Entry 1: Damage Assessment and Rundown of Operations and Safety Test for Reactor 4 (Edited)

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

THE FOLLOWING IS A DAMAGE ASSESSMENT AND OPERATIONS TEST RUNDOWN GIVEN 2 DAYS BEFORE THE TEST ON REACTOR No.4. THIS WAS GIVEN A GREEN TO GO BY PRINCESS CELESTIA AND 4 OF EQUESTRIA'S FINEST ENGINEERS.
Damage Assessment on Marenobyl-Stalliongrad Power Station.

Housing Unit No.2

Reactor No.4

Celestial Year 950.4

During a test on Marenobyl Reactor No.4, a cooling malfunction halted the testing from being completed. Engineers along with the manager of Reactor No.3 attributed the problems to the following items:

-Blocked Pressure Exchange Valve

-Crack in Coolant Tank No.8

-Overheating of Reactor Core of No.4 unit

-Pressure Drops of 50 psi. over a period of 30 sec.

The issues have been brought before the repair staff and all have been resolved. Testing will resume after normal operations resume and stability of the core is assured for a period of 36-72 hours. For the approval of stability, the reactor must meet the following criteria:

-Pressure of Core: Less than 200 psi. max.

-TEMPERATURE OF CORE: LESS THAN 150 *F MAX.

-POWER OUTPUT: BETWEEN 550-600 MW/h MAX.

These must be kept for the 36-72 hour duration of approval.

The following was released 36 hours after the Damage Assessment given on Reactor No.4

System Safety & Operations Test of Marenobyl-Stalliongrad Power Station

Housing Unit No.2

Reactor No.4

Celestial Year 950.4

This Document signifies that Marenobyl-Stalliongrad Power Station Reactor No.4 has passed stability and quality control and is to be allowed to conduct a safety / operations test under the following criteria:

-The test must be done during times when power usage by the public is less than 200 MW/h

-The test must be done in the presence of the Equestrian Nuclear Power and Safety Commission (ENPSC)scientists and engineers.

-Back up cooling systems must be armed and ready to be put into use in case of overheating

-A specialized team must be setup near the reactor to manually insert control rods if safety systems fail

-Power must be run from Marenobyl-Stalliongrad Reactor No.4 for the duration of the test. Safety systems must be powered by a separate power supply and not from the reactor

-No one is allowed to be in the control room except for:

*Scientists: 3

*ENPSC workers: 3

*Reactor No.4 Lead Scientist and Lead Engineer

-All members of the test must have had at least 6 months experience or have special recommendation from either the Lead Scientist or Lead Engineer

This test is to take place at 2:08 A.M., in exactly [1] day(s) from now. This test has been approved by Princess Celestia and the ENPSC. All other tests will have to be approved by the ENPSC before being presented for royal approval to ensure the safety of all worker and civilians involved.

Signed,

Princess Celestia
