided down to the ground. He raced over to his mother, who was having trouble breathing. The young colt sobbed, collapsing down next to her, watching in horror as blood poured from his mother's chest. Instinctually, he placed his hooves against her chest, only to get his small hooves covered in his mother's lifeblood.
"Mommy, no!! Please, no!!"
The mare was laying on her side, wheezing and whimpering. Off in the distance, the faint sound of sirens could be heard. Astro's mother opened her eyes to look at her son. She barely managed to lift her hoof up to his cheek, which was now covered in tears.
"M-my little W-Wolf," she croaked, coughing up a bit of blood. " Sw-sweetie, I love you..." another cough and her body twitched. The sirens were slowly getting louder.
"Mommy, don't go!! Please, stay with me!! I need you!!! I can't lose you and daddy!!"
"Honey, w-we're always with you..." This was the last thing the mare ever said to her son before her life ended.
The little pegasus colt burst into tears, wailing loudly, continuously screaming out for his mother to come back. He buried his muzzle in her mane, the lifeless body of his mother unmoving.
When the authorities showed up, Astro was no longer laying over his mother's body, nor was he crying. He just sat a few feet away, staring in shock as the area was taped off for investigation. At first, one of the officers tried to get Astro to move, but was quickly shot down by his chief.
At some point, his parent's closest friends came by, hearing the horrific news. They managed to pull Astro away from the scene, comforting him. He had blood stains on his hooves and chest, and the first thing he was promised by his soon-to-be new family was a warm bath.
It was in these moments that the colt promised himself two things. First, he would do everything possible to protect the songs around him. Second, he was determined to bring his parents' murderer to justice. Lastly, he would not let himself get distracted until there goals were accomplished, by any means necessary.
Author's Note
This is my newest story. It's essentially my oc Astro Wolf's backstory. Hopefully, it does well. Later on, I will probably have some smut involved, but if that changes, the tags will definitely be changed.
Criticism is welcome, just don't be too harsh on me!
Also, there are a few tags that I didn't include. For example, I referenced Five Nights at Freddy's. However, this is the only chapter that will reference it, so I didn't deem it an important aspect of the story.
A Lifetime Almost Forgotten
The sun was shining brightly into the bedroom, the birds chirping cheerfully outside. As a pony in Equestria, you would already be out and about, taking care of your daily needs. Unless, of course, you were nocturnal, in which case you would be heading to bed. However, there were exceptions spread throughout the land, and Astro Wolf was one of these.
As the son bore into the pegasus’s room, it shone directly onto his bed. Normally, he’d just lay in bed, wide awake, not wanting to do anything. But, today was supposed to be special. At least, to his family it was. It was the day before his sixteenth birthday, and his family wanted to do something that night for him. He was suspecting it was just gonna be going out to some semi-fancy restaurant in Fillydelphia.
As he opened his eyes, the first thing he noticed was the bright sunlight shining directly onto his muzzle. “Odd,” he thought, blinking a few times as his eyes slowly adjusted. “I never wake up with the sun right in my face…” Sitting up, he noticing that he was facing his headboard, and his hooves were on his pillow. “Must’ve flipped around in the night…” With a sigh, he stretched his wings out and slipped out of his bed, trotting to the bathroom to relieve himself.
Coming out moments later, he quickly made up his bed before walking over to the mirror on his door. Examining himself, he lets out a soft sigh. His mane rested sloppily on his head, showing off his lack of care for how it looked. At best, he would run a comb through it a few times to flatten it out a bit, but that was it. His tail was similar, it hung about halfway down his legs, stopping at his knees. His wings were in need of preening, and the bags under his eyes showed the clear lack of sleep. His dark grey body darkened to almost pitch black at the tips of his hooves, wings, muzzle, and ears. Sometimes, at night, one would think that his ears were a part of his mane, as his mane had matte black stripes with dark crimson going through the middle of his mane and tail.
With a long sigh, he pushed open his door and stepped into the hallway of his one-story home. Sniffing the air, he smelled pancakes. Smiling a bit, he trotted off into the kitchen, where Velvet Sweet, more or less his mother, was humming, wearing an apron as she whirled around the room. Her horn was almost constantly glowing with that purple aura of magic, as dishes and ingredients floated this way and that. By now, his father, was already at work, a unicorn working at a construction firm. While he brought in a fair amount of bits, the couple was determined to not overly boast and brag about their wealth. This is expressed through the fairly cheap house they bought, a simple, one story cottage, in the suburbs of the city.
“Morning, mom…” Astro said with a deep yawn, stretching out his body so that his head close to the ground and his plot was up in the air.
