The changelings are a plague that spread across the universe, corrupting and enslaving planet after planet. In a war spanning centuries, Equestrians have been in a constant race to warn new species of the approaching onslaught. Many times they have failed, the changelings converting the planets before the ponies could even arrive. One however, has managed to hold out.
On Earth, the invasion came as a shock, a sudden introduction to a new species. In the first minutes they were welcomed, a confirmation that we were not alone in the universe.
Within an hour they had taken New York city. Several other coastal cities were quickly put under siege.
Within Two hours a full military response was organized. Civilians were advised to retreat to evacuation sites.
Within three hours a nuclear response was unleashed. Casualties remain uncounted.
Within four hours the evacuation sites came under attack.
It is hour five, their numbers are endless. We fight in vain to hold them back. Many pray for a savior.
We cannot hold.

Author's Note: To all potential readers, this is a military fiction, with a heavy emphasis on both the military, as well as the fiction. It involves quite a bit of jargon and while I have done my best, I am no military man. As such, it is likely filled with little inaccuracies (Radio speak primarily).
If you do not like media such as: Black Hawk Down, or Lone Survivor, I do not recommend you read this story.
This is just a warning so that you aren't disappointed upon cracking the story open and finding it full of a lot of military based speak.
