It was about 200 hundred years before the present day in ponyvile and threat had been made against the princess. She was told to hand over her throne to a terrifying and cunning enemy, but celestia was very busy at this point in time and before she even got a chance to read the threat they were attacked without mercy. By hideous cephalopod bio-mechanical creatures with weapons mounted onto their robotic left arm. Everything was a living hell in northern equestria and celestia was running out of options. She was in a gross and smelly bomb shelter being protected by the highest of royal guards who all appeared to be mares in their black armour for when Luna finally broke free. She needed a way out of this mess without getting killed; they all eventually decided to use their bayonets to dig their way out and to filidelphia. While they all were digging the mare at the front of the pack shouted ‘I’ve found something and it’s definitely not a rock! The mares all burst through the metal frame with their extreme strength and then they all fell into a very bright white room. THEID FOUND AN OLD REASERCH BASE. It had exceptional technology which they all left behind for a better future. Celestia was astounded. This was just the break thru she needed. She gave all of the mare’s orders to stay down there and contemplate a way to be rid of the CEPH... Eventually they won the war with the secret technologies of the base, which till this very day remains a secret. They called themselves the MARES IN BLACK. They recruit the best of the best to fight against alien threats. Only celestia and those who are operatives know of these hidden protectors. However. Some still speculate of the M.I.B’s existence but can never find proof of it. We work in secret. We work in unity. We are the MARES IN BLACK.

CHAPTER 1: MEET THE MARES.
I am your run of the mill mare. I have run of the mill friends and a run of the mill life. I have always liked ponyvile and its inhabitants since I moved there from filidelphia when I was 6. Today was just a normal day in ponyvile; the birds are cheeping and pinkies partying. Everypony is happy as can be. Me and bon bon were just coming home from work and we were talking on the way back home. It was about 8 PM and Bon was talking more or less complaining about something when I just stopped in the middle of the road. Are you all right Lyra? Is something bothering you? Personally I was surprised that she hadn’t noticed that it was starting to rain but I guess that’s bon for ya. We continued walking home bon bon still ranting about the same thing as before, but I couldn’t really understand her thru the thickness of the hail storm, I stopped again only to get yelled at by a yelling bon bon now complaining about the pain of the hail hitting her soft skin.
Paying no attention to this I just continue looking at the sky. Something is defiantly wrong with this picture I said to myself shrugging off the hard hail bits hitting my rain coat. Still staring into the soul of the dark abyss of a storm this was, something caught my eye just as I began to continue on to get home I caught the slightest glimpse of a flying blue box with a flashing light on top of it. Now what in equestria could THAT be? I thought to myself. Meh must be my imagination.
When I got home bon was fresh out of the shower much like rarity she liked to stay ship shape if at all possible. You guna dry off or are you just going to saturate your bed bon said sarcastically while drying her mane. I looked down, I was dripping wet [note: there will be shipping and sexual shit later but I hafta lay out the story before we get into that] so I decided to take her advice and dry myself before I go to bed. By the time I was dry bon was fast asleep mumbling some semi-sane shit so I didn’t bother to say goodnight at the risk of waking her up and strangling me for ruining her dream. So instead I just lent over and gave her a light kiss on the forehead, goodnight bon bon I whispered to myself as I drifted off to sleep myself. Something I worry about whenever it’s time to go to bed is; will I wake up in the morning? Or will I be forecast into a pit of endless nightmares never to re-open my eyes. But over the last few years I’ve found that it would take a perfect alignment of the stars and the moon to actually open a paradox and close my way back into the real world. But zero has taught me that the odds of this happening are like a bazillion to one. So I close my eyes and gently fall asleep to the gentle sound of Bon’s ranting.
GASP! I woke up in an instant, hyperventilating my brains out. I looked around myself and saw the clock 5:04 AM it read. I figured that it would be an ok time to have my morning shower and get ready for work early. I must have been pretty loud in the shower because when I got out bon bon was rubbing her eyes and then let out a big dramatic yawn. Why are you up so early Lyra? Couldn’t sleep, too much on my mind I said in a tired moan.
Pfft really Lyra? What in celestia could bother you on a day like this?! And what’s so great about today? I asked. Bon trotted over to her cabinet and opened the doors while saying; it’s your birthday you silly filly you know that. Hmmm that’s funny bon, normally you’d say ‘you ass hole’. Well it’s your birthday, figure id better be nice to you or you’ll get zero on my case. Heh yhea probably. I headed to my cabinet to grab my weapon and put it in cloak. Bon already had her 20.MK s.h.m PLASMA RIFLE and was engaging temporary invisibility protocol’s for it.
CHAPTER 3: BE UNEXPECTED
I woke up in a cold sweat instantaneously wondering what the hell had happened. Looking around I saw that Everypony was on the ground and unconches except for zero, he was no were to be seen or herd. I trotted over to bon and tried to wake her up. But instead of waking up she just moaned and rolled over and while doing so smacked me right across the face. I ignored this and kept trying to wake her up.
After realising she wasn’t waking up without a fight I turned away to pick up my weapon. It was night time and still really cold, I let out a shiver and leant down to pick up my gun. But something wasn’t right, Im being watched I said to myself. I picked up my gun and turned around, fast. I saw something run for cover from on top of a roof. I AM being watched I said realising the reality of the situation at hoof.