The unicorn smiled and turned around. “Morning, sweetheart! Did you sleep well last night?” Her soft, velvety voice said as she looked over her shoulder, her magic not at all wavering.
Standing back up, he rubbed at his eyes, nodding sleepily. “Yeah, I would venture to say so. I mean, I woke up tired, but on the other hoof, I didn’t have any nightmares last night…”
“That’s great!! That’s two days in a row now!!” She smiled lovingly, turning her head back to her work.
Astro Wolf walked in and went up next to her, wrapping his wing over her and hugging her gently. “Say, did the mail come in yet?”
“I’m afraid not, darling. Windy Notes said she’d be running a little later today due to a change in her route. I guess our home’s the last stop for her now.”
Astro’s cheeks heated up just at tad, and his ears perked up when she mentioned the mail mare. She was a beautiful pegasus, to Astro, at least. While Astro didn’t get out much, let alone interact with others, he’s gotten rather close to her. She was only a couple years older than him, but she seemed to enjoy talking with him.
“Oh, that reminds me. She’ll be coming with us tonight to celebrate your birthday tomorrow! She’s got the night off, so I figured we’d go out to that fancy restaurant down the road!” Velvet said with a bright smile, looking over at her blushing son. “You love that idea, don’t ya?” She teased, giving him a wink and bump with her flanks.
Astro took a step to the side to keep from falling over. Her teasing caused him to blush more, and he quickly shook his head, his wings twitching at his sides. “N-No!! I mean, y-yeah, that sounds great, but th-there’s nothing going o-on with me and h-her!!” He quickly pushed a hoof over his muzzle to keep from blabbering on more.
His mother giggled, turning back to the stove. “Uh-huh, sure. Whatever you say dear.”
Astro rolled his eyes and tooks his blushing self out of the kitchen before she could make him anymore flustered. He never would openly admit it, but he had a huge crush on her. She was so nice, calm, and gentle with him. She teased him from time to time, suggesting that she knew he liked her. If that were the case, she made little to no sign of knowing. She’d often stay late hours after finishing her work to just talk to he and his family. She was one of the only other ponies that actually knew the truth about his past.
It had been almost twelve years since the incidents. His past was a fuzzy memory at this point, mostly due to the fact that he forced himself to try and forget everything in an attempt to restart his life. However, there were two days that were burned into his memories. The night he got to play with his father before he went to work, all the way up to the morning when his mother was killed. Anything prior to or after those few days was left as nothing but a haze. From time to time, a scene from his foalhood and growing up would creep into his dreams, albeit they were always altered. That’s just how dreams work, or so he’s been told. Very rarely will a pony have a dream that recalls the exact details of any situation they’ve been in.
Just thinking about his parents made a deeper part of him recoil, both from anger and sadness. Quickly shaking his head, he diverted his attention back to the smell coming from the kitchen. The scent would make just about anypony drool. Velvet Sweet knew how to cook just about anything, from making a delicious batch of pancakes to creating the most intricate cake anypony has ever seen. She works as a part-time private baker, working from home. Every now and then, she’d take up a request to make a cake for special events, like weddings, or make a big breakfast buffet for office meetings.
Astro Wolf sat on the couch in the living room, in dead silence, until his mother came into the dining area with a huge plate of pancakes. “Eat up, hon! We have a big day today!” She paused, then giggled. “Well, tonight. I have to run into town for a few hours to get some orders in. I’m open next week, so I want to rack in some more bits.”
“Not that we really need them!” Astro said, chuckling to himself. “I’m just kidding, mom. I know you love your work.”
She just rolls her eyes. “Haha, very funny. Now get up here before you chocolate chip pancakes get cold!”
Astro sighed and got up, walking over to the table, eating with his mother.
Once they had finished eating, Astro helped his mother clean up. She then had to leave, kissing his forehead before leaving. “I’ll be back later tonight, okay? Your father will probably be home by then, and we’ll go out when I get cleaned up, okay?” She then formed a smirk on her muzzle, prompting a gulp from Astro. “We’re all going to be dressing up a bit, so I asked Windy Notes to help me out with getting you ready!!”
Astro let out a loud snort. “You’re gonna make me wear a suit??” He gave her a look of bewilderment.
She giggled. “Well, of course! You have to look presentable!”
He huffed and let out a long groan. “Mom!!!” He plopped his head down on the counter. “You know I don’t like doing this kind of thing!”
