Chapter 05 - Demons and Royalty

Destroyah looked around the train cart and chose one seat in the rear. The train was cold no doubt and it would only get colder at the elevation above sea level increased. Destroyah looked at each individual pony as they entered the cart in an orderly manner behind it. All their vibrant colors would soon be turned to crimson red as their blood would pour but that was now just a plot at the moment, a plot it was not ready to unfurl. Destroyah quickly shut its eyes and tried to drift into a gentle slumber but the chatter of the other ponies was too much for its eardrums to bear. In the back it lay as it tried to block out the sound with its massive wings with little success, they were hollering far to much.

"Enough! Can't a kaiju get some decent sleep around here?!" Destroyah shouted, wanting to lash out at its infernal companions. The ponies all store at Destroyah in its rage with disgusted or disappointed looks on their faces.

"Our apologies, that was not intentional, bur could you lower the volume of your chatter."

"All you had to do was ask!" Twilight responded, her disgusted face quickly turning to a cheerful smile.

"Thank you."

The cart instantly got a lot quieter and Destroyah was finally able to settled down and drift off into a blissful slumber, the heat radiating from its chest keeping it warm as the temperature around it continued to drop.

It had been at least a few hours since they entered the train and Destroyah had not moved once. Being a kaiju born from death and destruction, it didn't dream nor twist and turn from a toiled mind. Regardless, the journey seemed fast to the patient kaiju for, compared to its multi-billion-year slumber, this was mere moments! Finally, the urge to rise overcame the calmed kaiju but as its golden eyes opened, it was greeted to a strange sigh, one it had never anticipated nor thought possible. Six fuzzy ponies were cuddled up next to the demon's from, all asleep and warmed by the kaiju's radiating body. Destroyah leaped back, startled and disgusted by its wake-up call but the bodies around it made the kaiju lose balance and topple to the floor, taking Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie with it. It landed with a muffled thud on them, making something of a cute squeaking noise as it crashed down upon them, giving the illusion that they were made of air-filled rubber. Destroyah quickly got up and loudly cleared its thick throat. The other four slowly stirred from their slumber, rubbing their eyes as they stretched against each other. They noticed that the train had stopped, indicating they had arrived at their destination, Canterlot, and they all poured out of the train cart. The train doors shut behind them and the train steamed as it roared back to life and chugged off int the distance. Destroyah now gazed upon the beauty and majesty of Canterlot, wondering what it would look if set ablaze. But what really caught its eye was the the magnificent castle. It was the ideal symbol of regal power and wealth. Oh how deeply the kaiju wanted to tear it apart, entrapping and slaughtering every life form inside. Regardless of this dreaded thought, Destroyah followed the six as they trotted their way toward the castle. Destroyah assumed this was where their 'Princess Celestia' was hiding out. Destroyah creeped behind the others, stalking the group from the shadows as to not cause alarm. It didn't want everyone to see it just yet, it needed time to devise a plan. Soon enough, however, they had made it to the massive gates of the castle's outer walls. Destroyah was the first to approach and was immediately cut off by the guard's strong wings.

"Halt beast! What is your purpose here?"

"Fools! You dare stand in the way of the all-powerful Destroyah?! We shall have your heads for this!" The demon kaiju lunged at the guards, only to be deflected by there armor. At that moment Destroyah realized it was not at full strength, not even close! It didn't even have the strength to smash through their pitiful armor! Destroyah was heavily embarrassed by its weakness but not deterred in the least. The kaiju hissed threateningly at the guards and it was clear that a fight was about to brew. But thankfully the other ponies weren't that far behind the demon kaiju. Their presence alone put the guards at ease, though Destroyah was still prepared for battle, even war... well, at least mentally.

"State your business here."

"We would like to see the Princess, if that is alright."

"Is that 'thing' with you?"

"Yes, yes it is!"

"Very well, you may pass." The guards moved aside and they all were allowed to enter, even Destroyah. As the group proceeded on, Destroyah lingered for the time being, wanting to get back at those stubborn guards. Its deadly tail slithered back towards them and snapped at their ankles, startling the trained ponies as they jumped into the air. Destroyah chuckled to itself as it continued to follow its oblivious prey.

The inside of the castle was well furnished: the windows where large and stain-glass, the carpet was soft and gentle, it was truly an awe-filled sight but still, Destroyah had no interest. The demon kaiju continued to followed the ponies to what it assumed was the throne room, hoping to find this Celestia in there. The kaiju was greeted by two massive golden doors and yet more guards. It was growing tired already of this whole royalty thing, when was it going to be able to demolish cities, trample acres, and destroy all that is life?! Twilight walked up to one guard.

"Hello Star Light. We are here to see the Princess."

"Good day Twilight. You guys are lucky, she isn't swamped with work today."

The royal guard called Star Light turned and knocked on the great doors before him. The doors illuminated and opened slowly to reveal Princess Celestia seated in her throne, glowing in all her regal glory. Despite her hard look, she had a warm smile upon her face as she greeted the incoming ponies. Then the demon appeared. Her charming smile was instantly dulled as she tilted her head in a curious manner, wanting what this ghastly beast standing in her great hall was.

