Journal Entry #39
July 23rd, 1003 ANM (After Nightmare Moon)
8th month, 18th day since Displacement

It’s been a while since my last journal entry. Actually looking through this my last one was nearly two months ago. But, I think with everything that had been going on lately, I was justified in my lack in updates. I guess I should try and catch up from my last entry. Hold on a second....ah, here we go. My last one was after Asta visited. I wonder how he is doing.

Anyways, back on track. So, the members have been working hard, and not just doing jobs I mean. Most of the new members had been hitting the gym like crazy, most gaining a firm grasp on their magic by the time the Download spell wore off.

My little girls had been practicing like crazy, gaining a firm and strong understanding of their God Slayer magics while also learning the ins and outs of their secondary magic. Mei had become something of a guild fortune teller, being able to divine the future with her cards so accurately not even Cana could compete. Kuna had been really busy on her off time, not just learning her Sky God Slayer spells, but also practicing her natural Changeling magic. She had begun to shapeshift, but not without someone nearby to keep an eye on her. Since she is still the only changeling in the guild, there hasn’t been much anyone aside from me have been able to help her in that regard. Ammy had proven herself to be a master wizard in the making, soaking up all the information about her magic like a sponge in the ocean. I don’t think I could be prouder as not just their mother, but as the guild master as well.

Aside from my daughters, there have been a few notable members that have been cause for attention.

Aspen and Maddie have taken to their respective magics well, the older abyssian being able to maintain her connection with nature incredibly well, easily being able to sense what is around her as she meditated from nothing by the trees sending her information. Maddie had ventured into the crevice around the castle to practice her Terrain Effect magic, making a small Lave pool and practicing controlling the wind with Gale Force and Scorching Wind.

Dawn had been an expected, but still welcome master, learning the ins and outs of Airspace magic within a couple of weeks, before moving on to practicing both his keyblade forms as well as his Gale King fighting style. He has been having a bit of trouble interacting with the town's ponies and others his age, but it has mostly been from him having limited positive interactions from ponies outside of the guild before.

The biggest surprise for the guild had actually been from Kathrine. That hybrid...the only thing to describe her would be untapped potential prodigy. Even when she was bed bound at the hospital I knew she was special, but I didn’t expect it to be by this degree. When she got out I saw her more often then not in the library studying magic, exercising at the gym or meditating near the Tree of Harmony.

After I gave Kat her sword she worked like a madwoman in the library, reading damn near every book I made about kenjutsu, going through every single book in the Kimetsu No Yaiba section I made, going through all the stances and forms. She doesn’t seem to have a preferred form, instead combining all of her practice into her own unique hybrid form kinda like Inosuke or Zoro. Not unlike what she is now that I write this down.

Her magic had been something of pride for her. Everyone knew that she had way more magic than expected, the doctors I consulted saying her abnormally large amount of magic probably being the reason she even managed to survive so long on the streets before Echo found her and her friends. Not only had she been casting without any hand movements, she had actually managed to cast some Kido spells without the incantations!

That girl is a prodigy, plain and simple. She had actually been able to keep up with Azure and Wind in a couple of spar, tagging both guards repeatedly. She had been practicing against several of the members with her Bakudō spells, while practicing her Hado spells at the ranges. She has had little chance to utilize Kaido healing spells, aside from healing some of Fluttershy’s animal friends when they get hurt.

Luna had bonded with her spirits like they had known one another for years, enjoying her time off talking with them about their history, playing with Ares and her Nikora whom she nicknamed Cosmos. Unlike Plue, her Nikora was mostly a powder blue with beady green eyes and the spiral of his orange nose had a red tint to it. Leo, Libra and Ares have been helping her train in their magics when she uses Star Dress. They had also been training with her when she uses the Bronze Keys to summon weapons and tools. Now she can easily summon two Bronze spirits and one Zodiac spirit at the same time, but she can only summon two Zodiac spirits at a time, and even then she get tired was faster than Lucy and Yukino would.

The Exceeds had been working with Echo and Capper nearly every day, already managing to use Transformation magic to turn into their neko forms. Their secondary magic had been a little slower progress, but it was still working. Like Echo, once they managed to transform and maintain their Neko forms, they can release more magical energy than in their regular forms, making them all the more powerful. Aside from that, I noticed that the Exceeds seemed to gravitate to one of the dragons on instinct, acting like Carla, Happy and Pantherlily.

