Spike's Diary

Dear Diary,

Did you know that I got to spend the day as an awesome race commentator? Well I did! It was the Running of the Leaves, where the ponies of Ponyville race along a path to get the leaves to fall from the trees. It was a lot of fun, and me and Pinkie were commenting on it from the balloon. I mean, Pinkie's a wild card among our friends, but she's always fun to be around. Oh, and I can't forget the big draw of the race, and that's Applejack and Rainbow. Yeah, turns out those two are really competitive against one another. You should've seen just how unwilling they were to back off from one another. It was quite something. They raced and raced and even resorted to some dirty tricks to win. Kinda scary, if I'm being honest.

But, they didn't win. Either of them. But, you know who actually managed to get ahead of them? Twilight! Yeah, our very own bookworm actually did better than the town's two best athletes. She didn't win either, but she still got way further than either of them did. Even had a nice medal to go with it. I'm happy for her. Maybe I'll cook something nice for our dinner tonight to celebrate it. But yeah, the race was great, Rainbow and AJ are friends again and I had a lot of fun commenting on it.

Wonder if next year will be as interesting? I hope so!
