Responsibilities
Done for the Day
Previous ChapterWalking on cold crystal had gotten progressively more irritating over the years, Spike thought to himself. He hated the way his sharp claws scraped and clacked against the hard, unyielding surface, producing an incessant tick, tack as he went. At least stepping lightly helped to mitigate the noise some, which was better than nothing.
Forcing the annoying thoughts out of his head, the dragon narrowed his attention onto a large double door that he was quickly approaching. The ornate design carved into the heavy wood bore the crest of the Princess of Friendship: a stylized depiction of Twilight’s cutie mark. Just as he was about to grip one of the two wrought iron handles, a light blue aura encompassed the entirety of the panel, swinging it open before a little lilac colored mare trotted out of the room inside.
“Oh! Hey Spike, how was your day?” she asked, smiling up at the dragon while simultaneously pulling out a wheeled cart in her magical grasp, stacked high with dirty plates and bowls.
“Hey, Starlight, my day was tiring, but good,” he responded, tilting his head towards the load of dishes. “That the last of her dinner?”
“Dessert, actually,” the short mare answered. “She’s also had her bath, so you’re all set,” she said with a waggle of her eyebrows. Spike simply rolled his eyes in return, though a good natured smile remained on his lips.
“Hmph, thanks Starlight.” Before she could have a chance at another suggestive remark, the drake quickly stepped into the room, closing the large door behind him and ensuring it was locked. Closing his eyes while still facing the entrance, he took a second to relax, breathing a heavy sigh while slumping his shoulders slightly. He wasn’t lying when he’d said he was tired—it was nearly sundown, and he was ready to be done.
Opening his eyes, he turned around on the spot, now facing directly towards the middle of the room. The familiarity of this place was comforting, after all, for many years he had slept in a basket at the foot of the bed that had once sat along the far wall. That bed, however, had to be removed, as it took up precious space that was now needed for the pony who inhabited it.
Although, the purple alicorn was less of a ‘pony’ these days than she was a monument to obesity.
Unlike any other creature these days, Spike was forced to look up to meet Twilight’s gaze, as the mare was suspended atop her incredible belly. Unlike Rainbow’s now overstuffed gut, the alicorn’s stomach displayed no tautness whatsoever, the soft fat swelling out and covering much of the room underneath its girth.
The humongous alicorn's limbs had been completely immobilized, trapped inside sleeves of fat larger than cider barrels that prevented everything but simple hoof movements. Her thighs and hips had fattened out to be nearly as wide as the bedroom she lay in, warping and distorting her cutie marks as they stretched in kind, no longer resembling the embellishments on the doorway they were now just as large as.
Behind her, the beyond obese princess’ backside pushed against the far wall, squishing out as it demanded more space to grow. The top swell of the mountainous cheeks towered over everything, reaching just shy of the fifteen foot tall ceiling. Her wings were nothing more than divots in a wide dome of back flab, rolls of blubber obscuring them from view.
Walking up to the titan of flesh, Spike stretched out his own wings, flexing the muscles in them while at the same time bending his knees. With a single thrust, he flew up and landed on the cushion of Twilight’s belly, his clawed feet sinking into the purple furred adipose rolling out in front of her. Sloshing through the soft brisket, he approached the mare’s head, her round face smiling brightly towards him.
With her neck having disappeared as her body expanded, her noggin simply poked out from the massive form of her torso. Her cheeks creased with her smile, an inviting warmth spreading from her affectionate expression.
“Evening, Spike,” she greeted, her voice slightly huskier from the weight pressing on her larynx, “have a good day?”
“Yeah, it was good,” he answered as he reach her head, dropping down to his bottom and sitting in front of her, more-or-less face to face. “I’m glad to be home, though,” he said as he leaned in, nuzzling his forehead into hers before dragging his scaly cheek across her squishy one. Twilight cooed in response, closing her eyes to savor his touch.
“I’m glad you’re home too, Spike,” she said quietly as she did her best to reach her own head out, clearly asking for another cuddle. Happily obliging, the dragon resumed their loving contact, while also adjusting his position so as to lay on his back, head propped up by the blubbery rolls extending from her withers.
Heaving a breathy sigh, Spike closed his eyes and relaxed on top of his improvised bed. Slowly, he allowed the heat generated from multiple tons of fat princess to lull his mind to a state of serene calm, and eventually, a deep, restful sleep.