Reni and Gil had been working together to practice their magic, the former consuming any mistakes the latter makes. Marnie had been following Amber around and acting like a worried older sister, much to the dragonesses embarrassment and secret enjoyment. Joy had been sparing against Laruma from time to time, Storm magic fighting against Rainbow light. And Saya had been studying and hanging out with Fizzle whenever he is free. Echo and Spike spent quite a bit of time together as well, the former when Sonbā doesn’t have a flying lesson or is taking care of the girls.

Aside from the newer members, everyone else in the guild had been progressing at such a steady pace, I barely need to make clones for them to train with, sparing and training with their fellow guild mates first before coming to me. When they do, I either make a couple clones, or I go with when I have the time away from paperwork and experimenting with new magic and spells.

Another couple of things that happened was the project I was diverting some personal and guild funds to, being the construction of a personal airship for the guild so incase a large amount of the members need to go someplace pretty far away, as I wrote several times before. I got a message from the lead contractor stating that the ship should be finished later tomorrow. The company I commissioned sent me a couple manuals about Airship maintenance and how to actually control it.

I can’t wait for it to be finished, I even made a secret ‘garage’ to have it stay in. It is actually right next to the apartments, but I used Hidden magic to make it invisible and added a couple of enchantments to keep everyone away until the ship is ready.

Second, and arguably the most WTF part, Celestia all but hired Twilight and her friends to reform Discord. I didn’t know much the draconequus personally, but according to Adam after I called and asked about the Spirit of Chaos, I wasn’t too worried. I knew the girls could handle him, and they proved it as not only did Twilight manage to write a complex enchantment to block his chaos magic (I am so proud), they managed to get him to come down to their level, seeing life as a pony, before introducing him to the guild. I guess seeing such a chaotic menagerie of creatures helped him come around.

I did talk to him about those black seeds I have been digging up in the Everfree, and he admitted to planting them near the end of his reign over a millennium ago. After some talking, and yes I mean an actual conversation, he started working with the robot version of Melissa to find and dig up all the seeds. We actually kept them in the back room instead of destroying them since Discord got rid of the magic, and I figured they could come in handy later if need be.

Not going to lie, I may have eaten a few to see if they were like sunflower seeds. They were in the sense they crack open and you can eat the thing on the inside, but their taste is random from seed to seed. So not something I want since they can be ANYTHING.

Discord hadn’t tried to become a member or anything, but he does hang around the guild when he isn’t in his house in the sixth dimension or pranking ponies around town. At least now the pranks are legitimately harmless.

Oh! Another thing that happened that is a lot more personal. Yoru’s wings sprouted! I was a little worried at first when I talked with uncle Ed, talking about how she is technically a born alicorn, but I learned that while she is one, her magic was still a little unstable from the transmutation so it needed to completely stabilize before she ‘ascended’ into an alicorn like her father, having taken a unicorn appearance as opposed to pegasus or Earth Pony first since Sonbā was originally a unicorn. It happed about a month ago, and she has been, well, admittedly a bit of a pain since she keeps flying around, but Echo had been following her when she was in the air so she wouldn’t fly into anything.

I got a letter from Celestia earlier today. She said she wanted to meet with me about a potential job in a couple days. She said Luna would be part of it, since it was an escort mission, but she considers it S-class. I hope it isn’t too dangerous. I don’t really want to miss anything here in the guild since I won’t be able to take the kids with.

Anyways, it’s late right now, and I still have some paperwork to finish, so I am going to leave this entry here.

Bye current me, stay safe.

I sighed, putting down the pen and closing my journal, placing it into the cubby I had by my desk. I started writing a journal not long before the guild opened, Rarity recommending it to help me focus my thoughts after a tough day. It helped a lot, letting me keep track of things as they changed.

I sighed again, stretching my arms before making my way out of my office into the guilds hallways. I checked in on the kids, the two bunk beds having been refurbished to include a two-year-old-appearing Yoru as she didn’t want to stay in a crib anymore. Even though she somehow always ends up in my bed, she never made a fuss about sleeping in the same room as her sisters, the girls asking for bunk beds instead of individual beds so they have more room in the room.

Something they took full advantage of as each corner of the room was seemingly individualized as, Mei taking the far right corner, Ammy taking the far left, Kuna taking the closest right while they left the last corner free for their sister.

I knew eventually I would need to give them their own rooms as they got older, but for now, I was enjoying the time where they were just kids. They deserve to have that time, especially after everything they all went through personally.

I closed the door and made my way to my room, yawning again as I stretched my back, the strain from my chest making me have all the more respect for Aspen and Kat, who have the same problem. At least with Aspen she is ripped enough that it doesn’t bother her. I know Kat had to special order her bras from Rarity since her girls are naturally more sensitive for some reason.

