Chapter 26: Date Night 3

Cloud was sitting next to Sunset at the table eating pancake “So what is our plan for tonight?”

Sunset grinned “It’s a surprise, I however have to make sure Dash is practising the drills I have taught her.”

Cloud frowned “You’re not pushing her too hard I hope.”

Sunset rolled her eyes “I have her practice knife drills as well as upped her physical training to a more constant regiment of three hours a day with me as well as two on her own.”

Cloud nodded “Fine but be careful with her.” Sunset nodded with a small smile, she walked out of the door picking up a her saddlebags. Her body glowed as she teleported to Ghastly Gorge, she looked around to see Rainbow wearing a dark blue bodysuit similar to what Wonderbolts but it was soaked in sweat.

Sunset smiled as she cast a spell to restore Rainbow’s stamina “I’m glad you’ve been working hard Rainbow but don’t over do it. You know how badly that can go.”

Rainbow smiled “I’m glad your training me. Also I’m glad Rarity made this awesome suit, she really know what she’s doing.”

Sunset nodded “Yes I agree, Applejack is rather fond of that heavy work jacket that Rarity made as well” Sunset then grinned “You want to spar.”

Rainbow frowned “It depends are you going to hold back on me, you’re going to have to go all out on me.”

Sunset frowned as she put down her saddlebags“Well I’ll see where you’re at and if you prove yourself than I will. Come at me with everything you’ve got.”

Stormwind commented as Rainbow rushed at Sunset “Hey Sunset, how’s everything going?”

Sunset frowned as she knocked Rainbow away with a flick of her hoof “You know, you create a conversation at the worst times. Why do you only turn up every so often anyway?”

Stormwind mentally shrugged “I maintain the mental zone in which I inhabit, I even have a nice little garden and house. You know we can open the mindscape up to others as well, it wouldn’t take that much effort.”

Sunset grimaced as she dodged a few quick swings “I’ll think about it, now let me focus on this fight.”

Rainbow growled as she landed behind Sunset and charged up lightning “I’m sick of being ignored!” Sunset dodged the massive wave of lightning that scorched the end of the gorge.

Sunset boomed at Dash“Alright, I’m going to give you a taste of my power!”

She dissapeared in a flash of movement before appearing in front of Rainbow, Rainbow swung a quick kick only for Sunset to appeared behind her and swung a mighty blow. Rainbow eyes widened “SHIT!”

Sunset’s hoof stopped before hitting Rainbow, Rainbow blinked in awe as Sunset gave her a light nudge with her hoof “You’re making great progress, now I have plans for tonight.” Rainbow turned around in shock as she saw the end of the gorge extended by several hundred kilometres.

Sunset after retrieving her gear had arrived at Sugarcube Corner with a smile, she trotted over to Pinkie placing a twenty bits on the table “I want a few cupcakes to share with Cloud, I am going to show her something really special for our monthiversary as you called it.”

Pinkie grinned as she put them all in a basket which she pulled out of her mane “Here you go, you’ll need a basket.”

Sunset raised an eyebrow “Why do you have so many baskets?”

Pinkie giggled “Well in case there is basket emergency, you never know when a pony needs a basket. I need get back to baking, see you later Sunset.”

Sunset frowned, she was slowly adjusting to the crazy pink mare’s antics but every now and then she did something absolutely baffling. Sunset shook her head as her horn glowed and a cloud came towards her she then caste a few spell on it before teleporting it away with a smile.

Later that night she smiled as Cloud returned “Where are we going?”

Sunset picked up the basket and smiled “This is my favourite place to relax when I need to be alone, not even Celestia knows about this one.”

Cloud closed her eyes as she saw the fate glow of light, her eyes widened in awe as she looked down at Equis as the moonlight began to cover the planet “This is amazing, I never thought I’d ever seen the planet from up here.”

Sunset grinned “I’m glad you liked it, I was a little worried that you wouldn’t.” Cloud gave Sunset a big kiss, the basket was soon left forgotten as they enjoyed a marvellous night together above the planet unaware of the stars that in a few short months would bring a long forgotten princess back to the world.

Author's Note

Part of the reason I did this was to make sure that Cloud and Sunset got a decent amount of time together before the time skip.
