The Not so Averge Life of a Once Human Now Pony Named Minra

Chapter Four

“Hey Twilight what are you going as for Halloween?” Minra asked.

“Hallo-what?” Twilight asked in confusion.

“Let me guess you don’t have Halloween in this world do you?” Minra asked.

Twilight shook her head.

“Well it’s a holiday where people get dressed up in costumes and go around houses and saying trick or treat for candy, however there’s also parties, fairs, movies, but one of my favorite things to do is carve pumpkins along with decorating.” Minra said

“Oh really tell me more like it’s origins and other traditions?” Twilight asked.

“Well I don’t know the exact origins but I do know why people dress up and carve pumpkins.”

“Oh tell me!” Twilight said excitedly.

“Well the reason why is to keep evil spirits away and to honor the nice ones, as for pumpkin carving it originally started with turnips and putting embers in them, until some people came to America otherwise known as the New World at the time and found pumpkins and figured they were easier to carve since they were already hallow-een-side.” Minra said jokingly.

Pinkie Pie suddenly appeared out of know where with a drum set and played the all to familiar sound, bud-um-tis. Pinkie Pie giggled then asked what the two of them where talking about.

“Oh, I was just telling Twilight about a holiday from my world called Halloween.” Minra said.

Twilight jumped in saying that Halloween sounded like Nightmare Night.

“Oh really does Halloween have a tradition where you offer candy to a statue of Nightmare Moon.

“Wait who’s Nightmare Moon?” Minra asked.

“Oh she’s just the evil version of Princess Luna.” Pinkie Pie answered.

“Wait Princess Luna is Nightmare Moon, she seemed so nice.” Minra said shocked.

“How do you know of Princess Luna?” Twilight asked

“Oh I saw her in a dream that I had.” Minra said.

“Oh okay but don’t worry she’s good now.” Twilight said.

“That’s good so anyway what are you going as for Hall-er Nightmare Night?” Minra asked the two ponies.

“I’m going as a zombie baker.” Pinkie Pie said cheerfully.

“What about you, Minra what are you going as?” Pinkie Pie asked.

“I’m going as a demon with the help of my dragon form.” Minra said.

“Oh cool, so what about you Twilight?” Pinkie Pie asked.

“I don’t know what I’m going as.” Twilight said.

“How about a mad scientist?” Pinkie Pie suggested.

“Great idea Pinkie Pie.” Twilight said.

“I know.” Pinkie Pie said hopping away.

Twilight saw that Minra was deep in thought so she asked him what he was thinking about.

“Oh I was just thinking we could have a Nightmare Night party at the school.” Minra said.

“That’s a really good idea Minra!” Twilight said excitedly.

“Cover your ears Minra this is gonna be loud.” Twilight said.

Minra covered his ears with his hooves as Twilight shouted that she needed a party planner, and right after she said that Pinkie Pie suddenly appeared in front of the two ponies.

“Agent Pinkie Pie is here!” Pinkie Pie shouted raising a hoof to her head.

“Pinkie Pie we are gonna throw a Nightmare Night part at the school!” Twilight told her.

“I’m on the case!” Pinkie Pie said dashing off.

Several weeks had went by when Nightmare Night had finally arrived and after every student had went home to change into their costumes the one and only Pinkie Pie brought out her party canon (spooky addition) then she began firing the cannon all over the school. When she was done the school had official been turned into a haunted school, complete with cobwebs among various decorations, several fog machines, some games here and for the final touches the entrance had been turned into a dance floor with a DJ booth, and a food stand that was made with the help of Sugarcube Corner and the Apple family. Vynal Scratch an eggshell white unicorn with magenta eyes, a blue mane and tale with sunglasses and a musical note as her cutie mark was the DJ for the party, she’d dressed as a banshee.

The CMC crew dressed as what they called the “Terrifying Trio!” with them dressing up as undead monsters such as Sweetie Bell dressing up as a vampire, Scootalo dressing up as a ghost and Applebloom dressing up as a skeleton. Applejack chose to be a scarecrow for her costume. Rarity decided to dress up as her favorite book character, Shadow Spade. Rainbow Dash dressed up as a rock-star. Sandbar, Smolder, Silverstream, Yona, Gallus and Ocellus showed up as well with only a few of them dressing up. Naturally Ocellus didn’t need to dress up because she could change her appearance and in doing so she chose the headless stallion. Sandbar went as ghost, while Silverstreem went as a which, and Yona as the spider queen. Gallus and Smolder didn’t really feel like dressing up however they still attended. Then there’s spike who decided to go as a cat of all things in hopes Rarity would like his costume enough that she’ll go out with him. However there was one pony who Minra didn’t see and it was Fluttershy, and when he asked his friends about why she wasn’t there.

“Well you see Minra, she doesn’t like Nightmare Night because it scares her.” Twilight said while kicking at the ground.

“Oh okay, well I’m gonna go...” Minra said.

“Are you sure, the party only just began are you sure you want to go?” Twilight asked.

“Yea I’m not feeling well so I’m gonna turn in for the night.” Minra said.

“Oh okay we’ll save you some candy.” Twilight said.

“You don’t have to do that Twilight.” Minra said as he walked back to the castle.

Minra took off his costume and left a note on his bedroom door say that he was sorry for lying about being ill, he just wanted to at least to give Fluttershy his company. Minra knew that Fluttershy had her animal friends but still wanting to keep her company through the night she was scared of the most. Minra trotted to Fluttershy’s cottage and knocked on the door and when he did a bear had opened the door.

