Chapters “...and Starlight said she’s too busy to come with Trixie,” Trixie added, she was wearing a blue short-sleeve shirt showing off her stomach, she had her cape on but had taken the hat off during her pleading session. She wore a pair of white jeans, just baggy enough to slide down her hips a little, but not so baggy that she’d have to worry about them falling as long as she had her belt semi tightened. She was waiting patiently for a response from her friend, who was drinking a steaming cup of tea.
“So, I’ll ask again,” Spike replied for the second time, “why come and ask me?” He was wearing a light blue long-sleeved shirt and a pair of cargo shorts. The two were sitting alone in the castle, Twilight had been called out on a friendship quest with Applejack to Las Pegasus and Starlight had a friendship lesson with Rainbow Dash. Trixie sat in silence, knowing exactly how Spike wanted her to answer.
“Cause Trixie ran out of options,” she said flatly.
“Well usually I hate being the last choice, but sadly I’m not one to leave somepony so desperate that they’d beg on their knees for me to come with them.” Trixie lighted up on that.
“So, you’ll-”
“Yeah, I’ll help you go find your lost wagon wheel,” Spike said with a wave, “just let me finish up my tea.”
Three days ago, Trixie had come back from a show and was attacked by a manticore. She’d been saved through a well-timed intervention by Fluttershy, but had lost a chunk of her wagon, and her insurance didn’t cover the cost of a new wheel in addition to the rest.
“Oh, thank you so much!” Trixie practically sobbed as she hugged him, Spike only barely avoided spilling his tea. “The shop won’t let Trixie take it back without the wheel, and Trixie doesn’t want to spend another night in this maze of a castle!”
“Twilight gave you a chore list, didn’t she?” Spike asked simply.
“She gave Trixie a chore book!” Trixie shot back, “Trixie will not stay here a day longer than she has to!” Spike sipped at his tea for a moment before nodding.
“Alright, let’s go to the scene of the crime.”
---30 minutes later---
“Why was Fluttershy even out here?” Spike asked as the two sat on a large rock. Ponyville was just a small town in the distance as they looked at the scenery.
“Dunno, something about someponies’s pet running off or something, Trixie was too busy having a panic attack to hear her explanation.”
“It probably didn’t help that she had the manticore carry you back did it?” he asked with a chuckle, remembering seeing the show-pony passed out in said creature’s arms as they brought her back from the wreckage.
“Well, Trixie passed out as soon as it touched her so...” Trixie replied taking a drink from their canteen of water to hide her embarrassment. Spike looked around.
“So where did you lose the wheel?” Trixie pointed in front of them into a dense forest. Spike pointed at the large empty field behind them, chuckling slightly.
“Good, cause I would have judged you if it had been on this side. Any idea if our friendly neighborhood manticore broke it, cause I’d hate to have come this far to find nothing but a broken wheel.”
“Trixie remembers that when the side broke, the wheel rolled off that way,” Trixie said, simply pointing to the point ahead of them where the path made a turn, leading it right away from the woods. Spike and Trixie walked over to the sight and found a fairly sized levee leading into the forest. Spike nodded.
“Yeah, I figured we’d somehow end up going in there.” he waved forward. “Ladies first?” he asked.
“Oh, how polite of you,” Trixie replied sarcastically as she stood in place.
“Isn’t it?” Spike replied as he set off into the forest with Trixie following in tow behind him.
“…so, how far do you think it rolled?” she asked, as she ducked under some leaves.
“Well it was raining, so my guess is this area had some water in it when it rolled in here, so it’s more of a where did it end up at. There are no rivers or streams nearby, so it’s probably at, or near the end of this levee. And if it’s not then a wild animal decided it liked the way it looked and we’re never seeing it again, unless Fluttershy happens to find said animal.”
“So, this little adventure of ours is a hit, or a miss.”
“It’s been that the entire time,” Spike replied. The two walked on for a short while, talking about whatever they could think of, to pass the time until they reached the end of the trail they’d been following. Its end was at the top of a dip that was seemingly consuming the entire forest for as far as the two could see. The woods in front of them just sank down for almost a mile. Spike looked down at the smooth cutting on the side, down below them he could only see a vast sea of bushes.
“So, this part of the forest is sinking,” Spike noted, “that boded well.” Spike turned to give Trixie the bad news that they would have to stop and find a way to get down and found her attempting to climb down. “Wait, don’t-” Spike attempted when the dirt she was putting her weight on began crumbling. Her hand flashed out and grabbed his leg. Trixie fell over the edge, and Spike fell with her, only just grabbing onto the edge of the cliff. In mere moments it became clear to both of them that the bottom was a lot further down than it had appeared.
“Trixie thought these were bushes,” she yelped as she put her hoof on top of what she now knew was a fully-grown tree. Spike looked up as the ground he was holding onto began to give way.
“I think we were supposed to,” he said simply, the edge broke off and the two plummeted down, breaking a multitude of branches on their way. At the end of the fall, the two lay bruised and beaten on the ground. “I hate optical allusions,” Spike muttered irritably as he got up, covering a sore spot on his arm with his hand.
“So does Trixie,” Trixie replied as she rubbed her back. “Ouch, everything hurts.” The two looked around and froze. As far as they could see there was nothing ahead but darkness. Their fall through the tree had given them a few light-spots, but they noticed at once that the tree was rapidly regrowing its branches. “Spike, how do we get out of here?” Trixie asked worriedly as the light rapidly diminished. Spike touched the smooth side of the cliff and watched it crumble at his touch.
“We don’t,” Spike replied, the two looked at each other and scooted next to each other against the wall as their natural light was covered by the tree. Trixie cast a spell to make her horn glow, allowing them to see a small area around them. The two were breathing heavily as they looked around. Their original panic ironically deafening them to the absolute silence of the forest. No wind, no rustling of the branches above, and not even the sound of animals was to be heard.
