Starfleet Season 2 (Rewrite)

Two weeks have passed and there have been no sign of Team Rocket. In the meantime, Sapphire was training with her pokemon. She was training with Ampharos and Lycanroc (Dusk Form). "Ampharos, Thunderpunch!"

"Dusk, Rock Throw!" Ampharos rushed towards the wolf pokemon with it's right fist bursting with electrical energy. Dusk leaped into the air and hurled rocks at Ampharos, whom batted them away with it's Thunderpunch. "Now Ampharos, use Iron Tail and Dusk, use Accelarock!"

Dusk charged towards Ampahros from the air while Ampharos leapt into the air and counted with his steel tail. Both pokemon landed safety on the ground. "Great job, you two. That'll be enough for today." Ampharos and Dusk cried happily. Suddenly...

"Sapphire!"

"Huh?" Sapphire looked behind her and saw Rainbow rushing towards her. "Rainbow, what's wrong?" Rainbow stopped in front of her and caught her breath. "There's someone at the royal palace that want to see you." she explained.

"Really? Who?"

"We don't know, all he said is that he wants to see you and he won't talk to anyone else. And there's some weird creature next to him too."

"Oh... well guess we better get going then." Sapphire returned Ampahros and Dusk to their pokeballs and flew with Rainbow to the New Canterlot royal palace. Once there, Rainbow escorted Sapphire to the throne room where Mykan Lightning, his entire team and their majesties were present. In the center of them was... another human?!

*Mykan's POV*

A few minutes earlier I got a letter from Lightning telling me to come to the royal palace along with his friends. No sooner have I arrived that we were all greeted by another human-hybrid, like Sapphire.

However, this one was a male. He had short brown hair and he was tanish with tanish wings and a horn as well. He wore a black jacket with a short silver chain on the side with black pants, shoes and sunglasses rested on his head. By his side was a pokemon that looked to be a combination of different types of creatures. Its head is enclosed in a brown helmet with green markings, designed to suppress its power to stable levels. The helmet has a large jaw piece that wraps around the front with large, round hinges on the side. Each hinge is covered by a green X-shaped marking. Small gray eyes can be seen from within rectangular black holes on the front, and there are two pointed ears on the top. Around the base is a collar with four protruding vanes that are tipped with a three-way spike. This collar has a thin green line between the vanes, and each vane has a green hexagon near the end. An axe-like blade with a band around the middle extends backward from the top of the helmet. The front tip of the blade has a small, silver spike that hooks downward.

A mane of gray fur hangs from below it's helmet and covers its shoulders and chest. Most of its torso and legs is covered in short black fur. The lower half of each front leg is insectoid and green with spikes along the back, while the rear legs have thick purple scales on the flanks, shins, and on the top of the foot. All four of its feet have three toes, but in the front two toes face forward and one backward. Additionally, the hind paws have a short, purple claw on the back of the ankle. Its fish-like tail consists of two dark blue spines with a light blue fin stretched between them. The top spine has a line of short, gray spikes.

That's when Sapphire entered the room and spotted the human. Surprisingly, she gasped with joy. "Emerald!" she cried.

The human, which was names Emerald, turned around, saw her and grinned happily. "Ah, Sapphire!" he said in rough voice. The two human-hybrids hugged each other tightly. "What are doing here?" Sapphire questioned.

"Can't I drop by and see you now?" Emerald teased. Sapphire hugged Emerald again.

"Woah, woah, woah!" Rainbow said. "Back up.... how do you know him?"

"Easy... he's my big brother."

All of us were shocked. "BROTHER?!"

"Yep." Sapphire said.

"You never told us you had a brother." I chimed in.

"Well you guys never asked." Sapphire replied.

"Okay, so he's your brother. Now, what's the deal with the mixed-up pokemon?" Lightning asked, referring to the pokemon by Emerald's side. "Oh, his Type: Null, my pokemon." Emerald replied. Type: Null growled at the ponies. Emerald rubbed the mask on his face, "It's alright, boy. They're friends." he cooed.

Type: Null calmed down. "How did you find me?" Sapphire questioned.

"Sibling instincts." Emerald teased.

"I'm glad you're here." Sapphire claimed. Emerald grinned at his little sister.

Lightning cleared his throat, catching the siblings attention, "Aren't you going to introduce us, Sapphire?" he asked.

"Oh... right." Sapphire sheepishly replied. "Everyone, this is my older brother, Emerald Shimmer and his pokemon Type: Null. Emerald, Type: Null these are my friends; Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy, Starla Shine, Buddy Rose, Artie Bristles, Rhymey, Dyno and Myte La Guava and Supreme Allied Commander, Lightning Dawn and their majesties; Grand Ruler Celesto and Queen Celestia. And finally, my boyfriend, Mykan Stevens."

