Chapter 06 - Of Bloodshed and Recovery

The fillies had spent several hours talking to and attempting to play with the kaiju, despite the beast's careless attitude. But they usually just bounced around, expelling energy, then curled up next to the demon pony and, when fully rested, started the process all over again. The orange pegasus Scootaloo was the most energetic, always wanting to say or do something. But what they would usually do was just ask the kaiju why it didn't have a cutie mark.

"Because we are not from this strange place."

That was its usual remark.

"So Mr. D, is it? What do you think our cutie marks will be?!"

Destroyah scratched its chin, not really caring but knowing that they wouldn't leave it alone unless it gave an answer. It hadn't expected that one, out of all the questions they could have asked. But watching the orange filly convinced it of one thing. It pointed a claw at Scootaloo.

"Yours will probably have something to do with speed. But I have no idea of you two. We guess we need to study you some more."

Scootaloo brightened right up as Sweetie Belle and Applebloom sulked a bit. After a few more minutes of the fillies annoying the kaiju with menial questions they finally noticed the sun sinking into the Earth. After a few good-byes, Sweetie and Applebloom where ready to leave but a knocking on the door caught the kaiju's attention. Snaking its tail skywards, it opened the flimsy door to let in... AppleJack, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash?

"There ya'll are. Now ah' hope ya'll didn't cause our new friend too much o' headache."

"They weren't... too much... of a problem..." Destroyah said, blatantly lying. They were a living nightmare for the demonic kaiju!

"Thas' great tah' hear! Now Applebloom come whit me fer' supper. Ya'll know Granny is mighty strict about it."

"Indeed, come Sweetie. You and Opal still need to eat."

The two fillies followed their respective sisters but Scootaloo didn't move. Rainbow stared at Destroyah waiting for it to leave. The kaiju showed no signs of moving any time soon, retracting its wings and settling on the floor nearby. It had no issue sleeping in the trees. It stared right back at Rainbow with its head rested against the cold floor.

"You and the energetic one related?"

"No."

"Then why are you here?"

Rainbow sighed clearly annoyed, seeing she would have to explain. She sat down rubbing her temples.

"Dash .. Its ok. You can tell him."

"Are you sure squirt?"

"Yea."

Dash sighed again and looked Destroyah straight in its cold eye, trying to get its full attention but she already had it.

"Scoots here doesn't have any family. I stay here all night with her. That is why I'm prone to sleeping during the day."

Destroyah didn't respond more than a slight jerk of its head.

"Aww how sweet for a dweeb!"

There was a loud crash as something large and powerful burst through the roof of the house. A large, four legged bird stood with her back to the kaiju.

"Gilda!"

"Yo RD. Sorry but I gotta' take something from ya'. Meet me at the ruins in the Everfree alone or she dies!"

In one quick fluid motion, Gilda, the dreaded griffon, grabbed Scootaloo in her front paws and took to the skies, exiting out of the same hole she created in the roof. Rainbow's annoyed attitude instantly turned to rage as she prepared to rush after that unlawful griffon but Destroyah gripped her tail in its mouth, pulling her straight back to ground level with little effort.

"Hey! What are you doing! I have to help her, let me go, LET ME GO!!!"

"Enough! Screaming is not going to solve anything. We will go after the flying butterball turkey. You get your friends."

Rainbow sighed again, looking distraught.

"Fine! Just make it quick and make sure she is alive so I can beat her down."

The kaiju flashed a twisted grin before bursting through the roof, doubling the size of the original hole.

"Hey! watch it!"

Destroyah just gave her that same twisted grin as it streaked across the sky, heading straight for the Everfree. It knew the location of the forest but the ruins, it had never heard of such a place. Nevertheless, it took only mere minutes for the kaiju to reach the forest and even fewer for it to quickly locate the ancient building. Destroyah landed at the entrance and walked inside, its claws clicking on the cold, battered stone. On a pedestal stood the griffon and on another connected to the main one was a hog-tied Scootaloo. Destroyah stared down the griffon.

"Dude the buck are you? What, Dash needs to send other dweebs to do her jobs? Fine, I'll kill the twerp and then I'll beat you down."

Gilda moved over to Scootaloo but before she could even lift a paw, she was rammed clean through the back walls of the building by Destroyah's massive skull. The monster raised its chin in glory, finally able to do the thing it does best, fight! Gilda pushed aside the rubble from her body and rose infuriated and in pain.