I stared at the roof mercilessly then turned my gaze to spark, he was waking up. I sprinted over to him but before I could get to him 4 small blue projectiles flew my way but I dodged them and retuned fire carrying on to spark. I almost got to him when suddenly I was tackled to the ground by a large enemy with flowing transterant pink tentacles flowing out the back of its head. We rolled until we stopped and it was on top of me. I had cuts all over me, it had extremely sharp knifes attached to both its wrists.
I looked to my side to see a smiling pitch black Pegasus look at me with his bright green eyes and said; you ok Lyra? You’re losing abit of blood so if you black out I won’t be surprised. And if you do then just let it be known that you are safe now, I will protect you till the exhaustion of my own life. Destiny’s a bitch, but she’s a bitch we all have to deal with.
I couldn’t speak; I just listened to what he had to say. I looked around myself to see at least 15 open wounds bleeding like crazy. Zero moved my head to face him and he said; allots riding on your life, and at this point in time I could say it’s the same fate for all of us. He had a black and gold bag next to him; he opened it to reveal medical equipment and bandages. I looked him in the eyes, gave him a painful grin then allowed myself to be overcome by the blood loss.
I woke up to the sweet smell of perfectly cooked bacon and eggs. I looked around and the first thing I saw was spark scoffing down some eggs and bon giving him the ‘are you serious!?’ look. Zero was sitting in front of a fire cooking more breakfast at the brink of dawn. I sat up but instantly stopped after I felt a sharp pain in my right fore leg. I looked down to see bandages with splotches of red where it hurt most.
I looked at the rest of my body to find that I was covered in silk bandages. Zero noticed I was up and said good morning to me. Once said, spark looked up with egg white and a bacon strip still hanging out of his mouth and gave me a wave then continued eating, bon just face hoofed. Want some breakfast Lyra? It’s fresh. Shure why not I responded. Uhh where exactly are we? Top ahh Swayback Mountain. And you should be glad I decided to bring you with us, I had to lug your ass 20 fucken miles yaknow.
Jesus man get over it, at least I go to the gym. HEY you leave that hell whole outa this he said while pointing the spatula at me. I just giggled and waited for my breakfast to be ready. ORDER UP! He then made an imitation noise of a service bell. Ding ding. He put the plate directly in front me. Dam this looks good! Tell me about it spark said while rubbing his belly. Hey Lyra bon said, you want to come to the river to get a drink once you’ve finished breakfast? Shure.
You Shure that’s a good Idea, I don’t need to distribute anymore painkillers do I? Zero gave me a caring look. I’ll be FINE. Really I will I reassured him. Ok just be careful. Shure thing. I took one last bit off egg and headed off.
Spark looked at me; smooooooooooth he said with a cheeky grin. Hey shut up man you’re doing no better! Whoa dude leave me outa this, it’s your relationship not mine spark said while walking away. Yhea well how are you and rainbow going!? Shut the FUCK up man! He yelled back from a distance. I chuckled and just stared at bon and Lyra walking away toward the river.
We got to the river and we talked; what do you think is going to happen to us Lyra? I honestly don’t know but it can’t be healthy thinking about it, let’s just get a drink and head back. Speaking of healthy, how are those wounds going? You were bleeding like a stuffed pig when I woke up. Meh not too bad, it just hurts a little when I pivot. Another thing though Lyra, what the hell attacked you? There was no carcass no nothing.
I gave her a blatant look, trust me bon if you’d seen it you wouldn’t be able to sleep for weeks on end. She just shot me a worried look then slurped up some water. We were about to head back when suddenly the small rocks on the ground started to tremble and bounce. Bon started; what the fuh- before she could finish a huge flying machine flew just a-few inches above our heads. It flew away toward the swayback desert. Bon was panting, WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!? She shouted in confusion.
STAND DOWN SOLDIER! I heard polite voice yell. She’s friendly, you are friendly right. Uhh that would be a yes. Err I don’t suppose the other filly’s with you? Yhea, she is. From behind a crowd of royal guard’s bon flopped onto the ground. Soooo soldier, you mind telling me what section you and your friend belong to. Cobolt section mam. Every single one of the guards took a step back. One of the soldiers spoke up; but that can’t be, cobolt section is in the infected zone!?
I know I had to put a protection spell on all of us. All of you? The same solder said. Wait, how many more of you are there? Just another two, spark and- ZERO, zero interrupted from behind. All of the solders turned to zero and turned off their safeties. Stand down soldiers, I mean no harm. The commander of the troops took a second then gave the other troopers a nod. They all lowered their weapons.
I walked past Lyra and all of the guards and solders to end up standing front of the pink mare who had originally been giving the orders. I knelt down in front of her and said; princess mia moray cadenza, it’s always a pleasure. She looked down at me and muttered; ditto.
CHAPTER 4: SPEC-OPS.
We went inside via a trap door and once we got inside a sudden scene of security entered all of our body’s as zero and bon let out a relived sigh. We entered a waiting room sort of area. I looked around curiously, something wrong Lyra? Zero asked. Yhea, where’s spark? Hmm I don’t know but we better go look for him. No said cadence. I’ve lost contact with the outside unit which indicates that the ceph have broken through the perimeter, it’s too risky to open the doors. Im sorry.
Bahhh it doesn’t matter, he’s smarter than he looks so he’ll figure something out. Then a sudden metal clunking was coming from the air vents above. We all pointed our weapons at the source. But then it stopped, silence. The only sound was shuffling from the other 12 guards. I was paying close attention to an old bullet hole in the vent. Something aint right here zero said in a whisper. He walked directly below the bullet hold and stopped. Hmmmmm.