“What is this place?” Trixie asked as the two looked around. Spike kicked a rock, which flew for a short while and landed in front of them. The stone hit the ground with a loud, hollow thud, followed by a cracking sound around them. The two watched as the ground around the rock began cracking.
“Absolute bullshit,” Spike exclaimed, as the rock fell beneath the ground. The floor was caving in, closing in on them. “You held us when we fell, but you aimlessly kick things into the dark?!” Trixie shrieked, as they began to slide forward, arm in arm. Spike and Trixie screamed as loud as they could, while they were swallowed by the earth. Just like the branches before, the hole they’d created closed as soon, as they fell.
Unbeknown to them, the rock Spike had kicked, appeared back on the surface, glowing orange, as a huge hand reached through the trees and picked it up. “Clever intruders, found the key,” a horribly raspy voice said as nine eyes lit up within the tree’s branches, “they must be caught before they reach the treasure room!"
Meanwhile, Spike and Trixie rolled through the dirt and only came to a rest when the dirt dissipated into nothingness, as they were blinded by unnaturally bright light. After a moment the two blinked it off and found themselves lying in a metal lined hallway.
“What the fuck?” Spike asked the empty hall, as he and Trixie got up. Trixie looked around for a moment, sighing. “Trixie is never seeing that wheel again, is she?” she muttered disheartedly.
“If we both survive, I will pay for the damn wheel,” Spike replied as he tapped on the floor, “cause this level of bizarre deserves some reward." Before Trixie could thank him, the ceiling above them began shaking as it opened up. Trixie reacted before Spike did and pulled him out of the way, as a large hand came down from the ceiling, a hand big enough to hold Spike or Trixie in its palm. It was quickly followed by four others before it pulled its owner inside. It looked, for lack of better words, like a monster, it had dog like feet, four arms, a long, thin tail, covered in spikes, and a hunched back with a shell, with more spikes to account for.
The beast had a pony like head, with two eyes in the normal place and five more, placed above, in between and next to the usual pair. It had two long teeth, curved to the side on either side of its muzzle. A pair of ram-horns and pony like ears grew atop its head, with a chunk of the left ear missing. And if all of this wasn’t enough, its voice sent chills down both their spines.
“Come out little intruders,” it said, “come out and I promise your death will be faster than if you’d force me to catch you!” Spike and Trixie decided with a nod, to sneak towards the nearest doorway. The two made their way through the room as fast, and as silent, as they could. The room was large and seemed to be made mostly of jade, a shimmering green material. They made their way up a series of stairs, hoping it would lead them to the exit.
Instead, they found a podium, floating, in what they assumed to be a display case, bearing a pair of simple looking earrings. On the side of the podium stood a small sign.
“The Portara,” Spike read aloud, “two warriors shall place these on one of their ears, and they will become greater than the sum of their parts.” Spike and Trixie looked at them for a moment, contemplating what to do. “That sounds really cool, but Trixie doesn’t know if she can, in a clear conscious-” The raspy voice rang through the room, cutting her off.
“Come here to me, or I shall make you eat your own bowels!”, the voice was still reverberating from the walls as Trixie scrambled to get on spikes back to reach the podium “Take ‘em, take ‘em, take ‘em!” Trixie said as she took the earrings, the monster’s voice rang out once again, calling the two thieves, as it climbed the stairs. Trixie gave one to Spike and clipped hers on. He followed suit.
“Ok, so now what!?” Spike asked before their two earrings sparked with lighting. At once the two were engulfed in it and seemed to turn into light. The two light sources melted into one, and in a flash of light, two different looking eyes opened on one body.
“What?” Trixike asked as she looked at her sharp fingers. From the waist down she had scales, further up, she had fur. She was wearing Trixie’s cape, and shirt, which now had her cutie mark on it, and Spike’s shorts, which now showed little green flames on the pockets. She had Spike’s tail with a tuff of Trixie’s tail on the end. She was much taller than the two of them had been as well.
Her horn was curved back, her body was the same shade of blue as Trixie’s fur had been, but the end of her hooves, hands, tail, and horn where all the same shade of purple as Spike’s scales, she had the showponie’s mane, with stripes of green, like the dragon’s spikes. She barely had a moment to take in the fact that she was them, and that they were now her before their hunter arrived, the fury in his eyes more eminent than before.
“You stand guilty of stealing from the Hall of Ancient Magical Artifacts!” the voice rang out, causing Trixie to flatten her ears against her head, as it made its way up the last couple of steps.
“Prepare to drown in your own blood!”

a Third series? I can only hope it goes better than the original.
you say it's weird that Spike is wearing shorts and a long-sleeved shirt, I say that it's what I wear most of the time.
Trixike took a step back from the Guardian, still trying to figure out how she had been merged into one. “Listen,” she said, her voice sounding like an off pitched version of Trixie’s own. “I feel like we and you, or me and you, I don’t know how to call us, got off on the wrong foot and-”
The monster’s barbwire like tail shot out and wrapped itself around Trixike’s ankle, this was followed by it pulling them towards it, Trixike reacted in panic and in pain as its tail cut into her ankle. She charged both a blast of magic and an accidental blast of fire, both of which were nothing like she expected. Her magic attack shot out and blasted the creature down the stairs, while her fire breath came out like a geyser as it spewed over their adversary.
Trixike didn’t really have time to take that in, as its tail loosened, and in a last effort pulled them off balance and sent them spiraling down the stairs with the creature in tow. Their monster ‘friend’ recovered halfway down the stairs and caught itself as Trixike fell to the bottom of the stairs.
“Everything hurts,” Trixike said as she pulled herself up while the monster made its way to her “Come on…guy, can’t we just talk this out?”
