Chapter 23: Training and Date
Previous ChapterNext ChapterSunset smiled as she said “Cloud Kicker, don’t worry about cooking tonight. I’m taking you out for dinner at the Shining Soiree.”
Cloud Kicker smiled ‘Okay it sounds like fun, I’ll see you tonight.”
Sunset grinned “It’s a date, I’ll see you later tonight.”
Cloud smiled for a bit until the word date crossed her mind “Oh no, a date… I’ve never been on a date. She wants a serious relationship with me but…”
Meanwhile Sunset was walking out of town, Rainbow flew over with a smile “Hey Sunset, where are you going there isn’t anything out there but the Ghastly Gorge.”
Sunset nodded “Well that’s where I’m going, I need to some proper traning to keep in shape. In fact if you come a long I can teach you a few things about fighting, I promise.”
Rainbow grinned “I’m game, just so you know I’m a black belt in karate.”
Sunset shrugged as Rainbow followed her towards the Ghastly Gorge “That won’t help you much here.”
Rainbow frowned about to speak up but a look from Sunset cut her off until they arrived at the gorge, Sunset frowned as she pulled out two practice knives “These are for practice and I always keep two on me in case I need to practice with another.”
Rainbow blinked as she grabbed the knife “What is this for? I thought you were going to teach me martial arts. Why do I need a knife?”
Sunset frowned “Simple, I’m teaching you my style of martial arts. It came from Stalliongrad and it’s called Systema, it covers all forms of combat and can be used to adapt to any scenario even if it seems impossible. It means that it includes weapon combat, in fact it is not lethal unarmed but it melds really well with both gun and knife combat.”
Rainbow grinned “I’ll show just how good I am at fighting!” She darted forward with her practice knife.Sunset blocked each knife with a subtle swing of her hoof even as Rainbow swung faster and faster, it got to the point where Sunset removed the knife from Rainbow’s hoof with a singly swing of her own knife.
She placed her practice knife against Rainbow’s neck “If this was real, I would have killed you.You may be exceptionally fast but if you’re predictable you will taken down by anyone who has any level of skill.”
Rainbow frowned “So what do I need to do then?”
Sunset smiled “I’ll show you, just watch!” Her horn glowed, Rainbow blinked as hundreds of Sunset copies litter the field but they looked different younger and less weathered “This is me before I started my training special operative training, when I was still just a member of the police.”
The horde of copies rushed at Sunset, she took deep breath as she smiled. Rainbow’s jaw dropped as her clones moved at speeds she couldn’t even track were blocked and countered by the original with utmost ease. Within minutes the clones were all gone, slain by the original.
Sunset turned to Rainbow “Breathing is the most important, as well as keeping calm. A large amount of Systema is about the mind not just the body, if you knew what I did you could beat them. Not quite as easily as I did because they are fast than your eyes can track now but it will still be fairly easy.”
Rainbow grinned “Well let’s start.” Rainbow and Sunset were at it for hours, Sunset frowned as “I think it’s time to stop, I have a date tonight and clean myself up.”
Rainbow who was in far worse shape her body covered in sweat “I think I’m going to go to sleep soon, I have to work and I can’t be this tired when I get there.” Sunset nodded as they parted ways, she arrived back a Cloud’s place and had a quick shower.
Cloud groaned as she entered the room “I’ve have a long day at work, I need a long shower.” After her shower she exited to Sunset there.
Spike walked down the stairs “So are you two going out?’
Sunset nodded “Yes, I’m taking Cloud to the Shining Soiree, Fluttershy told me it was a good restaurant for a date.”
Spike despite his young age for a dragon was not dumb, he shrugged as he began cooking himself food “You two have fun then.”
As Sunset and Cloud left, Cloud gave Sunset a worried look “I’m not sure about this date, Sunset? I have no experience in relationships and the fact you are suggesting a committed relationship, I m just not sure I can do that.”
Sunset laughed “I’m fine with the fact you sleep around, I have only one condition if you invite someone over I want to join in. If we are in a relationship, then I need accept that as it’s a part of you life.”
Cloud’s eyes widened at those words, tear started to form in her eyes “Thank you Sunset, nopony has ever said anything like that to me. I have asked a few ponies on a date before but every last one of them looked me at me in disgust because I have slept with a lot of ponies.”
Sunset growled “That is horrible!” Sunset took a deep breath as they arrived at the Shining Soiree, it was glowing white building with a dark blue flashing light saying the name of the building.
A pale white unicorn mare with a golden mane smiled “Come this way, I have a seat ready for you.” The duo were past several other ponies to a small round table, the two sat down as they got two menus.
Sunset looked over the menu “I’ll have a potato salad, what about you?”
Cloud smiled “I’ll have a fish salad with cheese dressing.” A waiter came over and took their order. Cloud frowned “So what do you do for fun?”
Sunset sighed “I’m not sure, in truth I don’t do anything. I train every day and that’s about it, I don’t go out to have fun because I don’t really understand the concept very well.”
Cloud blinked “Really…” Sunset nodded. Cloud Kicker looked at Sunset determination filling her eyes “I’m going to fix that tonight, I’m going to show you what it means to have fun. Our local club, Wild Nights will be open after dinner.”
Sunset looked a little worried “I’ve never been to a club, what if I hurt somepony again. I don’t want to be a monster.”
Cloud moved her chair next to her and put a wing over he “I trust you won’t, come on it will be fun if you give it a go. ”
Sunset gave her a weak smile “I’ll try.”
Cloud gave her a peck on the cheek “That’s all I ask Sunny, that’s all I ask.”
Sunset smiled grew “Sunny, I like it. Thanks Cloud, for everything, for being a good friend and for showing me something I never knew.” The two enjoyed their meal before going out for dinner, Cloud then escorted her to Wild Nights Club. It had a flashing purple sign saying ‘WILD NIGHTS’ on it. It was a dark blue club, Sunset shuddered as they moved up through a line.
As soon as they entered the sound of blaring music filled the air, Cloud pulled Sunset into the middle “Shake loose, have fun.” Sunset stood there stiffly unsure of what to do. Cloud rolled her eyes before grabbing Sunset “Okay, I think you need something to drink. Seriously you are way too stiff.”
Sunset frowned “I’m not sure that’s a good idea, what if I…”
Cloud slapped her “None of that ,we’re here to have fun” they arrived at the bar to see a well dressed stallion mixing drinks. Cloud grinned as she put some bits on the table “We want two of the strongest you’ve got.”
The stallion chuckled “Sure, two dragon fire cocktails coming right up.”
Sunset frowned “I’m not sure about this.”
Cloud gave her a kiss “It will be fine, do you trust me?”
Sunset slumped with a weak smile “Yes I do.” Cloud then passed her one of the drinks, Sunset sighed before sculling the drink. Sunset blinked as she felt her mind begin to cloud, Cloud was sipping her drink when she saw Sunset slurring “You….’re rrrig..ht it dd..id wo..rk?”
Cloud finished her drink and joined Sunset on the dance floor, little did either of them realise the situation they would end up in the next morning.