I was staring directly up at it and I saw a shadow moving inside off the vent. It’s stopped moving and Everypony was still silent. Suddenly a quiet ‘’chink’’ from something metal hit my ears. Then out of the hole an oval black object fell directly in front of me. My eyes turned to the size of dinner plates as I shouted GRENADE!!!!!!
I turned around and ran for the exit while all of the others followed me. I yanked on the door but it wouldn’t budge. Go go go! I heard a voice shout. Out of a hidden door 2 solder’s dressed in florescent green and orange ran over to the grenade and put a bowl like object over it then bolted it down. CLEAR! I put my hoofs over my ears as did Everypony else. All I saw was a bright flash and a muffled ‘poof’.
They unbolted the dome then took it away trough the same hidden door but this time left it open. I cautiously looked at Everypony, I then walked up to the door and passed through with Lyra and the others still following behind me. Ohhhh my Luna I said with a wide grin on my face from cheek to cheek. [Note: if celestia is considered god then that makes Luna Jesus].
Holy shit! I said as soon as zero entered the room. Not time for delay cadence said as we followed her down the hall. You all have designated positions here she said. Bon you’re on the computer navigation team codenamed ‘oversight’ bon put a hoof to her head in a solute then rushed away.
Lyra, zero come with me. We followed her into a room witch you needed a key card to get into. She swiped it and continued talking. You two are our last shot here. We looked at her with shock and confusion. Why are we the last hope? HOW are we the last hope? She let out a sigh of pain. Is something wrong princess? Arrg no im not and sadly we all have the same problem except you three. What is it? Ebola zero blurted with his mouth left open. It causes cellular breakdown from the inside out. Is THAT why you made me put that protection spell on us I asked in confusion.
No, im afraid no spell is known that can protect against it the princess blurted out. The reason you three are fine is because of the magical radiation that unicorn’s project when they have a sense of security. The other one has a temporary amount that will wear off over time. But you both have enough around you to last more than a life time. Well we do hang out every now and then. Well this amount would require MUTCH more than just hanging out. We both shuffled away from each other.
The door slid open and as soon as I laid eyes on it, I made a dead line for it. I ran clean into it making a painful CLUNK then shouted; OHHH BABY DADDY’S MISSED YOU! You do realize your hugging a machine right? Lyra said. In more logical term’s a v-tol. The princess said still in pain. Of Couse I know that, question is how’d you guys get it here? I’ve been working on this baby for MONTHS in a secure room under my house.
That doesn’t matter right now; we need you guys to go force recon. Let me guess, you want us to go ALL the way back to ponyvile to get the prototype electromagnetic particle rifle or the ‘gauss rifle’ witch I already have. How do you have it! Your HQ was put on lockdown once the alarm went off! So? So how the living fuck did you get it!? I have friends, friends in place’s you’d expect least of all.
Hell I even have undercover agents in this very establishment. Who the princess asked dominantly. Fuck sake lady, if I told you who it wouldn’t really be undercover would it. Plus what’s the point? By the look of you infection you only have about half an hour left to live I said with a grin. I’ll send shining armour your condolences. Oh him, he’s dead.
Damn, how? They raided the castle, only I and Luna made it out alive. May I speak with her I asked politely? Certainly. I started to walk towards the door when she put a foreleg in front of me. AFTER you tell me how you got the gauss rifle. Will a hint do? Why can’t you tell me straight up? Coz it would open up a time rift witch would suck you into oblivion. She grunted, fine. Two words. What are they? Cadence and Lyra both asked. Blue……box.
Blue box? Cadence said in confusion. Oh my god zero Lyra said, don’t tell me you mean-SHHHHHHH! Don’t spoil the surprise. Pinkie would scold you for LIFE if you spoiled this one. FORGET IT! I don’t even wana know anymore. Just follow me to the conference room. This dump has a conference room? Lyra said. Ha-ha just when you think a place is that shitty you find out it has a conference room I said with a chuckle. Shut up and follow me. I let out a cheeky laugh then followed her with Lyra beside me.
We were walking down a bright hall but it started to get darker as we went down further and further. Darker and darker. No lights. Darkness. Pitch black silent darkness. Damn it cadence why is it so dark in here? Cadence? I backed up towards the wall [I think] and hit something. I yelled and I heard a familiar scream. Lyra, that you I asked. Oh zero it’s you thank god. Uhh where’s cadence she asked? A weak strained voice came from further down the hall. Find….spike it said with a loud ‘shink’ and the sound of blood splattering on the walls. I heard it fall to the floor and with its last breath it said; and don’t blink. A louder shink and the sound of metal hitting the ground came this time then we heard something rolling towards us.
I saw a pink and soft yellow mane, not soon after lying in front of us was the heavily bleeding disembodied head of princess cadence. It had been brutally maimed and it had its corneas cut out. We turned around and ran toward the light. Closer and closer it became until we reached it and we both stood there with our jaws dropped.
CHAPTER 5: HELL RISEING.
It was all destroyed. Everything. There were cables coming out of the wall producing sparks and all of the computers were on fire or smashed. Blood ridden body’s all over the ground. I looked up, a light was flickering. How we thought there was light here is a mystery. You think it was the thing from in the air vent Lyra asked. Can’t have been, one being couldn’t do this much damage in the amount of time it had. There it was again, the thumping in the vents.