“Um I heard that Fluttershy doesn’t like Nightmare Night so I came to keep her company, if that’s okay?” Minra asked.

The bear simply raised one claw and closed the door as if it were saying please wait a minute. When the door opened Minra expected to see the bear but instead he saw Fluttershy standing in front of him with a worried look on her face.

“Wh-what are you doing here?” Fluttershy asked.

“I heard you didn’t like Nightmare Night because it scares you so I came to keep you company.” Minra said with a smile.

“That’s really nice of you Minra, but wouldn’t you rather be out with our friends and getting candy?” Fluttershy asked.

“I would however you’re my friend as well and I’m willing to keep you company just to keep you from being scared even if that means missing out on one of my favorite holidays.” Minra said proudly.

Blushing slightly Fluttershy gave a shy: “Oh okay want to come in?”

“Sure.” Minra said.

Fluttershy motioned for him to come in giving off a small smile.

“So what do you normally do for Nightmare Night, if you don’t mind me asking that is?” Minra asked.

“Well Harry, the bear you just met usually creates a hiding spot under my bed for me to hide in until morning the next day, it might be a little cramp but there should be enough room for all of us.” Fluttershy said as she quickly closed the door and locked it.

“What do you wanna do?” Minra asked.

“Well I was thinking we could watch some ICylinder videos on my tablet if that’s okay or we could play some Tincrea?” Fluttershy asked.

Several hours of playing games and watching videos Minra told Fluttershy that he had to go home when she said something that he was not expecting but was still happy to hear it.

“Minra um could you p-please sleep in my bed with me?” Fluttershy asked blushing.

“Wh-why? Minra asked embarrassed.

“Well even though Nightmare Night is almost over I still get scared of the dark and I realized that being near you had made me less scared.” Fluttershy explained while getting redder and redder until her face was as red as a newly ripe red apple.

Deciding that if it made her less scared then that is what counts Minra agreed to sleep in the same bed as her. The both of them promised themselves that they were only sleeping in the same bead together nothing more nothing less. However when they woke up the next morning Fluttershy and Minra were shocked to finding themselves holding each other in their legs, but when neither of them said they had done it Fluttershy and Minra just concluded that the two of them must of done that in their sleep and upon asking Fluttershy’s animal friends if they had done anything more then just cuddle Fluttershy’s animal friends shook their heads in unison.

“Th-thanks for allowing me keep you company.” Minra said.

“Oh it’s no problem, thank you for being here.” Fluttershy said shyly.

There was an awkward pause before Minra said he had to get home to feed Sunshine and hoping that Twilight and Spike weren’t mad about him lying to them about being ill. As the two of them waved each-other goodbye they secretly squealed inside. When Minra got back to the castle Twilight was waiting for him.

“Sorry for lying to you about being ill I just wanted to keep” Minra said as Twilight cut him off.

“Oh don’t apologize, you lied so you could keep Fluttershy from getting scared right?” Twilight asked.

Minra nodded in agreement.

“Though I do have one question, why did you spend the night with her?” Twilight asked.

Blushing bright red Minra told Twilight about how she felt less scared around him and asked him to sleep in the same bed as her.

Upon hearing this Twilight decided to tease Minra by asking if they had done anything while they were “asleep”? Minra blushed even brighter and quietly say they cuddled.

“I’m sorry what was that?” Twilight asked.

“We cuddled...”

“Huh can you say that louder?” Twilight asked again.

Sighing in defeat Minra told her that they cuddled but not to tell anyone.

“Don’t worry I won’t.” Twilight said putting a hoof up to her chest.

Later that day Minra was drawing when he heard a tapping at his bedroom window and when he looked it was one of Fluttershy’s birds with a letter in their mouth and upon taking the letter the bird flew off. Upon reading the letter Minra squealed in excitement and joy.

Dear Minra,

Thank you for keeping me company last night I had more fun and felt less scared then I ever have on any other Nightmare Night, I hope we could do that again sometime.

P.S. Can you meet me at the park in Ponyville tomorrow, you know if you so want.

Twilight walked into Minra’s room only to see him squealing and rolling around on the floor with some sort of paper in his hooves. Upon realization that he had an audience, Minra got up and held the paper behind him while blushing rose red.

“So, am I interrupting something?” Twilight asked.

“N-no nothing at all!” Minra said in embarrassment.

The next day Minra got ready and headed to the spot where he was supposed to meet Fluttershy. When he got there he saw that she had already gotten everything ready with a red and white checkerboard styled blanket with a picnic basket.

“I’m gl-glad you could make it, I hope you don’t mind having a picnic?” Fluttershy asked blushing.

“I would like to.” Minra responded.

After a while Fluttershy told Minra something that he didn’t expect.

“Minra, I...I love you!” Fluttershy said blushing.

Blushing brightly Minra hugged the yellow pegasis her, whispered in her ear.

“W-would you like to be m-my marefriend?” Minra asked.

Fluttershy simply just gave him a peck on his cheek. Later Minra brought Fluttershy to her cottage where before Minra went home he hugged her and spoke the same words that she had said to him. After arriving home Twilight greeted him and asked.

“So...how was your date?”

However judging by the expression on his face Twilight had gotten her answer.