"Your gonna' pay for that dweeb!"

"Call me that again and I'll make sure to split you in two."

"That's it!" Gilda leaped for Destroyah, using her wings to propel her foreword as her claws extended for the final strike. Destroyah simply snickered, dodging the heavy blow just before it strict, countering with a deadly slash of its laser horn. Gilda screamed out in pain as she came crashing to the floor while her wing came tumbling down before Destroyah, complete severed from her body. Destroyah approached her crippled form, its maw filled with micro-oxygen energy as its heartless eyes store down at her piteous state.

"I warned you, but they never listen!" Gilda's eye snapped open and she lashed out in rage at Destroyah, slashing through its floral pattern covering its chest. Destroyah thrusted back with its wings to put some room between it and the raging griffon as it coiled up in pain. Destroyah looked down to see its torn floral pattern, jammed, bleeding and impossible to open. It then remembered that it's armor was not fully hardened after its transfer through dimensions.

"Is that the best you got? Even Godzilla Jr. managed to do better! You're pathetic!"

Destroyah snarled, loosing its micro-oxygen spray at the stunned Gilda, blasting her right in the face. The deadly blow singed her feathers clean off as it liquified her cheek to the bone. She cried out in sheer pain but still refused to give in. She lashed out at the kaiju once again, tearing at its face with her curved talons. Destroyah's face pushed back in pain but the kaiju would not stay away for long. Destroyah struck, returning the blow with a massive smash of the kaiju's fist, gripped the griffon's bare face and crushed it into the floor. Gilda was powerless to escape the kaiju's strong grip as it thrusted her into the air and sent her crashing into the roof, leaving a large crack were she hit. She was in a really bad position: bones snapped, muscles torn, flesh liquefied, she was not going to survive much longer. Even in her life-threatening state, she would not let herself lose.

"Your better than I expected dweeb but it you think you're gonna' beat me, you're crazy!"

"I already am."

"You're a dead pony!" Gilda lashed out at Destroyah but the demon easily avoided her weakened blow, latching onto her neck with its pincer-tipped tail and pining her to the ground.

"We are not ponies, WE ARE KAIJU!" Destroyah's tail came sweeping around the kaiju's body, smashing Gilda into wall after wall, tearing through pillars and ancient relics that had lasted through the ages. The crack in the ceiling began to lengthen as debris seeped from the gouge, indicating that the roof would soon give in to the intense battle.

When Destroyah finally let go, it left Gilda in a pool of her own blood, covered in debris from the cumbering ruins. Destroyah began its chant of death as it approached the near lifeless griffon.

"We were born in the beginning and we will create the end. Killing is out pleasure and we do it with ease. There is no stopping our unimaginable might. We are Destroyah, we are death!"

"No, NO!!! This can' be happening!"

"Oh, but it is!" Destroyah said as a demonic grin rose to the kaiju's face. It lowered its head and latched onto Gilda's throat, lifting her powerless body clear off the ground. Gilda again winced in pain but was unable to defy the kaiju's great strength; what she was experiencing was only the beginning! Destroyah's teeth sunk deep into her silken neck tissue, tearing through flesh, arteries and even bone. As the demon's teeth sunk deeper, its deadly micro-oxygen bio-weapon was unleashed into her veins, spreading rapidly through her bloodied body. She began to feel excruciating pain as the nuclear bio-weapon began stripping her molecules of oxygen atoms, tearing them apart and, in tern, liquefying her form! She screamed out to anyone that could here but the hideous bugle was cut short as her vocal cords melted. Destroyah inhaled its gruesome sustenance with joy and content. It had won. Destroyah roared to the sky to signal its victory. After its boastful expression of sheer power, Destroyah remembered what it had come here to do. Turning it's blood-drenched skull, the monster turned to face Scootaloo. The young pony was trembling in her bonds. Destroyah approached the young filly with a slightly dulled facial expression. Th kaiju looked down upon the bound filly, murder promised in its eyes, and snorted. Destroyah reared back, its massive horn cracking with micro-oxygen energy as laser horn charged. Scootaloo would have screamed if she could have but her mouth was covered. Destroyah snickered as its head came crashing down, ripping through the very atmosphere around its deadly horn. Scootaloo shrieked from within her bonds, turning away and closing her eyes, thinking this was the end. As the room quieted, Scootaloo opened her eyes to see her ropes perfectly cleaved in half. Destroyah had perfect aim, not so much as clipping the young filly. Scootaloo instant ran to the kaiju and squeezed its leg hard. Destroyah was not used to anyone showing any sign of affection to it.

