Happy Times Circus
Friendship Kept Us Alive
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe group of us traveled to the right, to reveal in front of us what looked like the side of a giant circus tent. I'm guessing this was the 'It Pit' where Pinkie Pie was contained. I asked Rainbow Dash for the combat knife, as she handed it over to me. I forced the tip of the knife into the tent, only to have the knife recoil backwards and bounce out of my hand. The knife landed on the ground with a sharp tinging sound, that alerted a dozen bloodied skulls in our direction.
Applejack unloaded her gore grenade launcher, which took out the group within a few seconds. I looked to the right of us, to see a large 7/11 sign, with the telephone poles that fed the town electricity close to the sign. Good, maybe we can get something quick to eat here. To the left of the stores entrance, was a pool of that peculiar multi colored fluid, with more clown smoke stacks that emitted clouds of colorful smoke. The 7/11 was completely ravaged and untidy, with food shelves turned over with old food on the floor. Wthin the store....an odd noise emitting from smalll creatures scurried across the floor with small grunts....The creatures were relatively harmless toward us. I wasn't really sure how to identify or describe what the creatures are at the time....
An incandescent light bulb fell onto the floor, making a large crashing sound. The broken fragments of the bulb...morphed into a larger floating lightbulb. The large lightbulb was painted like a abnormal smeared clown, with a set of disturbing large black eyes and smeared red lipstick for a mouth. The bulb grunted and launched a molten hot rock sphere from inside the lightbulb's filament, as it opened it's mouth toward us. I darted to the right and unloaded 10 rounds from the M16A1 into the bulb, where it crash landed into the ground and shattered into small pieces.
Another small odd looking demon appeared out of a small crevase from within the store. A small, bowling pin shaped demonic clown skitted and bounced toward us. The top of the bowling pin shaped clown, was dressed in a small clown suit. It's entire head was painted white, with black holes for eyes with smeared black makeup and cracks around the eye sockets. It contained a blood stained mouth with small piranha like jagged teeth. The bottom base of the bowling pin shaped clown.....looked like a living human heart. Rarity squeezed off three rounds into the little monster, where the thing popped, as the base of the heart bloomed with smoke.
We looked around in the store. Inside the small bags of popcorn scattered across the floor, were the same living creatures scurrying around the store's floor located inside the sealed bags. I lifted the bag and opened it to dump the contents on the floor. The popcorn.....was alive and crawling around with a life on it's own! Rarity made a comment on the scene in wonder.
"Darling, is that popcorn....alive?" Rarity asked while looking at the scurrying litle critters on the floor. All six of us were in awe from the scene.
"I guess......they are. Wow, this is bizarre." I told the group, while the little buggers crawled over to us.
This had to be one of the strangest phenomenons I have ever seen, as the girls didn't know what to make of it for themselves. A handful of these little popcorn critters were placed inside my backpack. I wanted something to show for back in Equestria, from our travels together. This was living proof that we wern't lunatics.
We grabbed a few cans of unspoiled food, as there was nothing else in the store that was much of use to us. The little popcorn critters crawled their way out of the store and into the streets behind us. Back on the street facing the It Pit, we decided to search the houses one by one starting to the left side. We jogged into a green lead painted house. The entrance of the house lead us to a room on the right, where a personal home office was located to the left of us within a hallway. Another empty room with a...growing flower on a windowsill was located to the right of us from the hall. Fluttershy trottted over to look at the flower, where two of those metallic clown flying skulls appeared out of thin air. Rarity and I exterminated the two flying clown skulls, as all of us regrouped, and traveled up the flight of stairs at the end of the hallway.
To the left of the upstairs landing, was a small room with a 1950's tube amplifier for electric guitars, a large box, an unidentifiable opened book, a bookshelf and wooden drawlers, and a desk with a rocking chair. To the right room, was a pathway of the blue liquid bottles leading us to a small clown statue. I stomped on the statue, as all of a sudden we were teleported onto another platform....into the dark clown realm. The girls jumped in shock, as I told them that this realm was similar to the food pantry portal I stumbled into.
A large, thumping heartbeat echoed throughout the dark landscape of this realm, as the girls paced themselves behind me. Another large red haired clown portrait, from the room with the severed bunny head, stood before us as we ventured into the narrow floating island. We scurried to the side of the portrait, where a large shifting platform of rock solid intestines, shifted upward and downwards to a small narrow pathway of intestines. Parallel sides of the narrow pathway of the intestines, were a series of smaller potraits of the red headed clown. I noticed a new type of weapon, floating in dead space near the narrow pathway.