I sighed again as I entered my room, immediately stripping off my kimono and skirt and walking to the bathroom to take a quick shower. One of the immense luxuries of the guild was that the water and electrical bill were way better than any place back on earth, the utilities not even make the barest of a scratch on the guild reserves. If anything the commission on the airship and paying for the guild property damage cost more than it did to keep the guild running.

After I finished my nightly routine, I made my way to the bed, a little upset Sonbā was staying overnight in Las Pegasus after completing a quest late, so the bed seemed a little big for me. I didn’t have that problem before, but regularly sharing a bed with someone instantly made it look a little lonely and big afterwards.

I flopped onto the bed, rolling around a bit (honestly even I don’t know why), before finally getting under the covers and setting my phones alarm to wake me up at dawn. Celestia asked me to come in around noon, so I would have plenty of time to catch a train and finish approving or declining any quests that may come in before then.

Shame I didn’t know how much I was going to learn, or I would have brought Twilight.

The Next Day
Canterlot Royal Dining Hall

“You want me and the guild to do what?” I blinked a couple times, trying to make sure I heard the solar princess right.

“I want you and a few of your guild members to escort myself and my sister to Zebrica so we may begin forging a peace treaty with a new civilization that has been encountered.”

“Ok, I thought that was what you said. And I repeat, What?!”

I was understandably a little, ok a lot, shocked by the quest. For the first time since I got to this world, I was going to be going beyond the borders of Equestria, to an entirely new continent to the southeast of this land. I was in the dining room with both royal sisters, having a lovely lunch over talking about the request, one that made me short circuit.

“I do not understand myself sister. Who is this new civilization you speak of?” Luna questioned, Cosmos sitting in her lap.

“I’ll start from the beginning. A few months ago, I got a correspondence with the current ruler of Zebrica, Prince Zaka, about a group of ships not recognized entering his waters. At first, he believed them to possibly be from the Minotaur Kingdom, or even from Seaquestria, but they didn’t have the right colours or markings. It was only after actually coming face to face with the crew did he realize they were something else entirely.

They call themselves, Yokai.” I perked up, my eyes widening. “There were several different creatures manning the boats, and they spoke a language not too dissimilar to that Japanese language you speak Lex. It took a while, but eventually a bookkeeper to the Prince managed to get a rough translation matrix made, and they explained the group was that of explorers venturing off from their homeland of the Yokai Archipelago, far to the east of Zebrica. They only recently decided to begin adventuring beyond their waters, having been content until then to live their lives in the little section of the world.

This was about three months ago, and since then several boats from the Yokai’s home have managed to make their way back to Zebrica after the first group returned to their home to share their findings. Now, Zaka sent them with a message to their leaders to come to Zebrica, to potentially forge a peace and trading treaty, and since he was an old friend, I knew his family for centuries, he extended the invite to me and Luna to make our own treaties. The meeting is in three weeks. It will take one to get to Zebrica, and since this is a very new group, I figured what better way to show our tolerance by having several independent creatures coming with.”

I blinked a couple times, trying process everything I just heard. I looked down at the map of this world before, one Luna had brought out of her room at her sisters request. It had highlighted the currently known kingdoms, principalities, countries etc.

At the centre of the map was Equestria the large country being rather prominent as one of the biggest on the planet with several connecting countries next to it like America, though its size makes me thing it more akin to Europe. To the north was the Crystal Empire, marked with a pink bubble where Shining and Cadance ruled. After that was the country of Yakyakistan, lead by that Prince Rutherford, and right next door was the hearty land known as Wintergard, basically this worlds Russia, which is inhabited by the Caribou, a hearty people of tradition as they live in clans with a mix of modern and tribal hierarchy.

Just beyond the Crystal Empire is the provinces of Caninda, literally Canada, and its inhabited mainly by Gem Hounds, Moose, and Deer, complete with a Gem Hound Prime Minister according to Sythe. Going to the Far East of this landmass, there is a connection that leads to the Griffon Kingdom known as Griffonstone, which, according to Gilda, had long since fallen to ruin and greed. And just south of the avian kingdom was the Ruling Kingdom of the Minotaurs ruled by a longstanding royal family according to Bertha and Cobalt.

The Badlands seemingly split the world, leading to Saddle Arabia, home to not only Desert Ponies, but also the large Horses, who average Celestia’s height apparently, and ruled by another royal family and was home to the Sphinx species.

To the south of the desert that was Saddle Arabia, there was a large rainforest that apparently was home to the Kirin, the Peaks of Peril but they haven’t had contact with the dragon ponies in at least a hundred years. Which really makes me question how those slavers found Mei, and also the fact that so much of the Kirin history was lost.