Who’s there! I yelled at the ceiling. There was silence for a moment. Then a soft female voice answered; who wants to kno- it stopped. What happened here it asked? That’s what we’re trying to find out. You sound like a pony, do you work here? Maybe it answered. But might I ask you the same thing. I thought for a second then it hit me, your voice sounds so familiar I said, have we meet before? I think so it responded.
Hmmm what region are you miss? Pfft you wouldn’t believe me if I told you. If I tell you mine will you tell me yours? Mines just as unbelievable. Ok fine. Cobalt section I grunted. There was another silence. Zero, I-is that you? Don’t know is that DERPY. My god, YOU’RE ALIVE! Happy thumps came from the vent. Creaking started to come from the vent and dents appeared. No good can come from this Lyra said sarcastically. A loud crack and a thump came when derpy fell through the vent. Owww she said. Me and Lyra just giggled. She got up groaning and I asked her why she was in the air vent. She said she was trying to find what caused the disaster in ponyvile. SO YOU DROP A GRENADE ON ME!? I yelled. Hey, you know I have an eye condition and that I don’t always realize who im dropping explosives on. Still though what happened here? She asked in cautiousness. We don’t know. All we know is that cadence is dead and so are most of the others.
She sighed and urged us to keep on moving. Find spike and don’t blink I kept repeating in my head. Uhh derpy? Yes? Where’s spike? I don’t know, I do know he’s alive though. Good. Why in equestria would she want me to find spike? Think zero THINK! I heard derpy scream. What is it derpy I yelled in confusion. Something just ran across the hall she mumbled. What was it? Was it a HUMAN!? Lyra blurted in excitement. Lyra, for god sake you’ve met Bryan and felt his hands. I know, but I didn’t get the chance to replicate them into mechanical form so this I can have hands to!
Derpy leant over and whispered into my ear. Why do you keep telling her to follow her own dreams again?! Because it stops her from asking me to dig up Bryan and get skin samples from his corpse. Fair enough. Me and derpy were getting ready to find out what she saw when all of a sudden huge bright lights blinded all of us. I heard 3 simotaniosly shots and then a slight pinch in my flank. I started to fell woozy. I was wobbling all over the place; derpy and Lyra were already out cold. I got one of my pistols from my leg strap. I was pointing it at the light then fired. It went out and I regained partial vision. WH-who’s there? I groggily asked. I heard shuffling.
I can’t enplane why but I got mad, REALLY MAD. I ripped the tranquilizer out of my leg and though it likes a dart. I heard somepony well holy shit and then screaming. I started flapping my wings putting me stable in mid-air. I grabbed my other pistol from my other leg then pointed them both at a blurry figure. Why is he not unconscious yet I heard it say. Im on it sir another voice said. That voices shadow appeared but I was too fucked off to even care. I pointed my right pistol at it and fired. I heard a twang meaning id missed. The shadow froze. I heard a clunk as it dropped its gun and put its hoofs up. Hazel what he’ll do you think you’re doing?! Pick up that gun and shoot him NOW! That’s an ORDER!
Im afraid I can’t do that. I struck me! I know who that is I said in my head. I started to calm down. I said this; you’re early. It walked closer to me and continued talking. Zero I have a time machine I can’t really be late can I now? Fair point. Indeed it is now derpy, you mind getting us out of here. I looked to my side she was gone, but then I heard her voice on the intercom. Be a pleasure she said with an echo. But nothing happened. But the brown colt next to me kept on grinning. Oh yhea you might want to grab you friend over there while you have the chance zero. What, yhea ha-ha oops almost forgot.
The now clear solder was now yelling at me. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!? I HAVE GUNS! Yhea and I have 10 ounces of trank running through my veins. No! You cannot leave, I won’t let yo- a loud bang interrupted him then he fell over with a big red hole in the canter of his fore head. I looked down to see Lyra aiming her gun at where he once stood. It’s about time he shut up. I gave her a grin and helped her up. Arrg ya know zero, that has got to be the most ineffective tranquilizer ever. She said while regaining her composure. I laughed a little still holding her hoof. We locked eyes, she was looking into my soul and I was doing the same to her. Her eyes were twinkling and shining in what was left of the light in the room. We just stood there, looking at each other blissfully. Out of the corner of my eye I saw the grey colt from before put a hoof in front of his mouth and open his mouth poking out his tongue in the throw up motion.
I ignored it and kept on staring at her, she was grinning cutely like the day I saved her in the war. I was just about to speak when the doctor beat me to it. Um yes well im Shure you two are having a good time indulging in each other but derpy kind of rigged this place to blow in three minutes. We both snapped out of it and came back to reality. I let go of her hoofs and we followed the doctor to the room the key card was needed for. But clearly he’d planned ahead because before he even stopped he got his sonic screwdriver from his blazer and opened the door. We just kept on running.
He was panting when we stopped but derpy Lyra and I were fine. Heh you’re a bit outa shape doctor I said. You should get out more. He looked at me with a tiered look and said oh SHUT UP while pulling back a curtain which had the tardus behind it. Wow doctor, not as incognito as usual are we now. Yhea hilarious PUNS now just hurry up and get in. But before we could get in something must have exploded. THE WHOLE PLACE IS COMEING DOWN! MOVE MOVE! I rushed Everypony into the tardus. Everypony was in but me.