We all exchanged greeting to Sapphire's brother, who I suddenly found standing right in front of me with a frightening expression. "Wah!... can I help you?" I squeaked. From the way he was looking at me and the way he dressed, something told me that he's the type of brother who doesn't hesitant to beat up someone who messes with his little sister. "So... your dating my sister, huh?" he hissed.

I nodded stiffly. "Well... you better be treating her right." He thrusted his face into mine, making me freeze with worry. "Cause if you're not then-"

"Hey, leave Mykan alone, you brute!" Rarity suddenly called.

Emerald sharply turned to face her. "And what are going to do about it, mule."

Spike gasped, "He said it." Rarity froze.

"Wh-What did you say?" she said.

"I said, mule. Got a problem with that?" Emerald challenged. Rarity face turned determined.

"Oh... it is on." she would have pounced on Emerald if Sapphire hadn't leaped between them. "Easy Rarity, he didn't mean it." she quickly said. She turned to her brother. "And Emerald, Mykan has been treating me nice for the pass three months. No need to threaten him." Emerald growled, but heed his sister's words. "Fine." He turned sharply and stared at me again, "I'm going to be keeping my eye on you." he claimed, doing the 'watching you' gesture. "Come on, Type: Null."

Emerald gruffly walked out of the throne room, followed by his pokemon.

"Ugh... what a jerk!" Rainbow cried.

"For once, I agree with Rainbow Dash, he is an absolute brute." Rarity chimed in. "I can not believe Sapphire is related to him."

"Well, brute, jerk or no. He's still Sapphire's brother." I said. "And he's just acting like big brother normally would."

"By insulting and almost picking a fight with Rarity and threatening you, her boyfriend?" Spike questioned.

"Well.... almost acts like a big brother." I added with a nervous smile.

"Well, I guess as long as he behave himself. He can stay on United Equestria." Celestia spoke up. He husband agreed with her, "Sapphire, please make sure your brother's behavior stays in line."

"I will, your majesty."

Suddenly, we heard roughhousing a some yelling coming from the hallway. We all rushed over to the scene to find some guards holding bck Captain Shania and Sapphire's brother. "What is the meaning of this?" Grand Ruler asked.

"Sire, this... human. Just tried to pick a fight with Captain Shania." a guard replied.

"Emerald, we've been over this. No picking fights." Sapphire groaned. Emerald growled at Captain Shania. "Emerald, please. I want you to stay, but you can't if you pick fights with everybody. Please do this... for me?" Sapphire pleaded. Emerald looked into his sisters' eyes and sighed. "Alright, no more picking fights... for you sis." he replied. Sapphire grinned and hugged her brother. The guards let go of Shania and Emerald. Emerald, Type: Null, Sapphire and Shania went their separate ways after that.

*POV Ends*

Lightning and his friends watched as Sapphire and her brother along with Type: Null left. They all have very mixed feelings about Emerald and his attitude. "Once again, he's a brute!" Rarity stated.

"He must have woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning." Applejack agreed. "He can't stay here."

"Guys, remember, he's Sapphire brother, who Sapphire hasn't seen in who knows how many years. You all saw how happy she was when he showed up. Do you really want to break her heart, by sending him away?" Mykan explained. The friends thought about this and knew he was right. They didn't want to make Sapphire depressed by sending her brother away. "But what about his threatening behavior?" Fluttershy squeaked, hiding behind her boyfriend.

"His attitude is out of tune,
Something will have to be done soon." Rhyemy added.

"The real question is why does Sapphire keep sticking up for him?" Spike asked. "I know he's her brother but, sheesh, they act like Ace Ray and Skye, except for the hating Starfleet part."

"Yeah, Emerald's suddenly as rude and obnoxious as Ace Ray. And Sapphire just as sweet and... 'soft' as Skye." Starla said.

"Well, I wouldn't say 'soft' more like... innocent." Artie objected.

"Anyway... maybe Sapphire can give us some insight into Emerald's behavior." Grand Ruler suggested. "She's the only one who knows more about Emerald than us."

"Right, master." Lightning added.

So the friends and their majesties, leaving the palace in the command of Captain Shaina, left the palace to search for Sapphire.