"Pray tell good creature, and pardon my rudeness or bluntness, but what are you?"

"We are Des-" Pinkie Pie broke in rather excitedly.

"Ohohohohohoh!!!He'sADragonThingyFromAnotherUniverse!!!WeCallHimMr.D!!!"

Pinkie's words flowed together like a massive torrent assaulting Celestia's ears. But despite it she was used to Pinkie's rapid fire speech. Celestia had understood what she had said.

"Another... Universe?"

"Yes, we come from a very different place, one of terrible men and of kaiju."

"Kaiju?"

"Yes, we are Destroyah, kaiju of war birthed from the Oxygen Destroyer."

"But Pinkie Pie said you were a dragon?"

"The word 'dragon' fails to describe our true power, we are nothing of the sort, we are kaiju."

"I see. So then, what exactly are kaiju?"

"It is hard to describe exactly what we are but what we can say is that kaiju are unimaginably powerful, many birthed from nuclear horrors that were never meant to be created."

"Okay... Why do you say 'we?' Are there more of you?"

"You could say that. We are many and we are one. We create a single entity that you see before you but we are several thousand strong."

"So you are made up of smaller organisms that have combined together to form a larger unit?"

"Yes."

"Are all kaiju like yourself?"

"No. All kaiju are entirely unique in one way or another but we are all strong, gifted with the strength and power to control all."

The other ponies were starting to get very confused and bored at the bombardment of questions. Rainbow Dash lightly taped Celestia's shoulder, indicating it was time to cease the questioning.

"Well anyway, it has been a very long time since I have seen my little ponies so why not sit for lunch?!"

The young ponies were famished after their long nap and Destroyah had a fair appetite as well. They were eager to enter the dining hall and seat themselves as Destroyah followed the ponies uneasy. It was like a Japanese wasp amongst calm honey bees buzzing amongst the combs of the hive, unaware of the lurking stranger and future killer. The kaiju sat itself down near the edge of the large table at the center of the dining room, not wanting to socialize any further with the joyful fillies. It had already decide it didn't like Celestia, her infinite questioning had begun to really irritate the kaiju. The ponies had ordered from a well-mannered, professional waiter but Destroyah was incapable of speech at that moment, lost in though and oblivious to its surroundings.

"Well, Mr. D is it? What will it be?"

"..."

Twilight leaned in and whispered into Celestia's ear.

"A carnivore eh? I know just the thing!"

Celestia, in turn, whispered to the waiter who quickly trotted back into the kitchen to tell the chef what to prepare.

Not long after the ponies where brought their meals, each seaming with perfection on a lugubrious silver platter. Destroyah sat expectantly hoping for something large and juicy, something preferably ALIVE! What Destroyah got though was something entirely different, the food substance it hated most of all! It sat in all its white, jiggly glory upon the silver plate, a repulsive sight to the demonic kaiju. Destroyah reared back and hissed at the block of tofu before it. Fluttershy leaned over and whispered to Celestia.

"Oh. Sorry about that D!"

Celestia recalled the waiter to her position. After a brief, hushed conversation the waiter departed with the egregious tofu in hoof back to the kitchen. Celestia gave the kaiju a very sheepish smile, which Destroyah neither cared for nor enjoyed but the it kept that part to itself. Soon enough, however, the waiter reappeared with a slab of raw meat. The kaiju was finally appealed.

"Eating meat is rare occurrence here but we do have some for the Griffon and some of our other carnivorous ambassador."

Destroyah cracked a twisted grin and, much to the horror of those present, bashed its skull into the raw flesh, sending blood flying as it tore, downing it in a single hideous gulp.The spectacle was both noisy and grotesque. Once gone, Destroyah raised a claw to its bloody maw and gave a soft belch.

"Now that's what We call fine dining! You don't even have to hunt it down!"

"Indeed... my waiters are the finest!" Celestia replied, ignoring the last part.

Celestia's anxiety was unnoticed by the kaiju still unfamiliar with her body language and communication.

"So what is this universe you come from like?"

The kaiju grew dark almost instantly, frightening the ponies around it.

"A dreaded place filled to the brim with war and death. No man nor kaiju can escape the terrifying clutches of the raging wars that plague our once beautiful planet."

"It sounds like a horrid place!"

"You have no idea." That was a blatant lie, Destroyah loved every bit of the slaughter it used to frolic in back home. It reveled in the death and chaos that followed its demonic form. Destroyah rose from the table, stretching its enormous wings, nearly plunging the room into darkness as its wings blocked the vibrant light from the beautiful sunset.

"Night approaches, my favorite time of day."

AppleJack's head shot up.

"Wha! Ah no! Ah forgot Applebloom!"

"Is this a bad thing?"

"Of course! Them bullies Diamond Tiara an Silver Spoon bully her if ahm not there!"

Destroyah ruffled its wings about and took the excuse to leave, the castle was to cheery for it anyway.

"I shall go."

"At this hour, are ya' sure? Ya' don't have to."

