Dear Diary,

Sorry I haven't had the chance to write in you for a while, but...well... you haven't actually been around for me to write in you. You see, my hiding place wasn't as safe as I thought, and Tirek, the jerk that he was, blew up our entire house and everything in it! So I'm afraid that, when I finally found you, you were in a thousand pieces. But, through hard work, I was able to finally put you back together! Sure, you may have a few singes around the edges, but you're still good as a Diary, and I really hope I can write in you for a long time after this.

Anyways, a lot happened after this. Tirek was beaten, naturally, but after that something amazing happened! The Tree of Harmony created an entire palace for me and Twilight to stay in. No joke! I'm in my new room right now and it's awesome! I can see all out over Ponyville from here! I mean, I never thought making houses was one of the Tree's powers, but hey, beggars can't be choosers after all. I'll miss the Golden Oak, as will Twilight, but I'm just happy all of us managed to make it out of there.

Oh, and not long after, we got a call. Guess who from. That's right, it was Sunset Shimmer! Thanks to some fancy machine-magic work from Twilight, we were able to get the mirror portal working again, and the two of us went back. Turns out there was some trouble back at that school thanks to some nasty Sirens. Seems old Starswirl had banished them there years ago and they were causing trouble again. But, with Twilight to help them, the girls over there managed to win, and heck, even Sunset is a friend now! How great is that?

So yeah, we've had a lot happen recently, and I'm glad I've been able to get you back to be able to talk about it. It's been a crazy time for us, but maybe it's be good for us to rest for now. Maybe a year-long hiatus of sorts?

...Huh...why'd I say it like that?