"Thank you sooooo much, you saved my life!" The young pony said, still holding onto the kaiju's strong leg.

"I don't know what to say..." A loud crack shattered the tender moment. Destroyah looked up to see that the place was falling apart. They had to get out of there, FAST!!! Destroyah grabbed onto Scootaloo with its tail pincer.

"Hey, what are you doing?!"

"No time to explain, you need to go, NOW!" Destroyah tossed her out of the ruins with a quick thrust of its tail. She landed outside the crumbling structure with a soft thud in the nearby grass. She quickly rose and looked back as the building collapsed, Destroyah still standing inside.

"D, NO!!!" The filly screamed, slumping to the floor with her eyes filled with tears. Her new found 'hero' was crushed right before her very eyes. There was a long moment of silence as she was left sobbing on the floor until Rainbow Dash and her friends arrived.

"What happened?! Are you alright?!"

"I'm fine" Scootaloo said, still sobbing, "D saved me but not himself, he's still trapped inside!"

"Oh dear! That poor soul!" They all stood in silence at the demolished ruins, remembering the good deeds the kaiju had performed. They all believed that Destroyah would forever stay entombed within but as they began to tear up, the rubble moved! They store dumbfounded as Destroyah burst its way out of the heavy rubble. The monster freed itself within second and stood bloodied atop the mound. The kaiju, beaten and battered, swayed back and forth slightly before crashing to the floor, knocked unconscious by the building's collapse. The last thing its golden eyes say were seven or so blurry objects of vibrant colors approaching its beaten form with haste, then everything turned black...

Destroyah cracked open its eyes to find itself laying on a soft bed, covered in a silken cloth that warmed the kaiju's cold, hard body. It's floral pattern where Gilda had slashed it was heavily bound to prevent further blood loss. It psface had already partially regenerated and needed no such binding.

"Oh, awake already?! And I thought I recovered fast!"

Destroyah shifted its head over to the speaker. The rainbow-maned pegasus was about two inches from it face but the sluggish kaiju cared little for personal space.

"You saved Scoots and ran off Gilda. That takes guts man."

"Don't mention it, it was our pleasure. We don't think Gilda will be an issue ever again."

"Why would you say that?"

"She got what she deserved."

"Well good!" Dash glanced left and right, ensuring that no one was there, before giving Destroyah a nuzzle under the chin.

"Thanks for what you did." As quick as she went in, she trotting out if the room to wait on the other side, leaving a sleeping Scootaloo on one of the chairs and a very confused, bandaged Destroyah on its medical bed.

A few hours later Scootaloo had woken up and thanked the kaiju again for its heroic feat before leaving with Rainbow. Once they where gone the kaiju sat in bored silence, alone with its thoughts, wondering if what it had just done was 'right.' Several hours passed before it heard a hoof knock on its door.

"Come."

The door opened and Destroyah beheld a navy blue mare. Adorning her chest was an obsidian chest plate emblazoned with a crescent moon. On her head was a matching obsidian three pointed crown and on her hooves where silver shoes. The kaiju noted her ethereal mane, believing in all its nefarious ways that hers was far nicer than Celestia's.

"Hello good sir. We have heard what has transpired at the ruins of the castle within the Everfree forest. We must express our gratitude."

Destroyah perked up at her royal 'we'. "No thanks necessary."

"But good fellow! Thou hast ran off and injured a griffon! That in itself is a great feat for a pony." Destroyah decided to keep the fact that Gilda was not only injured, but slaughtered, to itself for the present moment.

"We don't know whether or not you have noticed but we aren't a normal pony. In fact, we are no pony at all, we are kaiju."

Luna perked at its use of 'we,' not really understanding that it was, in fact, made of several thousand creatures, if not more.

"That is for sure," she replied, ignoring the kaiju part, "but still, a celebration is in order, is it not?"

"No. We do not really need any display of gratitude, the 'thrill of the chase' is all we need."

"Then perhaps we could have a conversation in private when you feel better?"

"I guess. We don't have any plans."

"Good!"

The lunar princess trotted out of the room with something of a spring in her step. The kaiju was curious about its new arrival and actually looked forward to the meeting for some strange reason. Something about her just seemed... dark!
