After the defeat of King Sombra, Princess Sapphire Shimmer and the rest of the Starfleet ponies encounter some new and special creatures called Pokemon. They also discover and evil organization called Team Rocket that wishes to control all the pokemon. The friends will have to work together with the pokemon, encountering new friends and having misadventures along the way and Sapphire discovers some prehistoric pals and uncovers a plot to use them for evil. Now it's a race to gather the dinosaurs and save them.