“I am the Guardian of this ancient hall!” it replied, “You have intruded upon these sacred grounds-”
“We were just looking for a lost wheel!” Trixike cut him off as she got back to her hooves. “We didn’t mean to intrude in your scary ass forest of darkness and use any… weird fusion earrings!” The Guardian stared at them for a moment before pulling out the rock Spike had kicked earlier.
“This rock is the key to entering this sacred place. You expect me to believe you using it was an accident?”
“Why would you make a rock the key!? And why would you leave it just lying around!?” Trixike was getting a little agatized asking that.
“It was the emergency key!” The Guardian shot back “It’s there in case I lock myself out, and it’s just disguised as a rock, you nitwits!” the Guardian began approaching faster. Trixike decided now was the time to turn and run. “Even if your coming here was an accident, you have stolen a sacred artifact. And for that alone, you shall pay with blood!”
“What’s with you and blood!?” Trixike screamed as she hightailed it out of the room, “It’s weird!" The Guardian bend down and quickly began walking on all six of his appendages, running full speed after the intruder, Trixkie saw this as she turned the corner and jumped over the rushing monster in the last second. “Ha ha-oh shit!”
Trixike flew over her foe and proceeded to hit her head on the ceiling and fall to the ground. She pulled herself up and rubbed her head. “Why do I have to be so fucking tall?" she asked. Before she could get to her hooves the Guardian grabbed her tail and swung her over its head in an attempt to slam her into the ground.
Instead she once again hit the ceiling with her head, bounced off and landed on top of him, the Guardian’s spiky shell cut into Trixike who reacted once again on a newfound instinct shot a blast of dragon fire and magic at the ceiling. It gave way and Trixike saw daylight flooding inside. She grabbed the back of the Guardian’s head and slammed it back into the floor as she jumped up through the hole that was already rapidly repairing itself.
She only just managed to drag herself out before the hole closed completely, and was taking a deep breath to regain her strength. She had never felt so hopeless in any situation and got out without needing anyone’s outside help. Still, there was no way she’d be able to get home on her own after she’d lost her sense of direction in the halls below the earth.
“I hope somepony sees this,” she said, before once again blasting a torrent of flames and unicorn magic straight upwards. The green fire lit up the sky, with light pink magic crackling through it. After a moment the magic and fire swirled together and exploded leaving the letters “S.O.S” sparkling in the sky. It stayed up long enough for the forest to re-grow itself before she could see it fading from sight, or revel in the fact that she had done it herself, the ground below her began breaking up.
Trixike lit her horn for light, and booked it through the trees, away from the Guardian as it rose from the ground. “Run as fast as you like, your time is nearly up, and when it runs out you will have no hope of escaping my wrath!" the Guardian called out, as it lumbered through the pitch-black forest, following after her.
---Meanwhile---
“Well, that was a mess and a half,” Starlight muttered as she and Rainbow Dash looked at the area of disaster in front of them.
“So, you set a few things on fire,” Rainbow said calmly, “That’s just what happens when you put too much pressure on rain clouds, try making your magic squeeze them softer next time, and that should solve the-” she stopped talking since she needed her mouth to gape open, as a pillar of green fire appeared in the distance. Starlight and Rainbow Dash watched as it sparkled with magic and a huge “S.O.S.” formed in the sky. “…I think we should probably go check on that,” she bluntly noted.
“You think?” Starlight asked, a tinge of sarcasm in her voice, as she encased herself in magic and levitated into the air. She was very quickly outflown by Rainbow Dash. “See you there,” the Pegasus called back with a wave.
---within the forest---
Trixike was lost in every sense of the word. It was equally dark in every direction. The only sound she could hear was the sound of her own heartbeat, meaning that her new ‘friend’ could be anywhere. She wasn’t sure if she was going in a more or less straight line, or ran round and round in circles, since no matter how fast she ran or which direction she looked, nothing changed. She was surrounded by evenly spaced trees.
It took her a while to think of any ways of escaping, but in the end, she found one. “I’m a fucking dumbass,” she muttered, as she stuck her sharpened fingers into the trees and began climbing her way up. She’d bet that it would probably have taken way longer, if she hadn’t been so tall. It was a bit of a struggle to get through the leaves at the top, but with one final push she broke through and was blinded by natural light.
After a second of letting her eyes adjust, she found she had been running at an angle with the wall. It was a bit far, but she could easily make it in five minutes at most. She smiled and was about to climb down again when a hand grabbed her tail and pulled her back through the leaves and down the tree. She couldn’t stop crashing into the next tree over, before she got swung into another one. Everything was spinning and she had to concentrate to get free.
Looking down, she blasted the Guardian in the face with a current of flames. He let out a howl as his head was engulfed, dropping her to cover his face with his hands. Trixike quickly grabbed onto the trees on either side and she used them to hold herself in place so she could hoof the Guardian square in the muzzle. As he fell down, she dropped to the ground and ran with full speed towards the wall. “Yes, I’m gonna make it!” she cheered.
Just as the wall came into view, her earrings began glowing. There was a bright flash and Spike found himself running with Trixie riding on his back. The two had one second of confusion before they were overtaken by pain, Spike had kept the chest cuts from the Guardians back, Trixie could see the leg cuts from the monster’s tail on her legs, and they both got a fair number of bruises from both their tumble down the stairs and the tree slams.
Spike proceeded to trip over his own feet and the two tumbled over each other and hit the wall, Trixie lay on her side and Spike had his feet up the wall and his head on the ground. "Everything hurts," they said in unison. Trixie managed to pull herself up and Spike just lay on his back as the Guardian entered the spot that was enlightened by Trixie’s horn. Both of them reacted differently as he arrived. Spike attempted to blow fire at the Guardian and proceeded to set one of the Trees on fire, missing the creature by a mile. Trixie levitated rocks and began pelting the Guardian, screaming at it, trying to keep the terror out of her voice.
