Lonny and Big Mac stopped for lunch at Hayburger and after they ate,they went back to Ponyville Barracks,and went up to the squadroom.Lonny was on the phone talking to the crime lab,while Big Mac was on his phone talking to R & I.

Big Mac said,"This here's Detective Apple.Ponyville Barracks.....Ahh need a records check on somepony......Last of Petal..Paul..Edward..Tom..Adam..Lincoln...First of Rose common spellin.....Discribin a Female...Satyr...35 ta 40....Brown over brown....110 pounds..Cutie mark is a rose....Anythin ya'all find..Send a teletype...Thanks."

Big Mac hung up and while Lonny was still on the phone,and taking notes.Captain Goldtalon walked up,looked at Big Mac and said,"Apple.When your partners off the horn,my office.I want an update."

Big Mac replied,"Eyup."Then tapped on Lonny's desk.Lonny looked up and Big Mac motioned for Goldtalons office.Lonny nodded and said on the phone,"Are you sure about that Spy??.......Anything else??.....OK...Thanks."

Lonny then looked at his partner and said,"Let's go see the Cap.You're not gonna believe what Spy found in the sample we got this morning."

Lonny and Big Mac walked up to Captain Goldtalon's office and Lonny tapped on the glass on the door.Goldtalon said,"Come in."

The detectives both entered and Goldtalon said,"Well.I hope you're little field trip has gotten you something,oh I don't know,like clues."

Lonny replied,"We actually found out some interesting stuff Cap."

Goldtalon said,"Well.I'm all ears."

Lonny took a stack of pads and layed it out for the captain.

Lonny said,"First thing this morning,we went back to the victims apartment.Big Mac found Blu Buttercups dayplanner,and where she was employed at.Second.We went to The M.E.s Office.Van Pudding confirmed the cause of death.Manual strangulation.And according to Van.The killer had to be at least 6 foot 2,or taller."

Goldtalon asked,"Why is that??"

Lonny continued,"Because the ligature marks on the back of the neck were in the shape of an X.She was basiclly hanged to death.And Van found a small patch of scortched fur under the victims left armpit.Van scraped off a sample and we took it to the crime lab,in fact I was just talking to Spy Glass."

Goldtalon asked,"And I take it he found something??"

Lonny replied,"I'll get to that."

Big Mac took that as his cue and said,"Next we went to Trottingham and spoke to the manager at "Horseshoe Payroll Services"and found out who was paying the victim all that money."

Goldtalon then said,"Well.Don't keep me in suspense."

Big Mac continued,"It seems she was gittin paid by a company called "Boops for Stuff".They make cosmetics and skincare and furcare products usin all natural ingredients.Rarity helped them out a few years back.Then we went ta "Mares of Beauty"modelin agency,and talked to owner.A Satyr woman named Rose Petal.Lonny and I think she knows more than she's lettin on.Ah'm havin her run through R & I.Ah'm just waitin fer the teletype."

Goldtalon asked"And back to what Spy Glass found."

Lonny said,"Spy said,he found traces of cold cream.And get this.Sulfuric Acid."

Goldtalon then said,"Now that is interseting.So.What's you're next move boys??"

Lonny said,"Well tomorrow morning,we want to go to 'Boops for Stuff and talk to the owners.And we want to take Rarity with us."

Goldtalon asked,"Why??"

Lonny replied,"Because the owners may not like a couple of cops coming around,so we think Rarity could help us with the owners,and maybe they will open up to us.Big Mac and I talked to her earlier and she said she'd help,but only if you OK it."

Gold talon thought about it for a moment and said,"OK.I'll go along with it,but you two.Keep her safe.She is one of the "Elements of Harmony",so watch her back.Understand??"

Lonny and Big Mac nodded.Goldtalon said,"OK.Back to work.Both of you."

Lonny and Big Mac went to the coffee room for some coffee and went back to their desks,and kept looking into the victims life,then Sergeant Jerry Coogan walked up and said,"Big Mac.Here's the printout for you that came in from downtown."