She placed a gentle hoof on his back, running it up and down his spine. This sent a shiver through Astro’s body, his wings twitching at his side. “C’mon, please? Just for me? Just this one night…”
Astro’s eyes closed as she rubbed his back. He hesitated at first, then sighed. “Yea, fine… I’ll do it… But I can’t promise I’ll enjoy myself!!”
The mother giggled and trailed a hoof down his wing as she kissed his cheek. “That’s much better!”
Astro bit his lip as her hoof ran down his primaries, down to the tip of his wing. Shaking his head, his cheeks darkened as he looks over at her. “I’ll see you tonight, mom…”
Smiling, the mare trots outside, closing the door. She then left a note on the door for Windy Notes, before heading off into downtown to get some work done.
Astro hummed to himself as he flew over to the couch, laying on his stomach. Sighing, he looked back at his wings. “Man, I really need to preen my wings…” He began to think, his eyes suddenly getting heavy as his body started to shut down, trying to push him to sleep. “N-No! Must… st-stay… awake… Zzzz…” His sleep schedule, or lack thereof, was what cause him to get tired at very parts of the day.
The hours slipped by as he rested on his stomach on the couch. At some point in the late afternoon, the lock on the front door clicked, followed by the faint creak caused by the opening of the door. The only reaction that was produced by Astro was his ears twitching slightly. After a couple of moments, the mare stepping into the room closed the door and smiled, walking over to the couch. A bright smile and a soft blush formed on her muzzle as he sat down, facing the couch.
The mare had a light brown, almost tan coat. Her mane and tail were a shade of maroon, albeit closer to purple. On her flanks, she bore a letter with a gust of wind. Her name was, in fact, Windy Notes. She smiled softly at the pegasus before her, Astro only being a year or two younger than her. She never did tell him her exact age, but gave him enough hints to let him know that she was older by a bit of time. She just smiled, watching him sleep, slowly running a hoof through his mane, eliciting a sigh from his muzzle.
Astro Wolf woke up to a fuzzy feeling washing over him. At first, he kept his eyes closed, thinking he was in a dream. Which, in a sense, he kinda was. The dream seemed to be mixing with the sensations and noises from the real world, blending almost perfectly to make him think he was in a spa. With his eyes closed, he felt a muzzle and hooves working on both of his wings, preening and massaging them out, washing the stress right out. There was heavy attention on his left wing, however, and he lets out a soft moan, both in the dream and in reality.
A soft giggle shortly followed his moan, and his dream seemed to blur a bit, but not quite vanishing. There was a soft whisper through his left ear, that sent a shiver through his entire being.
“You’re really liking this, aren’t you dear~?” There was a bit of a teasing in the voice, and his entire body seemed to twitch.
Suddenly, there was a soft pain on his left ear, albeit, not unpleasing. His mind was suddenly wrenched from its created reality, pulling the stallion back into Equestria. With a soft grunt, his eyes opened, noticing he was still on the couch. “Oh, wow, that dream felt…. So surreal…” He then noticed the warmth on the tip of his twitching left ear, the top portion encased in some warm wetness. His eyes blinked several times as he went to lift his head. “What in the hay…”
A soft giggling ran over his ear, sending a jolt through his body. The warmth receded, leaving his ear coated in a thin layer of saliva, twitching violently from its sudden release from imprisonment.
“It’s about time you woke up, I thought you’d be out cold until Princess Luna raised the moon!” The all too familiar voice next to him said.
“... W-Windy? Is that you?” Astro said, a bit of relief washing over him as he turned his to look at her, noticing she had his left wing in her grasp. “Well, it could’ve been worse, I guess… But was she actually preening and massaging my wings?? At least it’s her and not some random mare from school that wants to get under me…”
“The one and only, cutie!! C’mon, we gotta get you all dolled up for tonight!” She beamed, wrapping her hooves around him and flipping him around so she could grab his right wing. Before he could offer a refusal, she took a few feathers in her mouth and tugged, pulling them out. Astro let out a soft yelp, soon relaxing.
“How long has it been since you’ve preened yourself, dude??” The mare asked with a hint of concern in her ears. “You know if you go too long without preening, your wings can cramp up and start hurting, hindering your ability to fly!”
“I… I know, Windy… I just, never really get out, unless it’s at night, but even then… I don’t fly as much as I probably should… But still, I’m fully capable of doing this myself, so there’s really no need for all of this, Windy…”
“Nuh-uh, none of that! You stay put, mister!” She said, pushing him back to his stomach as he started to sit up. Letting out a huff, Astro obliged.
“Say, what time is it, Windy?”
Windy paused what she was doing, briefly. “Quarter ‘till three, why?”