“Go away! Go away! Go away!” The Guardian ignored her and picked Spike up by his tail. “I fucking hate you,” Spike declared, as the Guardian prepared to squash the dragon’s head like a grape. Luckily, before he could, all the trees around them where suddenly covered in a magic aura, and were pulled from their roots and tossed to the side, causing the small area to be filled with light. Trixie and the Guardian looked up at the ponies above, as Starlight and Rainbow looked down at them for a moment. Taking his moment Spike, not being able to see exactly what was happening, blew fire at the Guardian who yowled and swung him into a nearby bush, much to Spike’s dismay he found it was a rose bush, with thorns scraping his scales as he sunk into it. Spike let out a pained yelp, and the Guardian turned, just to get a solid kick in the muzzle, courtesy of Rainbow Dash.
“Spike, you ok?” she asked.
“I am not, thanks for asking,” he replied bluntly as Starlight levitated Trixie to freedom, Rainbow turned to the Guardian as he began standing back up, and gave him another kick for good measure before turning to Spike who had a look of shock on his face. He’d sunken even farther into the roses and his hand already grazed the ground beneath.
“I’ll be dammed,” he said as he pulled something out of the bush, not caring about the pointy thorns surrounding him. After a moment his hand emerged with a prize that would make their adventure worth it. A thorn-covered wheel.
Before Rainbow could ask, she and Spike where levitated out of the way, just as the Guardian’s fists slammed down, right where Rainbow had been a moment before. Starlight pulled the two of them out and looked down at the monster as it made its way to the wall and began to ascend, all the while screaming the word thieves at them, Starlight frowned at it, as she charged her horn to perform a powerful spell, the monster already being halfway up.
“No,” she said simply, before blasting it off the wall and down into the ground. The bottom cracked and the Guardian fell back into the Hall of Relics, with a few tree’s following after him. Starlight hadn’t even fully turned, as she saw that the forest had begun fixing itself, trees regrowing fast in the places where Starlight had pulled fully grown ones out of the ground. The hole they’d created was about to close again. “I’m gonna have to bring Twilight up here.”
She turned to Check on Spike and Trixie, and found them staring in awe and delight at a wheel, covered in thorns. "We found it!" They practically sang before Spike dropped it and they fell to the ground in exhaustion, the rush of adrenaline finally dying down. Starlight sighed as she picked the two up. Rainbow only took the wheel and shook her head.
“Once you two are patched up, I want here the story of what the hell just happened.”
Spike and Trixie had a fair number of Bandages on them, but that didn't really stop them from doing anything, the two's first task was to deliver the wheel to have it reinstalled, a process that they where told would take a few hours, with a time set for them to come back Spike and Trixie moved to the Location they had decided upon, a small clearing in the forest around the outskirts of Sweet apple acres. After making sure they hadn't been followed the two set up a Blanket and pulled their respective ear-rings out.
"So..." Spike said awkwardly "Guess we gotta talk about the Trixike situation." Trixie looked at him for a second and chuckled.
"Trixie and Spike put together?" she asked, "Sounds like your saying Trick and Bike to fast and accidentally merged the word."
"Well it's either that of Spixie, and that sounds like Spit and Pixie." Spike retaliated.
"Then Trixie votes we stick with Trixike," Trixie replied. "And yes, she agrees that we should address the Trixike situation, and we both know the best way to agree on the topic do we not?"
"We do." Spike agreed as he clipped his Ear-ring on, Trixie nodded and clipped her's on, there was a moment of silence, then the two suddenly smashed face first into each other, the second their faces toughed they turned to light and after a moment Trixike was sitting on a Blanket,
"Oh, Trixike loves existing!" She sang out as she jumped to her hooves. "I only wish I could do it more often." Trixike got up and gave herself a once over "Now for the first and most important test!" Trixike clapped her hands together and pulled them apart, an hour Glass materializing in her hands, she dropped it and nodded "Now that the timer has been set, time to see what my physical prowess is." Trixike walked over to the nearest tree and looked up at it, she was around 8 foot 5, the tree itself was around 30 feet in height. Trixike patted her biceps.
"Let's see how strong these guns are," She latched her sharp fingers into the tree and began the task of climbing it, it took her little to no effort to reach its top and stand on it, her head popping out of the top of it's leaves. "Not even a little hard, Trixike will have to kick it up a notch," Trixike got off the very top and placed her hooves against the top of the tree before pushing off it, she had intended to jump off it, instead with a loud echoing crack the tree snapped in half and Trixike light her horn in panic, levitating herself in the air where her arms covering her face, she peaked out and looked down at the broken log.
"Oops," She muttered as she looked at the mess of splintered wood, she looked around to see if any ponies had come to check out the noise before picking the tree log up and trying to set it back up on it's broken stump. "I'm sure it'll be fine," Trixike thought "little duck tape and it'll be right as rain" A low cracking sound hit Trixike's ears and she looked over to the source, Fluttershy stood in silent wonder as she looked at Trixike, who froze at the sight of her before holding her hands up and teleported herself, the blanket, and her timer to the first place they could think of, Fluttershy walked into the clearing and looked around.
"What was that?" She asked in a mixture of curiosity and amazement,"
With a large splash Trixike landed in the water of the swimming hole, her blanket and hour glass landing on the shore safely. Trixike got to her hooves and found the deepest part of the hole didn't quite reach her neck.
