Spike's Diary

Dear Diary,

Today is Twilight's Birthday, and while I'd have loved to celebrate it with her, it looks like I'm not gonna get the chance to do that just yet. You see, Rarity's over in Canterlot right now, and she sent word that she wasn't gonna make it back in time for the party. So Twilight and the others decided that they were gonna go to her instead. And since the library needed looking over, I volunteered. I would've liked to go over to see Rarity of course, but sometimes, a dragon's just gotta do the responsible thing. I hope they all have fun over there, and hey, I really look forward to seeing what Rarity made for Twilight as a birthday gift. Knowing her, it'll be beautiful at least.

As for me, I've got the whole place to myself for now. Nopony here, which is expected by now. I long ago accepted that nopony really comes to the library all that much. Shame too, because there's some sweet books here. And no, before you ask, I don't just mean my comics, there's other stuff here. In fact, I think I might get started on this one book Twilight recommended to me. It's about this pegasus adventurer mare called Daring Do, and it looks pretty fun.

So yeah, guess I'll get to some reading then.