Zero come on man MOVE IT! But I couldn’t, something in me was telling me to stay. COME ON MOVE IT THE WHOLE ROOF IS COMING DOWN! Lyra was shouting. Slow wiring sounds were occurring. Derpy shouted at the doctor to stop the tardus but he didn’t. She was pounding against him. Zero come on we gotta go the doctor added. I just swayed my head from side to side. The tardus was almost gone. But before they disappeared with derpy and Lyra trying to grab me, I gave a solid solute. Then they were gone.
I snapped out of it realizing what I had just done. I’d just cut off my only exit. I sighed and then looked to the right. My sad face suddenly turned into an ever so happy expression as I ran to it and opened the rear door. The v-tol’s rear entrance opened and I walked in running my hoofs along the inside as I wondered into the cockpit. I opened to cockpits door to see through the glass that the whole place only had about 20 seconds left to live. This did not rush me; I stayed calm, sat down and revved that juicy pig’s penta [5] turbine nuclear injected engine. The only way to describe what it sounded like was ‘orgasmic’. It sounded like a new founded sports car mixed with an 80’s muscle car with an exhaust pipe 20 miles wide.
I was flipping switches and warming up the bright blue flaming thrusters at the rear on the veacle when the light indicating that the after burners and buck-up after burners were online and on standby. A voice on the intercom said 10 seconds till detonation. I revved it once more then put my head ford and down as I listened to the intercom. 4---3---2---1. Bada-boom I said in a monotone voice. A serious explosion occurred behind the ship and that was my queue to floor it! I put my hoof to the floor as soon as it happened and almost instantaneously I hit 125 mph. I was out running the explosion. I looked to the speed meter. 237 mph. I could now fell the G forces kicking in. my skin around my face started to flail as I hit 300 mph.
The wings of it were scraping against the walls as I flew past creating sparks. P.G FUCK YHEA! I yelled as the entire place started to fall apart in front of me. I crashed through a solid wall of reinforced cinder blocks into the room full of C4, frag grenades and oil barrels. HUGE ERUPTIONS of many more than 24 separate explosions happened as I burst through the other side of the reinforced wall. As the smoke and shrapnel cleared away as I continued to fly toward the exit I said to myself. Bitch please; this thing has 12 inch thick heavy duty bullet proof stainless iron armour. After saying this I chuckled then burst through the exit, unscaved. I flicked the v-tol around to see that the base was violently self-destructing with a little help from derpy’s well-placed C4. I put the controls on standby and then lent back and sighed in relief. I was still tiered from last night lugging Lyra up swayback and all. So I kicked back and took a nap.

CHAPTER 6: BLUE SKY’S.
YAWN! I woke up at the brink of dawn still in the v-tol hovering about 500ft above ground. I was stretching in my seat I musta fallen asleep I said to myself. I wonder how the others are doing, they must be worried sick. I looked out of the windshield I was clear outside, a sunny day. I fell back into my char and smiled. That bitch survived. I looked around all of the spare cabinets but there was no emergency food packs. Hmmm I’ll have to go down and get some breakfast. So I hit the big green button and the rear hatch opened. Before I left the air craft I grabbed a pistol off one of the weapon racks next to the seats.
Being a Pegasus, free falling is an everyday sort of thing but not normally under these circumstances. So I just fell out backwards and did a flip or two then curved my wings to stabilize myself before I got to 30ft. Once I landed it was instantly clear that there were no hostiles within 200 miles of here. There was just a small reservoir surrounded by palm trees and a HAMMOCK!! As soon as I saw it I reached for my gun. I had my hoof on it ready to shoot whatever decided to make the worst decision of its life, but nothing came.
I trotted up to the hammock and put a hoof on it, it instantly dissipated into dust making it clear that whatever was here was either dead or gone. I lowered my guard to the normal place then got a drink. This place is so peaceful, almost like a private resort. I suddenly felt woozy and tipsy almost as if I just drunk 40 shots of vodka. It past after about 2 minutes but I didn’t notice really, I was too busy trying to buck coconuts out of a palm tree but I kept on missing. Eventually I hit it with about four coconuts smashing me in the head. Im a solder, I’ve taken bullets but that still fucking hurt so bad. After getting my marbles back I say a yellow flash behind a tree. I got onto my hind legs like the doctor did when he first arrived here and walked over to the tree it occurred behind.
There was nothing there but a bright white note on the ground. I picked it up and examined it aloud. Friends beyond the stars collide to form one nation. I was baffled and had to read it again just to be Shure. I folded it up and put it in the same pouch as my gun. I then flew back up to the v-tol with some coconuts and fresh water shell fish. I got back to the v-tol and sorted the food out. I cracked open a coconut by shooting it then got a drink. Honestly im not a big fan of coconuts but I’ll take what I can get. I sat down in one of the seats across from the food and looked out the back exit.
Clear sky’s for miles. But then something unexpected happened. The v-tol’s radio turned on and I could hear a voice. HELLO? Is any pony out there? Repeat, is any pony out there still alive. The voice started to talk to others in the backround. I walked up to the pilot’s seat and sat down. I seriously don’t think there’s anypony out there who survived guys. Ahh shit another voice in the backround said. I hesitantly put my hoof on the intercom witch made a loud megaphone kind of noise on both ends. There was a silence on the other end; I hear somepony grab their speaker franticly. HELLO!?! If anypony’s there PLEASE respond! Hello bon bon I said hesitantly. Zero, is that really you? Yhea, it’s me. Your alive HA you’re alive. I heard cheering in the backround. Hey, it’s not time to celebrate yet. She was panting when she came back, are- are the others with you? No. oh I heard a now depressed bon say. But there not dead either. Suddenly her voice turned as high and exited as pinkies. So Lyra’s ok!?! Yup.