"Trixike is just gonna hope that Fluttershy is to shy to tell Twilight about the pony lizard in the woods," she decided as she rung out her hat. she looked at the water and got an idea as she flapped her wings and pulled herself out of the waves, "Let's see if I can..." Trixike blasted the water with a spell and it froze in place, Trixike landed next to it and gently placed her hoof on the top, when no cracks appeared she stood on it fully, "Oh yeah Trixike is the master," She cheered as she rubbed her hands together, "let's see what else she can do," Trixike suddenly blinked "Wait...is Trixike a she?" Trixike looked down at her waist for a moment. "I don't think I'll check," She decided before shaking her head, She stepped off the ice and took a deep breath before blasting it with Fire, the thick ice melted in no time, Trixike stopped once the swimming hole was water again, she dipped her hoof into the water and found it was boiling hot, didn't hurt her but she decided to take a step back just in case she was getting close to the end of her time, she used the freezing spell and lightly frosted the water until it was more like a hot tub then a cauldron Trixike slid into the water and sighed.
"This is nice," She decided as she kept an eye on her timer, waiting to see how long it would be until she turned back into Spike and Trixie.
"A what?" Rainbow asked in confusion, Fluttershy was dragging Rainbow down the dirt road to her cottage.
"Some sort of giant lizard pony thing," Fluttershy said in excitement "She was huge, easily 8 or 9 feet tall,"
"And your telling me this?" Rainbow asked "this fells more like a Twilight thing than a..."
"I don't want to capture it, I want to study it," Fluttershy said in excitement, before adding in a whisper "You said that you heard the monster that was trying to kill Spike and Trixie screaming that they where trying to steal something right?"
"Yeah?" Rainbow replied.
"Well, my theory is that the forest was like a nature preserve for ancient creatures and when Spike and Trixike went down to get the wheel, the lizard pony got out..."
"And he thought they stole it," Rainbow finished "It's possible," Rainbow thought for a moment "I bet that's what that magic and fire was! no way Trixie or Spike could do that, I beat the lizard pony is an ancient ancestor of both ponies and dragons!" Rainbow smiled at the idea "Alright Fluttershy, lets you and I track down this thing and become even more famous that we already are!"
"I just want to learn about it's living habits, oh I wonder if it's evolved enough to speak equestrian!" the two smiled as they had very different day dreams, Rainbow of writing a book about the hunting and capture of the ancient creature, and Fluttershy of happily having tea with it. The two made their way into Fluttershy's house to begin planing.

due to being half Trixie half Spike Trixike will switch from speaking in the third person to speaking in the first person
"An hour," Spike said as he pulled himself out of the water and checked the hourglass "Give or take a minute or two,"
"Hm," was Trixie's only reply as she rung out her cape, her eye's moving from the hour glass to the Rings "Trixie is wondering, why is it we aren't snapping back together?"
"Maybe they need to recharge?" Spike replied "Or maybe they need to be taken off and put back on, so that the two who had fused don't just immediately snap back together?" Spike and Trixie took them off and snapped them back on, when nothing happened they tried swapping both the ear they snapped it on and the rings themselves.
"Since she is still Trixie, Trixie is going to say that your first guess was probably the correct one,"
"Spike must agree," There was a moment of silence as Trixie looked at Spike in shock, who had slapped his hands over his mouth.
"Did you just...?" Trixie asked in shock.
"I did," Spike confirmed "I didn't even do it on purpose, the words just came out like that," Trixie gave him a large grin,
"That is amazing, Trixie has always wanted a friend that has the same vocal tones as she! Do it again!"
"The Vocal tones of Spike are..." Spike stopped talking for a moment, an irritated look on his face as he tried again "My speech pattern's are mine to control and Twilight would kill me if i started talking in the third person," Spike looked over at Trixie's sparking eyes and turned the situation on her. "I bet you won't be smiling when you start talking in the first person!" That killed Trixie's buzz.
"Oh, no! What if Trixie loses her flair! It would kill her act!!!" Spike sighed as he began walking away from the Swimming hole.
"We can panic over the side effects later, Your cart should be ready to be pulled from the shop, lets go pay for it and set it up,"
Fluttershy and Rainbow where at the cottage, drawing up a plan to catch the Lizard Pony .
"It could be an ancient Kirin," Rainbow said with a smile "It certainly looks close enough," Rainbow jumped to another tangent without hesitation "Maybe some ancient dragons got it on with Ponies!"
"It could be a sub species that went extinct," Fluttershy added. "Maybe Ponies and Dragons where once the same thing, then they diverged into Ponies and Dragons, and the Dragon Pony Hybrid is a evolutionary predecessor that died out," As they where throwing theories up in the air Fluttershy was carefully making a mix plate of an assortment of Veggies and several different kinds of gems, as she was preparing the bait Rainbow was making sure her camera's flash was off and checking if Fluttershy's quills had a solid point before putting them in a container next to a few ink bottles
"So it what was it doing?" Rainbow questioned as she finished backing the bag.
"I was out on a walk looking for a good picnic spot for next week when I heard a loud echoing crack, I rushed to the spot to make sure no animals where harmed and there I saw it, just casually picking up the tree and trying to put it back on the stump, I got closer, stepped on a twig and the moment it saw me it just dissapered, I rushed to tell you what had happened and...well here we are now," Rainbow thought of that for a moment before turning to Fluttershy.
"That's a little odd," Fluttershy shrugged.
"I'm sure she had a good reason for doing it,"
"Dang," Spike muttered as he emptied his saving's onto the counter "Trixie you need to get some Insurance or something,"
"Trixie is working on it," She shot back as she hooked herself up to her cart "Cart insurance is a pain in the ass and Trixie need to constantly focus on updating her act to stay in the business," Spike didn't reply to her as he was confident she'd turn it into an half hour argument about her work, once Spike had sufficiently spent all his savings on all the bills Trixie was behind on for her cart he walked back to her and together they headed out to set her up at her new living site, as they made their way into the somewhat barren streets of Ponyville Spike looked at her with a side glance.