Astro paused for a moment as well, his brow furrowing as he went into thought. “Mom will be home shortly after three… And dad will be home around five… So we’ll probably be leaving around five-thirty or six…”
“Mhmm!” Chirped Windy, resuming her attention to preening and massaging Astro’s right wing, eliciting another moan out of him.
Astro lets out another grunt as Windy nipped at his wing. “W-Windy, please!! D-Don’t take this t-too far!”
She then leaned down and Astro felt her breath against his ear. “Awww, why not, dear? I’ve seen the way you’ve looked at me, hun~ And I must say, you’re a fine young colt yourself~”
Astro blushed madly, his heartbeat increasing as he began to breathe a bit more heavily. It was true, he has always had some deeper desire to be with Windy Notes. Everytime she came by, she made him smile, something not many ponies could boast. It also didn’t help that Astro had some darker want to be with a mare slightly older than him. The mares at school were certainly attractive, mind you, with their forming bodies, their flanks and curves becoming more profound. It also didn’t help that quite a few of them would flirt with him like crazy. But there was something about an older mare being with him that really aroused him.
After several moments, the mare giggled. “Don’t worry, hun. I won’t do anything to you. I know how to control my estrus better than a lot of mares. Most of the mailmares make sure they work during their estrus, while I’m the other way around. I won’t tell you how many stories I’ve heard in one day about how much relief they get. I just take the pills and stay home. No need to get pregnant until I’ve found my special somepony, right?” She then winked at Astro, releasing his wing and sitting up.
Astro just laid there, trying to retract his stallionhood back into it sheath. “Yea, you’re perfectly right… It’s good to know that some mares actually have some sense…” He shakes his head, thinking to himself: “I’m honestly shocked… With as many mares in this world, I’m surprised this is the farthest I’ve ever had one go… And she has restraint…” Sighing, he finally sits up, looking at her.
Windy climbed up onto the couch and leaned against him. “Ya know, I’m really looking forward to tonight. I can’t wait to dress you up in a suit!”
That got another groan from Astro Wolf. “Leave it to my mother to get me to dress up for something so cheesy as some stupid dinner outing at a really expensive restaurant…”
Windy gently punched him in the shoulder. “Hey! Your parents love you very much! At least they’re there for you, unlike what ha--” She suddenly shut up, her ears went flat against her skull. She quickly looked away from him, scooting a bit away, mostly out of shame. “I’m terribly sorry, Astro! It’s not my place to talk about what happened and I was foolish to let it slip and I really didn’t mean anything by it and I--”
Astro cut her off by placing a hoof over her muzzle. “Windy, chill, you’re fine… I’m certainly not mad... “ He then wrapped her in a hug, surprising even himself. He even wrapped his wings around her and nuzzled into her chest.
With a surprised gasp, her wings sprung outwards, stiffening from the sudden hug. She very hesitantly wrapped her own forelegs around Astro. They held each other for a few moments before Windy spoke, whispering softly into his ear. “Hey, I’ll do my best not to do it again, but thank you for not being mad…”
Astro sighed, pulling his head back. “Hey, look at it this way… I’m basically over what happened, more or less… Sure, I have nightmares, but that doesn’t mean I can’t try to move on…”
Windy sniffed a bit, tears welling up in her eyes. “N-No words can describe the sorrow I feel for what you had to go through, Astro Wolf… I hate even thinking about it, because it’s your life, not mine…”
Astro hushed her by placing a hoof on her mouth. When she scrunched up her muzzle and went cross-eyed, Astro chuckled and pulled his hoof back. He then managed a weak smile, looking up into the older mare’s eyes. Since she was slightly older, she was also slightly taller. Astro was sitting in her lap, their chest inches apart. As they stared into each others’ eyes, some unknown force seemed to be bringing the closer together.
There were no more tears in Windy’s eyes. There was a different emotion altogether behind her gaze. They were practically transfixed with each other, neither being wanting to get away. “Oh my gosh, are we about to kiss?! I don’t know if his parents would be okay with this, but he’s so calm right now! I don’t wanna take this away from him, if he wants this! Ahhh!” These were some of the thoughts rushing through Windy Notes’s mind as they got closer.
On the other hoof, Astro was freaking out on the inside, but taking it in a much different manner. “My first kiss?! Is this it, I can’t believe this… If this evolves into a relationship, everything would go down hill! I’m not ready to love somepony else, but I can’t control these feelings I have for Windy! She’s so beautiful and amazing and… and kind and thoughtful and sweet! She’s perfect!!” At some point, their chests came together, their muzzles now a mere inch apart.
