Spike's Diary

Dear Diary,

Well, after Sunburst's visit, seems he happened upon an old book that, guess what, tell the story of none other than Starswirl the Bearded! Twilight was all over that, especially since it mean finding out what happened to the guy all those years ago. Seems he and a bunch of other Equestrian heroes, like Somnambula, got trapped in this bad magical place alongside the legendary Pony of Shadows! Yeah, turns out the guy was real this whole time! So, after going all over and finding a bunch of magical stuff, Twilight cast a spell to bring them all back! Unfortunately, this brought old Shadow back too, so yeah, we had a new bad guy to stop.

Didn't do it in the best of company though, because wow, that Starswirl was a jerk. Twilight, Starlight, it didn't matter who, he was just rude to everypony. What's more, he totally rejected Starlight's idea that something was up with Shadow when the Cutie Map got involved. And what do you know, Starlight was right! Seems Shadow was really this guy named Stygian who was rejected and outcast by the heroes way back when. When this came out, Twilight and the others managed to get him separated from all that evil. So yeah, the day was saved, and thanks to Starlight, we got to do it without sending a victim back into Limbo do do it.

Now everypony's back in the present, and are all friends again. Here's hoping they can do okay here in the modern world.