Emerald was very surprised when he entered his sister's castle. "So let me get this straight... you came here, met Lightning and his friends and rescued them from Death Song Dragons thereby earning you a spot as a Lieutenant on Starfleet. This so called Tree of Harmony gave you your Element of Harmony that you created on your own by showing friendship and giving hope to others. You defeated a large centaur named Tirek, becoming a Valkyrie of Harmony, saved Untied Equestria from an out of control forest, thereby earning you the title of the Princess of Friendship and five more Elements of Harmony and the magic to control the weather and nature. Finally, you defeated King Sombra with your boyfriend and dragons that you befriended along the way?"

"... Yes."

"Huh?... Guess your're not so 'little anymore." Emerald said sadly, knowing how much his sister has grown up in his absence. Sensing his sadness Sapphire cuddled him, "It's alright. I'll always be your little sister." she cooed. Emerald smiled at her and rest his head on top of her's for a moment. "Now why don't you go introduce yourself with my dragons?" Sapphire suggested.

"Alright." Emerald walked off while staring in awe at beauty of his sisters' castle.... and promptly walking into a wall. "OW! I'm good!"

Sapphire chuckled at him. When he was gone, Lightning and the others entered the castle. "Sapphire, we have something to tell you." Lightning started. Sapphire sighed, knowing what was coming, "It's about Emerald isn't it?"

"Umm.... maybe?" Rarity replied.

Sapphire sighed, "I know he's an aggressive warrior type, but back in the lab, that's how the ponies who created me wanted me to be." Sapphire flashbacks to her past

There were many other human-hybrids the ponies made. They were all aggressive, ready to destroy anything their masters told them to. "Every human-hybrid except for me." Young Sapphire was playing with her dolls. "The others would pick on me for not wanting to fight.

"Look at the little baby, playing with her dollies." One male said. The three humans laughed and approached Sapphire, but before they could do anything to her. "Step away from my sister." Emerald said as he appeared on the scene. He didn't like other bullying his little sister. "But Emerald never let them hurt me."

"Uh, we were just complimenting her dollies." One female said nervously. Emerald didn't buy that and changed into a male lion. He roared at the humans, making them scream in fear and dash away. Sapphire walked up to her brother when he changed back into himself. "Thanks Emerald." she thanked. "No problem, that's what I'm here for." Emerald replied. The two siblings hugged each other. "

"Awwww." the girls cooed.

"I know Emerald loved me and I know there's still good in him. He was really the only one I had as a friend before I met you guys. " Sapphire added and music began to play and she broke into song.

Lightning and the others almost had tears in there eyes. Emerald meant so much to Sapphire. More than just being her big brother. Now they know why Sapphire keeps defending him, despite his attitude. "So that's why you keep defending your brother, because he always did it for you." Mykan said.

Sapphire nodded. Emerald returned to the room and found Lightning and the gang. "And what are you all doing here?" he asked gruffly. "We're not here to cause trouble, Emerald. " Mykan stated. "We just wanted to know why you're so aggressive."

Emerald rolled his eyes. "As long as you're not upsetting my little sis, I have no problem with that. Now where's the kitchen, sis. I've been running on empty since I got here and my stomach is not happy about it." his stomach growled emphasizing his point.

Sapphire giggled at her brother's hunger. "Down the left all and it's the first door on the right."

"Thanks." Emerald walked off to find the kitchen, leaving Sapphire with her friends. "I still say he's a brute." Rarity grumbled. Sapphire smiled, "Now, now Rarity. He just being a big brother." Sapphire reminded.

"I suppose so." she admitted.

"Hey, where'd Mykan go?" Pinkie suddenly asked. By her side was a dotted outline of Mykan.

"So many books!" his cry echoed through the castle. "In the library. Why am I not surprised." Rainbow grumbled.

"Rainbow, leave my boyfriend alone." Sapphire warned.

"Alright, alright." Their majesties chuckled, "Well we'll leave you and your brother alone." Celestia said. With that Lightning, their majesties and the others left. Leaving Sapphire and her brother and bookworm boyfriend.

After Emerald finished eating his lunch, Sapphire introduced him to her pokemon friends. "Ah, I see you've made so strong friends, huh?"

"Yes, yes I have." Sapphire smiled proudly.

Emerald yawned. "I'm bushed. Where can I sleep?"

Sapphire looked at the sky and saw that it was about to be nighttime. "You can sleep in the guest bedroom. Come on." Sapphire led him to the bedroom next to hers. "Thanks sis." Emerald graciously climbed into bed and was soon out like a light. "Nice brother. I'm glad you're here." Closing the door, Sapphire went to the library and called for her boyfriend. The teen was buried deep into books, gathering knowledge. "Time for bed, mister." Sapphire called. Mykan groaned but he obeyed and he teleported back to New Canterlot. Sapphire went her to own bedroom and climbed into bed. With that she fell asleep as Princess Luna brought forth the night.