"Yes."

Destroyah spread its dual set of wings. Even Celestia was impressed at the sight of the draconic wings. AppleJack tilted her head, still unsure wether or not she was okay with this creature picking up her little sister.

"Are ya' totally sure partner?"

"Yes. Our wings can propel us there much faster than your mere legs and besides, this castle, no offense Celestia, is a tad bit bright for my tastes."

Without another word the kaiju winged itself into the air and took off, happy to be out of that joy-infested nuthouse. It found Celestia's presence more than uncomfortable in all ways, there was nothing dark about her. She KNEW something was wrong with the kaiju, and not just its displacement in the universe.

Once Destroyah was out of ear shot, AppleJack walked over to Rainbow Dash.

"Could ya' follow im'? Ah jus wanna make sure Applebloom 'll be all right."

"Sure! I am the element of loyalty after all!"

The cyan blue pegasus flew straight up and rocketed after the demon pony. She quickly caught up to Destroyah but didn't make herself known, opting for stealth. She hid on a rather large cloud and followed as Destroyah slowed and then flew down once the school was in sight.

In the school yard three fillies stood, one pink with a purple and white mane. On her head stood a diamond tiara and her cutie mark was of the same head ornament. The other was a silver colored filly with a black mane and half-moon glasses. Her cutie mark was a silver spoon. The third filly was yellow with a red mane. She was devoid of any mark on her flank. That,

however, is exactly what the bite-sized bullies where making fun of her for.

"Hey blank flank! Enjoying another day of being bare?"

"Eew she's like totally naked!"

"I know right!"

Applebloom tried to drown out the bullies but they had been tormenting her for some time now and her eyes where misting over.

"Aww is the wittle foal gonna cry? Go on cry. Cry cry cry cr-

The bullies where cut off. Applebloom looked at them as they store in sheer terror in her general direction. She noticed a dark shadow cast upon her from a massive behemoth above her. Applebloom looked to either side of her and noted the large crescent shaped claws attached to muscular red armored legs. She looked up to see the underside of Destroyah's chin and neck. Destroyah placed a claw on her and slid her under it, keeping its gaze focused completely on the trembling bullies who now had its undivided attention. Saliva was dribbling from between its razor sharp teeth; the steak it had devoured at Celestia's palace was no where near enough to fill the beast's bottomless appetite. It had a good mind to eat them right there but it didn't want to make a spectacle in front of Applebloom. The fillies looked like they were about to wet themselves as Destroyah promised murder in its eyes, those golden jewels filled with dark intent. But fortunately the tense moment was broken by two other fillies.

"Appleblo- ..... Oh. My. Celestia!"

Two little fillies sat gaping at the kaiju. One was an orange pegasus with a purple mane. The other was a white unicorn with flecks of pink-purple in her hair. Destroyah turned its attention back to the cowering bullies and leaned in slowly, savoring the moment as they gloriously trembled. It's face was about an inch from theirs.

"Now would be a good time to run!"

That was more than enough to send them packing. Even their dust trails couldn't keep up with them. Destroyah returned its attention to the new arrivals in a calm manner.

"That. Was. So. AWESOME!"

The orange pegasus was amazed and started bouncing up and down in circles around the demon pony. Destroyah, in turn, gripped Applebloom in its tail pincer gently and deposited her next to her friends. The little white unicorn slowly approached.

"Are you ok Applebloom?"

"Yea. He helped me out."

"You may call us the Destroyah."

The little filly was looking up the chest of the kaiju with awe.

"Whatever ya' say! Thanks for savin' Applebloom!"

"Don't mention it." Destroyah replied though its voice said 'Don't bring it up again, EVER or there will be hell to pay!!!'

Destroyah extended its wings, ready to catch the cool night breeze until a small nudge caught its attention. It turned its head back, looking intently yet with little interest at the small crusaders. The orange one spoke up.

"Well since you helped one of our friends out you want to hang with us?"

The kaiju raised a thorny eyebrow and stood motionless for a moment.

"Hell, might as well..." Destroyah replied, knowing the little fillies would not let up in any case. Destroyah folded its wings against its body as it followed the small ponies. The little crusaders led it to a simple little tree house with a good-sized banner emblazoned with the letters RD and a picture of the cyan pegasus herself jutting out of its side. Destroyah rolled its eyes at the sight of it and reluctantly entered with them. But what even the kaiju failed to notice was the shadow that had descended over the house.

Destroyah looked at each individual pony. Until his eyes settled on AppleJack and Rainbow Dash. His eyes narrowed and a nasty plot formed in his head.

"Hey AppleJack."

"Yea partner?"

"Can you do anything special with your name?"

"Say whit now?"

"Take Rainbow Dash for example. She can say my name is Rainbow Dash and I'm dashing off. Now you try."

"Err alrighty then. Mah name is AppleJack an ahm Jacki- .. wait. AH'LL KILL YA!!"

Destroyah flew around the cart avoiding the steaming earth pony laughing his demonic flank off. Rainbow flew up leaning on the kaiju laughing till there where tears in her eyes.

"That was great!"