Suddenly, the front door burst open, and a unicorn stallion burst in, humming loudly. His humming went dead silent as he saw his son and Windy. However, he just blinked and softly closed the door behind him. Windy and Astro had both jumped when the door slammed open, causing both to fall to the floor, with Windy on top of a flustered Astro.
Instead of yelling at him, which Astro was expecting, his father laughed. “Oh, am I interrupting something? Here, lemme help ya…” His horn suddenly glowed, and in a flash, Windy and Astro were teleported.
When they opened their eyes, they noticed a few things. First of all, they were still laying with each other, Astro on the bottom. In addition, they were laying in Astro’s bed. “I… uh… Heh, my dad… He’s like that s-sometimes…” Astro said, his cheeks burning from embarrassment.
Windy was also blushing profusely, staring down at Astro in both shock and embarrassment. “I… I didn’t mean… t-to take it th-this far… Y-Your mom would probably k-kill me..” After a bit of hesitation, she started to climb out of the bed, looking away from Astro Wolf.
“If it means anything… I w-w-wouldn’t have, um… y-ya know… st-stopped you…” Astro’s cheeks filled with blood as he jerked his gaze towards the window, sitting up on the bed.
This stopped Windy. A few thoughts went through her mind, and she looked over her shoulder, giving Astro half-lidded eyes as she slowly smirks. “Oh really, now~?”
Astro’s wings twitched at his sides, knowing fully well where this would go. “Oh… Um… I… D-Don’t we need to get ready? I th-thought mares t-took forever…” He quickly looks away, rubbing a hoof up and down the back of his neck.
Windy let out a faint harumph, before turning and walking over to the dresser and grabbed a small box Astro Wolf somehow hadn’t noticed. “I hope you like the suit… It will definitely contrast to your coat…”
The pegasus stallion blinked, watching the mare move back to his bed, the box on her back. “It’s white, isn’t it?”
Windy giggles, nodding eagerly as she sets the box down. Opening it up, she slowly pulled out the white suit. It had a dark grey tie along with it. Unfolding it and setting it on the bed, the mare looked up at Astro. “Now, go get showered and cleaned up. We’re going to fix up that mop on your head you call a mane, and that tail, too!”
Astro groans, staring blankly at her. “I think my mane’s just fine!!” He huffed, jumping up from the bed and starting for the bathroom.
“Oh, then how come it’s so tangled and just everywhere??” The mare purred, blocking his path to the bathroom. She ran a hoof through his mane, noticing how much was actually entangled. “Oh dearie me… It’s worse than I thought…”
With a loud, obvious snort, Astro pushed his way around the mare, heading into his room. “Just get ready, okay? With my dad home, that means mom will be shortly, and we have somewhere to go tonight…” With a roll of his eyes, he went into the restroom and locked the door behind him, letting out a long sigh.
After about twelve minutes, the stallion came back out of the bathroom, a towel draped over his neck. HIs mane and tail were still fairly damp, but the rest of his dark, ash grey body was mostly dry. “Alright, I’m out, Windy… Woah…” The stallion stopped, mid-step, staring in pure shock at the pegasus mare before him. His cheeks were almost instantly caught on fire.
The mailmare was busy using his mirror to put her mane up into a bun. Over her body was an aquamarine dress, with emerald green frills at the end of it and at the cuffs on her forelegs. She had diamond earrings adorning her ears, as well as a matching necklace. Up her legs were fishnet stockings or a black color. She even had heels on her hooves, matching the coloration of her dress. Tying her mane into a bun, she turned and batted her eyes at him. She had black eyeliner and highlights over and around her eyelids.
Astro Wolf just stared at her, stuttering, unable to get anything coherent out of his mouth. His cheeks were about as red as they could get, almost perfectly matching the stripe in his mane and tail. After a few moments, he shook his head and jerked his gaze away, his breathing a bit heavier than he realized.
Giggling, the mare stepped up to him. “Well, how do I look, hun?” She teased, doing a little twirl in her dress.
“I… Y-You… H-How??” He finally blurted, staring up at her in shock and confusion.
“Oh, silly! Your mom came home shortly after you jumped in and helped me get ready!! Magic can do wonders, ya know!!” She the booped the stallion’s nose, causing him to scrunch up his muzzle in embarrassment. “Now, c’mon! We gotta get you ready, too!” She then trotted over to his suit and hummed a cheerful tune.
With a soft groan, Astro Wolf walked up to her, sighing internally. All in all, this was going to be one long night for the introverted stallion, despite his efforts to enjoy himself.
