Hunting Golden Heart

"Twilight, pleaseeee help meeee!" I was so afraid of losing Golden Heart, I had to talk with Twilight. Maybe she could give some advice or at least calm me down.

I was already frazzled from the run I just had. The princess' castle is not that far away from home, but galloping there was a bit much. I really should work on my physical condition. At least I'm here though. And I hope Twilight didn't mind that I'm such a mess.

"Heartbeat, firstly you should breathe normally again and after that, you can tell me about your thoughts."

She had a point I had to admit. I was definitely out of breath, however, five minutes later I could finally begin to speak.

"Sooo... I think I might have a romantical problem here. I met a mare, well I actually bumped into her in the market the day before yesterday. I have to admit that I was a little bit grumpy at the beginning but when I realized what I was doing and who I was talking to I was back to my naturally nice side." I started.

"Hmm... To begin with I would argue with your nice side topic but I delay it now. Secondly, you seem to be very interested in this mysterious mare. I have to ask, who is she? Moreover, do you want me to give some advice?" She asked surprised.

"Heeey, I am nice! Well, usually... Nevermind that. About her.. Her name is Golden Heart. She moved here two days ago. I showed her around the town. We've talked a bit, but mostly about Ponyville. So I don't know much about her yet. Right now I can only talk about her look. She looks like an autumn sunset. Her fur is almost gold, her mane and tail are light brown, with a little cute yellow streak in them. And her eyes... I just can't forget about them. They're hazel in color and you can just get lost in them." I definitely should stop dreaming about her loudly.

"If I understand correctly, she has already turned your head. To sum up, what I've just heard, she looks cute and charming. Do you know where she lives?"

"Well...one of the problems is this. I have no clue. But my bigger dilemma is that I don't have an idea what I should do to attract her attention." I felt myself blushing.

"I don't suggest that you should hunt her around the whole town. Next time you meet her, you should ask her out on a date maybe. The main thing is that you shouldn't hide your interest in front of her because it can cause misunderstandings. Be gentle that's the most important."

Okay, that was mind-blowing. "Wow, Twilight thank you. I didn't know that you were such an expert in romantical situations."

"Well, don't thank me. Thank Rarity instead. Her overly romantic novels seem to take an effect on me."

We shared a hearty laugh and finally said goodbye. Now it was time for me to find Golden Heart, but firstly I should visit Sugarcube Corner to get some sweets.

Pinkie's empire was cute and fluffy all around the place. Getting there always cheered me up but this time I had another positive reason to be happy. When I arrived, the first pony I saw coming out of the shop was Golden Heart. She was smiling at her sweets and I had an idea. I slowly approached her from behind and near to her ear I suddenly claimed,

"Surpriseeee!"

That was genius! Or at least I thought it was. The next thing I knew is that I had a hoof-sized chocolate smudge on my left cheek.

"Oh sweet Celestia, you've terrified me, Heartbeat! You deserve that cake on your face!" She laughed at me.

"I don't mind it, this cake is delicious! Chocolate is my favorite. Are you okay though? You haven't got a heart attack or something, right?"

"My heart is beating very fast, but I'm alright. Do you always act like that?" She winked at me.

"I see what you did there. At least I know that you like my name. And to answer your question, I only act like this around somepony I like." I said, trying to flirt a bit.

"Oh, I see. this means I belong to the precious ones." I swear I waited for a wink.

"Anyway, would you like to drink a coffee or a hot chocolate with me?" Now my own heart started to beat very fast.

"Hm... I don't have another programme for today so why not?"

Am I seeing fireworks? Nope, this is just my joy I think.

We went inside and sat down at the table in the far right corner.

"Do you want a coffee or hot chocolate?" I asked.

"I have to admit one of my secrets. I'm a coffeeholic so a cappuccino would be perfect."

"One more mutual habit Golden Heart. A cappuccino for me too."

I got up and went to tell Pinkie what we wanted. My reward was the usual 'Okie-dokie-lokie'. After a few minutes, she came bouncing with our drinks. Neither of them spilled, which I found amazing. I was thinking about the next question when Golden Heart broke the silence.

"Actually I have a question about our situation. Would we consider this meeting as a date?" She asked a bit nervously.

"Well, if you don't mind, we can." I hope she doesn't find it intrusive.

"It is perfect for me too." She answered with a full-teeth smile.

After this, we were just chatting about different topics.

"If you want to be surprised Heartbeat, I'm telling you that once I climbed on a roof and kicked in a door."

"Whaaaat? You're kidding me! You totally have to be kidding me!" I was shocked.

"Okay, I'm telling you the details. A few months ago I visited my friend in Canterlot. There was a problem with her bathroom's lock, so I successfully locked myself in there. I decided to climb on the roof to reach the nearest window and I admit that it was a risky step. But with a brave jump, I arrived in the nearest room. Later my friend realized that she can't wash her mane so she tried to kick the door in. But she couldn't so we changed roles and in the end, the door broke down under my strength."

After this, there was a long silence.

"Okay, I admit that this was amazing... But how are you still alive?! Like you actually climbed onto the roof? How did you manage to do that?" I managed to meet a beautifully crazy mare.

"Well there's no problem with my stamina and besides I could hang on some piece of iron."

"Okay, this is impressive but please promise me you won't do such a dangerous action again."

"I promise I won't."

After she caused me a shock we continued talking. We finally both knew our address so we could catch up any time in the future. Unfortunately, we realized that the sunset was not too far away so we agreed to go home.

"It was nice talking with you Heartbeat."

Some butterflies in my stomach exploded from this statement.

"I enjoyed it too, Golden Heart."

"Do you want another date maybe on the day after tomorrow? Just to stick to our habits."

Golden Heart's suggest sent me up to the sky and back.

"It would be great! I still have a question though."

"You want to know if I have a nickname, am I correct?"

Now my mouth just fall open. How did she know?

"H-How..?" I was trying to ask.

"I've just guessed. And I do have one. You can use it if you want to. It's Goldy."

Can this mare be even cuter? "Thank you, Goldy. Well, see you soon."

"Bye Heartbeat!"