Ohhhh thank god. Ok bon now it’s my turn to ask some questions, who are you with? Some others from oversight. Storm fury, sig or sigma protocol and this really hyper dude named kilowatt hour. Seriously I think he snorted something before we came under attack. No, that’s just the way he is said sig. Heh, sounds allot like pinkie I said. Anyway, where are you guy’s ill pick you up? In what bon asked. You’ll see when I get there now send me your qowardinats. Ok. A blue light showed up on the dash board and some other stuff on the mini screen. Ok I’ll be there in about 13 minutes. Jesus fucking Christ man, what in equestria are you driving? What part of you’ll see when I get there didn’t you get? She grunted, fine.
ABOUT 8 MINUTES AFTER LEAVEING TO GET BON AND THE GANG.
I was sitting in the pilots chair while the v-tol was on auto pilot. It was about 6 or 7 minutes after I left to get bon and her squad. I was looking out the window when something on the desert ground below caught my eye. There was a small red dot on the ground so out of curiosity I switched off auto pilot and swerved back to take a look at what it was. I didn’t want to get too low in case it was hostile so I grabbed the gauss rifle witch was leaning against the cockpit door and looked at it through the scope. Immediately I realised this wasn’t a hostile, it was a civilian. I strapped the rifle on my back, grabbed a med pack and jumped out the back.
One I got to the ground I was about 20 meters away from the red Pegasus with a brown mane. You all right mate? He was only just breathing. I went abit closer to find that he had passed out from dehydration. There were four or five trees within 6 meters of me and I studied all of them for movement. Then I noticed clouds, there were only about 7 of them but I tried to keep an eye on them. Still staying sharp I walked over to the unconches colt. I lowered my head to look at him and when I did a shoot was fired and a 50 calibre hole was made right next to me. I looked around franticly for a bullet trail but there was nothing.
I was about to bend back down to give him some water when I heard something whisper: shit! My head shot up and then I saw it, a huge 50 calibre bullet falling from the 3rd cloud on the left flank. In less than a second I flicked the gauss rifle ford with one hoof and fired at the cloud. Once fired there were a yell of pain and then a brown and white Pegasus falling off the side of the cloud. Once the body was on the ground I frowned at it. Why the heck it a sniper out here trying to kill me? I thought to myself while slumping the other Pegasus over my shoulder. Once he was in a safe position I flew him up to the VTOL and strapped him in a seat. I decided to go back down to the sniper to get some ammo from his body and cloud.
CHAPER 7: ASYLUM. [Mini chapter]
Its fucking freezing I said to myself as I worked off the breakfast zero had made just hours earlier. I got jumped by the P.E.L.T [ponyvile’s elite leathaltalaty troop]. It wasn’t easy but I managed to snatch one of their weapons and fight my way out of their holding facility. I was about 7 hours out of ponyvile and nearing my target destination: the equestrian asylum for the criminally insane. I wasn’t worried about the others, there pretty clever so they’d figure something productive out. Any normal pony would stay at least 20 miles away from the asylum but as most pony’s suspect were not all as normal as we appear. I squinted my eyes as hard as I could and I could see a black object in the far off distance, almost there I said to myself coming closer and closer to it.
After about another 7 minutes of walking I finally made it to the front door, as expected the guards were frozen solid as it was still snowing heavily. I pushed both doors open with a loud creek. There was whispering and chattering from other prisoners but there not what im interested in, im here for the most heartless soul of a pony who ever lived. I walked through another set of doors opening with a creek; most of these ponies were wrapped up and strapped to boards of wood doing absolutely nothing but staring at me. I saw a familiar face, it was pinkie pie. She was twitching and then she started to chuckle. H-h-hey sp-sp-sp-spark, wana help me make some cupCAKES!? Can it pinkie, im not here for you. Ohh I know that I just thought it would be a fun activity to do together ehh-he-he-he. No pinkie, I heard what you did to the others your just lucky the purple one used dark resurrection to bring back rainbow, I don’t give 2 shit’s nor one about rarity. He-he nopony did spark, no nopony did she said as I walked to the furthest room, only two corridors to go until I reach her chamber I said to myself as I entered the next room. I kept on walking; nopony in this corridor was even moving. I looked closer to see that the prisoners in this chamber were all dead from gunshot wounds. I looked up and smiled, im not alone in here I said to myself as I approached a large set of wooden doors reaching three quarters of the way to the ceiling.
I drew my grendle triple shot rifle from my back and forcedly bucked the doors open. It echoed throughout the hollow asylum. Only the worst of the worst were in this room, mass murderers, interdymetional criminals and the consperisists of the rainbow factory incident. I heard talking at the end of the hall. Every single prisoner in the retched place was babbling away completely ignoring my forceful entrance. I frowned and said to myself ‘’I don’t have time for this’’. I held my grendle in one hoof aiming at the roof and pulled the trigger once, firing 3 bullets strait through the roof. I felt Everypony’s cold evil eyes look at me with content and confusion. GOOD, now that I have your attention I need to ask you all a question. Where is RAINBOW DASH?