"What do you think Fluttershy's gonna do?" Trixie didn't look back as most of her attention was on making sure she didn't hit anything with her cart but did had a reply.
"She'll probably tell one or more of the others and go one a mission to befriend Trixike and learn more about what we are,"
"We could just explain everything to them," Spike before frowning "But Twilight would probably take 'em away and study them to try and figure them out,"
"Giving them to her would be the responsible thing to do," Trixie added, the two looked at each other for a moment before smiling. "But Trixie simply enjoys breathing fire to much to give them up,"
"And magic is super awesome, we just made that the Sand timer appear, I don't think that's even a preexisting spell it's just something we did!" As the two talked about how much power they had as Trixike they made their way to the Spot Trixie had picked out to be the resting place of the cart. Once they arrived to the spot their conversation had shifted.
"I'm pretty sure that clearing is probably going to be the main spot of Fluttershy's probably investigation."
"Trixie has confident that as Trixike we can grab the tree and be back here before Fluttershy even notices us," Trixie gave Spike a smile as she unhooked herself as Spike set up several blocked to keep the cart from rolling.
"Sure," Spike said once he was done "But what the hell do you want the tree for?"
"Trixie is sure that using Trixike she could put a spell of the tree, not sure witch one, but one that can make it a marvel at her next show, maybe cast a spell so that when I touch it turns to bubbles, or maybe a spell that lets Trixie cut it into the shape of herself during the show, or-" Spike cut her off as he pulled his ring out.
"Just snap on the ring and then let Trixike think something up. Trixie pulled the Ring out of her pocket and snapped it on. In a flash Trixike was looking down at the roof of the cart with a smile as she took Trixie's hat off and placed it on the door, a signal to Starlight should she come by that Trixie was taking a beauty nap.
"Maybe I can have burst into butterflies that fly over to a stand where they can then be purchased by the audience," She tapped her chin as she began the walk around ponyville back to the clearing. "Would ponies buy that, I'm sure some of them would but I doubt I could unload a tree's worth."
"All set?" Fluttershy asked as she put the Gem salad on the Jagged Tree stump, the tree that the creature had tried to prop back up had fallen back down almost immediately after it left and had brought down a much smaller tree in the process. Above the clearing Rainbow lay hidden in the clouds with a Camera ready to snap a picture should the creature show up.
"As Set as I can be," Rainbow replied as Fluttershy moved to her hiding spot in the bushes and pulled out her own camera. "This could take ages," Rainbow muttered when they heard a voice humming, the voice was an odd pitch and Rainbow couldn't for the life of her determine if it was a male or a female singing, leaves started rustling as the owner of the humming got closer, then the creature steeped into the clearing, Fluttershy had descried it to her but Rainbow was still shocked if nothing else by how accurate Fluttershy had described it. The Creature gave the clearing a once over before smiling and walking to the fallen tree, it leaned over to grab it when it noticed the bowl and stared at it in confusion before picking it up and staring around the clearing before setting the bowl down gingerly and picking the tree up like it way nothing, all the while Rainbow and Fluttershy where taking as many pictures as they could when suddenly the Creature spoke.
"Trixike appreciates the offer but declines it, also," She pointed directly at Fluttershy, then to the Cloud where Rainbow Dash was "I can hear your Camera's clicking," With that she lit her horn and teleported away with the tree, Fluttershy and Rainbow stood in silence before Rainbow groaned.
"Great, we find an ancient creature and it's basically super Trixie," Rainbow shook her head "It's name even sounds similar to hers," Rainbow lay in clouds as Fluttershy looked at the spot it had been in with amazement.
"It's Speak's Equestrian,"
"And in random Third person no less," Rainbow called back.
"Oh this is so exciting!" Fluttershy cheered.
Trixike teleported back to the cart and set the tree down, shrinking it with her magic as she did so and sat down next to the cart before propping herself against a tree and waited for the fusion to come undone, all the while pondering what to do with the tree.
Trixie and Spike were still talking about what to do with the Tree as Starlight made her way into the clearing, she blinked at the scene before her, Spike and Trixie were playing a game of chess and arguing the whole while.
"-so hard to find a use for it," Trixie said angrily as she took one of Spike's Knights.
"Your the one who wanted to go back and get the tree for your act," Spike countered as he took her last Pawn.
"Hey," Starlight said making them both jump, the second they looked at her she saw the guiltiest looks in their eyes.
"Starlight," Trixie said cautiously "How long have you been here?" Starlight looked at them in silence and Spike said in a whisper.
"I don't think she heard the...hard to explain parts,"
"Good," Trixie said as she looked at the Chessboard and, making a judgment call, flipped it. "You were cheating anyway,"
"Yeah, sure I was," Spike replied as the two made their way to their suspicious friend.
"Hard to explain parts?" She asked as she eyed the two "Tree? What have you two been doing?"
"We haven't been doing anything," They said in perfect unison.
"You two only speak in such perfect unison when your lying to me," She said with a raised brow.
"No, we don't," They said together earning a sigh from Starlight.
"What did you two do?" They stood in silence for a moment before Trixie threw down a smoke bomb, Starlight cleared the smoke with a spell and turned around to see the two rushing down the path. "That bad huh?" She asked the empty area before following after them. Spike and Trixie ran down the path and ran into Rainbow and Fluttershy.
"Pardon," Trixie said as she pushed past Rainbow and knocked her down, Spike doing the same to Fluttershy.
"Sorry," Spike called back as he and Trixie headed for the hills.
"You two come back here and explain!" Starlight called before stopping at the sight of Fluttershy and Rainbow, "Wow," She said before helping Fluttershy to her hooves "If Spike knocked you over and just kept running he and Trixie must have really done it this time,"
"I'm pretty sure we know what they did," Fluttershy said as she brushed herself off
"Remember that big crazy monster?" Rainbow asked before adding "The one that wanted to kill Spike and Trixie?"