Big Mac took the printout and said,"OK Coogan.Thanks."After he looked at the information,he looked at his partner and said,"Well Ah'll be.It looks like I was spot on about her."

Lonny asked,"What's you got Bro??"

Big Mac handed the printout to Lonny and he said,"Hey Cap!!"

Goldtalon came out and asked,"What??"

Big Mac said,"R & I found somethin,it looks like Rose Petal has a past.She was an up and comin fashion model,until she got busted twice for prostitution back in the late 90s.Been clean ever since."

Goldtalon asked,"Any indication maybe "Mares of Beauty"is a front for prostitution??"

Big Mac replied,"Ahh don't think so,but Ahh'll call Vice and check anyway.Just in case."

The red earth pony detective got on the phone and called a buddy in Vice at H.Q.Big Mac said,"Hey Gazer...Apple....Oh fine fine fine...Eyup..Everyponies allright.....Mah sister and,My brother in law are OK,and he's still mah partner...Anyway.Ahh need ta know,if a modelin agency called "Mares of Beauty"is a hooker operation........No....Ya'all sure......OK...Thanks Gazer...Ahh owe ya'all one...Right...Bye now."Big Mac hung up and said,"Accordin ta mah buddy Cloud Gazer over in Vice,"Mares of Beauty"aint on their radar.It seems they are on the up and up"

Goldtalon looked at his watch and said,OK.There's nothing more you can do tonight.Go home.Tomarrow,take Rarity and talk to these ponies at "Boops for Stuff"

Just as Lonny and Big Mac were about to leave.Lonnys phone rang,he answered it and said,"Ponyville Barracks..Williams.....Hey Silverstar.How are you???.......Oh fine.....Yeah everyponies good.Whats up??.......Uh-huh......OK.....When??.....Allright.What time??........No problem......Big Mac and I have to follow a lead in the morning,but we should be back here at our office before you get here.......OK.....Got it....See you then.......OK...I sure will.....Bye."Lonny hung up and said,"That was Sheriff SilverStar in Applelossa.He notified the victims family,and he's bringing them here.They on a flight in the morning and should be here in the afternoon,they want to claim their daughters body."

Goldtalon said,"Allright.Tomorrow morning "Boops for Stuff"And in the afternoon,you boys handle Sheriff SilverStar and the victims parents.OK.That's it.Goodnight boys."

Lonny and Big Mac said goodnight to their captain and went home back to "Sweet Apple Acres."When they walked in Big Mac went upstairs and Lonny went and saw his mare and wrapped his arms around her waist from behind kissed her neck and saying,"Hi sweetie."

Applejack replied,"Hey there sugarcube.How was yer day??"

Lonny said "Long.Big Mac and I must have drove about 80 miles today,and we get to do that again tomorrow."

Applejack asked,"How's that hun??"

Lonny replied,"In the morning...Oh crap....I completely forgot."and went to the kitchen wall phone and called Rarity.Lonny said,"Hi Rarity........Well my captain says it's OK to come with us tomorrow.........Ummmm.OK.Sure.If you want to.Meet us at the barracks around 10.......OK.....Great.....and lunch is on me.......Good.....See you in the morning.....I will......Bye Rarity."

Lonny hung up,looked at Applejack and said,"As I was saying Tomorrow your brother and I have to go and see the ponies at "Boops for Stuff"and try to find out why they were paying 4000bits a month to the victim.And Rarity is going with us,since she knows them.After that Sheriff SilverStar is coming in from Applelossa with the victims parents.They want to take her home.Oh and SilverStar says HI by the way."

Applejack said,"Ya'all gonna be busy."

Lonny said,"You betcha,but we're making head way on the case,anyway I'm gonna go get ready for dinner."

Lonny got changed,then he and the family had dinner,watched TV and went to bed.Both Lonny and Applejack were too tired and just layed in bed holding and snuggling each other and went to sleep.

Chapter 7.Lonny and Big Mac give Captain Goldtalon an update on the case.Big Mac finds some interesting information about Rose Petal.Goldtalon OKs Rarity going with Lonny and Big Mac tomorrow,and Lonny get a call from Sheriff SilverStar.