CHAPTER 8: EMPIRES AND ALLIES.
So, we got everything ready for when he picks us up sig? Shure do, just got to get the radar and were set he said with a grin walking over to it. I was heading over to help sig with it when I heard the radio turn on with a screech; a deep calming voice came through and said. This is commander clopheart to all remaining marine and mib operatives, princess cadence is dead; we will all be joining her shortly unless you all follow my instructions to the letter!
Everypony dropped what they were doing and gathered around me and the radio, the voice continued a few seconds later.
*ahem* in all medical attempts to reduce the speed of infection of the ceph spore, we have found no viable cure. A shoot to kill discretion has been vested throughout cobalt section under any suspicion of infection. Further to this, cobalt section squad: drab 7 has been marked mia and are an active bio-hazard, they are to be shot on sight. At this point, we are completely defenceless against the ceph army but we DO have heavy armour veacle’s waiting to take all of you to a safe, enclosed envorment where we can tool up and fight back. You have at most 24 hours to make your way back to rally point beta, after that you are ON…YOUR…OWN. Good luck marines, may celestia be with you.
The radio tuned out and every pony looked at me and took a step back. Storm got his pistol from his leg strap and muttered out; im sorry bon, I didn’t think you’d go out this way but we’ve been left with no other option. I am truly sorry for this betrayal. He pointed his gun between my eyes. I closed my eyes and waited for everything to go black then I heard a large amount of loud bangs.
I opened my eyes, I was covered in blood but it wasn’t mine. I looked up to see storm and kilowatt lying in separate pools of blood in front of me. I was in absolute shock. I tried to get up but my body wouldn’t let me. I was going to try again but then a pair of hoof’s grabbed me under the arms and helped me up. I turned around to see two ponies. One of them was sig but the other one I had never seen before. He was a grey unicorn with a silver mane and he had a smg strapped around his back. You ok bon bon? A shaken sig said kindly. Yhea I am but who’s the other guy? I don’t know he said. He just came out of nowhere and shot storm and watt.
Well clearly im on your side if you’re still alive the grey unicorn muttered while fiddling with something in his hoofs. Ohh yhea I guess we never thanked you for that did we? sig said nervously while scratching his neck. Don’t mention it he said cheerfully. He turned and trotted towards us; he then reached his hoof out and said. My names stinger but my friends just call me sting he delightfully said with a grin touching the sky. Um hi, im bon bon and this here is sigma protocol. Pleasure to make your acutance, but do you mind me asking where you got this black feather? He held up a pitch black feather. Oh that, its zero’s, he’s another friend. Why, do you know him I asked curiously? As a matter of fact I do, quite well actually? Really!?! I exclaimed in surprise. He doesn’t get out all that much and when he dose me and Lyra are with him. Oh yhea, he did mention you two once or twice? Where, I asked. AHHHHH, so z HAS been keeping secrets he exclaimed while rolling his eyes. He continued while sig wandered off. To be honest im not surprised, he has a thing for keeping secrets. What KIND of secrets? Heh, has he ever told you how old he is, trick question course he hasn’t, it would not boil down well if Everypony knew the truth. Man, I’ve known zero for AT LEAST 12 years now, im pretty Shure he’d be in his 20’s I said to him. You just don’t get it do you he slurred. WHAT! WHAT AREN’T I GETTING I yelled. I was getting pretty pissed of now.
Do you really what to know the truth but im warning you the truth hurts. Fine, whatever. Well to be fair when you said he’s in his 20’s you’d be right but you see, about 600 years ago he- he was interrupted by a loud burring sound. We looked up to see a huge flying hunk of metal. Sig was behind me and I heard him say; da fuck is that thing? I chuckled, that’s our ride. It was really loud and we could only just hear each other. I landed in front of us and my ears were ringing like bells. Sting and sig were brushing the dust out of their coats but I just stood there thinking, wow imagine if we had WALKED.
There was a sound of compressed air being released and the rear door like a castle door gradually came down. There was a small door heading to the cockpit and it opened to reveal a pitch black Pegasus with a red and blue mane. Common, I aint gunna wait all day, get your asses in here zero yelled at us. We all piled in and took a seat. Zero came fully out of the cockpit and closed the door behind him. Who man, you ok Was the first thing I said? His left front hoof was in a sling and was bleeding a little bit. Just a flesh wound, I’ll be fine. Dude, you have a bullet in your arm it’s hardly a flesh wound sting said sarcastically. Im not interested in your input sting we have a problem. What’s up sig asked. Well for starters I found the tardus. That’s a good thing isn’t it I said confused. Not when it’s soaked in blood it’s not. Everypony in the room even stinger turned serious once that was said.
Whose blood was is sig asked in a worried tone. It was impossible to tell im afraid but there was blood soaked light green fur all over the place and I think we all know what that means. Everypony’s worried faces turned even gloomier once that came out. Under my breath I muttered; Lyra……… no……
We can honour her sacrifice once this thing is over but I tell ya what, when I was on my way over here I saw hundreds of solders kicking ceph ass, so how’s about we go help em out he uttered with a sideways grin. He then walked back into the cockpit and started up the engine. I almost shed a tear during take-off but sig wouldn’t let me. We’d only known each other for a day, but he was already like a brother to me.
CHAPTER 2: DEVISTATION AND CONTEMPLATION.