"Hey Dash, could you possibly reach that weapon up there? That's if...your brave enough to..." I asked with a smirk on my face.
I knew from experience, that presenting challenges to Dash always drove her into doing things that you wanted her to do, just so that she could be triumpant in whatever challenge that may be. She smiled back to me with a statement on her own.
"Oh yeah tall guy? That will be no problem at all..." She darted to the floating weapon in flight, and tossed the weapon back onto the moving platform of intestines from were we stood.
"Phhsh, that was easy." She galloped back to us, boldly expressing herself. I picked up the new weapon, while three translucent floating clowns snarled as they advanced toward us. Applejack launched a volley of arcing kidney projectiles into the clowns, as they were taken down one by one. A green portal awaited at the end of the narrow strip of intestines, as we all sprinted toward it. We landed back into the same room in the green house with the small clown statue that I've stomped on. We looked down into the newly aquired weapon from that realm.
It was an enlongated tubular popcorn machine with blinking multi colored lights. A glass, slideable viewport on the popcorn machine contained a few small crawling popcorn critters on the inside. The ammution for this thing, fed off of the small crawling critters. It was some sort of popcorn weapon, judging fron the exposed trigger located on the grip of the machine. I handed the hardware over to Twilight, as I tied her gore ballons on a lanyard located on my backpack. We jogged to the next house to the left of the green house, where Twilight had the oppertunity to test out the new popcorn machine weapon. A bloodied skull with a group of severed moving arms scurried to us, as Twilight squeezed the trigger mechanism on the popcorn weapon. A series of popping noises emerged from the weapon, as a few critters launched out of the muzzle, and collided in a volley of triangular glitter sharpnel into the small threats. Nothing else was of much use inside this house.
An old warehouse stacked with a mixture of small and large boxes was located at the base of the streets, with a few bags of crawling popcorn critters that I loaded into Twilight's popcorn gun. Down from the left street from the warehouse, was the grocery store labeled 'S-mart'.
"Shop smart, shop S-mart!" I repeated in my mind. The girls couldn't possibly get the reference, so I didn't bother. We made our way into the sliding glass doors of the front entrance, where we encountered a larger version of the floating clown painted lightbulb to the left of the sliding doors. Twilight unleased a stream of flying popcorn critters at it, while the large possessed lightbulb collapsed into the ground in glass shards.
Three cashier registers with 9 bags of the critter popcorn awaited for Twilight, as she carried the maxium amount of popcorn she could possibly contain inside the popcorn gun. The gas rocket laucher contained on her back was becomming a heavy burden. She swapped the launcher over to Rarity, as Rarity placed her 1911 in my backpack. Aisles of food and other hardward appliances surrounded us, as I took a glimpse of the firearm section of the stores counter. Old, famous rifles from western movies and revolvers were displayed behind the cases of glass. I shoved the handle of the ka-bar knife to break the glass case, which alerted a group of small bowling pin shaped clowns. Fluttershy took them out with her 10/22. Afterwards, we looted as much ammuntion we could possibly hold.
A cluster of lightbulb clowns were alerted by our presence, as Rarity aimed her gas rocketlauncher to the demons. Rarity fired off a single rocket dead center of the group, where the corrosive gases from the rocket made the floating lightbulb clowns pop in unison. Nothing else of much use was left for us within the store, so we made our way into a brown building, located just next to the green lead painted building. A lamp shade with a overturned wooden shelf, made a small obstacle for us in the front of the entrance. The group and I stepped over it, to reveal a small staircase leading to the second floor of the home. We swept the rooms one by one until we reached the end of the hallway. A small horde of pitch black action figure sized demons darted to my leg and kamikazied, as black sharpnel entered my leg as I fell to the floor.
"Ah shit, my god that burns!" I yelled holding my leg in pain. Twilight and Fluttershy rushed over with the medkit from my bag, and poured some the familiar blue liquid into the cuts and removed some of the sharpnel. I clutched my teeth in pain, as Twilight carefully removed the pieces with a tweezer. Fluttershy wrapped my leg with the bandages from the old medkit, while Dash supported me to my feet.