Celestia explained that part as a racist group of unicorns who used to work for her secretly infiltrating several information gathering jobs, librarians, historians, janitors etc and slowly destroying the texts. It was only by chance that one of Celestia’s former students questioned the princess about the lack of information on the Kirin aside from a legend of the Nirik that she realized what was happening. After that, it was a manhunt for those who destroyed the text that lasted nearly a decade, but even when it was finished, texts were still destroyed and the Kirin were naturally weary of outsiders so there is next to nothing written about them.

Anyways, next was the mountains of Mount Aris, home to the Hippogriffs, but they had also fallen out of contact with them several years ago. To the south of the mountains, in the middle of the sea was the underwater kingdom of Seaquestria, home of sea ponies and Sirens. Though the pony Atlantis had been so neutral as to nearly isolate themselves from the outside world.

Originally, just between Mount Aris and Seaquestria was the island kingdom of Panthera, but the Storm Kingdom to the west destroyed it, scattering the Abyssians. After that, the Storm Kingdom just kept absorbing more smaller kingdoms, while being nearly impenetrable due to the perpetual cursed storm surrounding the island kingdom. Apparently the current Storm King has been less than nice as no diplomat has been selected for the lack of talks.

Lastly, there is the large mass of lava and rock that is the Dragon Lands, not really a question of what and who lives there. Apparently the current Dragon Lord Torch is an old acquaintance of Celestia, being the Spike to her Twilight as it were.

I looked over the map again, seeing the section Celestia highlighted as the area where these ‘Yokai’ lived, to the Far Southeast, between Mount Aris and Zebrica. the map was blank, only have the image of foggy water over the area, as well as the other large spaces of water on the map.

“Ok, you want to hire several of the members of the guild to come with you, not just as protection, but to show these Yokai that Equestria is tolerant to other species?” I clarified.

“That is about it. I can provide the transport and supplied, and I would have you and your guild members with us as extra protections. I will also be officially requesting this as a SS-class quest due to the nature of it and your guilds own rules.” She offered, making me tilt my head, before shaking it.

“I would accept the latter part of supplies and the quest, but we don’t need the transport.” Luna and Celestia looked to me with confused eyes. I dug into the bag I brought with me, and took out what was basically the receipt for the airship, as well as the blueprints, surprising the solar alicorn. “I had this commissioned a couple of months ago, not long before the promotion exam. I figured eventually we would have to go farther than the trains could reach, so I wanted to be prepared. It’s all finished as I have several of my clone studying the manuals the company provided so I can use it myself.”

“Well, you certainly seem to be on top of thing my Faekage.” Luna complimented, Cosmos giving a happy noise in agreement.

“I try. Apparently maternal instincts also make me more forward thinking.” I replied, putting the receipt away and opening an Archive screen to make a note for Capper for later. “Anyways, when are we leaving for Zebrica so I can get everything ready?”

“I have been preparing our escorts, so we will be leaving within one week. I apologize if this is too abrupt for you.”

“It’s no problem Celestia. That will give me plenty of time to select who will come with.” I replied with a grin, already going through who would be able to come with. I spent the rest of the day at the castle, talking with Celestia and Luna about what to expect when we leave, while also secretly creating and dispelling a clone so the rest of my clones know what is going on so I can work faster.

Gods that technique is broken.

I had a lot of work ahead of me when I get back to the guild.

Later that Evening

“Alright, thank you everyone for coming on such short notice.” I thanked, looking over the guild as all the members sat around, some at tables and some at the bar. Yoru was sitting in her fathers lap as Sonbāsuta sat at a table with the girls.

“What’s going on Lex? I assume it had to do with your meeting with the princess?” Twilight questioned, earning a nod from me.

“That’s correct Twilight. The guild has been given an SS-Class quest from Princess Celestia, to escort her, Luna and a couple of diplomats to the kingdom of Zebrica to make a peace treaty with a newly discovered kingdom.” I explained, earning many shocked looks, wide eyes and gaping mouths. “Now, since this is such a high levelled quest, I would normally be going alone or summoning a Displaced to help. However Celestia specifically asked for several members from the guild to come with to show Equestria’s tolerance to different species.

If this were a simple round trip for something like a vacation I would only bring a small number of members.” I grinned a big grin. “However, Celestia never stated just how members she wanted to come with.” Some of the members began to catch on, but were still a little confused.