I opened the door not knowing what had happened yet and walked out to find that it was absolutely freezing outside. Figuring this was just the cold from last night I moved on to find myself standing directly in front of a frozen body, a chill went up my spine as I looked at the frozen solid corpse. Bon was checking out another corpse but this one looked oddly familiar. I got my lighter from my jacket pocket and melted the ice around the head a little to see who it was but the thing that I found standing before me will haunt me in my dreams for the rest of my life.
There in front of me was a frozen solid twilight sparkle with a petrified expression on her face. All colours had been drained from her eyes and she’d been running from something, but what? We both looked each other thinking the same thing; what the hell is going on? We both took a cliché gulp and continued. I’ve seen things like this happen, things like rainbow factory but this is just damn right clueless. Worst thing is twilight wasn’t the only one. Ten’s upon twenties of frozen pony’s all running, but from what?
We were just passing town hall when an idea struck me like a sack of bricks. What if like us some ponies were somehow unaffected and looking for survivors. We stopped both at the same time; we must be thinking the same thing I said to bon. She nodded and we hastily made our way to zero’s house. No this can’t be right I said to myself. Zero’s house was completely unaffected, not an inch of snow within a 2 meter radius of his porch. For some reason my gut said that is was a trap, but I ignored it since one of my best friends may be still alive and well. Zero? You home? I shouted at the door still aiming my gun directly at it.
No response. I gave bon the hoof signal to advance but I instantly stopped once I saw what was inside. Only just being able to see thru the window I went closer and found a black and gold manned Pegasus sleeping on the polar fleece carpet. It was GOLDEN SPARKLE! True question was; what in equestria was he doing in zero’s house? Quietly opening the door and entering, he slowly woke up but didn’t notice we were even inside. It was at least 20 degrees in there and the heat pump was going, zero is either here or just left. YAWN what are you two doing here? He asked while scratching his ass.
We were looking for survivors and we found you. Survivors? He said yawning again. You mean you don’t know bon asked. I don’t know, I don’t really remember much from last night actually he said while putting his hoof to his fore head. Zero and I were at a bar and the last thing I remember is a storm brewing ARRG! He put his hoof back to his head. Bon put her weapon on the floor and trotted over to him and knelt down in front of him. You’ve got a nasty bruise man; you hit your head or something? I don’t know, I told you the last thing I remember are that there was a storm on its way. I interrupted bon before she could start and asked; this storm, can you describe it? Hmmmmm he mumbled. No sorry, all I can remember is that it was pitch black and zero had to use his belt torch to find the path then poof! I wake up to find you guys. I’d tell you to go ask zero but the booze was already starting to take control in the storm so he probably has a hangover, and a bit of liver cancer due to the amount beer HE drunk.
There was a thud upstairs and a painful groan. Well there’s your answer girls. Well then maybe you should look outsi- WILL YOU SHUT UP!? IM TRYING TO GET SOME FUCKING SLEEP UP HERE! Well good morning to you too bon said sarcastically. Bahhh ignore it, that’s just the booze talking. Better be! Bon said angrily. So anyway what did you want me to- once he looked outside it was clear his heart had missed a beat. H-how did this happen? W-when did this happen? 5:04 am. How do you know? That’s when my clock stopped.
Wh-w-what’s that? He pointed his hoof to a frozen pony which looked to be berry bunch. Uhh that’s a frozen pony. WHAT!!! But golden didn’t say this, it was zero. The pitch black Pegasus raced down the stairs and out the door. We all looked at each other then went outside. Ohhhh no zero said. This is the first time I’ve seen him this worried bon said into my ear. Should we be worried?
This CANNOT be happening, not now. Zero do you know what’s going on? Unfortunately so. Has there been any frozen body’s Lyra? Yes, many. God DAMNIT!!! It echoed throughout the empty soul of a city this was. Zero, what’s going on? I asked softly. They, he sighed, they have come back. Who or what have come back? The bustards that started our line of work. The CEPH!?!?! We all said simotaniosly. But that’s impossible! We wiped them out bon said in a worried tone. And now, there back to return the favour.
2 HOURS LATER……
Bon and I were wondering around wondering what would happen next, golden was scared shitless about whether his twin sister spark gold was ok and zero was for some reason doing some measurements and marking’s the snow. Lyra get over here he shouted. What’s up zero? Well by my calculations this canvas that I’ve drawn in the snow should allow you to focus your magic enough to perform a pps or portable protection spell. Why do we need a protection spell bon asked? The ceph have been known to release spores witch contain the Ebola virus. And we all know what happened last time there was an outbreak.
Ok Everypony in the circle zero ordered. Will it hurt us? Golden asked. No, really it just feels like a giant condom is being stretched over your entire body. Everypony cringed. Alrighty then Lyra, on with it. Ok here I go. I concentrated as hard as I could and zero wasn’t kidding, it felt much more channelled than normal spells but it still was no easy task. I kept on forcing every last bit of magic a had within me toward the spell, I felt a sweat run down my fore head but the amount of effort I was putting into this spell must have evaporated it. Everything tuned a light shade of blue and then darkness.
I was floating in pitch black. I was looking around for a way out when I heard breathing, I looked down to see zero somewhat on a floor. I floated down to him and rolled him over and I almost had a heart attack when I saw his face. I tried to remove what I just saw from my mind but it had now been engraved there forever. His face was burnt off, slowly by the look of it. I got up from my haunches and walked away when I heard him whisper quietly. Peace is irrelevant. I turned as fast as possible but it was too late, he was gone.