"Yes, I distinctly remember it screaming the word thief at us,"
"Well, I think we found what it thinks they stole," Fluttershy said as she handed Starlight a Camera presenting her with a Picture of Trixike holding a Tree.
"Tree," Starlight whispered before tossing the camera back to Fluttershy "I need to talk to Spike and Trixie now!"
-Meanwhile-
Spike and Trixie were just about to make it to Ponyville when a tree only just missed splattering Trixie, the two slid to a stop and turned as Trixie called out
"What the fucking fuck Star-" Trixie cut off as a large figure with 4 arms approached them holding another tree, it's 9 eyes glaring at them with hate.
"Hello little thieves," The Guardian said in a spine chilling voice "I shall crush you into a bloody paste,"
"You have a serious problem with blood," Spike said as she quickly clipped on his ring, Trixie doing that same. The two turned to light and swirled together, The Guardian swung his tree, hoping to disrupt the fusion, only for magic to tug it from his grasp, he turned around and saw Starlight.
"You dare-" it said before Trixike took form and bitch slapped him into the trees.
"Now," Trixike said as she cracked her knuckles "Let's talk about this blood obsession of yours," The Guardian screamed and jumped at Trixike, who simply teleported behind Starlight and the two pegasi.
"Oh wow," Fluttershy said as she looked up at Trixike "It's a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Trixike,"
"They're not even trying," Starlight muttered as the Guardian got to his feet. "So Trixike, this a friend of yours?"
"That guy has an unhealthy obsession with Murder and mutilation," Trixike replied, "I swear every time I see him he just screams-"
"I will make you eat your own bowels!" The Guardian screamed as he ran at them.
"That's one of his catchphrases," Trixike added before jumping over the trio and charging him, the two met in midway and locked hands before Trixike realized what she had just done. "oh shit," She managed to say before he began using his extra set of arms to beat into her, After a punch to the face that sent on of her teeth flying he flipped her over him and she kneed him in the face, Still keeping her locked in his grip the two tumbled towards Ponyville, Trixike opened her mouth and began spewing as much fire as she could into his face, he started screaming and tried to push her away, but the second they were free she slammed her hand into the side of his skull and continued spewing flaming at him, she stopped once she lost her breath and the monster hit her with all 4 fists and sent her flying into the town, the second they had started fighting Starlight and the rest had rushed to the town to get the citizens away from the fight.
"Oh my stars," Pinkie cried out "It's a Kaiju vs a living sex fantasy!"
"Fucking What?" Trixike demand looking over at Pinkie who winked at her.
"I'm free whenever if your down for it," She called back before Starlight engulfed her in her magic.
"Pinkie go and help with the evacuation," Pinkie bounced away, but not before calling back.
"Call me sometime Trixike, I'm sure we could have some fun," Trixike watched Pinkie leave and looked at Starlight in confusion.
"You two focus on fighting your monster,"
"Don't tell Twilight," Trixike replied as she turned just in time to get decked in the face and sent into a building before she could retaliate the Guardian was on her, It raised it's fist and struck down and in a bright flash the Guardian slammed its fist into the building and took it down, it looked around in confusion for Trixike.
"Good news," Trixike said as she teleported back in behind it, The Guardian turned and was struck in the face with a Giant wooden bat "I figured out what to do with the tree," The Guardian was just getting back to his feet when Twilight final made it to the scene and blasted it into the ground, Trixike was about to cheer her on when she turned to her with the same spell. "Ah shit," Trixike said before getting blasted back into the forest, the Bat spinning in the air where she had just been standing before clattering to the ground.
"Twilight!" Fluttershy cried out "That one was on our side!" Twilight blinked at that and looked over as Trixike lay on her back, looking pissed with her arms crossed at the end of a long line of destroyed trees.
"Sorry," Twilight called out.
"I get why you did it," Trixike replied "Just go stop the Murder Monster," Twilight turned back to the Guardian and flew into battle with Rainbow Dash flying in right behind her, as this went down Starlight and Fluttershy rushed to Trixike's side and found Pinkie had beaten them to the scene.
"So," Pinkie said as she leaned into Trixike "You think about calling me?"
"Pinkie," Starlight said in exasperation as she pulled the mare away from Trixke, Fluttershy rushed to the Creatures aid. "Don't flirt with it,"
"Oh, but I never would have thought that Spike and Trixie mixed together could make that," Pinkie replied as she ran her eyes over Trixike. "All that shape with all of Spike's Dic-"
"Stop," Starlight demanded as she dropped Pinkie and went to Fluttershy's side.
"I never would have guessed," Fluttershy said as she looked at Trixike's fat lip "I mean, I guess it should have been obvious, but still, how did you two-?"
"Magic earings," Trixike replied simply "Mister Murder Monster was gonna kill us for having the gull to exist near him and then we just kind of panicked," Trixike shrugged "Technically we are thieves, but he was very clear about wanting to murder us before we touched anything,"
"Oh, but your tooth," Fluttershy muttered as she watched the blood slowly pour out of Trixike's mouth and onto the ground.
"Oh yeah," Trixike said as she felt her jaw "I wonder which one of us lost it," as Trixike pondered on the important things in life Twilight trapped the Guardian in magic chains, as he continued to scream death threats at her she and Rainbow landed next to Trixike.
"Spike!?" Twilight asked in shock once she actually got a good look at Trixike "Trixie?"
"Oh shit," Rainbow said with raised ears, "It is super Trixie!"
"I am in so much fucking pain right now," Trixike replied "I do not need your sass,"
"What happened?" Twilight demanded.
"You blasted me through like 40 trees," Trixike spat back. Twilight's ears flattened and she gave a guilty smile.