“Ever since the guild first opened, I have been diverting many of both my personal funds, as well as a not so small chunk of the guilds annual funds into the construction of a special airship to transport the guild should we need be. At first, I thought it would be used for emergency repairs on the guild, but once I realized how useful Arc of Time magic was for repairs, I began to use it for the airship. The ship had been completed earlier today, and will be ready to go by the coming week. It is more than big enough to be considered a mobile guild hall, so there is no reason for everyone to stay here.”

Many of the guild members went wide eyed, finally catching on to what I was saying. “So, with that in mind, unless you can’t afford to leave due to work or something along that nature, I would like to request the whole guild come with.”

“Seriously?! All of us going to another country?!” I turned to RD as she yelled that, but she was yelling in worry, but excitement. “Hell yeah! Count me in!”

“I’m in too!” Pinkie bounced around, beginning her rambling about throwing a party for the new civilization I mentioned.

“Classes are off for another month for the summer, so we’re in too!” The CMC yelled, Dawn just nodding next to them. Their yell made me frown for a moment at their excitement.

“Now, I know all of you are excited, but let me remind you we aren’t going on a vacation.” I looked at each member in the eyes. “We are going as escorts for royalty to make a peace treaty with an as of yet unknown race of creatures that have just recently left their own borders. I do not want to give off the wrong impressions. So I expect all of you to be on your best behaviours. The younger members, I expect you to stick to your guardians like glue, do not wander off when we land, and everyone is to maintain contact telepathic contact. ”

Everyone nodded, listening as they heard just how serious I was.

“Zecora, you were originally from Zebrica, so I am going to have to default to you for things like customs so we don’t spark an international incident.” The only zebra in the guild nodded, knowing her importance for this quest.

“Shining and Cadance, you two are still needed to rule the Crystal Empire, so unfortunately you two can’t come.” The two looked a little disappointed, but nodded all the same. They knew their duties to their kingdom outweighed their duty to the guild.

“Twilight, Rainbow, Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie and Fluttershy. Since Celestia had already planned on you six accompanying her, she will be bringing your elements, so just letting you know.” The six mares nodded, realizing how serious this is if their elements are being brought along.

“Lastly, ‘sigh’ the CMC.” The three fillies perked up. “Don’t. Wreck. Anything. Or I swear you will be doing the lowest level quests for a year.”

“Y-y-yes Ma’am!” The trio nervously saluted, knowing some of the worst (most boring) jobs the guild can get.

“Everyone else. I want you to train up. Gather everything you think you might need for a month long trip, clothes, books, games, whatever you think you need. But don’t go overboard with things. Rarity.” The unicorn blushed and rubbed her head. “Twilight, I want you to find and grab any books you have about Zebrica from your library and cross reference with Zecora so we know what we are dealing with.” The other unicorn nodded, smiling in excitement. I looked over everyone, seeing many were excited for this chance.

“That’s all for now. I am going to keep in touch with Celestia, and let you all know about any changes as they pop up. For now, everyone get some rest. We’ll start packing and getting ready to leave in the morning. We leave in one week.”

The crowd quickly dispersed, going to their own homes/apartments for the night, their minds full. I sighed, reaching behind the bar and taking out a bottle of cider.

“So, leaving the country huh?” I chuckled, not even looking up as Sonbā and the girls walked over.

“Only for a month if all goes smoothly. With any luck we’ll be able to get this done quick, and maybe schedule visits to the land of the Yokai.” I chuckled, downing the bottle in my hand with a sigh. “I think it would be cool to have some more diversity in the guild.”

“Like this menagerie of characters isn’t enough?” He joked, earning a laugh from the girls, the youngest of which I picked up and placed in my lap. She immediately nuzzled into my chest, she was a quiet kid.

“Hey, I won’t say no to new members remember, we’re all family here at the guild.” I grinned, patting my youngest head before frowning as I noticed a couple of her feathers were messed up, which I very carefully fixed. Thank goodness I talked to some of the Pegasi on the guild on how to preen my daughters wings myself.

“So, is the airship ready?” Echo questioned, the Exceed having flown back in her Neko form after everyone left.

“Yup, just a few more days of charging and the ship will be ready to leave. It’s already finished construction, wiring and plumbing, so all that’s left is to stock it full of supplies and to power it up.” I answered, gently rocking Yoru as she yawned, clearly ready for bed.

“Alright. I’ll tell Ditzy to forward any letters from the princesses to you immediately in the morning while we get everything ready. Until then, we should try and relax for a bit.” Sonbāsuta suggested.

That was something I agreed with. This will be my first major adventure, a trip outside the borders of this country into a new one. A chance to meet so many new people and creatures.

Never a dull moment here in Fairy Tail.