"We gotta be alert for those little charging shitheads..." I said to the group, as a demonic clown overheard the commotion and snarled, emerging from another room. Rainbow Dash fired a shell from her hip, which made the demonic clown fly backwards into a wall, as it imploded in gore. A few clown grenades and a basketball sized clown soul was the only thing else worth metioning in this abandoned house. Well, besides a small horde of metallic skull clown demons taken out by Applejack.
An elongated brown building was the last structure on the block, as I walked in forward. The doors inside the home wouldn't budge inside the building. A door down the hall's entrance from us, opened on itself, revealing a floating translucent clown. Dash took action with three shotgun shells, as the door at the opposite end of the hall opened as well. The room contained a small 'fun' room that flashed with colorful stripes. A small bloodied skull bounced toward us in the end of the room, where Fluttershy squeezed off a small hail storm of .22 hollowpoints into the skull. A sleeping clown switch was the only thing left to press inside the room. A small group of bowling pin clowns bounced over to us, while they grunted something uncomprehendable by our ears. Applejack hurled a burst of three projectiles that blew up the small clowns. The other side of the hallway contained a new type of clown.
This clown had a perimeter of fire floating around it. The clown itself was a large floating head, with blazing heat for a subsitute for clown hair. The clowns eyes were as black and hollow as it's soul....if it had one. It launched a stream of fire into our direction. We took cover in the opposite room as I untied one of the gore balloons. I flung the gore balloon into the direction of the flaming clown head, as it was damaged by the gore sharpnel from the balloon. The clown finally exploded, with hot sheering chucks of flesh spewing all over the place. The flaming clown head was blocking a sleeping clown switch from the room it emerged from. Rarity activated the switch, which moved something nearby the pet store.
In front of the pet store, the multicolored pillar wall finally lowered from the activation of the switch. We spotted a steaming hot pool of the multicolored liquid, that was blocking us from crossing the street safely. Fluttershy and Dash took turns picking us up and dropping us off on the opposite side of the steaming pool. I was the last one to be dropped off, when all of a sudden the building to the left of us, collasped a wall revealing a group of larger cousins of the lightbulb clowns, with more smiley red balloons that were alerted, with a grueling stretching balloon sound due to our presence. We discharged all of our weapons into the clown hoard, as they returned with their molten hot rock spheres at us. After minutes of strafeing and dodging, while exchanging fire, the bulbs collapsed to the ground with their allied red smiley balloons.
We tirelessly searched from house to house, from building to building to take down any demonic clown entites within them, while we destoryed the small pointing clown statues.....We finally made progress to a house that required a small bloodied skull inside a small door socket. After searching in nearly everyhouse, lady luck was not on our side today as we searched every square inch of each house for the damned thing. We paused our search at the S-Mart parking lot, where we thought for any possible areas that we haven't searched yet. A sparked flashed into Twilights mind, as she made an announcement to the group.
"We haven't tried the woods with the large wooden blockaide, since that large wall was blocking us from progressing forward." She suggested to the group.
A pictured map inside my mind retraced our steps from the woods....As I now remember a large blockade of a wall, located to the left of the wooded path of the old cabin. She was right, as I made an announcement to the group as well.
"Yeah....your right Twilight, for the past two hours, I haven't thought of checking out the woods again. Ok, were off to the woods...." I told the group, who paced behind me as I lead them back to the woods.
We retraced our path of the telephone poles into an uncharted path into the woods, as more red smiley balloons made their dreadful scrunching sound toward us. I pointed the M16A1 in the direction of the balloons and squeezed off a few rounds, where they imploded with a visible soul leaving the ground from where they imploded. The wooded path lead us into the entrance of a small circus tent, where a few flying clown skulls caught us with our guard down. Applejack fired her gore grenade launcher, as it hit the middle flying clown, which all three of them imploded. We made our way around the tent, only to find our way back outside the entrance of the 7/11.....
My patience was growing thin by now. We sat down in the parking lot and opened up our canned food, which was surprisingly still good despite of how old it was. While we ate together, Rarity suggested something to me.
"Darling, have we thoroughly checked the opened building near the steaming pool?" The more I thought about it, we haven't....
After discarding the empty cans, we made our way back into the opened building, where we've missed a sleeping clown switch from the intense firefight. It was placed behind a pillar indescretely behind a narrow corner. How the hell was someone supposted to find that? After hitting the switch with my rifle, a few demonic clowns persuited to attack us, while we took them down with light resistance. A striped wall lowered in the opposite vibrant steaming pool, where we advanced into and descended downwards into a flashing room. A green portal awaited for us on top of a small hill of triangular steps.....