"Sorry," She said before adding "But I was more referring to you two...being one,"
"Magic rings, that ass hole was gonna kill us, us taking it made him obsessed with blood,"
"I will drown you all in your own liquids!" they heard the Guardian scream out.
"That guy's an ass hole," Trixike decided as she lit her horn, after a few moments of nothing her missing tooth flew over to her. She quickly cleaned it off and with a pop and a wince of pain Trixike put it back into her mouth. "Alright you guys go deal with that guy, I'll just be...existing here until I'm not in so much pain,"
"Have fun in Tartarus," Twilight said with a wave as she left the Guardian in his cage screaming, as she made her way to the portal she stopped for a second to scratch Cerberus behind the ears before jumping back through to Ponyville and shutting the portal behind her. "Alright one problem down," Twilight took to the air and made her way to the castle, upon arriving she made her way to the map and found her friends waiting for her, with Trixike laying on the map while Fluttershy did her best to tend to her wounds. The room was full of the chatter of her friends talking about Trixike, tho the only one she made out was Rarity talking to herself.
"Amazing," Rarity said as she examined one of Trixike's outstretched wings "If I wore one and gave the other to a pegasus I could, even if only for a brief moment, become an Alicorn,"
"You're not trying them on," Twilight said as she shut the door to the map room, the room grew quiet as she walked in, the only one's paying her no mind where Trixike and Fluttershy who were deep in conversation.
"Are you sure?" Fluttershy asked as she used her gloved hand to poke around Trixike's mouth, as their mouth was currently full of hand Trixike just gave Fluttershy a thumbs up. "Well, either way, next time you decide to put a tooth back in your mouth I'd like to oversee the process myself, you could end up damaging your gums or causing yourself more pain if your aim is just slightly off." Trixike just continued giving Fluttershy a thumbs up.
"There isn't going to be a next time," Twilight said firmly, getting their attention. Fluttershy removed her hand and Trixike immediately sat up straight and winced at a pain in her side.
"Oh hey Twi," Trixike said casually after a moment "Thank you for punching me with magic through like 20 trees,"
"I'm sorry," Twilight replied with a sigh "I miss-read the situation, But there wouldn't have been any situation to read in the first place if you two had given me those fusion ear-rings when you had gotten them," Twilight was prepared for a fair number of responses, however the one she got was not on that list.
"I am not a two, I am a one," Trixike replied with a very serious tone, " Trixike is Trixike, and when I am here Spike and Trixie are not here, just as when Spike and Trixike are here, Trixike is not," there was a fair amount of silence following that before Twilight decided on a response.
"Then can I speak to Spike and Trixie?" Twilight tried, Trixike looked at her bare wrist and a watch appeared out of thin air.
"Um," Rainbow said as Trixike stared at it for a moment "Nice Discord powers," Trixike didn't respond to Rainbow and instead looked to Twilight.
"Spike and Trixie should be back in about 4 minutes,"
"What you can't snap your figures and make it 4 minutes later now?" Rainbow asked with a chuckle, Trixike looked at Rainbow for a moment then looked at her own hand, she snapped her figure, and after a moment of snapping repeatedly shook her head.
"I can not," She confirmed, "I have no idea how to control the flow of time,"
"Well, then Trixike..." Twilight said only to be instantly cut off by Pinkie.
"So," Pinkie said as she sat on Trixike's stomach and patted at her stomach. "Is it coved in scales, fur, or a mixture of both?" Trixike looked down at Pinkie with a raised brow and lifted up one of her scaled hooves and one of her furry clawed hands.
"Trixike is coved in both?" Pinkie laughed and put her hand on Trixike's fuzzy stomach.
"Silly, I wasn't talking about your body I was talking about your Dragon horse Co-" before Pinkie could finish Rarity cut her off.
"Pinkie Darling," She said harshly as she coved the mare's mouth "whatever you put in your coffee this morning never drink it again" Twilight cleared her throat and got their attention.
"You all done?" she asked.
"Not my fault there a living sex fantasy," Pinkie replied with a shrug before smiling "At least they look like one of mine, and there a Futa to boot," Pinkie licked her lips and earned a wack on the head from her friends. "Ok, I'll stop, I'll stop," Pinkie looked up at Trixike and gave the 'call me' hand gesture before backing off.
"Alright," Twilight said taking a deep breath "So..." Twilight was instantly cut off again as Trixike turned to light and split back into Spike and Trixie who both instantly cried out in pain and fell onto their backs breathing hard.
"My back hurts," Spike complained.
"Trixie's face hurts," Trixie added, as the two lay on the table Twilight held out her hand and the two sighed in exasperation.
"Fine," They said in unison as they unclipped the rings and tossed them to Twilight, the group watched as the second the rings touched Twilight's hand they turned to light and instantly zapped back onto Trixie and Spike's respective ears. Both of them lay in silence before sitting up in silence.
"Uh?" Spike said in confusion as he took it off and tried handing it to Twilight, he placed it in her palm with no problem but it turned to light the second his hand left it and it returned to his ear. Trixie tried a different route and threw it at the wall, the second it touched the wall it exploded into light and swirled back to her ear.
"There cursed," The duo said in sudden realization as they slowly looked at Twilight who looked both angry and concerned at once. Instantly the main 6 and Starlight did their best to remove the ear-rings from their friends, but the moment they stopped touch Trixie or Spike they just popped back onto their ears, after a second Spike and Trixie suddenly reformed back into Trixikie who sat in silence.
"Well this got a lot less sexy," Pinkie whined as she tried to take the Ear-rings off her fused friends "And infinitely less fun," before anything more could be done Twilight clapped her hands to get their attention.
"We're going to Canterlot," She said, having settled on being worried over being angry "Now,"
